This unique predator lives up to it’s shadowy reputation. The Maip is able to literally hide and stalk from the shadows in total silence. Able to run, on both two legs or on all fours, it is able to thrive in a variety of environments, using element to it’s advantage, by feeding on the corruption instead of the other way around. A formidable force to be sure. Wild: The Maip is a cunning hunter that thrives in multiple environments, taking on new appearances in whatever environment it is in. This creature is able to leap almost as high as a Managmr, which they seem to have a rivalry with, usually by tackling them outta the sky, and using their corruption laced venom to incapacitate them. Due to their unique biology, they are likely able to disappear in the shadows, their glowing red eye’s remaining. They also seem to have a lust for blood, as it both feeds and enhances them, while also induces them into a rage. Domesticated:They are multiple different ways to tame these shadowy creatures. One way is to find their nest, and steal a couple of eggs to raise them from birth. Another way…to unleash its beast. Draw the pack towards a group of corrupt creatures, and let them get to work, feeding of the corruption and their blood. The reason they enjoy this, is because it upgrades both their teeth, and their terrible claws, turning them purple with corruption. However, when doing eithe blood, or corruption sends these creatures into a frenzy. In this state, help them kill as many corrupted as possible, while also protecting them, and they will protect you and your tame in return. The third way to earn their loyalty…is with fish. When a Maip pack approaches you, drop as many fish baskets as you can, and the pack will begin to devour the fish inside. On all fours: Left click: bite Right click: Slash Spacebar: Leap Tail whip Screech On Two legs. Bite: Corruption Venom Slash Double slash Jump/ pounce: Enable the Maip To jump high enough to clamp unto Managmr wings to bing it down. Asthetic Roar. Fishing: whenever this creature is in a large enough body of water, or a river or stream, it dips its claws in the water to hook fish. Water buff: While swimming or walking in water it gets a buff, similar to a spino and its claws and eyes turn a watery color. New Abilities: Frenzy: when enough corruption is consumed, the Maip will enter a frenzied state, it’s claws and eyes will glow purple, along with its body, and it’s damage will increase, lashing out at every enemy around it. It also takes less damage while in this state. (plz help me come up with ideas)

Xenosmilus – Devourer of TEK Xeno „Strange“ Smilus „Smile“ "You really don't want that cat up your Tek pants and Tek housing when it's hangry." Edit: Please read the description and don't judge creatures by design and fancy art/weapons or massive size alone. The developers take both things into consideration and I would very much appreciate your time as well. 💙 If the dangerloaf gets into the top 10 until the 7th of September I'll try to gather some time to draw an additional artwork for it that shows the design better until the voting ends so we can unfold its full potential! ^^ Initially, I brewed the design together for the sake of living out ideas/desires I collected throughout my whole 1000+ hour experience in ARK and to add features to the game that I think would be quite essential and fun as a mechanic without copy-pasting too many creature features that already exist in the game, or go "too abstract" on the concept. I was really short on time when creating and posting this thanks to multiple stressful life events - but I really appreciate those who like the idea regardless. Give the kitty a chance. I know you want a kitty. I know you want a really fierce kitty. And I know you want to pet it. >:) Foreword There’s always been this one unique creature I was missing in the game that isn’t extremely slow but super useful, massive in size, too powerful (be it small or large), or too basic which is capable of farming element/Tek-related resources very efficiently and being an overall fun-to-have tame and battlemount. On top of that, the wasteland of Extinction (and potentially deserts of other maps) generally feel pretty devoid of true -generally unnoticable- dangers, as well as dangers for Tek structures and armor. Today I am happily presenting you my idea – the Xenosmilus. This creature will not be re-submitted to other map votes as its abilities and appearance only fit on Extinction. Species info Xenosmilus hodsonae is a saber-toothed feline from the Lower Pleistocene of North America. Fossils of this genus, which reached about the size of a modern-day lion, are more than one million years old. So far only two partial skeletons have been found in Florida. For ARK the size has been scaled-up by a minimum. Species: Xenosmilus Time: Calabrian of the Pleistocene Groups: Felidae Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Territorial, reactive Body build: Agile, semi-tank About (Wild) This creature roams in small groups (1 male and 3-4 females) and occasionally hunts small to mid-sized creatures for a quick snack. Groups of these large cats can be found resting on the ground when there is no imminent danger, but be careful – they can sense anything nearby and are usually quick to attack. The Xenosmilus is highly territorial and will definitely not shun away from attacking anything equal in size on sight, even as lone wanderers, taking the danger of Extinction‘s wasteland to a whole new level. Corrupted creatures do not attack this animal, as it doesn’t emit natural heat signatures and smells due to elemental corruption covering a large portion of its body, and it is said that it is able to „hide“ its rider atop of its own back by emitting elemental smoke from strange openings on the sides of its neck which allows humans to roam among most creatures unnoticed so long as the smoke cloud persists and the cat is ridden. It is important to note that this creature developed a liking for element/element dust much like some others did. It is said that the Xenosmilus enjoys the taste of element a lot, able to swallow/store element dust in its glowing throat sack and making this resource an important asset for its capabilities. Some say that this cat uses Element to reinforce and repair its own skeletal structures when it has been hurt. Appearance This creature is 60% organic and 40% corrupted, including a corruption replaced digestive tract, reinforced fangs and long, prehensile feelers behind its ears. Different to the mindless corrupted creatures roaming the wasteland, the Xenosmilus is fully self-aware of its actions unless enraged (more to that under „Abilities“). These cats generally appear in light colors matching the darker regions of their body, reflecting the extremely hot sunrays from its back in even the hottest regions – and a belly that is engulfed in corrupted tendrils preventing its skin and paws from burning on the hot sandy ground. The fangs are the most recognizable feature. Males have longer fangs than females and a noticeable mane covering their necks. When enraged, their eyes, fangs as well as throats and fur-spots glow blue. Abilities/Utilities The perfect wasteland/desert runner (utility) The Xenosmilus’ strong legs and great maneuverability make it to (possibly) one of the best options in crossing long distances such as deserts, wastelands, grasslands and even mountains. On Extinction it is primarily found in wastelands, some of them however have been found roaming in the sunken forest. Its smaller size also allows you to traverse certain caves on top of its fuzzy back, but not all. Element smoke (utility) Glands on each side of its neck can emit a strange smoke that is expelled when element dust is consumed from the creature’s inventory. It makes the rider practically invisible, but some creatures with sensitive noses or heat-signature reading abilities might be able to smell humans regardless of the smoke. Consuming element dust (from inventory - utility) When it consumes element dust (aka. element dust present in its inventory), its exposed throat sack starts glowing blue. The throat sack stores element dust (in theory) and the feline will heal faster. A useful grinder and element eater (utility/ability) With its massive, almost saw-blade-like fangs, the Xenosmilus is able to grind down element and element shards into element dust (much like the Parasaur is able to turn berries into seeds on click) it makes a crunch-crunch sound when you initiate the crunch. (approx. 1 Element per sec.) The grinding can be stopped by simply removing Element from its inventory or riding it. On top of that, its fangs allow this cat to collect element dust very efficiently from lamp posts, tek corpses, and element nodes. Tek-creature/mecha detection (ability) The large antennae extending from its ear regions provide this creature with a beneficial tek-creature and mechanical creature detection ability, capable of sensing electromagnetic interferences mechas emit in the air. This however has to be initiated with a button, and a „feeler twiddling“ animation will play before signs of nearby Tek creatures appear. (If there are no Tek creatures in range, no signs will show up.) With the sensory extensions all over its body, the cat can easily make out any approaching prey and predator by feeling vibration in the air and in the ground. Only loud and vibration-rich noise may shun the creature away, such as the scream of a Yuty, as this overloads its own senses. Controlled speed boost (ability buff) When element dust is consumed over time, the creature becomes exponentially faster but more difficult to maneuver as the turning radius increases. This boost is indicated with a bar at the bottom of the screen and lasts as long as element dust is in its inventory, and will stop after a 10 second timer once it is no longer exposed to this resource. This also means that killing a Tek creature will give it the option of a speed boost over time. I would think the element dust is consumed rather rapidly when holding down „shift“, depending on how much it moves around and how often the player decides to initiate the boost with „shift“. It gains the same speed boost around element nodes on Extinction without the need of element dust consumption, making it a fun ride for the defense missions in particular. When stopping to run but the boost still persists, the creature will re-gain its initial speed almost immediately as long as the speed boost bar is charged. Element dust consumption will decrease as soon as the bar is fully charged and the creature enters the enraged stadium. Weight reduction (utility) Element, element dust, element shards and element ore are greatly weight reduced when in the cat‘s inventory. Courage (buff) As a pack of three to four in the wild or tamed, the Xenosmilus male gains a pack leader buff (swirly flames around its back), and the pack (wild) begins to dare attacking larger creatures than their own as each of them gain more resistance against bite-attacks (wild and tamed). The group leader can give the pack a buff called „courage“, but this buff only lasts as long as the other pack members remain close by, and as long as the cat is not enraged. The same applies to tamed ones. Your tamed group of any size only needs one leader so the others gain the courage buff. If there are more males in your tamed group, the male with the highest level will become the pack’s alpha. Bleed (inflicted debuff) The fangs are a dangerous weapon and can cause a strong bleeding debuff upon impact when right clicking, slowing down survivors and small to mid-sized creatures. (Even when mounted.) This does not reduce health faster; it merely exists to immobilize others. Element rage (reactive ability) Element rage is initiated when the creature has been exposed to element dust for some time (when the boost bar reached its maximum). You can see the enraged mood the more body regions start glowing or as a warning symbol on your screen when riding it in addition to the bar. The rage removes the courage buff as the creature no longer cares about who is friend or fiend (except for its owner and tribe tames), making it attack everything within its own sight (basically set to „aggressive“ without the ability to remove said behavior), so make sure not to leave element dust in its inventory for too long when standing around bases or in the wild. To avoid random attacks, remove the element dust from the inventory and transfer it to your own or another tame. The resistance against bite attacks when no longer buffed vanishes, however – health regenerates even faster than normal when enraged, making killing a Xenosmilus to a difficult task if you don’t have a good tame or weapon with you. When exposed to nearby element nodes or having eaten a tek corpse, it has been observed that wild Xenos become extremely aggressive and territorial as element gives this feline a rush. This can become extremely dangerous and tedious if you run into a pack, so either pay attention to what you‘re walking into or try to disperse your tames and yourself farther away from the element node so the feline loses its rage buff, or wait out their rage from farther away. The speed and rage timer immediately runs out when the cat is no longer exposed to element dust in its inventory/near nodes. For balancing reasons, it might be better to not give this creature an additional damage buff when enraged, or exchange the damage buff with the fast regeneration one. (Open to suggestions.) On other maps that do not have element nodes, the Xenosmilus will only gain its rage buff when killing Tek creatures/collecting a bunch of element dust. This can be viewed as an unfortunate feature or as balancing since other (more „natural“) maps such as the Island, Ragnarock and partially Fjordur contain more down-to-earth creatures. Structure/armor damage When enraged, the Xenosmilus is capable of damaging Tek and Metal structures. Make sure to secure your housing properly. Metal and Tek armor also take at least 5x damage than normal when the cat is angry. Taming The Xenosmilus is a knock-out tame and must be fed pure element. The higher the level, the more element it consumes, making it to a mid to late game tame, especially because of its ravenous nature. However - taming one can be very rewarding, and the tame-game doesn’t simply stop there. Taming such a cat does not only consist of shooting it down, a wild Xeno must be lured to you (better yet into a cage/trap) before you can finally tame it. It can be lured in by crafting a specific bait consisting of mutton, crops, sap (…) and one Element. Without bait, you will not be able to tranquilize it. Once the cat consumed said bait, it will go into a mindless rage and will start attacking everything around it, even structures, so building a trap out of wood isn’t the best idea necessarily. Before the rage timer has run out, the cat must be fully tranquilized, so make sure to equip the best and fastest weapon you own. Once down, the kitty can be tamed. (Alternative taming method if the first one is too basic) Instead of taming an adult one, a wild cub has to be lured to you with element bait, then can be raised by you/a nanny dino. This is only possible if you remain undetected by their pack. Killing its parents will scare the baby off and it remains untamable. Other packs may adopt the cub and you can re-try your luck if it hasn’t been killed by wild creatures. Saddling The Xenosmilus will most likely not have a saddle due to the faster health regen when exposed to element/dust and even faster regeneration when enraged. Breeding/Raising Works like every other mammalian creature, but the feline should not be enraged, otherwise it will not do anything. Drops Hide, raw meat, (maybe a small amount of element dust) Other ideas I had but didn’t add: - The Xenosmilus has natural armor „thick skinned“, reason why it isn’t tamable until exposed to the bait ‚drug‘ which makes the cat vulnerable to torpor. - Cold/warm insulation when riding it due to its fur and cold skin - Courage roar, right claw smack - Instead of a bar that shows up, the Xeno has an additional „rage“ bar implemented into its system, like a second torpor bar. - Able to harvest black pearls ~Fin~ Since this is an early concept, I am more than open to suggestions regarding this creature. If something doesn’t float your boat, let me know and I will try to reply and add/change aspects of my writings. And of course, feel free to add your own ideas and pictures! Thank you kindly for checking out my post, and don’t feel afraid to vote if you would like to see this cat on Extinction in the upcoming ASA release (once the map is released). Have a good day! Dakosaurus: The vicious crocodile shark
DyAlmo180 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
I feel like we could use a better way to explore the oceans in ARK. With the head of a crocodile and a shark-like tail, this marine reptile could be an interesting addition to the ARK. Illustration by: Mario Lanzas (@mariolanzarensis) Wild: They would usually be found in groups close to the coast where they can catch prey on both water and land. They get a damage boost while in a pack and usually hunt together, with coordinated attacks. While not being the fastest land mount, they get the hydration speed boost, making them a fast option to traverse the ocean and shallow waters alike. Their bite causes deep wounds alerting other Dakosaurus around and they can sense the blood around them from far distances. They also get a speed boost when moving in the direction of a hurt prey (any animal within radius missing a percentage of their total health), allowing them to better hunt or even exit the water at a high speed. Domesticated: In order to tame a Dakosaurus, you must prevent it from getting back the water. This as, when submerged, their high speed makes them hard to tame. Therefor land taming is recommended. Once tamed, it may provide fast mobility and excellent damage. Each time a Dakosaurus lands a killing blow on a creature or player, it enters a temporary bloodthirsty state. During this state, they gain increased movement speed and damage (similar to the Megatherium boost), each consequent kill will restart the timer extending the fury state duration. If anyone has better ideas for this creature, please feel free to share them. I will make sure to build on this concept.- 1 reply

sound blaster Guanlong the Quill rattling Magnet
Elrad posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Wild: The Guanlong is one of the most unique creatures on this island…and one of the most dangerous. You’ll hear them before you see em, with their calls booming across their territory thanks to special throat sacs. At night however….do not believe everything you hear….it could be a fellow tribemate…or a cunning tropical predator. They also seem to have a…magnetic personality. Domesticated: Guanlongs are a very rare and unusual breed, with an even more unusual ability. Earning the trust of the pack is crucial, so what’s the best way to do this? Well, it may surprise you, but these hunters…are all about games! My inspiration for the Guanlongs was from the floating islands of the center itself. I figured it might have something to with Magnets….So why not a creature that can not only mimic sound….but can blast Magnetic energy waves? Any suggestions are welcome…as well as telling/showing how to make a dossier on an IPad 😅 Guanlongs use the same energy that makes the island float as a weapon. They are able to attack and repel enemies and objects with a sonic blast from their mouths, as well as use this ability in battle, granting them agility. Their quills and feathers will raise, signaling they have detected enemy tribes- 6 replies

Wild: Pyroraptors are some of the most dangerous creatures on this side of the island. Arsonists by nature, they take great delight in setting anything or anyone a blaze, whether it be trees, creatures, or survivors. Coming in many different colors, also comes with many different flames. Similar to a poison dart frog, the brighter and more colorful and vibrant it is, the deadlier the 🔥 flames. And if you think you’re safe from them in the arctic …..good luck with that cause you’re not. Domesticated: The only way to train a Pyroraptor,…is let it do what it does best, preferably with a bonfire, the bigger the better. Or,…appeal to its better nature. Pyroraptor actually love to swim, and do so on hot days, splashing playfully in the water, perhaps they’ll even let you join. Pyoraptors come in many different colors like modern day parrots, or other tropical birds and fish. In the arctic…they have fire so cold it burns…freezer burn to be more specific. Pyroraptors are able to set themselves aflame, and become living Flamethrowers, while in the arctic, they are covered with permafrost that cause frost bite and freezer burn. Open to any suggestions

TERATERPETON Abilities: Primary attack: Bite/Snatch Teraterpeton has a standard bite attack. However, by holding down the primary attack button you will charge a close range grabbing attack. This ability works on creatures up to the size of an Ovis. You can use the snatch offensively to grab shoulder pets off of survivors. First ability: Impaling tongue Teraterpeton’s tongue is sharp, strong, and dripping with venom. This venom allows Teraterpeton to disable the abilities of creatures for a time. While pierced by the tongue Creatures up to a medium size can be completely prevented from fleeing, but larger creatures can be slowed or stopped depending how many Teraterpeton are using Impaling tongue. . All sensing tongue is great for tracking creatures and resources. Using this ability will reveal the creatures (including their levels) and resource veins around you within a large radius. Third ability Crawling earth Teraterpeton is able to climb and is relatively quiet compared to other climbers. While climbing, Teraterpeton is able to use Impaling Tongue to drag small creatures into its mouth. Passive ability: Resistant scales Every once in a while Teraterpeton will shed its skin; this skin can be found inside of its inventory and can be crafted into cloaks which provide 50% resistance to torpor draining attacks and acid attacks. Wild Behavior: Teraterpeton stalks cloaked in the shadows of Aberration’s great roots. While hunting, they hide in darkness, waiting for prey to pass. When a mark walks by, Teraterpeton packs spring their trap! A flurry of tongues descend upon the prey, immobilizing the beast while the rest of the pack tears it to shreds. Teraterpeton babies can be found on the backs of females, watching the adults hunt. If the female they are riding on is killed they will quickly run away but can still be tamed using the methods listed below. Taming: Tranquilizers have no effect on Teraterpeton, instead, by throwing enough plant species Z fruit at a Teraterpeton it will begin to recognize the survivor as a consistent source of food (similar to how ducks respond to humans). After this has been achieved, the Teraterpeton will become passive to the player and respond to traditional passive taming methods, its favorite foods being mutton and plant species Z seeds. Tamed: When tamed, Teraterpeton make great pets for hunters and group explorers. They benefit greatly from pack mentality and can take down the largest prey when together. Their saddle allows the survivor to craft the aforementioned cloak. Additional Information: Teraterpeton is approximately Thylacoleo height and Carnotarus length. Teraterpeton has similar speed to a raptor. Teraterpeton lives in dark areas of the Green Zone and some areas of the Bioluminescent Zone. Teraterpeton is inspired by multiple creatures including the Argentine Giant Tegu, Giant anteaters, Komodo dragons, Canada goose, Cuban false chameleon, Three toed woodpecker, and Spoonbill duck. Conclusion: Teraterpeton is a fun new way to help assist with creature abilities An excellent addition to keep you on your toes in the caverns of Aberration! And if you like Teraterpeton make sure to… Credits: Art by @Annoyed_Persistence on Instagram, and Lapis Lazuli Dossier editing by Lapis Lazuli https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teraterpeton

Sinocalliopteryx "The Hunter Giant Compy of Aberration."
josipguic posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Common name: Sinocalliopteryx Species: Sinocalliopteryx bioluminescentis Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Agressive in packs Wild: Just like its cousin the Compsognathus, Sinocalliopteryx bioluminescentis is a pack hunter who inhabits dark areas and caves where he uses his bioluminescence in his body to walk in dark areas and to scare nameless and other creatures that do not like light when the Sinocalliopteryx provokes a strong bioluminescence in his body to scare his enemies and he has great night vision that serves to seek and stalk well to its prey and like the Troodon, its eyes can glow which some tribes see it in the darkness of Aberration with its bioluminescent skin, which the Sinocalliopteryx is described by many tribes as a large Compy because of its shape and Troodon when hunting and he goes crazy at night and it has sharp claws to kill its prey and enemies a lot. Domesticated: The Sinocalliopteryx is widely used by many tribes for very import uses. it is used to hunt an enemy human with up to 50% blood in its inventory and it can track Nameless Venom and it also has the ability to take out Lampreys and Leeches on the skin of dinosaurs and humans with its jaw and then collect the blood of leech, with its bioluminescence, tribes can go to caves and dark places to see and explore and with the strong bioluminescence it can scare Nameless and other dangerous Creatures that don't like light and is also very active at night, therefore with his strength from alone and in a pack he can kill Creatures and in a pack he can kill Creatures and in a pack he can increase incredible and powerful damage, capable of killing a Reaper King and a Rock Drake. ¿How to tame? The tame is passive, it tames just like a Carcharodontosaurus but with a camouflagee suit, you have to give it a dead or killed Dinosaur to give it one very carefully and even in 10 minutes, it is tamed. Appareance: I want the appearance to be like a big Compy a bit small like the Troodon with Bioluminescence on his body and glowing eyes when in dark places.- 3 replies

superior rex Imperator - The Titan Rex and Giga Superior
Gecko1611 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The rexes in ARK have been shunned by the far larger and superior Giganotosaurus. But in reality, Tyrannosaurus, although slightly smaller, was a far more advanced and powerful predator. With this new species, Tyrannosaurus gets the respect it deserves... IMPERATOR Species: Tyrannosaurus imperator Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggresive Wild This larger relative of the Rex is one of the ARK's most dangerous predators. They can overpower even a giga, which I thought at first to be the top predator here. And they hunt in prides, tripling the danger. In group they have even been known to hunt and kill Saltasaurus. The key to these giants' success is evidently their advanced skulls. Domesticated Being the ultimate war beast, Imperators require the same basic principles to tame but the pride factor adds to the difficulty. The jaws of these theropods are insanely strong, being able to crush metal and the bones of its victims. They also have powerful senses of smell and sight, allowing them to detect enemies easily. The tyrannosaurs have a pack instinct, and when in groups can get boosts to their prowess. Many call it a "Titan Rex", but I see "Imperator" as a more appropriate name. I'm smarter and I'm the one writing these dossiers, so I decide, at least this time. --- The Imperator will spawn in groups of up to 3. Spawns in around mountains, snow, and other highly dangerous areas. They can damage metal and all lower tiers. They also gain sniff and pack bonus abilities similar to the dire wolf. They require the standard knock out method of taming, and eat the same as a giga. Their stats are similar to a giga's, but slightly lowered in everything but melee. Predator senses: can be toggled on to give vision like that of a TEK Helmet. Crushing bite: Takes about 8 seconds to preforms and has a very small AOE. Deals high damage and inflicts a broken-bone effect, which works like an Injury and a Bleed. If it hits a creature with a drag weight of 300 kgs or less, it will deals just enough damage to cause a real injured effect (unless more damage would be dealt otherwise). 30 sec cooldown. Roar: This ability causes all enemies within range to have a 80% chance of being frightened. This condition causes their attacks to be twice as slow and, for characters, a blurred vision like beer causes. Size of the creature does not matter.
