Herrerasaurus: The Ancient Hunter

Herrerasaurus is a medium sized nocturnal saurischian dinosaur found roaming the wastelands of Scorched Earth. It is a formidable predator, using its excellent night vision to seek out its prey before striking and ripping it to shreds with its razor sharp teeth and claws. However, these aren’t the things that make the Herrerasaurus so dangerous. The reason they are so deadly is their high intelligence and social nature, meaning they hunt in packs. When tamed, the Herrerasaurus acts as a fast and agile war mount that can hold its own in battle against even the toughest enemies. It can also bestow upon its rider its incredible night vision, making it an excellent mount for scouting out the most hostile environments.

One of my favorite dinosaurs

Herrerasaurus is a genus of saurischian dinosaurs from the Late Triassic period. This genus was one of the earliest dinosaurs from the fossil record. Its name means "Herrera's lizard", after the rancher who discovered the first specimen in 1958 in South America.

Was a big part of evolution and is such a mystery with the very different bone structure it has.

People might say it looks like a raptor but 

The Herrerasaurus is 3 times the age as a raptor

A Herrerasaurus was 4-7ft tall and about 7-15ft in total length,

A raptor was only approximately 1.5ft tall, 6ft long

Size: So scaling could be very different and a Herreasauraus could easily be a mid-game tame to share the spot with Carno and Allo. Was bit smaller than baryonix in real life

Design: The Herresauraus by being older had more lizard-like things while still being connected to other future dinos like the more bird closer velociraptor. It saddle Could be a two-seater perfect for two-person taming early game

Locations: It could be on the edges of the swamp or on beaches of harder zones sharing spawns with Sarcosuchus since it had been more reptile related.

Stats: it could have the same strength as an Allosaur or Carnosaur while still having the close speed to a Baryonyx including a pack bonus. Maybe one weak thing would be it had less health or didn't have the best weight kind of like a raptor. 

Some Ability ideas:

One thing it would do when hunting herbivore prey is it would attack the neck of the prey maybe making a player screen automatically bloody even if there is no low health.

It can make a loud roar ONLY in water that auto makes Herresauraus gain a certain amount of health and other creature surrounding half of that certain amount.

another special thing it would be able to do is to have unlimited stamina like iguanodon. CON would be not being as fast as others maybe being the same speed as maybe a Baryonix

It can run up and down inclines like walls or trees but cannot cling to them. Can only stay up on a wall for 10 seconds and then fall off. For that time it has a sorta stealth or camouflage that goes on and off

Taming: The taming could be feeding it prime meat,Mutton, or kibble of some kind from behind after putting on some ghillie or some other kind of skin to make it not attack you.

 

Note: I have never done this before and this was my first time I hope people take the time to look at this.

Wild:

Herrerasaurus can usually be found roaming 3-5km from the fountain, for there are large amounts of preys for them to prey on and few  native predators

Herrerasaurus are just a little taller than human in height, but in the desert that the colossuses become rampant in, Herrerasaurus’ poor physique make them can only behave like the low tier predators in the wild.

 

But, fortunately, Herrerasaurus has a nice ear for sounds，which not only helps them hunt in the dark night, but also does a favor for Herrerasaurus to detect the potential danger underfoot

 

Domesticated：

Survivors may come across more difficulties when taming Herrerasuaurs in compare with other small-scale creatures, for they are quite susceptible and sensitive during the day time thus running away from any creatures that are getting close to them, and any overdose narcotic may kiil them instantly.

 

Herrerasuaurs can check and meassure the surroundings by their auditory sense and share relating information with the rider/ survivors, and Herrerasaurus are expert in running, so they are well received among the miniature tribes
