BASIC INFO

Group: Mammal

Diet: Omnivore

Temperament: Docile

WILD

In the arid desert of Scorched Earth, the clever and resourceful Golden Jackal roams alone, often accompanied by a Jerboa perched on its head. The Jerboa serves not only as a helpful companion, assisting the jackal in finding food and providing additional protection, but also as a natural defense mechanism. Interestingly, most wild creatures will not attack a Golden Jackal with a Jerboa on its head, except for the formidable wyverns and rock elementals. In the event that the Jerboa is killed, the Golden Jackal becomes despondent and vengeful, relentlessly hunting down the perpetrator and engaging in honorable battles with the strongest foes it can find to restore its honor and reunite with its lost companion.

TAMED

The Golden Jackal, once tamed, can become a valuable asset for any desert explorer. When paired with certain creatures, such as vultures or hyenadons, it gains additional abilities, such as scouting for dangerous creatures or increasing the rate of passive taming. Similar to other creatures like the wolf, equis, and tropeognathus, it can be ridden without a saddle, but its true potential is unlocked when equipped with one.

SADDLE

The Golden Jackal's true potential is unlocked when equipped with a saddle that takes advantage of its unique bonding abilities with other creatures. This saddle has two baskets on each side for hyenadons, a perch on the back for vultures, and a flamethrower seat above the Jackal's head for a trained Jerboa to sit on and man at your command. With this saddle, the Golden Jackal becomes an even more powerful asset for scouting and combat.

TAMING

The Golden Jackal, unlike other creatures, has a unique taming method that requires the player to approach the wild jackal that lost it's Jerboa without any weapons drawn but with a tamed Jerboa on your shoulder. The jackal becomes curious and will approach the player, allowing itself to be tamed after a friendly interaction. Once tamed, the player can train the jackal to accept a Jerboa as a rider on its head, providing protection and additional advantages. However, taming the Golden Jackal without a weapon can be challenging as other predators may attack during the process. It is recommended that tamers bring other tamed creatures or wait for the right opportunity to ensure a successful taming.
