MONGOLARACHNE: THE WASTELAND ARACHNID
PxrpleLightning posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
THE MONGOLARACHNE Basic Info: When you think of Extinction, you usually don't think of a normal dinosaur-looking creature. Unlike most other maps, the vast majority of new creatures introduced with the Extinction map are completely different looking creatures, meaning that a new basic dinosaur creature wouldn't fit the theme of the map. Instead of a dinosaur, however, there are many other types of prehistoric animals (and bugs) that can be used as a substitution. The Mongolarachne was a large spider-like creature with unique features making it fit in with other Extinction creatures such as the Velonosaur, Gacha, and Managarmr. Wild Creature Info: The Mongolarachne is an intelligent creature living in the wastelands and relying on other creatures to weaken its prey before it hunts. Since the Mongolarachne does not want to waste energy or its life attacking things that are bigger than it, it waits for its prey to become weak enough for it to snatch it up before the other creature hunting its prey is able to kill the prey. This would obviously upset the creature hunting, however the Mongolarachne is fast enough to escape any threats before it's attacked. When the Mongolarachne is attacked, however, if it does not have any prey, it will attack back. But, if the Mongolarachne is carrying its prey, for example if it's running away with its prey after stealing food from another creature, it will not attack back, but instead it will carry its prey and run away. However, if it gets weak enough, it will drop its prey and run. The Mongolarachne will also have a damage reduction for ranged weaponry, and can be used to counter the Velonosaur. Taming Info: To tame the Mongolarachne , the player must be of low enough health while near one, and then the Mongolarachne will grab the player and start running off with them, in an attempt to bring the player to a safe place to eat. However, when the Mongolarachne finds a place to eat, if the player is carrying a creature, the Mongolarachne will begin to eat the creature that the player is carrying, giving the player time to run away. This process must be repeated until the Mongolarachne has been tamed. Tamed Ability Info: Web Shooting Like the Araneo, the Mongolarachne has the ability to shoot webs, however these webs deal damage for as long as the target is stuck. For players that are webbed, there will be a large web blocking a large portion of their screen, making their visibility sharply decrease. These webs can be cut by a sword or other melee weapon and silk is needed as ammo for the web shooting. Wall Crawling Although many other creatures can crawl up and around vertical walls and terrain, the Mongolarachne is different. When crawling on these spaces, the Mongolarachne will become hidden, making it difficult to spot for creatures that are both hostile and passive. When the Mongolarachne shoots webs or attacks, its hidden ability will wear off, making it vulnerable to being seen by enemies. This hidden ability also works on other player turrets and dinos, decreasing the range that other players turrets and dinos can detect the Mongolarachne from. Cave/Nighttime Buff When inside of a cave, or during nighttime, the Mongolarachne will gain a buff. Wild Mongolarachne cannot receive this buff since they live primarily in the wastelands where it is always daytime. This buff will decrease the amount of damage intake the Mongolarachne has, and increase the duration of the webs that the Mongolarachne shoots. Underground Burrowing Like the Purlovia, Basilisk, and a few others, the Mongolarachne has the ability to burrow underground and hide from other creatures or players. This burrowing ability can be used to store items, however when inside of this burrow, the Mongolarachne is extremely vulnerable to explosives and surprise attacks, and if attacked while in the burrow, the Mongolarachne will come out of the burrow and drop any items that are in its inventory. Let me know what you think of my creature, and vote for it if you would like to see it in Extinction! Thanks -
Sardinian dhole - the wastelands scavenger
ApocalypseGal posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Name: Sardinian dhole Species: Cynotherium sardous Time: Late Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore The Sardinian dhole is an extinct insular canid. It went extinct at the end of the Pleistocene. It is a medium-sized species of canid that originally lived in the Mediterranean islands of Sardinia (Italy) and Corsica (France) during the Pleistocene. They are solitary animals and prey on smaller fast creatures. Since the dhole’s diet is limited to smaller prey, they specialized in hunting small fast-moving creatures. You can spot these canids hunting and scavenging alone or with small groups of the same species in the wastelands hunting for weak, injured or small creatures. They are super curious about survivors have been seen curiously going up to them however they seem to avoid them when there are a lot of other creatures around. Some say that if you feed it once it goes up to you that they will allow you to pet them overtime you will be able to form a bond with them allowing you to tame them. Abilities. Sardinian dhole doesn’t just make great companions as a survivor’s best friend, but they are great at tracking. Tracking. - able to detect weak/injured creatures, or even dangerous threats. - able to detect and locate your own creatures, can help you track down any of your missing creatures. Scavenging. - the ability to dig I have heard from other tribes that some may even find some interesting loot. - they could even be able to find and pick up dropped/lost bags dropped from survivors. Guard dog -able to detect and alert (barking, growling) survivors of any wild/tamed creatures or other survivors that may pose a threat. links: https://sciifii.fandom.com/wiki/Sardinian_dhole https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sardinian_dhole -
I am not an artist at all and created the concept art on my phone so don't mind how crappy it looks. After the fall of humanity on earth leaving the planet in ruins, one creature stands above all as the everlasting specimen. The Megaloblatta Evolved over time and grew to fit its corrupted wasteland home, their large outer shell protects the weak body of this creature and hardens when it feels threatened. Due to the harsh environment, the weaker portion of the Megaloblatta have corrupted like its fellow surviving creatures to form an apex scavenger in the wasteland. Abilities: - Passively makes the food/water of nearby survivors decrease slower when inside the wasteland. - At 50% health hardens it's shell and gets a defence upgrade. - Acid Spit which slows enemies hit with it and deals minor overtime damage. - Can shed its shell to reveal wings which allow for the Megaloblatta to temporarily fly. - When it sheds its shell defence is decreased but movement speed / stamina is increased. - Bury itself underground to escape predators. - Does not need a saddle to ride but the saddle should be used. Saddle: The saddle of this creature allows for the shell to be shedded on command to allow the Megaloblatta to fly permanently, once flying the saddle can be activated to stretch and spread out the wings for a steady glide similar to a Rock Drake. Although once the creature lands its saddle automatically closes up and will not open back up for a limited amount of time. The saddle itself allows for the Megaloblatta to store up acid to unleash a larger scale spray attack. Taming: - Find the Megaloblatta within the wasteland. - Stand a tamed predator nearby the creature so it's wings will open up ready to flee. - Sneak up to the creature before it flees and passive feed it Corrupted Nodules. - Repeat process until it is tamed. Mating: The mating process of these creatures needs both parents to have saddles equipped. The shell restricts mating within the species so they need to shed the shell in order to mate, you need to use the saddle to open up the shell and allow for the creature to breed. Concept Art: The purple on the second image is the corrupted section, I know it's hard to understand hahaha.

The Tasmanian Devil , The agressive shoulder pet
Wolfee22 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Image from Mels Hills wild art Common name: Tasmanian Devil Species: Marsupial Time: Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: short-tempered Wild: In the wild you will mostly find this creature around a forest or the redwoods. It is a solitary creature so it mostly be found on it's own. But be careful because this creatures is skittish and will run anyway quickly . The Tasmanian devil is mostly a scavenger and will feed of dead carcases around it but it will sometimes go and hunt anuyhting to the size of a hyenadon. Domesticated: The tamanian devil is a shoulder pet that every survivor will want to have with them , it has a damage bonus to small creatures to the size of a hyenadon . It will also protect the survivor from any small creatures with it's growl . Taming: The tasmanian Devil can get spooked really easily so to tame it you have to drag the body of a dead creature to it and let it eat and after it has eating enough it will come over to you and then you pet it. Combat: The tasmanian Devil is not the best of fighters with the bigger creatures of the ark but against some of the smaller creatures it has yet to be beaten , it has a passive damage boost againt any creature up to the size of a hyenadon. Sharp claws: With it's sharp claws it will be usefull to any survivor who has been hit by a bola or a net projectile , because with it's sharp claws your tamed Tasmanian Devil will come and set you free by cutting the net projectile or bola and can do the same to another tamed dinosaur if it's been whistled to it.- 1 reply
