Introducing Coelophysis, Pet Assassin and Mutation Booster! Tags: Mutation Booster, Unique Colors, Assassin, Pathing, Protective Pet Introduction: The foundational ideas and roles of this creature are: Mutation Booster: Ability to boost mutation rates of nearby creatures Granting unique, vibrant, (perhaps even glowy ) colors to creatures mutated by Coelophysis Stealthy Assassin: Able to use ASA pathing to find its way through bases to get to a target Being able to pass by turrets, alarms and creatures Has a special armor that allows them to be remotely controlled by a player Ability to largely ignore a players armor when attacking them, by constricting them Protective Pet: Immunity to torpor, radiation and other effects Protective tail scarf against toxins, gas and environment when on your shoulder Dossier: Common Name: Coelo Species: Coelophysis medens Time: Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: Coelophysis medens is a little scoundrel hiding behind a cute appearance. This clever opportunist always goes after the weakest target possible, and when they act in groups, they dare target bigger prey - as long as it's weak and vulnerable. When a creature is small enough, Coelophysis has a unique way to kill it: it wraps its thick, tail around its victim's neck and strangles it, after sneaking behind the target. Moreover, killing one can be tricky, due to its ability to regrow lost tissues like a lizard. Could it be any more mischievous? Domesticated: As annoying as they are in the wild, Coelophysis turn into smart, versatile helpers, once tamed. First of all, they're small and stealthy, which means they can be taught to sneak into bases and strangle enemy survivors with their tail. Maybe they could even hide explosives while everyone's looking away! Also, that tail makes quite the pretty scarf, an effective cover from poison gas and hazardous environments. But a tamed Coelophysis' true value lies in its healing properties. I'm still not sure how they do it, but whatever allows them to regenerate so fast speeds up your own healing as well. Additionally, it seems to alter the genetic makeup of unborn baby creatures, causing their pigments to mutate. Wild: Wild Coelophysis are very elusive, and normally avoid risk, running away from larger creatures. Watch out, they are very fast and hard to spot after they run away! Other wild creatures also almost never attack them, unless Coelophysis attacks them first. When a player approaches them though, they will attempt to jump onto the players neck, constricting them and damaging them. You will have to move erratically to shake them off. Coelophysis spawn in the Crater Forest. They are quite rare (similar to Basilisk), and may spawn in groups of 2-4. Taming Process: Coelophysis requires you to prove your worth in a tame, and show you are a valuable companion to it, in contrary to the regular torpor taming method, as Coelophysis is immune to it. To do this, you will have to knock out large WILD creatures to the point that Coelo can kill it. The more health the creature has, the more taming this would provide. Tamed Abilities: Mutation Booster: Boosting Cells: Coelophysis has evolved to use element to boost the mutation rate of offspring. This will boost the mutation rate of nearby creatures depending on the oxygen stat of the Coelophysis. A certain stat mutation can be boosted slightly further by the player, so that you won't have to sift through as many creatures. Unique Colors: These special mutations can also give some rare, unique, vibrant colors to creatures that are only possible through mutating with Coelophysis. Some of these colors may even glow Stealthy Assassin: Undetectable: Coelophysis is largely undetectable to many threats, like wild creatures, tamed creatures set to aggressive, traps and alarms, turrets and Parasaur alarms. Assassin: Using new ASA creature pathfinding, the Coelophysis can find its way through structures, builds and terrain to find a nearby player. It can even hop on the backs of creatures to attack a player. When it reaches a player, it will start attacking them with its special Constricting Tail. Constricting Tail: When attacking players, Coelophysis can jump on their necks and constrict a player. This will drain their health directly, and will be only minimally effected by armor, allowing the Coelophysis to kill even heavily armored players that do not see it coming. Remote Control Armor: The player can equip Flak, Riot and Tek armor to Coelophysis to boost their armor. A camera can be attached to the Riot and Tek variants of this special Coelophysis armor, allowing them to be controlled remotely. The Tek form of this armor also allows them to temporarily stun players they jump onto, and disable any nearby electronics for a limited time, similar to a Scorched Earth electrical storm. Protective Pet: Protective Scarf: When on a players shoulder, the tail of the Coelophysis acts like a gas mask, protecting you from the environment and toxins, like those of Cnidarias stings, Arthropleuras acid and Araneos webs. Healing Beacon: On your shoulder, Coelophysis provides you with an increased healing speed, and is able to passively give you a healing burst when it notices you are low on health. Immunity: Coelophysis is fully immune to radiation, torpor and other toxins/poisons (like spores and jellyfish stuns). Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Coelophysis is incredibly useful in the mutating of creatures, as it can provide a boost to the mutation rate of creatures. We all know how frustrating it can be to take extremely long waiting for a new mutation to pop out, and Coelophysis will provide a bit of help in that process. Besides the boosted rates, Coelophysis can also cause mutations with more vibrant colors, fully unique to any creatures of the ARK, providing you with very special and personalized creatures. In caves, Coelophysis will provide a lot of help, as they can protect like a gas mask would, and protect you from harmful effects like that of the acid of the wild Arthropleura, the webs of Araneos and the rabies given by pesky Onycs. Not only this, but it can also provide a burst of quick healing when you are on low health, saving you some of your precious medical brews. PvP: Coelophysis provides a whole new aspect to a PvP fight. Although they are not incredibly powerful brawlers, they can sneak past most defenses of bases, allowing them to still deal valuable damage to enemies. They are completely undetectable to turrets and parasaurs, and can sneak past aggressive tamed creatures if done carefully. It can be remotely controlled for valuable information, without being automatically gunned down. Once inside a base, it can easily kill an unprepared player, and can even kill them through very powerful armor. This makes them very valuable assets in raids and can even find a use in defending a base, using Coelophysis to jump unprepared players on creatures. Conclusion: Coelophysis would be a refreshing and interesting addition to ARKs creature roster, allowing for new strategies in PvP, granting much quality of life in PvE and PvP, and gives more unique customisation to your most cherished creatures, in the form of new and exciting colors. Have fun, survivors! Introducing Coelophysis, Pet Assassin and Mutation Booster! Tags: Mutation Booster, Unique Colors, Assassin, Pathing, Protective Pet, Shoulder Healer Disclaimer: This dossier is not fully completed, as you can see by the empty space. I will update this later. Introduction: The foundational ideas, selling points and roles of these creatures are: Mutation Booster: Ability to boost mutation rates of nearby creatures Granting unique, vibrant, (perhaps even glowy ) colors to creatures mutated by Coelophysis Stealthy Assassin: Able to use ASA pathing to find its way through bases to get to a target Being able to pass by turrets, alarms and creatures (keep in mind it is Dilo size) Has a special armor that allows them to be remotely controlled by a player Ability to largely ignore a players armor when attacking them, by constricting them Protective Pet: Immunity to torpor, radiation and other effects Can heal the player when it is on your shoulder Protective tail scarf against toxins, gas and environment when on your shoulder Dossier: Common Name: Coelo Species: Coelophysis medens Time: Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Opportunistic Wild: Coelophysis medens is a little scoundrel hiding behind a cute appearance. Anqingosaurus - Your Friendly Neighborhood Tongue-Swinger.
Beamstalk44 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Anqingosaurus Brevicephalus was one of the oldest known chameleons. While I did take liberties from other creatures(such as Drepanosaurus, and Jackson's Chameleon) I really liked the named Anqingosaurus(my assumed pronunciation is “An-king-go-saurus") Anqingosaurus will be the 5th shoulder-pet on Aberration however, it will not function like the other 4 as it will not be a glow-pet. It will have bioluminescence, but will function more like the aberrant variant creatures. If it wins it will also be the only shoulder-pet that has won a creature vote(I'm not including Sinomacrops since it technically got disqualified) The purpose of the Anqingo is to essentially turn you into spider-man but also has some extra perks, including increasing mutation percentages! I'm aware that the bloodstalker exists. However, I always felt that, while it was fun, I wanted to be able to be on the ground while utilizing a tech like this, I wanted it to feel more personal. It will work as the creature variant of the Grappling Hook, Whip, HL-NA, as well as being an upgraded ghillie suit/personal rock drake(which will act as a slight parasaur counter). However, while I do want it to stand out I do not want it to overshadow some of these items. It is also going to be an endgame creature so utilizing the grappling hook and whip early-mid game would still be somewhat essential. Location: Anqingo would spawn in the Bioluminescent Region, more specifically the Luminous Marshlands. You will find it on trees. It will be a rare spawn and very hard to find due to its camouflage. Taming: It is a passive tame and you need to approach it slowly with a rock drake, shadowmane, desmodus, or have another anqingo. After approaching the creature while invisible, it will notice you and a slight mini game will start, during this process it will change to one of 3 colors. Green, Blue, and Red. When it turns to one of these 3 colors you will need to hop off your mount and approach it slowly to give it one of the 3 gems, respective to the color it turns. Once tamed you can pick it up and it will cling to your arm. While clinged to you it will embed the hook on the end of its tail into your neck. This will link your nervous system to the Anqingo, much like a Bloodstalker. Controls : (Note: the Anqingo will function as a "weapon", meaning when swapped to an item you will not be able to utilize the Anqingos abilities) R/Square/X: cycles through the "modes" of the Anqingo. Indicated by the Anqingo changing to 1 of the 3 colors. Left Ctrl/R1/RB: Melee. Using the 3 horns of the Anqingo you will stab a target, causing a minor bleed effect. (Note: This can be done with any mode) Green(Camouflage/Stat reader mode): M1/R2/RT: Stat reader. This will work just like HL-NA. M2/L2/LT: Camouflage While you are not moving - you will be invisible, this will function like a rock drake, not a shadowmane, you will still have a silhouette. During this effect you are immune to "tracking" abilities, such as the parasaurs alarm mode(note: you can still be spotted by the scan, you are only immune to the passive) While moving - you are no longer invisible but it will reduce the aggro range of other creatures, similar to a ghillie suit(effects do not stack). Blue(movement mode): M1/R2/RT: The Anqingo will grab onto a surface you are looking at with its tongue. Using movement while latched will swing you in that direction, similar to bloodstalker. (While latched)Holding M1/R2/RT: Will rapidly send you towards that surface. (Note: it has a farther reach than grappling hooks, but a shorter reach than bloodstalkers) (While latched)Space/X/A or X/R3/RS: Unlatches (While latched)M2/L2/LT: unreels M2/L2/LT: Aims Red(Attack mode): M1/R2/RT: this will act as a whip, grabbing items, unbounding bolas, causing flyers to drop you. M2/L2/LT: this will grab smaller creatures and hold them in place(does not work on survivors). Once a creature is grabbed you can reel them in or out with a primary/secondary button respectively. If you use this on titanomyrma, meganeura, or insect swarms it will automatically reel them in and eat them. These same bugs will also be highlighted. Lastly, if you approach a creature and hold Left Ctrl/Square/X: you can attach the Anqingo to this creature. This will double the mutation chances of that creature's offspring. Thank you for your consideration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anqingosaurus https://animalia.bio/anqingosaurus-brevicephalus (Drepanosaurus) (Jackson’s Chameleon)- 6 replies

mutation booster Introducing Neovenator, The Bloodthirsty Buffer
YanDinoGamer posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Introducing Neovenator, the bloodthirsty buffer Common name: Neovenator Species: Neovenator Draconis Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: "I've seen many creatures in this cave, but one in particular catches my attention, the Neovenator is proof that living in the deepest areas of this place is not easy, but apparently this theropod has learned to live in this place, even having to compete with Nameless and Reapers, but what draws attention is the remarkable relationship he has with the Rock Drakes. Somehow these two seem to have a strange symbiotic relationship where the Neovenators can coexist with the Rock Drakes in their territory, I believe that this relationship has arose out of the rivalry they both have with the Reapers. During my expeditions to the deepest areas of this cave I had a frightening vision of a Neovenator in bloodlust, they seem to be like that as soon as they kill a creature and when in that state they attack everything around them incessantly. " Domesticated: "At first I thought taming a Neovenator was an impossible feat, but I realized I was wrong about that after seeing some tribes with a Neovenator leading their group of Rock Drakes, the knights told me that these theropods seem to love the pheromone glands of the Reaper, as soon as they discovered this, began to use these glands to tame them. A domestic Neovenator looks like a combination of the strength of a Megalosaurus with the ability to encourage its allies with its roar like a Yutyrannus, but if that weren't enough, hatchlings born and raised near a Neovenator show abnormal characteristics as adults, apparently living in a zone Radioactivity caused the Neovenator to absorb some of the radiation, causing the descendants who were born near it to undergo some genetic alteration, which some tribes used in their favor to create even stronger creatures than normal. " Introduction: Hello survivors, all quiet? I hope so, I present to you the Bloodthirsty Buffer, The Neovenator Draconis (Draconis is a fictional name I gave to this fictional species of the Aberration)! The Neovenator is a medium theropod the size of a Rock Drake, it will not only be focused on dealing damage but will also play the role of a bloodthirsty buffer with a roar that grants a regeneration buff and increases damage to allied creatures, and if it is in the bloodlust state, the buffs will have their effects doubled. Well, I know that "big" theropods that deal high damage are generic, but in the case of Aberration vannila, one thing that is missing is options for strong creatures to face the Boss, we have only 4 options: Spinosaurus, Megalosaurus, Reaper and Rock Drakes , not to mention that this is the only map we don't have any damage buffer like Yutyrannus or health regeneration like Daeodon, so a relatively strong buffer to use on the Boss would be something useful. Wild: In the wild, Neovenator will be found in the Tomb of the Lost walking with the wild Rock Drakes and will only attack if you get too close to him or provoke him, when that happens he will roar before attacking you causing all nearby Rock Drakes to concentrate. whether to kill you. Taming process: To tame a Neovenator we have 2 methods: Hijack a hatchling or an egg when its parents aren't around, but be careful because, thanks to Neovenator's relationship with the Rock Drakes, it won't just be the parents that will chase it...... Passive Taming: You will need to approach an adult Neovenator with Nameless Venom in your inventory and Reaper Pheromone Glands in the last slot of your inventory, when close enough the Neovenator will smell the gland and when that happens you must throw the gland on the ground to If he eats it, just be careful not to consume the gland because otherwise he'll think you're a Reaper and they hate Reapers. As soon as the Neovenator starts eating the gland you must be quick and climb on its back, as soon as it climbs on its back you must make it collide against the walls and then feed it with the Nameless poison so that it recovers from the blow , but keep in mind that when you climb on him he will try to knock you down at all costs, after a few collisions he will obey your command and be tamed. Tamed: After being tamed, Neovenators can perform some functions, but they are not only useful in combat, due to the radiation it has in its body, puppies that are born close to a Neovenator have a high chance of being born with mutations, in combat the Neovenator is capable of incite your teammates with your roar, giving them bonus damage and reducing damage taken by enemies Actions: Primary Attack (Left Click): Bite, causes a speed debuff Secondary Attack (Right Click): Throws radioactive feathers, if hit they cause debuff reducing damage and speed of the target. (By pressing the right button) The spinning tail shoots feathers in an area. Roar (click C): Roar: Grants bonus damage and damage reduction to allies. Jump (press space): A simple jump, if used while running, Neovenator will propel himself forward. Passive Skills: • Bloodthirsty Mode: Activates when devouring a dead creature, Neovenator will gain a buff where he will gain an increase in health and regeneration speed by 15% for 60 seconds, and the buff is reset whenever he devours a creature. • Increased chance of mutations: hatchlings that are born near a Neovenator have a high chance of being born with a mutation (to activate this, it would be necessary to let the Neovenator move freely near the hatchlings). • Ally bonuses: Neovenator will receive a bonus that increases damage dealt by 10% and decreases damage taken by 10% for each Rock Drake that is near him (limit 3). • Passive Debuff: Creatures that attack him directly suffer the consequences of being poisoned by the radiation in the Neovenator's body, having their resistance quickly drained and their numb increased. Utility and Scenarios: PvE : In this scenario, Neovenator's main function is to be a Buffer, something we don't have on this map, regardless of whether it's in combat against alpha creatures or against Boss Rockwell, for this reason Neovenator can be useful on this map, in addition it can serve as an aid in the taming of creatures since, thanks to the debuff it causes when being attacked, it can make creatures inconsistent just by letting them attack you or make creatures slow with their bite, facilitating the pursuit and the hit of arrow shots or sedative darts. PvP : Maybe not even so useful in PvE on the other hand maybe in PvP is where this creature shines, capable of increasing the damage of allied creatures, has passive skills to strengthen or cause debuffs on enemies, in addition to being great for base protection even more so if you have Rock Drakes with him to make him gain the ally bonuses. Conclusion: Despite being a generic creature so to speak, being a large carnivorous theropod made for "combat", the Neovenator can be a very useful and relevant addition to Aberration, as it is a map with few viable options of creatures to use in the final Boss and the practically non-existent existence of buffers like Yutyrannus and Daeodon, in addition to having skills that make it have other uses. Credits to my brother @Joaoo_2s_Art for the Neovenator concept art Feel free to make suggestions and I'll read as many comments as possible.
