With the rain there should be puddles that last temporarily, and the rain and swimming should leave water dripping down the player's avatar.

I also feel like a wave mechanic in the oceans would be top tier especially if it had an ambience sound. Bigger props if it had ripples in puddles when large animals walked by or stepped in them

That is what I was going for, it would probably be extremely complicated, but they are making the foliage move on contact with the player or other creatures.

I didn't see much water in the trailers, but I'm sure there will be puddles and rivers. The whole landscape appears to be a more jungle-type biome, and I hope it actually makes it a little realistic, seeing as it's on a planet and not an ARK. I hope it focuses more on customization than cramming in biomes and creatures. Extinction managed to do it sensibly with the proto-ARKs, but I don't see any way it could be done on ARK 2. Maybe in a DLC it will include different biomes from different regions on Arat.

Yeah but if it is a whole planet then there would most likely be at least some lakes, btw I am working on coding a game.
