Reason: The idea behind it was an animal that can accompany you from start to finish. We think Ark doesn't need another endgame animal that can do everything and is unbeatable. We want a good friend and faithful companion in all situations. And that's why he's here now: The aincent Wolfhound. Survivors best friend and best buff supporter ever! (idea by Dextro23 -> German ARK YouTuber Dossier: Wild: Canis lupus familiaris has been man´s best friend for thousands of years. So I´m not surprised to find him on the Ark. The Survivors here simply call him Wolfhound. Like his relatives today, he is an extremely faithful and loyal companion who can be found almost everywhere, because of his high adaptability. Despite his size, he is nor strong enought to be ridden. However, with the right saddlebags, it turns out to be capable of carrying quite a lot of commodities. Domesticated: The Wolfhound has become the perfect companion for Survivors. Well trained, he can handle almost any situation. On my journey I met a master at it: His Animals were able to give him an advantage in almost any situation. Be it finding him everywhere with the help of a whistle, warning and defending him from Attackers or protecting him from heat and cold. They hunt reliably and independently in the vicinity of their owner and develop enormous strenght when it comes to defending their master from Wolves or Bears. Above all, his most outstanding ability is being exactly what he has always been. A faithful and reliable friend for all Survivors! Buffs/Skills: Once tamed, he is the ideal companion for every project. He is not rideable, but has saddlebags (weight reduction of 15%, from Lv15) He give various buffs and benefits on his survivor: "Heel": The wolfhound gets everywhere with the help of a whistle, no matter where you are. Did you leave him in base but now need his help or skills just blow the whistle and he will find you. (the whistle is crafted in his inventory; he only listens to this whistle) "Here I am": At a signal with the whistle you can make him bark, which gives animals up to Carno size a lower aggro range and makes them less likely to attack. "Attention": Are you currently farming or taming and don't get what's happening around you? No problem: Your wolfhound is always alert and will start to rumble if an animal tries to attack you. "Hunter": If you hold the whistle in your hand and whistle to attack, you will see a circle radius. Anything in this area will be attacked, killed and farmed by your Wolfhound. (gains bonus of hide and meat) "Playful": You are traveling with your friends and you both have a wolfhound. Then enjoy the peace and watch how the two play with each other from time to time (little animation) "Best Freind": Whoever raised/tamed him gets a boost to defense and attack in his vicinity. On top of that, it will protect you from cold and heat. Whether in the desert or in the snow, the wolfhound at your side will always look out for your well-being. "Territory Hunter": Like the dogs of old time, this one is unbeatable when it comes to hunting down wolves and bears. He will gain increased defense while fighting this and his attacks will do more damage. (which also makes him an unbeatable companion for the dungeons in Ark So how do you become the proud owner of a wolfhound? Taming is relatively easy (after all, he's supposed to be by your side from the start) All you need is grilled meat (he especially loves that) The meat is put on an arrow and shot near the animal. (Caution: untamed, he is aggressive towards humans, although his range is quite small) When he has eaten the first piece of meat, you gain his trust and can go to him. Then just have some grilled meat on the last slot and crouch and approach him head-on. If he sits down in front of you and lets his tongue hang out, he is ready to be fed. On the other hand, if you have weapons or something similar in your hand, he will attack.

Orcinus Paleorca - the Killer-Whale Bioluminescent Buddies!
SirGlobbyLot posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
ORCINUS PALEORCA Dossier: “Orcinus Paleorca might appear closely related to the other dolphins and whales of the Ark’s oceans, but it’s certainly not as friendly. Orcinus is a fearsome pack hunter, often forming pods of up to eight individuals, in order to hunt the largest prey in the deep, dark ocean of The Center. These Orcas are agile, powerful hunters that easily hunt Megalodon, tearing off Prime Fish as easily as I could pick a flower. Their teeth seem perfectly adapted to carving their prey, and their thick skin makes them immune to all bio-electricity! Taming Orcinus is difficult, as they cannot be knocked out when surrounded by fellow Orcinus. One must be lured away or trapped, and the pod must be lured away – difficult due to their loyalty to one another! If tamed, they can be fed bio-toxin to activate their bioluminescent capabilities, turning Orcinus into an underwater flashlight! A tamed pod is a force to be reckoned with, and never stray too far from each other. They are highly intelligent, and I’ve seen them care for baby sea creatures with an aggression not yet matched by any other animal on the Ark!” Image at the bottom! Art by @gregsavvidesart - give him a websearch! -------------- Orcinius Paleorca – the bioluminescent bunch of buddies! This creature is designed to be the Allosaurus of the sea – fun on its own, but downright terrifying in a pod. Orca are top predators in our oceans (Screw you yachts!) and can always be found in a pod, preying on sharks, whales, and anything and everything else. The Orcinus will be your go-to sea tame; powerful and fast, with a focus on solo scouting and defensive capabilities to ensure Megalodon aren’t a threat, along with jellies and those blasted eels. Orcinus is fun on its own, but grab some tribemates and hop on other Orcinus, and you’ll see the benefits! The leader gets a buff which boosts other Orcinus attack rating by 10%, and increases their swim speed by a flat 15%! This applies to both ridden and unridden Orcinus, and you can easily command your fellow Orcinus to attack a target while you stay back. The ocean is a scary place on Ark, and you never know what’s lurking round the next rock stack. Thankfully, the Orcinus Paleorca have evolved to sense the largest creatures in the ocean, so prepare to be pinged like the Parasaur radar whenever they sense the fiery charge of an Alpha creature! They can toggle on a flashlight mode when loaded with bio-toxin, creating a large area of light akin to the mining helmet but more powerful! No more dark, lonely dives!! Wild Orcinus are relatively peaceful creatures when it comes to Survivors; they’re smart enough to know harpoons hurt! Whilst they wont necessarily attack swimmers out at sea, any act of aggression will bring the pod down on you, and good luck surviving that assault! Tamed Orcinus are particularly loyal to not only their rider, but to their young. They see any tamed baby sea creature as their own, and they can be set to “patrol” the area around a specific baby; this will make them enter aggression mode, and they’ll seek out anything that’s a threat within range and tear it to pieces before they even aggro your baby. They’ll then return to the baby and keep watch while you do you. The Orcinus’ eye patches lights up in the dark ocean, to act as a natural light down in the deep! Whilst this isn’t necessarily accurate, the Ark has strange ways of changing a creature! This would be infinitely useful when down in the ocean at night, as the pitch-black waters will be a little less scary with a helpful nightlight…or eight!! The deep ocean will no longer be a scary, lonely, dark place with these guys around, so long as you have plenty of bio-toxin!!- 14 replies

From the album: Dossiers
Common Name: Direwolf Species: Canis Maxdirus Time: Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: The best adjective to describe Canis Maxdirus is "scary". This pack-hunter is a cunning and brutal predator, capable of taking down prey of nearly any size. In addition to being a vicious hunter, it is the size of a small horse, meaning even the largest predators aren't necessarily safe from the packs. The species has an incredible affinity for teamwork. Unlike most creatures on the island, Canis is a dedicated pack hunter, and rarely hunts alone. In fact, Canis is naturally as effective with its packmates as most creatures are when their mate is in danger—when in a pack, they are naturally spurred to fight for their lives. Furthermore, when in a pack, the most experienced Canis will be designated "Alpha" and gain an even stronger enhancement. Domesticated: Obviously, Canis is an amazing battle mount. It is fairly fast, very strong, and agile. It can jump almost as well as the Island's battle cats. Riding a supercharged "Alpha" Canis into battle at the head of a bloodthirsty pack is a thrill for which most warriors would gladly proclaim: "Today is a good day to die!"
