A fascinating find in the many waterways and swamps of the Center has been the small, but mighty Toxitidae. Commonly referred to as the Archerfish because of its unique hunting technique, the Archerfish spits water at unsuspecting insects and sometimes larger prey. Using the chitin from dead insects, survivors have been able to knockout tame these archerfish while carefully avoiding the pirhana they share their waters with. Once tamed, Archerfish have become an effective defense of tribes' rafts and floating bases as their ranged spit attack knocks flyers out of the sky and damages enemy rafts. Underwater, their spit attack slows enemy survivors and tames alike, allowing other base defenses to finish them off.

Staroteuthis Luminae is a deep sea predator using its translucent skin as a camouflage to stalk and a bioluminescent pulse, reminiscent of a plant z fruit, to stun its prey. After stunning, the staro uses its sucker-lined arms to hold its prey still as it devours. In the wild, the Staroteuthis' main diet consists of the bile produced by ammonites which makes this passive tame difficult to secure as feeding it the bile causes all other sea life attack it. While the Staro can only be found in the depths of aberration's waters, domesticated, survivors have been able to bring this octopus on land. With its suckers, the staro has even been known to climb the walls of enemy bases to stun enemy survivors and dinos.
