Essexella - The Corrupted Floating Base
Pappazoltty posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Appearance: They are colossal, one of the largest creatures ever seen in the entire ark. While wild, they have the same aspect of a corrupted creature, but when tamed, they have the appearance of a “technological” jellyfish, with a dome composed of a tek shield. Wild: Essexella are extremely rare, and colossal in size, with an area in their central dome equivalent to an ocean shelf (if too much exaggerated, it is possible to shrink). They hover at the edge of the Ark's skies, and like the other Ark creatures, they have been corrupted by the Corrupted Nodes. They have a hold on the corrupted flying creatures that often inhabit their core. Make no mistake, though they are giants and only soar above Extinction's skies, they are fully aware of their surroundings, and can unleash the corrupted flying creatures that inhabit them when a player gets too close. Domesticated: When a tribe finally manages to subdue an Essexella, no easy task, they have access to its central dome area, extremely flat and perfect for building bases for tribes that want to hide. Its dome closes in case of danger signs, and works as a tek shield that covers the top of its head. As it is bioluminescent, this impressive animal keeps the environment always lit. In addition to the tek shield, Essexella also have an internal reactor, which works exactly like a tek generator, making the use of this structure unnecessary. Taming: Taming an Essexella is an arduous task, which only the most powerful of survivors would be able to accomplish. Being born from a fusion between an element core and corrupted nodes, this creature is extremely aggressive, but, being extremely slow, it uses its control over the corrupted creatures that inhabit its dome to attack. Domestication is actually a kind of purification of the animal, removing all that is corrupt in the creature. It has 4 pedestals at the top of its dome, 3 of them located at the ends, where the player must attach the trophy of each of the 3 titans of the Ark extinction, and one at the center, where the King Titan trophy must be deposited. Basically, when a player approaches, Essexella automatically goes into attack mode, changing the color of its light to red, and emitting a loud noise, while lowering the shields of its dome, releasing the corrupted flying creatures that dwell there. Players must then defeat all the creatures that have appeared (and yes, there are many!). When the last creature dies, players then have a period of 2 minutes to place the first titan trophy on the indicated pedestal. This pedestal is then absorbed with the trophy by Mastigias, which loses part of its corrupted side, and the taming begins. After that, she emits a new sound signal, and players have 30 seconds to leave her dome, before it closes, as she releases a poison inside the closed dome, and is lethal to all players. Again, a new horde of corrupted flying animals is spawned, and the process starts all over again. Each horde is larger than the previous one, and the level and amount of corrupted flying animals that come out of it changes according to Essexella's level. When the 3 titans' trophies are placed, Essexella will give access to its central pedestal, where players must place the King Titan's head, and finally, tame it. It then appears as an “achievement” for the tribe, which cannot tame another while it is still alive (i.e. limit of 1 Essexella per tribe). Utilities: FLOATING BASE – Essexella has a large area in its dome, 100% flat, where any structure can be positioned. Since it has no weight limit, players don't have to worry about the amount of items it carries. It is not possible to ride an Essexella, that is, it floats extremely slowly on its own, always flying over the entire map, giving players a new landscape every day. By nature, it has a resonance with the other Essexella on the map, and one does not invade the other's space limit, thus avoiding collision between bases and possible conflicts between tribes. She also cannot be frozen in a cryopod, due to her size and structure. An important detail, the Mastigias float along the top of the map, making it impossible to build higher than 1 giant gate. SELF-SUFFICIENT – Essexella have a very strong bond with the element, and because of this, they have abilities that other tek structures provide. By placing element in Essexella's inventory, she activates her skills, which are: BIOLUMINESCENCE – Essexella produce their own light, keeping their dome always illuminated. It is possible to use the behavior – light menu, to change the intensity and color of the desired light. TEK GENERATOR - With a core forged by elements, the Mastigias can produce energy by feeding on the element, the entire area above its dome is automatically powered by tek energy, having the same element consumption as a tek generator connected to its maximum power. TEK SHIELD – The dome of the Mastigias is composed of the same material as the tek shield, and provides the same defense. The element consumption is double the consumption of a normal tek shield. It has the same characteristics as a normal tek shield, taking time to spawn and protect the area. TROUGH TEK – To feed all the creatures that are loose on the Mastigias, just put the food in your inventory, and everyone will be automatically fed. Your inventory can accumulate the same amount of food as 5 tek troughs. TEK TRANSMITER – When the Mastigias are tamed, the central pedestal that is still visible can be used as a tek transmitter, eliminating the need for this structure. TEK TELEPORTER – The central pedestal of the Mastigias functions as a tek teleporter, for players only (cannot teleport creatures that are not in cryopods). To do so, just access the central pedestal console and select the teleport option. All players currently accessing the central pedestal teleport together. ELEMENT GRINDER – Has the ability to transform dust from element to element and vice versa, such as the points around the map. DEFENSES AGAINST ATTACKS - The Essexella also have a threat sensor, when active, it doubles the element consumption equivalent to the tek generator, but it is something that can be very useful. Once active, the Mastigias can survey a large area around them, and when they notice an enemy player, they emit a warning sound, change their light color to red, and activate the tek shield if it is not active yet. It also indicates the direction the threat is coming from, marking attackers, making it easier to find them. NOTE: Essexella does not take damage in its tentacle area, it is only vulnerable in the inner part of its dome. To be able to take one down, players need to have access to the dome and attack with weapons or creatures that have non-physical attacks (example: Wyverns' special attacks). Another detail, because they are always on the move (no matter how slow they are), the Essexella are always visible on the maps of the tribe's elements, thus facilitating their location. Essexella do not gain experience or levels. The level she receives when tamed will be the level she will remain. She can be fed Mutagen, but needs an exorbitant amount, but it might be worth it, as the only stat she will receive will be HP, and that's a pretty sizable boost. It is not possible to reject an Essexella to give it to another tribe. If she is rejected, she will automatically become wild and players will have 30 seconds to exit her dome or kill her, before the dome closes and she fires poison.-
