Yeah it's true there are other games with server transfer, reason though I specified survival is a game like Rust Ark conan etc, there is usually a lot more attached to each character than other types of games, things like tames/followers, structures ownership permissions, potentially resources, levels and stats along with engrams and stuff like that. If you think about it there is a whole bunch of in game assets and values linked to each character, guess kinda makes sense that there is so much room for something to go wrong with all that information and result in a potentially corrupted character.

To be fair what other online survival game allows you to transfer characters between servers the way that ARK does?

You know what would happen? Tons of ankys on leashes on aberration getting metal, since you only have to go and collect it. Let alone the island or other maps where metal is more scarse.

Easily worked around, Have the anky have to be carried in order to auto harvest, or atleast be in render range, maybe instead one could give it a command/whistle to harvest instead of a full auto harvest, numerous ways to encourage players to use it the same way the doe is used. I feel what you suggest is a very weak and niche argument against a potentially great QOL improvement which people have asked for for years.

If you have lost a character and are wondering what to do next, follow this procedure:

Sit in a semi comfortable position on the floor

Assume a fetal position

Place head between legs

Begin to rock back and forth repeatedly

Begin to cry

Maintain this action until the acceptance of your character being gone for good sets in and takes hold.

Only after you have completed this behavior should you then log a ticket, this way you can mentally prepare yourself for the "we are sorry but we arent going to restore your character because reasons" reply that you will get back from support.
