Yes, he should've stayed banned for making a tutorial, and having most of his videos admitting that he was using that same exact exploit to build his bases in places they wouldn't be found.

If you think that exposing a whole heap more players to meshing via showing the exploit is something to be lauded, then you obviously have no care about anyone else, no matter the consequences of said actions, just as long as it gets fixed...

However I've said many times, that what if they CAN'T fix it fast enough to stop more people exploiting it.

After all, the patch notes show MULTIPLE attempts to FIX this, yet you willingly ignore that, and would prefer public videos be made about the exploit to draw a weaponized mass of viewers to come and attack the devs directly, rather than actually reporting it directly to devs VIA THE APPROPRIATE AVENUES, without any evidence to show that he has actualy submitted the bug reports, in as much detail as he's showing how to exploit said exploit.

Quite frankly, he should still be banned, unless of course, they unbanned everyone who was banned for showing meshing tutorials and commiting the same exact act as he has done.

If you don't care about those others that have been banned, then you're just being hypocritical.

By supporting this sort of SJW action, then you are supporting 0-day exploits on your PCs, and wouldn't mind if your PC got taken down by someone using a 0-day on you, because 'it draws attention'...

    • Nowhere in the terms of service does it say you can't showcase exploits on platforms Wildcard don't own such as Youtube. It only covers Wildcard's official websites and their game itself. Check their code of conduct if you don't believe me.
    • If you're on official you have been meshed before at least once. There is no way that people haven't been exposed to meshing if they play official. People deserve to know the truth and see how easy it is so they know exactly what kind of game they're playing. If the developers cannot protect these players from meshers I think they should at least be allowed for them to see how easy meshing is so they can opt out of spending several hours a day grinding in a game only to lose it all because of a single guy with rockets and some climbing picks blew up your base from below.
    • Yes, I've seen their posts where they claim it's out of their control pretty much. I don't think that's good enough. Name one other highly successful game which is plagued with this many major exploits that hasn't got fixed in 3 years. You can't. Good developers fix their games. Their attempts quite frankly, aren't enough. This game is a mess and I see no reason why people can't expose that fact.
    • Like I said earlier, posting a video on a third party website about meshing does not break the terms of service. You are assuming you understand my viewpoint when you do not. If somebody broke the rules and got banned I really couldn't care less but HOD didn't break the rules. Also I care about some people who have been banned unfairly, but that simply has no relevance to this topic and it seems you're just trying to debunk my views by randomly calling me a hypocrite lol
    • Oh look, another wild assumption. Comparing that to 0-day exploits is rather bizarre. I'm also pretty sure you have me mistaken as some kind of raving lunatic. I do not support meshing but it's clear a big change needs to happen on this game as for the longest time nothing has changed and this video/controversy might trigger that very change. Wildcard are not doing enough and need to step up their "fixes" and this video might be the kick up the bum that they need. Also, you know what I do support? Good developers who make good games.

Really though, they should've left him banned, as he knew what he was doing was wrong, and he went the wrong way about reporting it. He only put it out as a video after his tickets went untended, and he ended up being meshed...

You're saying he should have stayed banned for exposing an issue which has plagued Ark since release? That's ludicrous. Also reporting bugs and exploits the way Wildcard ask doesn't work. What HOD did was expose a real problem this game has been facing for 3 years now to the public. There was nothing wrong with what he did. It needs to be talked about and it needs to be constantly brought up to these developers or else they will ignore their community like they have been for the last 3 years.

Also even if he did make the video because he got ignored and meshed... why can't he? What's your point exactly? He has a right to honestly review a game and bring up the faults it has. The people who are saying HOD should have been banned have all these ridiculous reasons to justify it such as "he only did it because he got meshed and he was salty!" or "he did it for publicity and money!!" which are points which are completely left redundant of relevance or meaning. It's like you're all missing the point of the whole video.

  3. Atlas? The game that looked just like Ark and was accidentally uploaded onto Ark Survival Evolved's own youtube channel 4 months ago only to be removed shortly afterwards? The game people mistook for a DLC because it's mostly all of Arks original assets? Yeah... no. Snailgames already tried that with ArkPark, Dark and Light and Pixark. No thank you lol

  4. Nice! Dunno how you plan on enforcing some the rules on the small tribe servers though. I don't see how sharing breed lines even matters considering people may steal eggs anyway and I have no clue how you would catch people doing that in the first place. Also what stops somebody from fighting off a raid from one tribe only to get hit by a 2nd tribe in a similar time frame who learns that they're weak??? Will that count as a "joint raid"? Would the tribes get banned for that?

I am very interested in seeing what you guys implement to actually police all of this! Do you have some kind of highly intelligent AI in the works that can understand interactions between players? Or do you rely solely on reports made by other players? :)

    So the really important question...

When do we get to see a video of

the vile ‘Nameless Queen’ to impregnate your foes with a horrifying reproductive chest-burster!"

I look forward to the release of this! Thank you for your hard work, I'll need to buy the season's pass soon. And just to be super greedy: when do we get to hear about the second expansion? Will it be a similar release style to SE and Aberration? Oh... And can we raise those chest busters as cute vicious alien pets?

Maybe the queen is the large creature behind the others in the trailer.

For some reason when I watched it I assumed the humans were AI, not other players. Was it confirmed that people can chose to play as dino or human? Or are assumptions being made? I admit mine is an assumption but I don't think enough detail was given to state that humans were other players. Regardless, i'm still looking forward to it!

I am getting a little too hyped up and I'm making assumptions lol. I just assumed it would be similar to the already existing "Play as a dinosaur" mod but a lot less messy. We'll have to wait and see!

  7. I suggested the Pelagornis on the forum! I'm so happy it's confirmed! A bird that can land on water is perfect for me because I'm fed up of flying too close to water, falling in and then struggling to get back on my bird LOL
