Hosting Dedicated on Xbox PC Gamepass version

Hey Everyone,

I started playing Ark since it's included in my Xbox PC gamepass. However, it's hard to find servers with early days, and most players are way too advanced. Hence, I want to start my own server with some buddies. I also happen to own the Epic version, but my friends do not.

SO, on the xbox pc gamepass version of the game, clicking "Dedicated Server" option, causes the Game to remain running, so I'm not able to join my own game because the game is being used by the server. This is unlike the Epic Store version where you can run the dedicated server from a command prompt.

Questions:

- How can I join my own game when hosting a dedicated server on the Xbox PC Gamepass version?

- Or even better, how do I run a dedicated server in a command prompt with this version? That would be great so I can leave it running and also use the actual game to join.

- Is there anyway I can join the SteamCMD server from Xbox PC Gamepass?

 

Any other options without paying? I could ask them to get the Epic version, but seems silly if they already have it w/ xbox pc gamepass.
