JoseGVA posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Time Period: Early Permian Classification: Temnospondyli Size: Intermediate between a Sarcosuchus and a Megalania Tameable: Yes Breedable: Yes WILD In the lands of Valguero, where extreme biomes challenge even the fiercest predators, the Eryops Venenifer stands out as a master of adaptation. This massive amphibian, with its thick and toxic skin, patrols the rivers of the Aberrant zone, swamps, and the depths of lakes. Its peaceful nature contrasts with its lethal defensive abilities—any predator that attacks it will suffer dire consequences. When threatened, the Eryops releases lethal toxins from its skin, generating a cloud of paralyzing spores or a toxic mist that weakens its enemies. Its affinity for radiation makes it an unstoppable beast in radioactive biomes, where it becomes faster, more resilient, and regenerates health at an accelerated rate. Additionally, the Eryops is completely immune to poison effects. Neither the corrosive gas of a Basilisk, nor the toxic breath of a Poison Wyvern, nor even the toxins of its own species can affect it. While mounted, the survivor also gains total poison immunity, making it the ultimate ally against toxic threats. Although slow on land, the Eryops moves with incredible agility in water, surpassing the speed of many aquatic creatures. Its massive body and hydrodynamic shape make it an exceptional swimmer, dominating rivers and lakes as its true territory. DOMESTICATED Taming an Eryops Venenifer is a challenge that rewards survivors with a resilient and versatile mount. Its radiation resistance, poison immunity, and toxic abilities make it a mobile fortress, ideal for exploration in the most hostile environments and for strategic battles. TAMING METHOD Taming the Eryops requires passive feeding, but it is not without risks. While not aggressive, approaching it to feed comes with the danger of contacting its toxic skin, which can poison the player and cause progressive damage. Managing this risk properly is key to successfully completing the taming process. ABILITIES PASSIVE ABILITIES 🛡 Poison Immunity ✔ The Eryops is completely immune to all types of poison, including attacks from Basilisks, Poison Wyverns, and Arthropleuras. ✔ While a survivor is mounted, they also gain immunity to poison effects. ☢ Radiation Affinity ✔ In radioactive zones, the Eryops regenerates health three times faster. ✔ Its speed increases by 30% and damage received is reduced by 30%. ✔ Grants radiation immunity to the mounted player, with the effect lasting 60 seconds after dismounting. 🌊 Aquatic Dominance ✔ Swims faster than many aquatic creatures, surpassing the speed of Megalodons and Basilosaurus. ✔ Reduces oxygen consumption for the mounted player, allowing deep exploration without the risk of drowning. ✔ Has excellent maneuverability in water, making it a powerful aquatic predator. 🛡 Venomous Skin: Any creature that attacks the Eryops in melee will be poisoned, suffering progressive damage and increased torpor over time. Smaller creatures may even flee in fear due to the toxicity. This makes the Eryops even more formidable in close combat! 🕵️ Natural Camouflage: When staying still for a few seconds, the Eryops can blend into its environment, making it nearly invisible in swamps, rivers, and muddy terrain. While camouflaged, most predators won’t detect it unless it moves or attacks. This ability allows the Eryops to ambush unsuspecting prey or avoid unnecessary fights SPECIAL ABILITIES 🧪 Poison Crafting ✔ The Eryops can craft different types of poisons in its inventory. ✔ Each poison corresponds to a specific bite attack. 🦷 Bite Attacks ☠ Paralyzing Bite (Uses Paralyzing Poison 🟢) 📌 Effect: ✔ Dramatically increases torpor in the target. ✔ Can immobilize small creatures or slow down larger ones. ✔ Ideal for capturing enemies or controlling crowds in battle. 🔩 Corrosive Bite (Uses Corrosive Poison 🔴) 📌 Effect: ✔ Similar to the Arthropleura’s attack, damaging armor and structures. ✔ Reduces the durability of armor based on its material: Tek, metal, and riot armor → Suffers the greatest durability loss. Hide, fur, and chitin → Moderate durability loss. Cloth and ghillie → Lower durability loss, but still takes damage. ✔ Can damage all types of structures, including Tek, metal, stone, wood, thatch, and adobe. ✔ Over time, it can weaken any construction. ☢ Radioactive Bite (Uses Radioactive Poison ☢) 📌 Effect: ✔ Inflicts radiation poisoning, causing progressive radiation damage. ✔ Each bite renews the effect for 10 seconds. ✔ Does not ignore armor but can stack with other damage effects. 🚫 Anti-Healing Bite (Uses Healing Suppressant Poison ⚫) 📌 Effect: ✔ Prevents the target from regenerating health for a set period of time. ✔ Especially useful against enemies with passive regeneration or active healing abilities (such as Daedons or Reapers). 🌫 Other Attacks ✔ ☠ Spore Cloud (Area of Effect - Debuff) Releases a cloud of spores, disorienting and weakening nearby enemies. Effect: Reduces speed, blurs vision, and decreases resistance for a set duration. ✔ ☣ Toxic Cloud (Area of Effect - Continuous Damage) Generates a poisonous mist that deals continuous damage to any creature within its radius. Effect: Enemies inside the area take constant damage and lose resistance over time. 📜 HELENA’S NOTES "The Eryops Venenifer is a master of poisons. Not only is it immune to all known toxins, but it can create its own unique versions to use in combat. Unlike other venomous creatures, this amphibian can choose which poison to use, adapting to any situation." "A survivor who understands how to utilize its toxic arsenal will have one of the most versatile mounts on the island. In radiation, it is an unstoppable colossus. In water, it is a predator. And on land, it is a nightmare for any enemy unprepared to face its venom." -
Hello everyone, so far we have had several flying creatures that could be employed as war vehicles ( the tropeognathus as a fighter, the astrocetus as a bomber, the quetzal as a airbase, the rhyniognatha as a helicopter...) the idea behind this creature is that of an explosive aircraft used raze enemy bases. Here is the Radiodactylus dossier for you. Wild: while looking for a flying creature, amidst a group of pteranodons i noticed strange specimens with atypical features; upon closer examination i realized that they were radiodactyls, which despite having developed an evolutionary convergence with pteranodons are actually related to quetzals. They are rather shy of humans, but not as much as tapejara, being attracted to loud noises such as explosions. In addition, some rumors speak of the existence of radioactive specimens, which are very rare to find and it seems that the only way to distinguish them are luminescent eyes and mouth (i recommend not approaching them without the proper protection). Domesticated: do not became too attached to this animal; those who domesticate these pterosaurs do so almost exclusively for military purpose; in fact, its saddle is equipped with compartments for bombs, explosive material and an ejector seat complete with parachute. With its scream it reinforces the allied air forces and once the dive is activated it can no longer be stopped, it is up to the pilots to decide to disengage in time to save themself or get caught up in the crash. If already the explosion caused by the impact of radiodactyl is something devastating, i do not want to imagine the outcome if it was a radioactive specimen that was thrown against a base. Taming: in order to tame this pterosaur you must first attract its attention, use something explosive or fire a shotgun blast into the air. Afterwards the radiodactylus will stop and turn towards you, after which you pull out a grenade but do not throw it, hold the grenade in your hand until the radiodactylus opens its mouth, at which point you throw the grenade straight into the animal's mouth if you miss the trajectory and the grenade explodes near the animal then it will fly away, it is not necessary to throw it precisely into the mouth, if the grenade is close enough to the head the radiodactylus will swallow it directly, for low level specimens one grenade will be enough to stun it, for higher level specimens it may take several grenades, once stunned put the food in the inventory and wait until it is tamed. Skills: Explosive dive: this skill works only in flight and after reaching a considerable height, reached the right height by pressing the right click the radiodactylus will perform a dive that cannot be stopped, at that point the pilot can decide whether to parachute or to stay on the saddle and die in the explosion, if youmanage to shoot down a radiodactylus in a dive with precise headshots the animal dies and does not explode, if instead you accurately hit the bombs on the saddle the animal will explode in the air. Air support: as the third move the radiodactylus will emit a scream that will provide an overshadowing to flying creatures, making them more resistant during air attacks, this buff works only in the air. Unique features: Explosion:as mentioned in the dossier, this animal is able to explode when it impacts the target, the strength of the explosion varies depending on the level of the animal and the damage, an explosion of a basic level radiodactylus and higher than that caused by 4 packets of C4, a high level radiodactylus with good damage statistics could destroy a small metal base. Radioactivity: some radiodactylus specimens possess luminescent green eyes, they are very rare and are radioactive, if thrown at a target they generate explosive power similar to that of an atomic bomb, not only can they destroy a large base, but the affected area is contaminated for a limited time by radiation, making access impossible without the proper protections, enhancing the damage will result in a greater blast range and a longer contamination time. If a radioactive radiodactylus is mated with a normal one the probability that a radioactive specimen will be born is 5%, to be absolutely certain of producing radioactive pups the parents must also be radioactive. Ejector seat: the seat of the radiodactylus is heavier than that of other flyers, to make it in addition to the usual components (fiber, metal ingots, leather...) you will also need pyro powder, gunpowder, and a parachute. When the radiodactylus is in a dive you can eject by staying on the seat from which you can also shoot. If you have ejected, once on the ground the seat can be collected and reused, you can repairit if you have sustained damage in flight but it will need to be refilled with a new parachute, the seat and the saddle must be built separately and then assembled together in order to ride the animal. If you want to have fun blowing everything up vote Radiodactylus for Valguero.
