  1. Suchomimus Vote Submission Special thanks to AzureDragon for helping out with the creature submission, and -Overview: With Ark releasing a creature vote for the Center, I’ve decided to implement a creature that has an adaptation for being able to traverse both land and the surplus of water enough to give this map a 7.6 rating by IGN. Such a creature I believe that fits this is the Suchomimus: an amphibious dinosaur that feeds off of fish. And while we already do have a Baryonyx and a Spinosaurus that both somehow fill this niche, I’d like to represent what the Suchomimus does. The Suchomimus is a slightly large Piscivore that specializes in having an aggressive playstyle and a bad attitude in the wild. When domesticated, the player will have access to (I’m 100% serious) a creature with many attack options that can combo into each other to deal high damage. It’s like implementing a fighting game character into a dinosaur that can swim really good! With that said, I hope you take this creature into consideration and will potentially cast your vote on such a wild idea. (This is not mine. Image credit: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1135257689) Wild The Center’s surplus of waters has allowed a more unique environment that the Suchomimus thrives in. It’s a greedy piscivore that will ward off any trespassers and stands up to even the larger Spinosaurus! It patrols rivers, swamps, and rarely beaches to ensure it’s ready to feast on whatever fish it craves. Its primary combat tactic is that it uses every part of its body it can think of as a fatal weapon. With long, deady teeth accompanied by a long jaw, claws strong enough to slice through anything foolish enough to challenge this creature, and even using its body weight to topple down creatures and then go for the kill. It’s a clever beast and has many ways of ensuring dominance over anything on the Ark, Domesticated The Suchomimus is strong, but not unstoppable. While it definitely cannot compete against something as robust as a Giganotosaurus or a Carcharodontosaurus, anything as tough as a Rex is fair game to this creature. Only a survivor as smart as the Suchomimus can make full use of its many powerful body parts when controlling it. And if they can, the Suchomimus only becomes more fierce. Along with this, the surviors can also makes incredible use of the Suchomimus’ incredible ability to harvest fish! Abilities: Fish Harvester: The Suchomimus can harvest extremely high amounts of fish meat. Along with this, it can even harvest a small amout of Prime fish meat from Coelacanths, Sabertooth Salmons, and Piranhas. Pin Attack: When dismounted or mounted, the Suchomimus has access to a deadly pin attack that can impede something as large as a Baryonyx. Water Buff: The Suchomimus can gain a boost to speed and stamina reduction when making contact with water. These abilities are naturally implemented to the Suchomimus itself. With that said, I’m certain that Wildcard won’t include all of these features, but I’m never shy of going the extra mile and making stuff ridiculous. With thats said, here’s what the survivor can do when equipping the saddle: Saddle Benefits: Fortitude Boost: Like the Otter and the Dimetrodon, the Suchomimus can help cool off the rider of the saddle against hot temperatures. Fish Preserver: The weight of Fish and Prime fish meat is reduced by 75% and its spoil time is 5x longer than normal. This helps the Suchomimus carry more food with it without tampering the weight too much. And finally, the King Kahuna of all of the moves this creature can perform are found below. Controls: The Suchomimus has a truckload of moves at its disposal when the saddle is equipped. It also has two stances: Stalker and Berserker mode. Both can be toggled by pressing the Crouch Button. (C, Right Stick) (Note. Moves that are Light, Medium, and Heavy are indicated by L, M, and H. Also, I will be footnoting each move so I don’t have a stroke trying to implement each input from a different console: A1: RT, R2, Left-Click A2: LT, L2, Right-Click Jump: A, X, Space Crouch: RS, RS, C) Here are the controls for each: Stalker Mode: Jump- The Suchomimus jumps a more horizontal distance while gaining slight air time. This is triggered by the Jump Button. Bite- (L) (A1) The Suchomimus releases a bite, dealing low damage. Tail Strike- (L) (A2) The Suchomimus Swings its tail to the front of its body. Pin attack: (M) (A1+A2) You can pin a creature (Anything the Megalosaur can grab) to the ground. Bite can then be repeated. Berserker Mode: Dodge- By pressing the jump button and any movement direction, the Suchomimus will briefly hop in that direction to avoid attacks. Bite attack- (L) (A1) Tail Swipe- (L) (A2) Dual Claws- (M) (A1+A2) The Suchomimus slashes forward twice. This move Inflicts Bleeding. Hip Check- (M) (A1+Crouch) This move puts the Suchomimus on all fours and throws its weight. This can be altered in any direction by using a movement input. Reaper Claw- (M) (A2+Crouch) The Suchomimus swings its claw with high force at a creature. This move is stronger if the Creature is crippled or bleeding. Reaper Kick- (H) (A2+Jump) This move makes the Suchomimus leap into the air and then stomp on an enemy from above. This move has very high knockback. Guillotine- (H) (A1+Jump) The Suchomimus leaps into the air and lunges with its mouth wide open. This move can knock survivors off of tames. Grim Reaper: (S) (A1+A2+Jump) This move can only be used if the Suchomimus is in berserk. The Suchomimus in all of its anger will lunge towards the target and slice both of its claws through the target’s flesh. This move is stronger on bleeding targets and Cripples targets. How the moves work. The Suchomimus can combo moves by chaining them in a specific order. By inputting moves from Light to Heavy, each move will be cancelled and overwritten with the strong attack. The chain goes from L->M->H->S. You can chain up to 2 Light or Medium attacks of the same grade. When chaining moves correctly, you will gain a berserk stack. This slightly increases the damage each move does. When enough stacks are gained, the Suchomimus will enter Berserk and can use the devastating move: Grim Reaper. This acts as like a Super move or a Fatal Blow from the Mortal Kombat series. It should also be noted that the stronger moves consume more stamina than the weaker ones, and each move has its own specific utility to chain different combos to ensure a different way to take out each creature. With that said, and a list of moves being larger than the menu at the Cheesecake factory, it is time to talk about taming this beast. Taming: How to tame: The Suchomimus is not very fond of anything stepping onto its turf, let alone, stealing its food. However, the Suchomimus isn’t stupid. If you are able to show you’re not a threat and assist it in fishing, you can then slowly gain it’s trust. By killing a small fish such as a Coelacanth, Sabertooth Salmon, or Piranha and letting it consume the fish, it gains your trust and builds up taming effectiveness. When it has Trust, it won’t attack you. Do be careful not to harvest it yourself, or else you’ll lose that trust (and maybe your health bar) almost immediately. Once enough Taming effectiveness is built up, you’ve tamed the Suchomimus. Once tamed, the Suchomimus is a very affection-hungry creature, craving to bond with its master. Should the survivor neglect it long enough, it will start to gain emotional trauma. It will start feeling less appreciated and may even turn wild again. However, survivors can still appoint a Spinosaurus, Baryonyx, or even another Suchomimus to bond with it too. This will work out just as well. (Yes, the Sucho is a Yandere) Uses as a tame: I’ve already went over the many moves the Sucho can perform, but it has great utility outside of combat. Mini Preserving Bin: The saddle allows you to preserve a lot of fish meat at a reduced weight capacity. This helps free up space for Refrigerators to allow eggs, brews, and other foods instead. Fast Transportation: The Suchomimus is a very mobile land creature. Having access to the Stalker mode, water buffs, and even an impressive swimming speed, it allows you to traverse the Center quickly. Boss Killer: With its drag weight being less than a Rex or a Spino, it makes for a high-damage creature against the bosses on the Center. Along with it bringing Bleed effects to the party, it can quickly take down any boss with assistance from your other dinos. PvP: Combo Machine: Since the Suchomimus has so many moves all with different effects, you can quickly slow down any seige dino like the Pacacer with its bleeding and cripple effects. It can do the same to Rexes (and if you’re brave enough) even Gigas. This allows for a good hit-and-run strategy against stronger tames. Dismount Mounted Dinos: The move, “Guillotine” allows the Sucho to dismount enemy survivors from their tames. This can end in a very bad day for anyone trying to attack your base. Pin Attack: While survivors often don’t ride creatures smaller than a Rex, you can still pin those creatures up to a Baryonyx in size and result in their demise. Strengths and Weaknesses: Strengths: The Suchomimus is a very powerful attacker that specializes in neutralizing a single target incredibly well. It has good speed, access to utility and buffs, and can even thrive underwater for a long period of time. Weaknesses: Its stronger moves can quickly deplete stamina making it much worse at battle. A smart player will learn when necessary to engage and keep combo’ing an opponent. And while it can swim very good with a reduction of Oxygen depletion, it cannot stay submerged forever. It will have to surface back up. Final Remarks: So, whatcha think? I know this idea seems a little crazy for a dinosaur game, but I believe it is a fun addition, and it provides a unique aspect to dinosaur combat than spamming the attack button over and over again. I believe it also makes a good addition to the Center with the abundance of water where it can gain access to buffs and help take on stronger creatures. Hope you all have a great day, and cast your vote for this creature!
