  1. Disclaimer: I am no artist so visual representation won't be super great, but hopefully my written descriptions will suffice! Also The species might not fit the time period qualifications for submission, but it does not need to be this ant species specifically. But in my head since this is extinction I figured the element corruption grew an ant on earth to a massive size, if that is not acceptable then just imagine it is a cousin species of the titanomyrma that underwent the same corruption process! Specific species isn't super important to me, I just think a ride-able ant in ark would be dope! Wild Spawn The Dinoponera Matriavastus is a creature you will never find on it's own. Because of this, they benefit from a pack bonus that gives a substantial damage reduction buff. When killed the Dinoponera drops a large amount of chitin and a small amount of meat. The Dinoponera workers spawn in the vicinity of a nest, which looks like a man sized anthill sticking out of the ground. Inside the nest is the Dinoponera queen, who will occasionally leave the nest to wander before returning into the tunnels. The Dinoponera is not aggressive to humans unless they get close to the nest and the queen. They share the same temperament to wild creatures except small creatures like dodos, lystros, etc, and they will consume corpses. Because the Dinoponera reproduces asexually, the species only contains females and all of the workers will be an identical level to their queen, so if you see mis-matched levels of workers it means another nest is nearby. The nest will act as a structure and is destroyable, when destroyed it forces the queen out and aggros her and all of the workers. Once the nest is destroyed all Dinoponera will stop spawning in the area and any existing Dinoponera will slowly despawn when out of render, so you can clear nests in the hopes of finding a higher level nest nearby in the future. Taming You first have to reach the nest without being detected by the workers. The queen can be coaxed out of the nest by dropping honey just outside of the nest, or you can wait for her to naturally emerge. Once the queen is out of the nest you must feed her bug repellent without drawing aggression. This will cause her to lose health quickly until she dies. Killing the queen this way will not aggro the workers. Once the queen is dead, access her inventory and remove her pheromone. Then apply the pheromone to yourself. If you currently are affected by bug repellent yourself, you must wait for the effects to wear off. Be careful of how long you wait, as the pheromone will spoil within a few minutes outside of her inventory. When you are affected by the pheromone, if you are attacked by any creature, nearby workers will come to your aid. This could help save your life, or get the workers killed by accident, so watch your surroundings. Once covered in the pheromone, approach a worker and it will give you a request for some kind of resource. It could be a basic material or a basic food, ie wood, stone, berries, raw meat, etc... Put this item in your last inventory slot and give it to the worker. The more of that item you have in a stack, the more tame progress will be made. So giving it a full stack of 100 wood will give it more tame progress than giving it a stack of 5. Continue filling the requests of the worker until the tame is complete and you have a Dinoponera! You can technically tame as many Dinoponera as there are in the area, but because you only have 30 minutes of pheromone you have to manage your time properly. Once the pheromone wears off, any wild Dinoponera in the area will instantly aggro on you. Breeding Unfortunately since you cannot tame the queen they would not breedable. But I have been debating whether or not they should be. Maybe a decent idea would be the ability to feed a worker certain items and it will transform into a queen, giving you the ability to have one that lays eggs. Possibly feeding a worker 1-5 queen pheromones will turn it into a queen? I'm still split on this part simply because I love breeding and getting mutations. Saddle Upon reaching level 35 you unlock the Dinoponera saddle, which is crafted in the smithy and costs: metal, hide, fiber, and chitin/keratin. This saddle would provide the usual 25 armor and visually would have slight armor plating and saddlebags all over it. It's saddle acts as a crafter, but not a smithy or mortar+pestle. This saddle is able to craft unlocked primitive engrams that would normally need to be crafted in your inventory. So primitive structures, certain saddles, and much more could be crafted on the move without the need for a blueprint. Utility Weight Reduction Once tamed, it is an exceptional beast of burden, capable of reducing the carry weight of wood, thatch, fiber, hide by -40% while reducing the carry weight of stone, metal, flint, obsidian, crystal by -35%! On top of that it reduces the carry weight of all structures by -50%! This makes it extremely useful when moving large quantities of supplies or setting up/moving to a new base location. It can gather wood, thatch, meat, hide, berries, and fiber, albeit at a relatively inefficient rate. Not the best for gathering, but will do in a pinch. Traversal & Mandibles It is able to climb walls and uneven terrain fairly quickly. Pressing the crouch key while riding a Dinoponera allows you to use it's mandibles to pick up certain things. It is capable of picking up and carrying storage boxes, similar to how the rhynio can carry structures. But the Dinoponera can only carry small storage boxes, large storage boxes, and vaults (vaults will act as a drag that I will talk about shortly). It's mandibles are also able to pick up and carry creatures. Anything with a drag weight of 100 or below can be picked up and carried. Not only that, but creatures that fit the weight can also be picked up and carried if they are dead or unconscious! The Dinoponera is also capable of dragging creatures with a drag weight of 101-300! The drag is quite different from the carry. With dragging, the Dinoponera can move heavier objects, but because of the weight, must focus all of it's strength moving it. Therefore when dragging heavier creatures and metal vaults, the Dinoponera can only walk backwards. But have no fear! The Dinoponera is capable of climbing up surfaces backwards, so you can still drag that unconscious Ankylo up a cliff! This can be quite useful to move knocked out creatures to a safer area for taming. It also has use as the ability can drag corpses, making you able to bring a corpse to a tame with better gathering efficiency or even transporting bodies to assist in Carchar taming! Although you would still need to drag the body closer to the Carchar yourself, the Dinoponera can move the corpse quickly from a further distance. Dinoponera Nectar Lastly, when 1 honey and 20 berries are placed into the inventory of a Dinoponera, it will convert the honey into a sweet and nutritious nectar that will provide +40 food as well as a 15% bonus to movement speed, stamina, and stamina regeneration for 15 minutes! The Dinoponera love this nectar and it can be fed to them as well, doubling the effectiveness of the nectar but for only half the time.
  2. Dossier Concept made by me Info: Species: Saurophaganax coronatus Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Cruel Tameable: Yes Rideable: Yes Breedable: Unknown Taming Method: Knockout Prefered Food: Corrupted Heart Size Comparison Wild: Saurophaganax has a 30% chance to spawn instead of a Rex in the wasteland of Extinction. This species is very dangerous as it hunts down almost anything it sees. But Saurophaganax doesn't just hunt you down. Once it catches you, it will torment you by throwing you around like a chew toy and pinning you on the ground scratching at you. Eventually, the Saurophaganax will kill you or your mount after it’s done tormenting it. Saurophaganax also has poisonous quills on its tail and while they can’t be shot out like a Thorny Dragons, they will swing their tail causing its target to be poisoned. Saurophaganax also targets Corrupted creatures more often than normal creatures. Taming: Saurophaganax has a unique taming method. In order to render it unconscious you must first allow it to pin you to the ground with its feet or pick you up in its mouth. From there you have to set C4 on it and make it explode. Each explosion deals a bit of torpor. Continue until the predator is unconscious. The preferred taming food of Saurophaganax are Corrupted Hearts (Corrupted Nodules and Organic Polymer also work but it destroys the taming effectiveness). Once Tamed: Saurophaganax can be saddled at level 85. While it isn’t as big or as strong as a Giga, it’s much faster. Saurophaganax deals increased damage to corrupted creatures, defense units, MEKs, and enforcers. It can also use its claws to harvest massive amounts of element from the nodes in the wastelands. Controls: Left Click- Bite Right Click- Claw Attack (gathers element) C- Jaw Grasp (carries small to medium creatures) X- Foot Pin (holds down small creatures) Z- Tail Attack (deals poison) Ctrl- Roar for aesthetics aesthetics VOTE FOR SAUROPHAGANAX!!!!
  3. Image at the bottom! Dang Forums making it hard to see... Dossier: “It always surprises me when I find extinct animals on the Ark that are so much larger than they should be! Such is the case with the Harpagornis Moorei, now a winged omen of death! Almost permanently flying as high as the Ark reaches, it never descends below a certain altitude and hunts anything that flies up to meet it. Get too close and the Haast Eagle, as it’s informally known, shreds its prey with those enormous talons! Anything unlucky enough to be caught will quickly bleed out, and trying to outfly that winged terror when slowed is a recipe for a grisly end. Taming the Haast Eagle takes aerial supremacy for any tribe; it must be knocked out high in the air, and a keen-eyed Survivor can look out for their nests atop mountains to signify an Eagle is high above! Tamed Harpagornis are incredible battle-mounts, capable of lifting creatures bigger than itself and tearing them apart. I’ve seen a tamed Eagle build two nests across the Ark, flying between them by command without a rider! These could be useful for long-distance transport, and their nests are so cosy that they act as a primitive incubator for eggs!” Art by the brilliant @timinybillybob - look him up on the webz! Description: So, you’re off flying round the Ark. It’s a lovely sunny day, you’re high above those Gigas, and the shield dome shimmers above. But wait, what’s that ahead? You’ve flown too high, flown too close. The Haast Eagle has spotted you, and you’re going to have to get out of there! Alright, so look, I know the Latin name was changed, but Harpagornis just sounds better. I love flying round on Ark, as it’s easily the easiest way of getting around. Aberration even blocks fliers to make it harder. But still, jump on a Pteranodon, a Quetz, fly up and the only threat is running out of stamina. Maybe a Wyvern or Argy if you nip to the loo and forget to land somewhere safe, but still, the airspace of the Ark is too comfortable. No longer! The Harpagornis was the largest recorded Eagle of all time, and was a fearsome hunter capable of taking down Giant Moa, performing strong attacks to knock its prey down. They were also similar to vultures, slurping out insides from corpses they would find. “But it sounds like an Argy!” I hear you say. Yep, it’s a big bird boi! The Harpagornis will be, literally, the sky-Giga. The deep ocean has Mosa and Squid which won’t follow you upwards, the ground has Gigas and Carchas which won’t follow you toooo far, and the sky will have the Haast Eagle, which won’t follow you down. There would only be one or two spawning at a time, similar to a Giga, due to their incredible health, damage potential, and stamina. The Eagle permanently resides in the highest parts of the Ark’s airspace, far beyond sight of those on the ground. Wild Eagles hover about the Ark as if it has unlimited stamina, and is obviously an aggressive creature. Similar to the Mosasaur underwater, the Eagle is the most fearsome creature up high, yet it prefers not to fly too close to the ground. If an unwitting flier approaches too close, all it needs to do to escape is head down! If not, the Roc swoops in on giant wings, and those talons can cause some significant bleeding! As you know, bleeding fliers are practically useless, so you’ll really want to dodge that attack! To tame an Eagle, tribes will need to employ their best flying creatures and load up on ammunition, as the Harpagornis will need knocking out whilst it flies, similar to a Quetz. If it wakes on the ground, it will immediately fly upward until it reaches the safety of the sky. Clever survivors will build traps to prevent the Eagle from escaping! Tamed birds are fearsome battle mounts, as nothing rivals them in the air. They can even prey on the largest land mounts such as Giganotosaurus or Titanosaur by slashing with their talons and waiting above for their poor prey to bleed out. Tamed Eagles will, of course, land on the ground when commanded, and they can create their own nest which serves as a natural egg incubator for other eggs; this will be a temporary structure which can be damaged, so be careful where you place it. The nest will have 3 spaces for eggs, and will keep them perfectly incubated unless the nest is destroyed. Tamed Eagles can create two nests, and when roosting at one, they can be told to fly to the other nest without a rider, allowing them to transport items, dinosaurs, and even people with no rider! This is designed to be a higher-end alternative to teleportation without using tek, as I know ASA will be able to implement the tracking required. The Eagle would fly directly up to a set height, fly across, then descend straight down. Be careful using this feature on PVP! As discussed, they’ll have a normal attack and a special talon attack similar to an Allo chomp which inflicts a chunky bleed effect. Eagles will be able to pick up creatures up to Rex size (no bigger!) and can attack whilst holding a creature. Their speed would likely be around Quetz flight speed or up to Giga run speed at full sprint, as a super-strong, super-fast bird is likely to be hell unless you have turrets galore. This will be the ultimate king of the sky, a true terror of the clouds. Please consider voting for my big birdy boi! I’d love to hear any feedback as, together, we can all get the Haast Eagle into Ark! If you have any ability ideas, feel free to post and fingers crossed Wildcard can choose the best of all of our ideas! Hey look, you made it to the end! You’re a good egg.
  4. Hey survivors! This is Slimer87_'s (me) idea for the Brachiosuchus! Enjoy! Olá sobreviventes! Essa é a ideia do Slimer87_ (eu) para o Brachiosuchus! Aproveite! Original post's name (in case this turns into a replie): Brachiosuchus kebabishensis: The buff croc! Species introduction: Brachiosuchus kebabishensis is a species of the genus Brachiosuchus (its the only species of the genus). It is a crocodyloform from the late Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic era. It was discovered in 2012 in the Kababish Formation of Sudan(where kebabishensis comes from). (Image taken from Wikipedia, by the Paleoartist Armin_Reindl at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brachiosuchus#/media/File:Brachiosuchus.jpg) In ARK: Survival Ascended: (Goofy Brachiosuchus Dossier Sketch that I just made: Slimer87_) What will Brachiosuchus eat? R: At the wild it eats anything that moves just like other carnivores in ARK (at least I think its gonna be like that at Ascended), but when tamed it can eat cooked and raw: Fish, Prime fish, Meat, Prime meat and just lemons (not a joke, its because lemons are great fruits with vitamin C, eat your fruits kids!), it's favorite kibble can be either Superior kibble or medium kibble. Why is it perfect for the center? R: Because The Center has lots and lots of bodies of water that the Brachiosuchus can swim and spawn at. What with it's saddle? R: Brachiosuchus doesn't have any saddles, its a naturally very resistent and armored creature that doesn't go down easily, that's why it doesnt need a saddle. What's up with those dilos at the Croc's arm? R: Brachiosuchus "special ability" is switching from quadruped to biped (standing up), but unlike the iguanodon it still runs fast even while upright, while standing up the croc can't swin well, but can hold creatures with it's long and strong arms(terciary for standing up and secondary while up to grab dinos), while holding creatures that aren't near their full weight Brachiosuchus will ignore the creature's weight while carrying it, but weight buffs such as the castoroids will be ignored by the long armed crocodile. When the carried dino is heavy or at full weight brachiosuchus will have a weight discount of 2x at the creatures inventory. The quantity of dinos carried by Brachiosuchus can change for each creature, while it can carry up to three dilophosaurs, it can only carry one doedicurus. Speaking of abilities, what are the croc's abilities? R: Good question! While in quadruped stance (laying down) Brachiosuchus will bite with primary attack (generally left mouse click), claw/slap/punch creatures with it's arms with secondary attack (generally right mouse click), for its terciary (generally C) it will change between quadrupedal stance and bipedal stance. While in bipedal stance Brachiosuchus will grab creatures with primary attack, yeet/let go of creatures with secondary, change from bipedal stance to quadrupedal stance. While at bipedal stance, Brachiosuchus will intimidate any small (not smaller) dinos away (at least 20m radius). When changing from bipedal to quadrupedal or when entering water my boy brachiocroc will just come back to quadrupedal stance and carry the holding dinos with it's mouth like crocs carry their babies, but thats only for small dinos, certain bigger dinos will continue to be carried with brachio's arms, but it will affect swim speed. How will it be tamed? R: I was originally thinking of just darting it, but that wouldn't be fun would it? So to tame one long armed boy you will need: A dino that is close in size or bigger than the brachiosuchus that is the same level or higher than the brachiosuchus, the dino should be neutral or agressive, all you need next is to make the brachiosuchus and the dino fight! If your dino wins Brachiosuchus has a 60% chance of laying tranqued at the ground and your dino will stop beating it, and a 39% chance of it running away, and a trolling 1% chance of the croc just dying. If the croc wins, your dino will obviously die and brachiosuchus will sprint for you while standing up (you probably won't tank the hits)! (and will only progress the taming bar a little). For taming Brachiosuchus you can also give it baby kaprosuchus or sarcosuchus (the first method is better). In case of you knocking down the Brachiosuchus will tranq darts/arrows or by just beating it with your club/bare hands it won't tame, the brachiosuchus will only be able to pray that any kapros or sarcos won't see it! Anything more? R: This is the rest that I can think of (lol): Brachiosuchus has a lot of health and weight naturally, also armor, that makes it not sleep easily. When shooting at dinos that are being carried the damage and torpor will be passed on to the brachiosuchus, so you can't just lock dinos to tame them, but you can carry them to nearby traps! The size of the dinos that brachiosuchus can carry is every dino that is smaller than it while standing up! It will have a preference of going after kaprosuchus and sarcosuchus, because they hate each other, same for kaprosuchus (they will preffer the crocs over the player and the crocs will preffer the brachio over the player too)! (Also made by me, the background I found on father Google: By Slimer87_) I'm open for any replies or art to help people understand the greatness of the concept of the giga croc! (Sorry if my english is bad, I'm brazilian) (Also sorry if I said "Brachiosuchus" so many times lol) I can translate it to portuguese or spanish if anyone wants it to send to friends or whatever! Thanks for reading it all! (it sure was a lot) Slimer87_ out!
  5. Pholidocercus was an ancestor of modern hedgehogs that lived in the mid-Eocene. Its diet was based solely on insects although, like other non-carnivorous animals, it did not rule out feeding on dead animals as an additional source of protein. Normally its attitude was passive but it did not hesitate to attack invaders to defend its territory. It was covered with spines which it used defensively and had a "helmet" and tail reinforced with scales. In-game features SPAWN AREA This creature would inhabit most of the Fertile Region and isolated places in the Bio-Luiminiscent Region, with a rarer occurrence. We have chosen these areas because they are the places where there are more insects, something vital for the survival of this animal. They are also relatively similar to the places where Pholidocercus lived in the past. GENERAL ASPECTS It is a creature whose strong point is the amount of life it has, accompanied by a decent carrying capacity and normal stamina. The spines that cover a large part of its body have a mainly defensive purpose, capable of causing great damage to enemies. He also has a very resistant helmet with which, with the help of his speed, he can raze resistant materials. The four-legged Pholidocercus has a size similar to that of a Roll Rat, while its two-legged height would be like that of a Megatherium. By looting the corpse of these creatures or simply picking them up from the ground when they are expelled by it, you will get Pholidocercus Thorns, which combined with arrows you will get piercing arrows, almost instant arrows with a slightly higher damage than a normal one. WILD In the wild, it will attack any small creature (especially insects) that gets too close to it. If the Pholidocercus has killed an insect, it will get the "Toxic Rush" upgrade, which allows it to be faster, reduce more damage and make its spines poisonous, which inflicts corrosive damage. The effects will last for 1 minute in the wild. Those who try to hit him melee will suffer damage from his spines. They will also be affected by the poison if the Pholidocercus is under the effects of "Toxic Rush". When threatened by a larger animal, the hedgehog will defend itself on two legs, but when severely injured, it will throw slowing spines in all directions and then flee. If the player carries a piece of the chitin set, this creature will detect you at a great distance and will adopt a very aggressive temperament, making you its target. TAME To tame it, you will need to place a large amount of chitin in the last slot of the hot bar, put on a full chitin suit and get close enough to the Pholidocercus for it to detect you. When it sees the player, it will run towards it in a stampede. You'll have to dodge it so that it crashes into a vertical surface, leaving it stunned for a few seconds, seconds you'll have to take advantage of to get on its neck and ride it (by pressing E), but its spines will cause you light constant damage, so you'd better be quick. The animal will try to throw the survivor off, shaking violently (similar to an Equus). As it does so, a bar will appear above the player's hot bar where you will have to play a precision game of feeding the animal with chitin (10 at a time), three to six times in a row (depending on the level) to bring up the taming. If you fail the game, you can try as many times as you want, but each time you fail, the taming efficiency will decrease. If you hit the required number of times in a row, the creature will throw you off and you will have to repeat the whole process as many times as necessary, depending on the level. DOMESTICATED Once domesticated, the Pholidocercus will have a wide repertoire of abilities. The animal has two modes, four-legged or upright (like an Iguanodon or Spino). In the first form, the animal will have a damage reduction due to its spine armor, and the damage received in this form will charge a bar divided into four segments: The more the first segment is completed, the faster the animal will go, but when it is completely filled, the speed will be constant. If the second one is completed, the animal will be able to break stone structures down when making a charge. If the third segment is completed, by charging an animal or a player on an animal, they will be stunned along with considerable damage. By completing the fourth and final segment, the Pholidocercus will be able to break metal structures. If you charge at something, the completed bar will not be lost, but there will be a cooldown time when you can neither break structures with the headbutt nor knock someone out. However, if you don't take damage for a long time, it will be reset. With this, the animal could tank a large amount of damage in raids, such as projectiles from the turrets and also break through the base barriers. These are the controls of the skills while on all fours: -With the left click, the creature will hit with its helmet, but with little damage. However, if you hold the click, it will prepare to start the aforementioned charge (like a Trike) until you stop pressing it. -With the right click, it will launch spines with great range in all directions with a recharge time of 30 seconds approx. If it has consumed a mushroom brew, it will gain the effects of Toxic Rush, which will last for 10 mins. If these soups are left in the animal's inventory, you will be able to enable an option for it to eat them every 10 mins. This is useful for defending your base when you are offline. -Finally, the mount adds a shovel to the tail of the Pholidocercus, so when you press C, it will dig up a pile of dirt and you can throw it at players or creatures to blind them and slow them down. By pressing Space, the mammal will stand up on its two hind legs, being slower and more defenseless because its belly is exposed. -Once standing, its attacks with the left click will hit with its claws in a fast way. This attack will do much more damage than in its other form, and will be useful for farming materials such as wood or looting bushes. The right click will allow the player to launch a set of painless remote-controlled ( meaning that the target will be marked automatically) thorns that will chase whoever you have aimed at. When they stick in the target, which can be an ally or enemy, they will mark the target, being able to see them through the walls at all times without losing sight of them. This will last a minute and a half on enemies and 10 mins on allies. It is a really useful ability to chase creatures or enemies or not to lose your allies in, for example, an expedition or in a cave. With the C, the Pholidocercus will be able to grab small-sized creatures or babies in their early stages (with the exception of large-sized hatchlings like Giga's). While you are not mounted on it, you can activate a barricade mode (via the animal's options menu) in which the Pholidocercus will position itself exposing its spines so that, when an enemy comes in contact with it, it will take damage. In addition, if an enemy is in a very close radius to it. He will throw his spines around him every 30 secs. This, combined with the buff he gains from taking a mushroom brew, can create an excellent base defense, so if you're not online, you could leave a large amount of these brews in his inventory to ensure a good defense. MOUNT Unlocked at level 68. The mount consists of two closed cabins located on either side of the Pholidocercus, in which the player on the left drives and the player on the right can use ranged weapons. As the player is inside an enclosed cabin, he will be able to enter radioactive or poisonous areas without taking damage, as well as generating some resistance to heat and cold. If you liked it, we would be eternally grateful for your vote, as it would help us a lot to bring our beloved Pholidocercus to the Ark universe. We are sorry if there are any mistakes in the translation, since we are Spanish and, personally, English is not our strong point. Even so, we have made an effort to make sure that everything is understandable. We have put the controls only on PC because it is the medium through which we play Ark and we do not know what would be the equivalent controls on consoles. Thank you very much for reading this far as it has been many days of work and you do us a big favor just having read everything. If you have any suggestions for changes or additions, let us know. See you, survivors! Made by Deigo, with the help of Blos, Lote and DRGarca.
