For starters, ARK is amazing in so many ways yet due to on going issues with it, how long does Studio Wildcard expect it to be around or in business? Currently there are several AAA gaming companies that are doing massive layoffs and others shuttering their door forever and others soon to follow. As much as I enjoy ARK, I wonder how they will push past where other AAA companies have failed. I the player only paid for the season pass to access all the maps and have no monthy payments or any virtual land tarrif fees for the amount of land I have occupied. For example, Linden Labs created a virtual world called Second Life which has a monthly fee, along with monthly land tarrif fees for virtual land I occupy. These fees pay for the real world data storage and server expenses on their side. I bring them up as an example since ARK has virtual land which takes up real world data storage and requires server expenses by them to keep it going. If Studio Wildcard adopted a business model simular to Linden Labs (more than mentioned here) they may find it would resolve having no available land to build on along with having a steady income to resolve current/future gaming issues. ARK could allow one FREE plot of land for personal use and/or one Larger plot for Tribe use. Any additional land claimed by the placement of one ore more object would start a real world land tarrif chage based on land size each object is claming. The more land claimed, the higher the land tarrif montly cost. In the case of ARK, if a person or Tribe wish/needed to execced the alloted free land size given to them, they would need to pay in advance to aquire the 1st tier level and with each larger tier costing a larger amount thus increasing the monthy real world charge. ARK is an excellent open world experiance and should open to all those new and old. My idea is only among the hundreds that have been recommened over the past years ( per my recent research) to ongoing issues that in my experiance in the gaming/I.T industry, should have been addressed some time ago. Keep up the great work and may your solutions arrive before the cash flow is shut off due to issues gaming companies experiance.
Hello Readers, Curious question, it's known that 6x damage is taken in caves and underwater. However, is it reasonable to think, that if someone is reaching your walls and turrets anyways that 6x damage will make that large of a difference? That and usually having an option with caves, being able to funnel your attackers to enter through one entryway. Please, tell me your opinions of the pros and cons of the three locations.
Ark has so much to offer, how can you have such a HUGE fault in your programming? Entirely too exploitable. For instance, in my server there are 2 tribes that have dominated over half of the usable island area, simply placing stone pillars with ladders on them and flying around the map every few days. Problem: Abuse of Territory Claiming via Pillars/structures. Possible Solutions: - Make a new tile specifically for claiming land, give it a solid 30 meter circumference, and a limit of using only 10 per person. - Make claimed territory a much smaller circumference, and a limit to amount of pillars allowed to be built per tribe. - Have land only claimed when fencing is surrounding and connected, within a limit of however many fence/gate tiles. (say approx 50 walls +/- Gates) all land within this fence line is claimed, and the circumference outside its normal radius that others cannot build near their base. - Have at a GMs meticulously check each server every day. (Costly!) (I use meter as the in game measure of unit of distance, not sure what you actually use) Each solution has its pros and cons. I feel it would finally end the ridiculous monopoly that some tribes have on PVE. There are literally tribes that have taken ENTIRE regions of the map and claimed them.
