  1. 1. Artwork and My Design Idea Artwork and Dossiers above done by danger floof Art below done by Kiarra Zhenyuanlong Suni, the Peahistoric Peacock The Zheny i imagine takes on our modern day peacocks looks, specifically regarding the long tail feathers or "plumage" and the very colorful feathers over the body, and rather than only displaying for mating or intimidation like modern peafowl the Zheny uses its crystal or gem infused luminescent fanning of plumage to hypnotize and lure in its prey, a lot like the Mesmer in Subnautica, those who fall prey to the mesmerizing effects of its gorgeous light show, find themselves unable to move as the Zheny slowly creeps towards its victim to begin eating it alive (Females use sound to hypnotize since they have no plumage like males) both genders of Zheny look different just like the modern day peafowl Rare Male Variant: All White Zheny with red eyes on the plumage Males: Will have longer tail feathers, and a larger frame Females: Will have Shorter Tail feathers, but more head crest feathers than the male Table Of Contents: 1. Artwork and My Design idea 2. Dossier 3. Abilities/Controls 4. Taming and Spawn Zones 5. Wiki Info and Links 2. Dossier Common name: Zhenyuanlong Species: Zhenyuanlong Suni Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild : Zhenyuanlong Suni is quite possibly one of the most stunning animals I have ever laid my eyes on. Its hypnotically beautiful feather display is sure to send anything, man or beast, into a trance. The male Zhenyuanlong seem to be fully aware of their beauty status, as they obsessively try to maintain their pristine appearance. They can even be seen using the reflection of the water to look at themselves. If you play your cards right, you might be able to use this to your advantage! Domesticated: If one can manage to pull a male Zheny away from the mirror, it can prove to be quite the good companion. Not only can it use its beautiful tail fan to put similarly sized creatures into a hypnotic trance, but it seems to be the only way to obtain a female Zheny! Female Zhenyuanlong seem to be unaffected by standard tranquilizers, and the reflection method doesn’t seem to work on them either. This would have to be my best guess as to how someone would obtain one. One unusual quirk of the Zheny is their affinity for crystals. I’ve been unable to pinpoint the exact reason they collect these crystals, but I would guess it would have to do with their courtship ritual. 3. Abilities/Controls Passive: Speed and damage are major categories in this creature's abilities, Zheny has lightning-fast turning based on how much acceleration it gets, it can dive down and slide on the surface of the ground almost like you're skiing or drifting, a lot like the andrewsarchus! Space/A/X: Potential for flight or a regular jump Left Click/RT/R2 is a basic bite dealing about the same damage as a max level Raptor would do Right Click/LT/L2 is a claw attack dealing bleed as well as harvesting crystal with its sharp claws CTRL/RS/R3 is the Hypnotic Display (will work on survivors and wild, mounted or unmounted tames no bigger than shadowmane) the display would light up one eye at a time from the body to the tip of the feather and repeating, gif linked at the end for the example for the light show, the zheny requires gems or crystal in its inventory when tamed, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) if not the light show idea then slowly waving the feathers left to right The only ways to resist the Hypnotic effects is A: Have it run circles around you causing it to make itself dizzy or B: to have a tribemate hurt you or have a loud sounding object such as a cannon or loud gun, to snap you out of the trance from there on, you may begin to run away or trap your potential Zheny if you dont have a tribemate, and you have the Zheny you want, make sure to place a small bear trap in front of you, and as its walking towards you while your in trance, the trap will snap, distracting the Zheny long enough to stop displaying and let you run or trap it to tame 4. Taming and Spawn Zones Male Taming Method: The Zheny LOVES the way it looks, so the only true way to tame it, is quite a lot like medusa, make it look into a mirror, so bring multiple, and while its attempting to hypnotize you, it will take a look into the mirror, and hypnotize itself from there, it will continue its display until its Luminescent feathers end up shattering the mirror, breaking its own trance, this will bring its taming bar up to anywhere from 10% to 20% per mirror, depends on the health of the mirror and what level the Zheny is eventually, it'll obey your every command Female Method: The only way to tame a female Zheny is by using your Male Zheny to "court" the females in the surrounding area, normally spawning in groups of 2 or 3, once you have isolated the female you want, display those feathers, every 10%-20% tamed, she will try to attack you or flee, do not fight back or run, and do not give chase, if you attempt to run, she will see your male as a coward and ignore your attempts at taming for about 10 minutes IRL time, if you fight back, same results as running crystals or gems are required to mate as well, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) Island: Redwoods Center: Redwoods and Underworld Ragnarok: Redwoods Aberration: Fertile and Bio-Luminescent Zones Extinction: Sunken Forest Valguero: N/A(because of deinonychus being there) Gen 1: Swamp Crystal Isles: Redwoods, Cherry Blossom Forest, Floating Islands Gen 2: Rockwell's Garden and Eden Lost Island: Redwoods Fjord: Vanaheim 5. Wiki info+Links Zhenyuanlong (meaning "Zhenyuan's dragon", from Chinese Pinyin 龙/龍 lóng "dragon") is a genus of dromaeosaurid dinosaur from the Yixian Formation of Liaoning, China. It lived during the Aptian age of the early Cretaceous period, approximately 125 million years ago. It is known from a single specimen belonging to the species Zhenyuanlong suni. This type specimen preserved a nearly complete skeleton that contains traces of feathers, including long tail feathers and large wings. In addition to further complicating diversity of Liaoning dromaeosaurids, this specimen provides the first evidence of well-developed pennaceous feathers in a large, non-flying dromaeosaur, raising the question of what function such wings would serve. Zhenyuanlong would have been about 165 centimetres (5.41 ft) long when complete. With the added length of long tail feathers, the animal was perhaps up to 2 metres (6.6 ft) in life. Example of how the hypnosis would work below https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhenyuanlong
  2. Art Commissioned from RiskyBiscuits Name: Chasmosaurus Species: Chasmosaurus Antirupption Time: Cretaceous Temperament: Neutral But Aggressive to Corrupted Wild The Corrupted Creatures of the Wasteland would have killed me if it weren’t for Chasmosaurus. The Large Ceratopsian came charging at the Corrupted without hesitation killing them easily without a care in the world. It also seems to help other creatures that are attacked by the Corrupted, giving almost a morale boost. They only seem to attack Corrupted so maybe one could earn Chasmosaurus Trust by fighting the Corrupted with it. Domesticated If you can tame Chasmosaurus, I’d imagine a Powerful creature that can handle large hordes of Corrupted will be at your disposal. Their large frill might also help soak up large amounts of damage from the front and protect the rider as well. The Morale boost it does in the Wild could work with your other tames as well making them stronger and more resistant to the Corrupted Creatures of our Desolate Planet’s Wastelands… Abilities: Left Click: Head Smash Right Click: Morale Roar C: Roar for Cosmetics Chasmosaurus has large damage reduction & output when fighting Corrupted Creatures When Chasmosaurus kills a corrupted creature, it will gain a buff similar to the Megatherium but for Corrupted Creatures, increasing damage output & resistance for a period of time as long as it kills corrupted creatures. The damage resistance & damage output can also be increased by constantly killing Corrupted Creatures gains stacks similar to the Carcha (Max: 100 stacks) The Morale Roar boosts Ally creatures/survivors with damage output and resistant to Corrupted Creatures Taming: When you see a Wild Chasmosaurus fighting Corrupted Creatures, you must help Chasmosaurus kill them. If you land the final blow, Chasmo will allow you to ride it. From there, it’s similar to Carcha but you only gain taming progress from killing Corrupted Creatures. Taking damage reduces taming effectiveness. Saddle: Lv 60 Pros: Can Kill Corrupted by dealing more damage to them than any other creature & takes reduced damage from them as well, Rex Tier Herbivore when not fighting Corrupted, Damage reduction from Front Cons: Slow, Can not hit creatures behind it/turn fast enough to hit them, Morale Roar only works against Corrupted creatures
  3. Gorgonoceras, the vampiric aquatic supporter that heals and buffs with spilled blood! Gorgonoceras, a basilo-sized aquatic supporter that does its supporting in a more interesting and active fashion than what we're used to in ASE. Dwelling exclusively within the abyssal depths of The Center's eastern ocean, Gorgonoceras swims around within the depths, luring in prey with enticing bioluminescence before brutally cutting and slicing with its sharp shell protrusions and needle-like tentacle tips, before feasting on the freshly spilled blood. Basically most, if not all of its abilities are based around blood. Throwing my hat in the ring with my own submission, something that normally has a similar to appearance to the more well known cameroceras. The first thing I think of when I think of the center, is the abyssal region in the eastern ocean, and how underused it is. Of course, being an abyssal region it had to be something that looked terrifying. So after some brainstorming with some good friends of mine, we came up with Gorgonoceras ABILITIES Armored Shell: Gorgonoceras' armored shell helps it naturally take reduced damage, and its sharp shell protrusions could possibly even reflect melee damage! Basic attacks: Its basic attacks include lashing with its two longer tentacles, a short charge forwards to cut things with its shell, and spinning itself in an almost drill-like fashion to cause deep wounds and lacerations on your foes. Bleeding: Most of Gorgonoceras' attacks causes its victim to bleed, which could do a damage over time effect, but its main purpose is to create clouds of blood. Blood Clouds: The blood clouds created by Gorgonoceras can give a healing effect to allies who sit in the cloud. It doesn't stop there though, as it can suck up the blood through special organs in its shell, and store it within its body to redistribute the cloud elsewhere, or use it for a few other abilities. Adrenaline Blood Cloud: By mixing the stored blood with a special chemical produced in its body, the Gorgonoceras can create a blood cloud that gives its allies an adrenaline effect, increasing damage, speed and resistance for a time after entering it. This cloud lasts less time than the normal healing cloud, so be sure to get your boost quickly and go put the adrenaline to good use! Tentacle Needle Injections: An alternative method of healing, the Gorgonoceras can use the hyperdermic-needle like tips of its tentacles to inject its allies with blood directly, giving them a small instant heal and a heal over time that is much better than the blood cloud. However while the blood cloud can heal as many creatures as you can fit in it, the injection is single target, but far more potent. Tentacle Needle Extractions: Thats a mighty healthy looking mosasaur your friend has, simply ask to borrow some of its blood! If there are no enemies nearby to fill up your blood reserves, good ask your friend for some willing donations to fill up your blood reserves! Paralyzing Stun/"Petrification": While not actual petrification, victims often feel like they've been turned to stone. By using a set of bioluminescent patterns in the shape of eyes on its inner tentacle flaps, Gorgonoceras can paralyze targets in fear and use the opportunity to extract more blood. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TAMING: Gorgonoceras must be knocked out like most traditional tames, however its shell makes it highly resistant to traditional tranqing methods. Thus, you must feed your own aquatic creatures narcotics or biotoxin, and allow the wild Gorgonoceras to take its blood and it will begin to gain torpor. Once unconscious, its a fairly standard taming method, requiring blood or kibble to tame. High health creature like mosasaur or tuso are recommended, as you'll need to take a pretty significant beating in order to tame one! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The bioluminescent patterns of gorgonoceras ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DOSSIER (In text form for easier reading) Common name: Gorgonoceras Species name: Gorgonoceras sanguiefialtis Time: Devonian Diet: Sanguinivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Gorgonoceras sanguiefialtis is certainly one of the most unique life forms within the arks ocean. Dwelling in only the deepest parts of the sea, this sanguinivore feasts on the blood of its victim by poking them with its needle-like tentacle tips and razor sharp shell. Just to top off the freakish nature of this cephalopod, it can paralyze most creatures in fear using a special bioluminescent pattern it flashes at its foes. Domesticated: Taming one of these unique vampiric cephalopods is no easy feat, but a few determined survivors have accomplished the daunting task. Its shell renders it immune to most methods of tranquilization, so creative survivors injected their own creatures with narcotics and allowed gorgonoceras to feast on its blood, causing it to injest the tranquilizing blood and knocking it unconscious. Survivors who manage to sate this vampire will find themselves with a powerful ally and surprisingly good combat medic. Side note: Despite their "vampiric" nature, garlic does not seem to have much effect on them. Some survivors found this out the hard way. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Design process: For my fellow nerds who're more interested in the creation process, here's a little insight into said process! While I know there are a fair few people who think of the creature first and the abilities afterwards, I do the opposite. I like to think of a general niche or gimmick, and reverse engineer to a creature that would fit well. I love the abyssal region of the center however it is extremely unfinished and underutilized in ASE, so doing and ocean creature for the scary depths of the eastern ocean seemed like a no brainer. Next, I knew I wanted an oceanic supporter, but how do I make something that helps you, terrifying? Why, letting it support you by giving you the blood of your enemies to your allies of course! After asking my good friend Dragon Grimoire for a couple ancient oceanic creatures, we narrowed it down to a few candidates and eventually settled on Gorgonoceras. With some artistic help from my friend RRG, he was able to bring the image of Gorgonoceras to life and make what is normally a pretty silly looking cephalopod, to something you DON'T want to encounter in the pitch black abyss. From there, we polished ability and visual design ideas for awhile and began to finalize everything for the submission! (With the new contest ruling I want to clarify this is NOT a submission from RRG, he merely helped me with the art. The concept and ideas were made by me)
  4. Introducing Coelophysis, Pet Assassin and Mutation Booster! Tags: Mutation Booster, Unique Colors, Assassin, Pathing, Protective Pet Introduction: The foundational ideas, selling points and roles of these creatures are: Mutation Booster: Ability to boost mutation rates of nearby creatures Granting unique, vibrant, (perhaps even glowy ) colors to creatures mutated by Coelophysis Stealthy Assassin: Able to use ASA pathing to find its way through bases to get to a target Being able to pass by turrets, alarms and creatures Has a special armor that allows them to be remotely controlled by a player Ability to largely ignore a players armor when attacking them, by constricting them Protective Pet: Immunity to torpor, radiation and other effects Protective tail scarf against toxins, gas and environment when on your shoulder Dossier: Common Name: Coelo Species: Coelophysis medens Time: Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: Coelophysis medens is a little scoundrel hiding behind a cute appearance. This clever opportunist always goes after the weakest target possible, and when they act in groups, they dare target bigger prey - as long as it's weak and vulnerable. When a creature is small enough, Coelophysis has a unique way to kill it: it wraps its thick, tail around its victim's neck and strangles it, after sneaking behind the target. Moreover, killing one can be tricky, due to its ability to regrow lost tissues like a lizard. Could it be any more mischievous? Domesticated: As annoying as they are in the wild, Coelophysis turn into smart, versatile helpers, once tamed. First of all, they're small and stealthy, which means they can be taught to sneak into bases and strangle enemy survivors with their tail. Maybe they could even hide explosives while everyone's looking away! Also, that tail makes quite the pretty scarf, an effective cover from poison gas and hazardous environments. But a tamed Coelophysis' true value lies in its healing properties. I'm still not sure how they do it, but whatever allows them to regenerate so fast speeds up your own healing as well. Additionally, it seems to alter the genetic makeup of unborn baby creatures, causing their pigments to mutate. Wild: Wild Coelophysis are very elusive, and normally avoid risk, running away from larger creatures. Watch out, they are very fast and hard to spot after they run away! Other wild creatures also almost never attack them, unless Coelophysis attacks them first. When a player approaches them though, they will attempt to jump onto the players neck, constricting them and damaging them. You will have to move erratically to shake them off. Coelophysis spawn in the Underworld. They are quite rare (similar to Basilisk), and may spawn in groups of 2-4. Taming Process: Coelophysis requires you to prove your worth in a tame, and show you are a valuable companion to it, in contrary to the regular torpor taming method, as Coelophysis is immune to it. To do this, you will have to knock out large WILD creatures to the point that Coelo can kill it. The more health the creature has, the more taming this would provide. Tamed Abilities: Mutation Booster: Boosting Cells: Coelophysis has evolved to gain special stem cells that can be transferred to other creatures. This will boost the mutation rate of nearby creatures depending on the oxygen stat of the Coelophysis. The stats of which the mutation rate is boosted can be set by the player, so that you won't have to sift through as many creatures. Unique Colors: These special mutations can also give some rare, unique, vibrant colors to creatures that are only possible through mutating with Coelophysis. Some of these colors may even glow Stealthy Assassin: Undetectable: Coelophysis is largely undetectable to many threats, like wild creatures, tamed creatures set to aggressive, traps and alarms, turrets and Parasaur alarms. Assassin: Using new ASA creature pathfinding, the Coelophysis can find its way through structures, builds and terrain to find a nearby player. It can even hop on the backs of creatures to attack a player. When it reaches a player, it will start attacking them with its special Constricting Tail. Constricting Tail: When attacking players, Coelophysis can jump on their necks and constrict a player. This will drain their health directly, and will be only minimally effected by armor, allowing the Coelophysis to kill even heavily armored players that do not see it coming. Remote Control Armor: The player can equip Flak, Riot and Tek armor to Coelophysis to boost their armor. A camera can be attached to the Riot and Tek variants of this special Coelophysis armor, allowing them to be controlled remotely. The Tek form of this armor also allows them to temporarily stun players they jump onto, and disable any nearby electronics for a limited time, similar to a Scorched Earth electrical storm. Protective Pet: Protective Scarf: When on a players shoulder, the tail of the Coelophysis acts like a gas mask, protecting you from the environment and toxins, like those of Cnidarias stings, Arthropleuras acid and Araneos webs. Healing Beacon: On your shoulder, Coelophysis provides you with an increased healing speed, and is able to passively give you a healing burst when it notices you are low on health. Immunity: Coelophysis is fully immune to radiation, torpor and other toxins/poisons (like spores and jellyfish stuns). Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Coelophysis is incredibly useful in the mutating of creatures, as it can provide a boost to the mutation rate of creatures. We all know how frustrating it can be to take extremely long waiting for a new mutation to pop out, and Coelophysis will provide a bit of help in that process. Besides the boosted rates, Coelophysis can also cause mutations with more vibrant colors, fully unique to any creatures of the ARK, providing you with very special and personalized creatures. In caves, Coelophysis will provide a lot of help, as they can protect like a gas mask would, and protect you from harmful effects like that of the acid of the wild Arthropleura, the webs of Araneos and the rabies given by pesky Onycs. Not only this, but it can also provide a burst of quick healing when you are on low health, saving you some of your precious medical brews. PvP: Coelophysis provides a whole new aspect to a PvP fight. Although they are not incredibly powerful brawlers, they can sneak past most defenses of bases, allowing them to still deal valuable damage to enemies. They are completely undetectable to turrets and parasaurs, and can sneak past aggressive tamed creatures if done carefully. It can be remotely controlled for valuable information, without being automatically gunned down. Once inside a base, it can easily kill an unprepared player, and can even kill them through very powerful armor. This makes them very valuable assets in raids and can even find a use in defending a base, using Coelophysis to jump unprepared players on creatures. Conclusion: Coelophysis would be a refreshing and interesting addition to ARKs creature roster, allowing for new strategies in PvP, granting much quality of life in PvE and PvP, and gives more unique customisation to your most cherished creatures, in the form of new and exciting colors. Have fun, survivors! Credits: Art: RiskyBiscuits, Creator of Fasolasuchus Structure: DynastyOfDragons Concept: RiskyBiscuits, TheFictionalLawyer, Mihael
  5. Greetings everyone! Just wanted to give a shoutout to all the amazing people for your love and support for this creature! I know many have suggested the Giant Cheetah would be better off on another map other than the Center, and Team Cheetah definitely agrees! That's why we will definitely return for the following maps: EXTINCTION CRYSTAL ISLES VALGUERO GENESIS: PART 2 and maybe FJORDUR if they do one? The reasoning? More wide-open spaces for everyone to run around on! And while this vote carries forward, Team Cheetah is constantly updating and refining our beautiful speedster with the people's suggestions to heart so that it's not just our Giant Cheetah, it's EVERYONE'S Giant Cheetah! Though we may not win this vote, we still have the future to look forward to! And definitely check out everyone else's creatures that they submitted! Seriously! The creators need all the love and support they can get! Not a single person is a village, so let's all make it together to the finish line! Love, the fastest coalition on the planet, -TEAM CHEETAH (PS- FUN FACT! A group of Cheetah's are known as a coalition!) Common Name: Giant Cheetah Species: Acinonyx pardinensis Time: Early Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Evasive and Opportunistic Wild Acinonyx pardinensis is the epitome of the need for speed. They can turn on a dime thanks to their cleat-like feet, evading any obstacles that lie in their path. They will ambush and chase their prey until they catch up and trip them, stunning them until they go for the kill. Despite being the speed demon that it is, the Acinonyx isn’t the best fighter. In fact, they would rather abandon their meal than have to face any other predator that comes to claim it. But in their wake, they’ll leave a blinding trail of dust that will ensure a clean getaway. Domesticated Acinonyx are quite difficult to tame due to their wariness of predators. Not only that, but their incredible stamina also prevents tranquilizers from slowing them down. However, I have seen other Survivors lay carcasses of creatures out in the open, and if no other predators are around, they’ll come out for a bite. These wonderful cats make for great travel companions. Though not one for confrontation, the Acinonyx has developed a “cat sense” that allows it to evade attacks with ease, if timed right. And with the confidence of their rider, they can even immobilize creatures much larger than themselves by running around them with tethers that wrap around the legs, causing the creatures to trip and fall. There’s also a Tribe that has attached special webbed “mitts” to their Acinonyx that allows them to dash across water, for a brief period. I’ve also noticed other Tribes pair their Acinonyx with Dire Wolves. I’ve never seen a cat more comfortable with a canine before, but it seems like the Dire Wolves benefit from the relationship with a boost to their speed. Details PVE The fastest land creature on the ARK, even faster than Gallimimus! Can make 90-degree turns without slowing down. Has high stats in Stamina, Speed and very high Torpidity, and average stats in Weight, Melee Damage and Health Can perform a “speed burst” at the cost of using up extra Stamina. Has a “cat sense”, allowing it to dodge close-quarters attacks when zooming past; though it must be timed right Has a tripping mechanic that can immobilize small creatures or Survivors like a bola; shown in the form of a swiping motion similar to the Griffin; can be used while running without slowing down (has a cooldown) Just like the Equus, Survivors can craft a Tether in the Giant Cheetah’s inventory and run around targets much larger than itself and tie their legs up, immobilizing them for a short period of time. The larger the creature, the more laps you’ll have to run (similar to Pokémon Ranger). Watch out walkers! Can use its momentum and evasive maneuvers to slam into larger targets, reducing their speed significantly (great for catching up to and slowing down wild creatures that are close to being knocked out!) (also has a cooldown) Wild and tamed individuals can immobilize your mount if it is below a certain drag weight, but you won’t be dismounted; wild Giant Cheetahs will flee if down to half health or if larger predators come in the vicinity. Alternative: Wild and tamed can immobilize and knock you off your mount Riding a Giant Cheetah can allow Survivors to lock on to targets as they are running so they don’t miss when shooting with a Crossbow or Longneck Rifle. Will leave a dust cloud in its wake to deter aggressors. Eat my dust! Pairing with Dire Wolves allows them to have a Pack bonus that boosts their Melee, and the Dire Wolves will have a boost to their Speed! Will have an extra imprint bonus if raised with Dire Wolf pups. Saddle has option to equip webbed mitts that allow traversal across water for a few seconds Can SNUGGLE! PVP Great for scouting ahead or even catching up to scouts and immobilizing them Can immobilize threats for a short period during raids (see the Tether mechanic in PVE) Can place down explosives like C4 while running Can pick up dropped bags or items while running for quick “dash and grabs” Can evade attacks when timed right (has a cooldown for balancing) Taming Remove all threats in the area (mainly aggressive or carnivorous creatures) Kill a creature and drag it out in the open and lie in wait (Ghillie armor works best!) The Giant Cheetah will come out and feed on the carcass, similar to a Fjordhawk. The more bites the more progress it makes! Will flee if another predator approaches. TEK Saddle Grants Giant Cheetah increased Speed and more Stamina. Can create after-images of itself to confuse opponents (like Double Team in Pokémon!) Dust clouds made will include an EMP burst that can mess with electronics and TEK gear. Can strafe and evade in any direction, similar to how Tapejara move. Can traverse across water with ease (based on the Jesus-Christ Lizard!) Can have a speed burst just like the TEK Leggings allow, breaking through rocks and trees with ease! Being the fastest land mammal in modern day, I think the Giant Cheetah would be a prime choice for any biomes with flat terrain and wide-open spaces. Plus, I think we need more cats in ARK, right? Though the Giant Cheetah was slower than modern cheetahs due to their proportional size, we can still imagine this wonderful creature as the fastest thing in the land. The Giant Cheetah can be used for scouting as well as being a fast and annoying distraction in PVP. Like cheetahs today, they could make a 90-degree turn to catch prey off guard and trip them so they can go in for the kill. I also had the fun idea that Survivors can leave behind a grenade, C4 or something (if timed right) once they hit that 90-degree turn. This may have a cooldown after turning several times. The Giant Cheetah could alternatively leave a dust cloud that can blind enemies for a quick getaway. As mentioned before, the Giant Cheetah will be built for speed, not power. You could chip away at enemies with the bomb run or quick swipes, but it would be preferred that you keep your kitty as alive as possible. Like the Equus, it can make a rope-like “Tether” that you can hook onto larger creatures and wrap around their legs as you run in laps around them and they will eventually become immobilized, creating a perfect opportunity to tranquilize a fleeing creature or topple a towering opponent. And the larger the creature, the more laps you’ll have to make around the creature. Watch out AT-ATs! And what’s more is that it can have a “cat sense” that’ll allow it to evade enemy attacks with ease (this may have a cooldown as well). You could also pick up items as you pass over them if you enable it for easy grabbing, especially if you’ve died recently and are in dangerous territory and you need to grab your dropped gear as quickly as possible. The Giant Cheetah would be a passive tame. First you should clear the area of any threats, aggressive predators or herbivores, and then kill a creature and drag it out in the open. The bigger the better. Then throw on some Ghillie armor (and maybe Bug Repellant?) and just lie in wait until it comes closer and feasts. The more bites it can take the better. Repeat the process until you've tamed your own Giant Cheetah! And with it tamed a tamed Acinonyx could receive a pack bonus from nearby Dire Wolves, or better yet, have an imprinted bond with an individual Dire Wolf so it’ll have increased stats with them, making it crucial to breed the best Dire Wolf possible to pair with a recently tamed or bred Giant Cheetah. Just have a Dire Wolf in proximity with the Giant Cheetah and it’ll give the option to pair, or once one is born, it’ll pair with the closest Dire Wolf. And because the Giant Cheetah is faster and may go further than the wolves, its bond range will be larger than other pack bonuses, making it ideal for PVP situations. (The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is famous for it's cheetah conservation program and newborn cheetahs are usually paired with a domesticated puppy to help show them the ropes and be a service dog since cheetahs have somewhat similar behaviors to canines! Just like Kris (right) and Remus (left) here!) A tamed Giant Cheetah could also be a great taming mount, giving its rider a lock-on mechanic for easy aiming as well as the ability to trip wild or domesticated creatures as if it were a bola. The saddle also has the option to equip webbed mitts that allow the Giant Cheetah to traverse across water for a few seconds! And for endgame, a Tek saddle could be given to it that’ll not only make it go faster, but give it the capability to strafe and evade with ease in every direction, even make afterimages of itself to confuse enemies. You can even run and walk across water and speed burst through rocks and trees like the TEK leggings! The Giant Cheetah would be found in open areas where there is plenty of room to run around, like the savanna or open plains. They'll go after any creatures that won't fight back, or at least won't hurt it as much. If it takes enough damage, it'll flee. As for design, let’s give it the "King Cheetah" look, a color variant of modern cheetah that features recessive melanistic genes! Also, the cubs look incredibly cute! They chirp like birds and are little balls of fluff! And better yet, adults and babies have the option to snuggle up to you! And to top things off, here's a demonstration from the world's fastest cheetah, Sarah, from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! If anyone has any other thoughts, feel free to comment below! Also, should we name the Giant Cheetah Acinonyx celeritadaemon (“speed demon” in Latin)? I’ll let you all decide! 6. 1. Artwork and My Design Idea Zhenyuanlong Suni, the Peahistoric Peacock The Zheny i imagine takes on our modern day peacocks looks, specifically regarding the long tail feathers or "plumage" and the very colorful feathers over the body, and rather than only displaying for mating or intimidation like modern peafowl the Zheny uses its luminescent fanning of plumage to hypnotize and lure in its prey, a lot like the Mesmer in Subnautica, those who fall prey to the mesmerizing effects of its gorgeous light show, find themselves unable to move as the Zheny slowly creeps towards its victim to begin eating it alive (Females use sound to hypnotize since they have no plummage like males) both genders of Zheny look different just like the modern day peafowl Males: Will have longer tail feathers, and a larger frame Females: Will have Shorter Tail feathers, but more head crest feathers than the male Table Of Contents: 1. Artwork and My Design idea 2. Partial Dossier 3. Abilities/Controls 4. Taming 5. Space/A/X: Potential for flight or a regular jump Left Click/RT/R2 is a basic bite dealing about the same damage as a max level Raptor would do Right Click/LT/L2 is a claw attack dealing bleed as well as harvesting crystal with its sharp claws CTRL/RS/R3 is the Hypnotic Display (will work on survivors and wild, mounted or unmounted tames no bigger than shadowmane) the display would light up one eye at a time from the body to the tip of the feather and repeating, minecraft video linked at the end for the example for the light show, the zheny requires gems or crystal in its inventory when tamed, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) if not the light show idea then slowly waving the feathers left to right The only ways to resist the Hypnotic effects is A: Have it run circles around you causing it to make itself dizzy or B: to have a tribemate hurt you or have a loud sounding object such as a cannon or loud gun, to snap you out of the trance from there on, you may begin to run away or trap your potential Zheny if you dont have a tribemate, and you have the Zheny you want, make sure to place a small bear trap in front of you, and as its walking towards you while your in trance, the trap will snap, distracting the Zheny long enough to stop displaying and let you run or trap it to tame 4. Taming Male Taming Method: The Zheny LOVES the way it looks, so the only true way to tame it, is quite a lot like medusa, make it look into a mirror, so bring multiple, and while its attempting to hypnotize you, it will take a look into the mirror, and hypnotize itself from there, it will continue its display until its Luminescent feathers end up shattering the mirror, breaking its own trance, this will bring its taming bar up to anywhere from 10% to 20% per mirror, depends on the health of the mirror and what level the Zheny is eventually, it'll obey your every command Female Method: The only way to tame a female Zheny is by using your Male Zheny to "court" the females in the surrounding area, normally spawning in groups of 2 or 3, once you have isolated the female you want, display those feathers, every 10%-20% tamed, she will try to attack you or flee, do not fight back or run, and do not give chase, if you attempt to run, she will see your male as a coward and ignore your attempts at taming for about 10 minutes IRL time, if you fight back, same results as running crystals or gems are required to mate as well, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) 5.
  7. Irritator Aqualatrare! Wild A creature with a most fitting name, Irritator Aqualatrare is a medium sized carnivore. These voracious pack hunters hang out around other Spinosaurids. Upon discovering their prey, Irritator first bark at the target repeatedly. This insistent barking appears to both lower their prey's guard, and call other nearby spinosaurids to their aid. Irritator's aggression towards survivors appears to be quelled when survivors approach on or with their own spinosaurids. An intrepid survivor may even hunt with Irritator in order to gain its trust. Domesticated Irritator Aqualatrare has niche use as a mount, allowing their rider to safely move around other spinosaurids. It's smaller stature prevents it from being proficient at carrying weight or fighting alone. Where Irritator truly excels is in its unique ability to empower a tribes nearby spinosaurids as if they were part of the pack. Survivors can also use Irritator's bark to weaken their foes. Meet the Irrirtator A smaller carnivore, they are typically found roaming near rivers, swamps, anywhere baryonx and spinosaurus roam. Slower and weaker than raptors, their wild power comes from their ability to drop your defenses and call spinosaurids to their aid. The Bark Irritator packs begin combat by "barking" at their target from a medium distance, this process takes a few seconds but applies a defense debuff to the target. The power of the bark depends on how many irritator participate with a cap around ~3 irritators. The Pack Irritator's pack buff is quite minor, only providing a small attack & defense increase. Nearby allied baryonx and spinosaurus (Wild spinosaurids for wild irritator) are welcomed into an irritator pack, providing them with the same bonuses and an additional one. Spinosaurus and Baryonx gain a DOT bleed effect to barked targets while in an irritator pack- a devastating combo. The Mount Irritator is essentially a raptor that can swim as far as mounts go- albeit slower on land. It has a niche benefit of not drawing the aggro of any wild spinosaurids when ridden. This could allow you to slip by large threats without needing to fight. If riding the alpha of the pack, you can initiate the "barking" by right clicking while looking at a valid target. The Taming Irritator are naturally aggressive towards players, however, if a player is near or riding a spinosaurid themself the irritator is neutral. While they are neutral you are able to assist their hunting in order to gain their trust. Killing creatures they "bark" at will progress taming. This includes while they bark, allowing you a few seconds to kill the target before the Irritator even get close to it. Hopefully making for a fun taming process!
  8. Introducing Coelophysis, Pet Assassin and Mutation Booster! Tags: Mutation Booster, Unique Colors, Assassin, Pathing, Protective Pet, Shoulder Healer Disclaimer: This dossier is not fully completed, as you can see by the empty space. I will update this later. Introduction: The foundational ideas, selling points and roles of these creatures are: Mutation Booster: Ability to boost mutation rates of nearby creatures Granting unique, vibrant, (perhaps even glowy ) colors to creatures mutated by Coelophysis Stealthy Assassin: Able to use ASA pathing to find its way through bases to get to a target Being able to pass by turrets, alarms and creatures (keep in mind it is Dilo size) Has a special armor that allows them to be remotely controlled by a player Ability to largely ignore a players armor when attacking them, by constricting them Protective Pet: Immunity to torpor, radiation and other effects Can heal the player when it is on your shoulder Protective tail scarf against toxins, gas and environment when on your shoulder Dossier: Common Name: Coelo Species: Coelophysis medens Time: Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Opportunistic Wild: Coelophysis medens is a little scoundrel hiding behind a cute appearance. This clever opportunist always goes after the weakest target possible, and when they act in groups, they dare target bigger prey - as long as it's weak and vulnerable. When a creature is small enough, Coelophysis has a unique way to kill it: it wraps its thick tail around its victim's neck and strangles it, after sneaking behind the target. Moreover, killing one can be tricky, due to its ability to regrow lost tissues like a lizard. Could it be any more mischievous. Coelophysis spawn in the bioluminescent zone, the elemental falls, and rarely in the fertile zone. They are quite rare (similar to Basilisk), and may spawn in groups of 2-4 Taming Process: Coelophysis requires you to prove your worth in a tame, and show you are a valuable companion to it, in contrary to the regular torpor taming method, as Coelophysis is immune to it. To do this, you will have to knock out large WILD creatures to the point that Coelo can kill it. The more health the creature has, the more taming this would provide. Tamed Abilities: Mutation Booster: Boosting Cells: Coelophysis has evolved to withstand the dangerous radiation of Aberration, and has gained special stem cells that can be transferred to other creatures.
  9. Greetings, friends. The purpose of the Sinornitho submission is to add a unique creature into the game that shows the power of being in a group by featuring new attributes and abilities. The Sinornitho takes a unique Family aspect, important when it comes to breeding, taming and fighting. It combines that with a perfectly skilled traveler and venomous killer. Sinornithosaurus, when it existed, was a superior killing machine, bearing toxic poison as well as gliding feather. I believe Aberration is the perfect map for this fantastic little critter. It has the potential to bring a very unique experience to the game. Please remember that while Wildcard takes inspiration from the winning creature, they may change any of the features and abilities suggested here. Thanks you for your support and survive on, friends! Contents: 1 – Artwork & Dossier text 2 – Spawning (in the wild) 3 – Taming & Food 4 – Attacks/Abilities 5 – Potential Base Stats 6 – Appearance 7 – Families Artwork. This dossier was custom-made to give you an idea of a possible in-game dossier. SINORNITHO Species: Sinornithosaurus venenum Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Aggressive (trusting) Wild: If you are wandering in the deep dark forests of this ARK, you may hear the rustle of feathers on the breeze. Then you feel an unbearable pain of fangs sinking into your shoulder and you take your last look up into the vicious jaws of the Sinornitho. These small raptors live exclusively in family groups. Each member of the group shares an unbreakable bond of friendship with other members. Domesticted: Survivors must be a bit mental to try and tame these squirrelly, toxic little critters. However, they can be quite trusting, you just need to spend some time to form a bond with a family. They like to stick together, so failing to bond with one equals a fail to bond with the entire family. Their flight feathers make Sinornitho an efficient glider. The venom of Sinornitho is a very pot killing machine. Even more so than the Titanboa's Thankfully, you’d only have a few minutes to feel the pain…. ☠ Spawning. Sinornitho spawns in every Biome except the Surface. They will sometime hang on large trees or vertical surfaces like a Thylacoleo or Rock Drake, leaving to attack victims. Sinornitho always spawn in groups of 4, with at least one male and female. Each that spawn together will be in a designated Family. A Family member will only aid a Sinornitho in the same pack in battle. See below for more on Families. Agrroing. Sinornitho only aggro onto the same creatures that a Dilophosaurus would. When attacking, they will in fact bite until their victim has maximum Venom stacks on it. Then they will follow the victim, staying a distance away and not attacking. They will retreat if needed to stay a distance away. When the victim dies from the Venom, they feed. This tactic is used onto by wild Sinornitho that aren’t being tamed. Taming & Food. When it comes to taming, you cannot just tame a single member, you must tame a Family, even if the Family has lost 1 or more members. Taming a Sinornitho Family is similar to Imprinting a baby dino, but you must “Imprint” an entire Family. First, you must locate a Family or a member. Do not attack them at any time during taming! If you do, they will become untamable until they lose aggro on you. It is highly suggested you tame these creatures on foot. When you locate 1 or more members of a Family, crouch. If you are in a crouch position, Sinornitho, instead of attacking immediately, will move directly up to and wait for 20 seconds before attacking. In this time, you must bond with it by pressing [E]. Once you do so, the entire Family will move to you, no matter how far away they are. If more than one Family member approaches you at the start, you only need to bond with one member to attract the others. The family will now follow you around and behave almost like a tame on attack target and low following distance (damage to a Sinornitho does not ruin the taming effectiveness… unless it’s you who attacks!). After the first member is bonded with, you must then complete 4 tasks. Each task is random out of 3 possibilities. Each success gives you 25% more taming progress, and progress can’t decrease (unless you ruin it). If you fail even one task, you fail the entire taming attempt, the Sinornitho attack, and you will probably die a terrible death. Unless you manage to escape render distance, return, crouch again, and start all over. But you will rarely escape without making your last wheezing breaths, so don’t fail. Once the first member is bonded with, the first task will automatically begin. You will get notifications about which task you must perform with the Family. There is a period of 2 minutes between each task completion and the next task. You have 10 minutes to complete each task, or you fail. The different tasks possible are: Hunt Small Prey: This requires you and the Family to find and kill 4 wild shoulder pets. For it to count as a kill, you and at least 1 Family member must damage and/or kill the shoulder pet. The Family attacks your target when you are taming them, so you just need to damage the shoulder pet, and the Family will finish it. Feed: This requires you to feed a random food to each Family member. The same food must be fed to each member by putting it in the last hot bar slot and pressing [E] to feed. The possible foods are Cooked Meat Jerky, Rare Mushroom, Cooked Meat, and Raw Meat. Bring some of each food just in case. Pet: By far the easiest task, this requires you to simply press [E] to pet each Family member. Once four tasks have been completed, the Family will be tamed. Another twist to the taming is that at any time during taming, a Family member has a chance of temporarily aggroing onto you. It will attempt to attack you for about 5 seconds before calming down and going back to normal. A tip to avoid getting killed by Venom, always stand on guard and be ready to dodge or block with a shield. Note that one Survivor can only be taming one Family at a time. If two or more Families happen to be in the same area (rarely happens), then you can determine which Sinornitho belongs to which Family by their colors (always the same for each Family). It is suggested that you either kill or KO the other family members. Remember that attacking one Family will not draw the aggro of another. If you happen to come across multiple Families with the same colors, then tough luck. That’s ARK for you. If you are in a Tribe, each member can tame a Family at the same time, but on their own. A Family you are taming does not pay attention to other creatures other than you, including Survivors and Tribemates – unless another creature attacks, they will then retaliate. They otherwise only respond to what you do. If you or an allied tame attacks a single Family Member while taming them, the taming will fail and they will aggro on you. You can escape aggro range, return, crouch, and start over. After being tamed, the Sinornitho will eat the same as any other carnivore. Attacks/Abilities. Left Click: The primary attack of the Sinornitho is a vicious bite/claw that deals 30 base damage as well as one stack of Sinornitho Venom (stacks up to 5, see info below). This attack has a 50% chance of inflicting a Bleed stack as well. Venom and Bleed work on Bosses. Sinornitho Venom. The poison of the Sinornitho is deadly. Like a Leech, victims lose health and stamina over time, for each stack of the venom. For each stack (up to 5), the victim loses a base of 0.5 health and 1 stamina every second. The damage and stamina loss increase when leveled in melee. The health loss is doubled if the victim has at least one Bleed stack on it. Wild Sinornitho contain 2 Sinornitho Venom in their inventory if killed. Via the option wheel you can also extract 1 Sinornitho venom from a tamed one. After extracting, for the next 12 hours in game the raptor is unable to use venom for extraction or inflicting. This item can be ingested to make you lose any venom stacks on you currently and immune to the venom for 24 hours in game. This item can be fed to tames or unconscious creatures as well. Sinornitho Venom stacks up to 10 and doesn't spoil. Antidotes also work on this Venom the same as normal and remove all stacks while in effect. One stack of Venom wears off in 2 minutes (real time). Most survivors would die before then, however. However, one at a time, each Venom stack will subside in 1 minute when injected onto a creature with 300 kilograms or more of drag weight. Space Bar: The Sinornitho can jump as far as a Deinonychus. If you hold down on the [Space Bar], you can Glide. A Sinornitho continues to glide until you release [Space Bar] or hit a vertical surface. If you hit a surface, the Sinornitho automatically latches onto the surface and can now Climb. To Climb while latched onto a surface, simply point a direction and press [Space Bar] once. The Sinornitho will lurch and shimmy in that direction just like with Climbing Picks. Pressing [C] will cause the Sinornitho to detach from the surface. Sinornitho take zero fall damage. [X]: Pressing [X] will cause the Sinornitho to make the Family screech. Each member belonging to a Family that the screeching Sinornitho also belongs to within range will get a 10% buff to damage, speed, and damage resistance for each other Sinornitho within range that belongs to one or more of its Families (that the screecher belongs to). Example: Sinornitho from family A and B screeches each Sinornitho belonging to A and/or B within range gets 10% buff for every other Sinornitho within range belonging to A and/or B. So if a Sinornitho from family A and B hears the call, and there is 2 A members, 2 B members, and 2 other A & B members, that Sinornitho gets a 60% buff. This buff lasts for 5 minutes and has a 24 hour cooldown before the screecher can screech again. Potential Base Stats. The suggested base stats of Sinornitho. Health: 180 Stamina: 180 Oxygen: 150 Food: 1200 Weight: 125 These stats make Sinornitho a little less tanky than Deinonychus, but faster and more endurant over long distances. Appearance. Sinornitho is similar in appearance to a Deinonychus but noticeable smaller. Also, it's snout is longer and narrower, and its sickle claw is less prominent. Its feathers are usually colored in reds, oranges, browns, grays and blacks. Note that in the wild Families spawn with each member featuring the same colors in the same color regions. Sinornitho eggs are dark grey colored, with green spots. Families. Every time Sinornitho spawns, they spawn in groups of 4 called Families. Each family spawns with exactly the same colors in the same color regions. Family members spawn with random levels as usual. When you find and tame a Family, instead of naming an individual member, you name the Family. Later you can change individual member's names as well as the member's Family name via option wheel. These families form close bonds and are important when it comes to breeding, which we'll get into now. Example. Sinornitho from Family X breeds with a Sinornitho from Family Y. The baby will belong to both Family X and Family Y. The new Sinornitho from Family X and Y breeds with a Sinornitho from Family Z. The offspring will belong to all three Families: X, Y, and Z. Each Sinornitho can belong to only 4 different Families. If you breed parents who's combines different Families total more than 4, the offspring will belong to a random 4 Families from its parents. Each individual Sinornitho can have up to 4 Families. New Families can be inherited from its parents. If you breed two Sinornitho who belong to different Families, the offspring will be part of each different Family that its parents had. Example. Sinornitho from Family X, Y, and Z breeds with Sinornitho from Family A and B. The offspring will belong to 4 random Families out of a selection of X, Y, Z, A, and B. For any Families other than the random select 4 will have no connection to the offspring. If two Sinornitho from the exact same Families breed then, if each parent has more than 1 Families, the offspring has a 50% chance of getting one or more mutation. Example. A Sinornitho belonging only to Family X breeds with another Sinornitho only from Family X. The mutation chance is not increased because each Sinornitho has only 1 Family. However, if two Sinornitho, each only from Families X and Y breed, then mutation chances in the offspring are put to 50%. This is because each parent belongs to 2 or more families, and they both belong to the exact same Families. Utilities. In conclusion of its abilities, here are some good uses for the Sinornitho. Hunter/Fighter: With group of Sinornitho you can use the screech to give huge buffs to damage, movement speed, and resistance. It is suggested you use a Sinornitho belonging to multiple families, that is if you have multiple families. Travel Mount: The Sinornitho takes zero fall damage and can glide as well as climb. This makes for a good Rock Drake alternative. Boss Fighter: With enough high level Sinornitho belonging to the same Family(s) you can use the screech to give tremendous buffs to allied Sinornitho. This is surprisingly effective against bosses. Also note that increased melee damage increases Venom effectiveness. And Venom works on bosses. Image from BBC's Planet Dinosaur
  10. Hello Survivors, here is my submission for the Aberration Creature Vote, I have typed all the necessary information here for easy reading, but if you prefer a more traditional approach I have also attached a sample dossier at the end of the post. Enjoy! Dossier: Common Name: Fringe-Limbed Tree Frog (Flying Frog) Species: Ecnomiohyla rabborum Time Period: Modern (Extinct) Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Aggressive Wild: In my time amongst the crags, cliffs, and overhangs of Aberration, I have come across a much unusual creature. In appearance it is very similar to the old earth gliding tree frog, but if it was given a huge size boost and a much more voracious appetite. These cliff dwelling amphibians will eat anything they can get their mouth around, but they have an unusual way of doing it. Despite being agile, fast, and able to cover great distances through the air, these silent hunters prefer to wait in ambush. They use their sticky feet to cling to the underside of an overhang or the side of a cliff, and when potential prey walks by they use their long, whip-like tongue to grab them and reel them into their jaws, swallowing their prey whole. I've even heard tale of one being seen grappling a full-grown rex. Domestic: Should you or your tribemates be crazy enough to tame such a creature, you will find yourselves in the company of a very useful friend. Once tamed, they can use their tongue to grab enemies and their tames, bringing them in close so that you and your tribemates can make the final blow. They can also use this same attack to grab ahold of wild dinosaurs, bringing them in and holding them still so that they can be knocked out or killed. While they don't have much in the way of teeth, their saliva is acidic in nature, and will consistently injure the enemy or dino that is being held. Much like the rock drake that also calls this ARK home, they are capable of climbing any surface, and of gliding great distances using the webbing in their hands and feet. While they are not found in or around water, they are also superb swimmers, and are capable of utilizing this same grab attack even when submerged. Taming: These slimy critters understand one thing better than any creature I've encountered thus far: food. They are voracious eaters, and in order to befriend one, you'll have to feed it live dinosaurs that have been tamed by you or your tribe, but be careful not to end up as a meal yourself! Once full, it should be relatively familiar with your scent, and will descend from its perch to greet you. At this point you will be able to saddle it up and be on your way! Just be careful that the feeding process is not interrupted by any dinosaurs that haven't been tamed by you or your tribe, as this will only hinder the process. Abilities: - Tongue Grapple: Shoots target with tongue, grabbing them and reeling them into the frogs jaws - Tongue Slap: Instead of grappling, you can choose to have your frog simply slap the target - Acidic Saliva: Once grappled, the target is subject to consistent damage from the frog's saliva, as long as they are grappled. This saliva also melts weapons and armor. - Gliding: Can leap into the air and glide great distances - Climbing: Can climb vertically and upside-down - Rider Weaponry Allowed: Grapple a target with your frog's tongue attack, reel them in, and then attack with your own weapons! - Immune to Fall Damage - 360 Rider View Breeding: Like most amphibians, this creature needs to be in water for breeding, and the eggs must stay underwater throughout the entire incubation process. Once the egg hatches, the baby will be a tadpole, and will need to remain in the water until the juvenile stage, at which point they can be removed from the water and brought onto land to grow. Spawning: In the wild, the flying frog can be found clinging to the walls and cliffs of Aberration, waiting for an unsuspecting, yet tasty, snack. Notes: This creature has wonderful PvP and PvE applications. It has armor melting saliva, great mobility, the ability to grapple both players and tames larger than itself (up to Rex size), it can swim, glide through the air, or simply hop along the ground. The player can use weapons, see in 360 degrees when stationary, and even park their frog for safekeeping on a cliff or a wall before dismounting, if they so choose.
  11. **Art on Dossier by Lapis** Wild I've seen alot of prehistroic mammals in my time but I've never seen a Prehistoric Giraffe let alone it being the largest prehistroic relative. Sivatherium Flingerrum is a very strange creature on this ARK mainly its large horns. Unlike Modern Day Giraffes, They're very sharp and wide and I've seen even wild ones pick up and hurl Large boulders at attackers with them. They also use their horns to eat the delicious cactus sap from the cacti of Scorched to supplement their weak stomachs as Sivatherium's have a case of a sick stomach causing them to hurl up their lunch. The Sivatherium's love for Cactus sap is so strong, Sivatherium is easily tamed by letting it lick the Cactus sap off any nearby Survivor. Just don't get covered in its vomit after it takes some sap from you. Domesticated Once tamed, Sivatherium's large horns provide huge utility in raids turning it into a living catapult/slingshot able to hurl boulders or jars of pitch at enemy bases. They also have such a good run speed able to run long distances without consuming stamina and are able to carry large loads for either raids or resource harvesting. And despite the nasty vomit, I've seen survivors use it as a substitute for spoiled meat due to its putrid smell & taste & even making a special spray to scare creatures away from survivors or just hurl its vomit at an opposing force!! Talk about losing your lunch!! Left Click: Horn Slam: Sivatherium swings is large horns at its target causing decent knockback Right Click: Stomp: Sivatherium uses its front feet to hit its target with this attack hitting twice, if looking behind this attack becomes a back kick C Key: If Sivatherium is about to hurl, you can have Sivatherium spit its vomit/hurled lunch at an opponent causing them to lose health slowly while also causing them to gain large amounts of Torpor at a rapid rate due to the horrible smell. X Key: Catapult/slingshot Mode (Able to Launch Catapult Boulders and Jars of Pitch from its Horns. You also be able to create a new ammo type utilizing the vomit to make a giant stink bomb to hurl at opposing forces)(You can also use Catapult Mode to tame Karkinos and Rock Golems) Other Abilities: Sivatherium is able to Sprint without consuming any Stamina similar to Iguanodon (Attacks still cost Stamina), has a High Weight Stat to carry resources across the map, Is able to gather Cactus Sap more efficiently tree to help its weak stomach or you can use its Vomit as a substitute for Spoiled Meat or make a special spray that will scare creatures away from you for a period of time. Taming: Option 1: To Tame Sivatherium, You must approach it while you have Cactus Sap in your zero slot. Sivatherium will approach and start to lick you and the cactus sap out of your inventory. Be careful to not let it lick you for that long as after eating too much cactus sap, it will Vomit on you and the smell of the vomit will scare the Sivatherium away and ruin its taming effectiveness. Option 2: Use a Catapult on its neck causing it to hurl its lunch and stun it for a short period of time. Run up while its stunned and feed it Cactus Sap. Repeat until tamed. The Saddle can be unlocked at lv 35 and you are able to craft the boulders and jars of pitch in its inventory to use in Catapult Mode. There would also be a Wagon Saddle at Lv 50 so Sivatherium can haul stuff with huge weight reductions to items on the wagon.
