  1. DINOFELIS BARLOWI, a cat for Aberration The Gem Grinder Beast Dossier Link (both versions): High Quality Dossier Reason Aberration is great. It has beautiful areas and many interesting and also beautiful animals. But there's one thing I'm missing there, and that's a cat. My tribe and I have therefore decided to design a cat for Aberration. We worked together on the idea and the artist in our tribe designed the dossier in which all our ideas flowed in. - Amitaya82 (original idea for the creature) Creature Info Dinofelis is a genus of extinct sabre-toothed cats belonging to the tribe Metailurini or possibly Smilodontini, that lived in the early Pliocene to the early Pleistocene. Wild Living in the depths of the Luminous Marshlands of Aberration, Dinofelis is extremely adapted to its environment. With their strong jaws they can easily destroy the gems surrounding but struggle with the roughness of stone, grating their teeth down when biting through it. These creatures are able to grind gems they harvest into fine powder which they drop upon death. Dinofelis can slide down steep walls and hang onto them, though not being able to climb. To compensate for their lacking climbing ability, Dinofelis evolved to being an excellent jumper, rivaling even the Procoptodon. These feral creatures live in pairs and show aggressive behaviour towards survivors, attacking mainly with their claws but have also been spotted using their maw, though less common. Taming To obtain the trust of a Dinofelis, the survivor has to get their hands on the blue gem powder a wild Dinofelis drops upon its death. Once the survivor has gathered enough of said powder, it can be used to make its user invisible to their surroundings and to get close enough to the creature without it attacking. The survivor should also be crouched as Dinofelis can still hear their movement and might attack upon spotting them. If the survivor followed the listed requirements, Dinofelis can be passively tamed by using gems, red gems being the most effective, followed by blue gems and lastly green gems. Domesticated In contrast to its wild counterpart, a domesticated Dinofelis can produce gem powders of all three types upon the survivors request. Green gem powder can be used to heal both survivors and creatures, acting similar to Medical Brews. Blue gem powder can be used by either the Dinofelis or the survivor to appear invisible for a limited time. However, this powder seems to only work on Dinofelis as other creature have showed signals of getting sick from this specific powder. Contrary to the Blue gem powder, Red gem powder can be used by any creature and survivors to protect themselves from radiation. A tamed Dinofelis can carry great amounts of gems and if its inventory contains all three types of gems, it is capable of creating an almost armor-like structure out of these gems which gives them a greater resistance to the attacks of other creatures as well as immunity to Freezing Spores. However, the weight of the gem armor slows them down a significant amount. Otherwise Dinofelis has proven itself to being an ideal taming and exploring mount as the survivor can shoot of its back as well as being immune to the maw grip of Megalosaurus. Attacks LMB: Claw attack (faster, less damage) RMB: Maw attack (slower, more damage) C-Key: Activate gem armor (if inventory contains all three gem types) -> damage resistance, Freezing Spores immunity, slowed down Saddle Unlocking As a late mid-game creature, the saddle should be available a bit earlier than Megalosaurus, Level 55.
