The desert Scarab is a diverse breed of beetle. coming in 3 variants, Lapis, Emerald and Ruby.
Each Variant holds a unique set of abilities that the ark Survivor can take advantage of. Each Variant has a different array of patterns so survivors need to observe carefully to ensure they tame their desired Scarab.
Passive Tame: u need bug repellent. Feed it fertilized Eggs, after that it was secrete A pheromone that will attract enemy dinos, u will have to fend it off. Repeat the process. Like an extinction element vain.
Tamed
The desert Scarab is a shoulder pet that sits on your back.
All types share the 2 abilities. Weight reduction to all resources,
but increased weight reduction to Eggs. And all act as an organic fridge. Keeping your Eggs safe!
The different Variants
In order for the different effects can take place The Scarab must consume a fertilized Egg.
(Note: Scarabs will not eat the Eggs by themselves you need to manually feed them in their inventory. You can access it just like a Sinomacrops)
Variant 1 (Called a Lapis Scarab😞 greatly boosts the chance that a baby Dino has a mutation,
in the range of the Desert Scarab also increases the speed that babies grow,
if the baby has a mutation on it it’s will grow even faster.
Variant 2 (Called a Emerald Scarab😞 will produce a pheromone that acts like a bug repellent keeping u safe from bugs,
greatly reduces torpor damage allowing u to eg: survive a group of trodons for a greater time.
Variant 3 (Called a Ruby Scarab😞 increases DMG dealt by the Survivor and also increases your armor.
When mounted these buff will be given to the mount.
The quality of buffs given to the character/mount are dependent on the quality of fertilized eggs the Scarab consumes.
The greater the quality,
Variant 1 (Lapis Scarab) : the greater the increase chance of mutation (up to 95% chance), greater the increase of growth speed.
Variant 2 (Emerald Scarab) : the greater the increases of duration of pheromone, and the greater increase of resistance to torpor.
Variant 3 (Ruby Scarab) : the greater increase to DMG buff and armor
