CAMPTORHYNCHUS LABRADORIUS - THE DUCK OF THE MIRACLE FEATHERS

INFORMATION:

The Labrador duck (Camptorhynchus labradorius) is a species of duck that became extinct in 1875 on the east coast of North America. It was the first bird species to become extinct on this continent since European colonization. It was hunted in large numbers despite its tasteless meat, which quickly rotted, and its nests pillaged for eggs. The disappearance is due to hunting, but also probably to the decline of the populations of molluscs on which it fed and the degradation of its habitat.

APPEARANCE:

The Labrador duck had black and white plumage with a distinctive black collar around its neck.
Females were characterized by their brown plumage, in addition to being slightly smaller than males.

WILD:

These ducks like to swim in flocks in the Ark's vast lakes. They tend to spawn in cold regions, where they spend some time, and then migrate to warmer regions to breed. Their nests are very well hidden, and only by keeping their distance and feeding the female will players be able to access their eggs. Their hunting is also a common practice among players, as hitting them with a firearm can bring unique advantages, due to the rapid rotting of their meat.

DOMESTICATED:

The Labrador duck is considered an adornment for player bases. They are highly appreciated due to their beauty, in addition to being very useful. Consuming different types of kibbles, they are able to produce feathers with unique effects that can be used by players to recover health, cure diseases and even temporary advantages.

In addition to the duck, I would also like to add the duck feeder, which could be used both in water and on land.
This feeder serves as a kind of exclusive electronic collar for Labrador ducks, keeping them close at all times to prevent any of them from getting lost.

UTILITIES:

With no combat abilities, and only a weight reduction for raw materials when shouldered, the Labrador duck's ability is focused on its passive production. If the Labrador duck is in free roam mode within range of a duck feeder, it will from time to time feed itself, and depending on the food it consumes, it will produce feathers in its inventory with powerful effects to players can use.
Below is a list of feathers that each food produces, and their effects:

1 X Basic Kibble = 2 White Feathers – Each white feather has the same effect as a Medical Brew (+40 hp) plus the effect of an Enduro Stew (+35% Melee Damage +1.2 Healt per second)
1 X Simple Kibble = 2 Green Feathers – Each Green Feather has the same effect as a Focal Chili (+25% movement speed, +100% crafting speed), plus the effect of a Lazarus Chowder (-85% Oxygen consumption underwater +1.2% Stamina per second (Allow constant Swimming)

1 X Regular Kibble = 2 Blue Feathers - Each Blue Feather has the same effect as a Calien Soup (+50 Hyperthermic Insulation, -25 Water Consumption), plus the effect of a Cold Curry (+50 Hypothermic Insulation, -25 Food Consumption) .

1 X Superior Kibble = 2 Purple Feathers – Each purple feather has the same effect as a Broth of Enlightenment (+50% exp gain), plus the effect of a Cactus Broth (Reduce Water Consumption and hide partly from wild animals)

1 X Exceptional Kibble = 2 Golden Feathers – Each golden feather has the same effect as Battle Tartare (+65% attack damage, +15% damage resistance, +50% movement speed, +50% food and water consumption, increased stamina regeneration, -90 hp (0.45 per second), plus the effect of a Shadow Steak Saute (+50 Hyperthermic Insulation, +50 Hypothermic Insulation, -80% Weapon Recoil).
1 X Extraordinary Kibble = 2 Cyan Feathers – Each cyan feather has the same effect as the Mindwipe Tonic (Resets the player's stats and engrams)

In addition to the reduced cost of manufacturing these items compared to what is manufactured inside an industrial stove, the advantage of Labrador duck feathers is that they do not spoil, and can be stored inside dedicated boxes. These feathers are quite heavy, and because they carry so little weight, the Labrador duck can stand still, and its production will not continue until the player clears its inventory. This might encourage players to breed these animals, focusing on weight mutation.

The Labrador duck also has a flock effect, where the more Labrador ducks around the feeder, the greater the feather production of each one of them.
Its fertilized eggs can also be used in any kibble, just like Yutiranus eggs.

One ability that the wild Labrador duck has is escape mode, when a player approaches. The moment the Labrador duck takes flight to escape the player and is hit by a firearm, its body will drop between 50 and 500 Rotten Meat, in addition to a small chance to drop one of its miraculous feathers. I thought of something similar to duck hunting practiced in the real world.
The more ducks the player kills this way in a row, the greater the amount of rotten meat each will drop (maximum 500 per duck), and the greater the chance of getting feathers (maximum 33% per duck). slaughtered Labrador).
When the first duck is killed this way, a time counter appears over the player's head, indicating how much time the player has to kill the next Labrador duck before losing the kill bonus.

DOMESTICATION:

The Labrador duck is a very skittish creature, as soon as they sense the presence of a player, they tend to go into escape mode, which alerts all the other ducks around them, and they fly away as quickly as possible. Therefore, the only way to get a Labrador duck is through its eggs. The problem is that this species is known to hide its nests extremely well, to the point where they are not visible to players. They only appear when a player feeds a wild female without scaring her so she can feel comfortable returning to the nest. The nest can literally be anywhere, from under water to on top of a tree, so you have to follow the whole process with extreme caution, so as not to frighten the female, and be able to follow her to the nest.
Labrador ducks are big fans of kibbles, which are used to feed the females. To do this, the player must place the duck feeder close to where he sees the female he wants to feed, and add the kibble to his inventory. From that moment on, the player must move away and keep an eye on the feeder. When the female eats the kibble (the amount of kibble she eats varies according to her level) and is satisfied, she will flap her wings, and then begin her return to her nest. The movement starts slowly, but at some point, it starts to move quickly. The player must follow her from a distance where she cannot see him, until she reaches the nest. As the location is extremely random, she can walk, swim or fly, so it's not an easy task to follow her. And since it's not a tame, the player can't track the female through the taming menu, so you have to keep an eye on her at all times!
When the female arrives at the nest, she will stop and look around to make sure she is not being followed. She will again flap her wings, and then the nest will become visible, she will climb onto the eggs, and the player will then be able to approach.
When the female senses the presence of the player, she will retreat, leaving the eggs on display, and the player can finally collect them. Each nest can have 0 to 4 eggs available.
NOTE: Both puppies and adult Labrador ducks consume only kibbles, any kibble, the player must pay attention to this before starting its creation.
