  1. Sinomegaceros pachyosterus 1. Artwork : Art by Emily Stepp, who did an awesome job with this creature! You can see at the bottom the colors and affect of the different mushroom antlers (sorry for the quality, i can't upload pictures with better resolution, but i have the file, if anyone is interrested to see, just ask ) 2. Dossier Text : Common Name: Sinomegaceros Species : Sinomegaceros pachyosterus Time : Pleistocene Diet : Herbivorous Temperament: Neutral (become aggressive when you’re near their fawns) Wild : This majestic deer like creature, relative to the Megaloceros, its truly quite a sight! Their huge shield-like antlers are really setting them apart. But even with their unique antler, it's not what makes them truly special. Sinomegaceros, like deers like to use hallucinogenic mushrooms, but on the Aberration Ark, with the presence of mutagenic molten element, something wonderful (or horrifying happened): They adapted and developed a symbiosis with mushrooms, and consuming one, trigger dormant mutation allowing them to change and use spores of different species of mushrooms, which are at their fullest potential within the Sinomegaceros body. Domesticated: Sinomegaceros is a really useful creature to venture around the Aberration Ark, with several temporary forms induced with different mushrooms and spores. Some forms can get you across molten element region without harm, fend off Reapers and Nameless with charge light, across water, or even turn into an ethereal spore form. Additionally they can protect you from various ill effects from creatures, even heal you. With that they also seem to have developed powerful ways to damage their foes. They are as magnificent as they are creepy, if you really think about it. 3. Taming : To tame a Sinomegaceros, you must feed mushroom brew regularly to a Sinomegaceros fawn to help it grow spores inside its body. The adults will attack you, you have to pacify them with Pachyrhinosaurus, or immobilizing them (net projectiles, bolas, resine from rhyniognatha, freezing with the owl,...), stun them, or tranq them. When taming is at 50%, adults will start to eat a mushroom to turn into one of the mushroom induced forms. At that point, you have to trap them with bear traps, and continue feeding the fawn with mushroom brew. 4. Abilities : All forms are really good climbers like goats and can jump pretty high. They’re immune to all negative effects of spores, Reaper queen “spores”, and poison. Forms are triggered by eating a mushroom, they are temporary. Regular form: Left Click: Front/back kick depending on where you’re looking. Right Click: Headbutt with its horns, hold to charge creatures in front of you. Male: Bellow: Herd boost for Sinomegaceros and reduce other Sinomegaceros cooldown. Negate pack boost from enemies. Female: Increase speed, attack speed. X: Shield Antlers. Lower the antlers to reduce damage. Give resistance to nearby allies and “shield” from some effects like fear. Bioluminescent form (Auric mushroom): Left Click: Front/back kick depending on where you’re looking. Right Click: Headbutt. Hold to emit a charged lightning bolt from antlers that does additional damages to Reaper, seekers, Nameless, Desmodus, Megalosaurus. Male: Bellow: Increase its own attack speed, and increase the melee damage, lower stamina consumption and decrease the cooldown of allies nearby Female: Shield Antlers. Lower the Antlers to greatly reduce damage coming from the front. Give resistance to nearby allies and “shield” from some effects like fear. X: Flash of light that blind enemies and reveals invisible creatures, stopping them from turning invisible again. Passive: its horns can emit charged light like glow pets. Can charge batteries in their inventory, but increase hunger. Radioactive form (Element branched mushroom spores): Left Click: Front/back kick depending on where you’re looking. Right Click: Headbutt. Hold to trigger an explosive radioactive blast from its antlers Bellow: Increase its own attack speed, and increase the melee damage, lower stamina consumption and decrease the cooldown of allies nearby. Female: Shield Antlers. Lower the Antlers to greatly reduce damage coming from the front. Give resistance to nearby allies and “shield” from some effects like fear. X: Emit a powerful wave of radiation that inflict a more powerful radiation sickness that does more damage, reduce health regeneration, and increase damage from other sources. Additional damages to TEK creatures and affected creatures can’t use teleportation abilities far a time. Passive: The Sinomegaceros and its rider are completely immune to radiation. Infectious form (Rare Mushroom): Left Click: Front/back kick depending on where you’re looking. Right Click: Headbutt. Hold to trigger an infectious headbutt. The target is plagued with spores that drain its health to heal the Sinomegaceros. Symbiotic form (Ascorbic mushroom): Left Click: Front/back kick depending on where you’re looking. Right Click: Headbutt. Hold to target an ally and establish a symbiotic link. Allow to share positive status (even status triggered by abilities), boost both the target and the Sinomegaceros, and remove negative status for the duration, distance doesn’t matter for the link to work. X: Turn into a cloud of spores to travel free of constraints, if you target a creature, you can temporarily possess it. Passive: Jump surrounded by spores, hold to float/glide down, doesn’t take any fall damage. You can make fertilizer (with feces and spoiled meat) and refertilizer from its inventory. High-tened form (Hallucinogenic spores): Left Click: Front/back kick depending on where you’re looking. Right Click: Headbutt. Hold to trigger an hallucination that forces creatures to attack a target for a short duration. Male: Bellow: Increase its own attack speed, and increase the melee damage, lower stamina consumption and decrease the cooldown of allies nearby Female: Shield Antlers. The double will roam around if you target the environment or flee if you’re attacked, or attack if you target a creature. Passive: Heighten the senses of the Sinomegaceros to see nearby creatures even through obstacles. 5. Miscellanous : Spawn in the Fertile region. They eat berries in normal form and spoiled meat in mushroom form. Using mushrooms could have effects on the Sinomegaceros, like an addiction/withdrawal, that have different effects depending on if you use the same mushroom or not, for example. Passively gather “spores” while going through mushrooms. You can gather spore clusters from the 5 existing mushroom items or from the three spores hazards in Aberration. You can use several of them to cultivate mushrooms (it's the only way to gather them). Or to craft spore grenades in the Sinomegaceros inventory, that have different effects depending on which kind of spore you’re using. - Like Auric mushroom spore grenade produce a charge light spore cloud that remains for a certain time, lighting the place and doing damage to nocturnal creatures/Reapers and Nameless and blind enemies. -Element branched mushroom spore grenade produce a radioactive cloud of mushroom that remain for a time, doing a few damage, and slowing health regeneration. -Rare mushroom spore grenade produce a toxic cloud of spores that plague enemies, does damage, and lower the damage they make. -Ascorbic mushroom spore grenade heal and remove some negative status effects. -Freezing mushroom spore grenade create a cloud of spores that can freeze. -Aquatic mushroom spore grenade can create a mist of spores that can extinguish fire based attacks, improve lightning and ice attacks and trigger hydration bonus. -The hallucinogenic spore grenade turns wild creatures against each other for a limited time. -The aggevaric spore grenade make you and your tames faster, jump higher, glide when you fall, and remove fall damage. -Each spore type gives a different spore grenade. Each type of spore give a specific mushroom type that you can cultivate. All mushroom give fungal wood, fungal leather (a new resource that can replace hide and fiber), spores of the given mushroom, and different mushroom slime depending on which kind of mushroom you cultivate: -Auric mushroom slime is like angler gel, but can be put on a torch, in campfires and can be dyed to emit a specific color. You can also apply it to tames or players to emit charge light for a time. -Element branched mushroom slime can protect the players and tames from radiation for a time. -Freezing mushroom slime can protect the player and tames from heat and lava for a time. When put into a campfire or on a torch, produce frostfire that can cool down around it. -Aquatic mushroom slime protect from fire and allow to breath water for a time (and give hydration bonus) -Rare mushroom slime can protect players and tames from poison, diseases, “vampiric effects” and spores for a time. -Ascorbic mushroom slime can be used to stop resources from spoiling for a time, and increase health regeneration when applied to the player or a tame and some negative status like bleeding are removed faster. -Aggevaric mushroom slime protects from torpor, can be used as refertilizer, and when applied to a player or tames turn you into spores when “running” allowing you to move free of gravity. -Hallucinogenic mushroom slime protects from fear, mind-control, stun, mammoth roar,... Sinomegaceros, when in a mushroom induced form, can also secrete mushroom slime of the given type by going into the radial menu of the creature, but by doing so, your creature will consume more food. In their regular forms, they looks like deer with unique shield-like antlers, that looks a little like mushrooms. When in a mushroom induced form, their antlers turn into bioluminescent mushrooms each form with its own color and visual effect. Males have mushrooms on their neck and some on their body, while females have glowing patterns on their body. -Bioluminescent form: Golden antlers, with some spores and rays of light effect around the antlers. Golden mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body -Radioactive form: Purple antlers, with some spores and “heat distortion” effect around the antlers. Purple mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. -Infectious form: Light red antlers, with a lot of spore clouds that seem “heavy” and drip like blood around the antlers. Red mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. -Soaked form: Blue antlers, with a dripping effect and mist from the antlers. Blue mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. -Chilling form: White/Really light blue antlers, with some spores and frost effect around the antlers. White/really light blue mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. -Symbiotic form: Green antlers, with a lot of spore clouds in a halo around the antlers. Green mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. -Sporulating form: Orange antlers, with spore clouds all around the body. Orange mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. -Hightened form: Light pink antlers, with some spores and waves of rainbow effect around the antlers. Light pink mushrooms/bioluminecent patterns on the body. While “force feeding” a mushroom can change the Sinomegaceros in a mushroom induced form, giving another mushroom of another type change its form, and force feeding a rare flower turns it back into its regular form. Of course the forms being temporary you can also just wait for it to turn back into its regular form. Every form has its own mushroom antlers forms and bioluminescent patterns on their body. The idea for that creature was that I wanted something able to use mushrooms for different effects. Plus I wanted a charge light creature that resembled a “grown up” version of a Shinehorn. So I looked for animals that used mushrooms, I found deers can eat hallucinogenic mushrooms, it was right in the theme. Plus by looking into prehistoric deers I found out of the Sinomegaceros, a not really known creature, that have antlers...That kind of look like mushrooms! That was perfect! Then I remembered Sawsbuck, a Pokemon that I love, and bloom deers, a creature for a game that still hasn't been released: Everwild. Overall, it seems like a PERFECT match for the Aberration. Though there are many,many things for that creature, I wish that there was spores/mushrooms for two additional forms (scorching and shocking). If this creature doesn't make it this time, i plan on changing the artwork and add another type of variant dufferent from mushrooms. If you have any suggestions feel free to leave it ;-).
  2. The Olm The olm is a real world amohibian that has been around for thousands of years. This creature is also known as the cave salamander. They are blind and spend almost all their time in the water. They get around by sensing the electromagnetic frequencies around them they are a small amphibian only getting to around 8 inches long but they are certainly one of the most unique creatures in the world. How would they fit into Aberation? The olm in reality lives in caves and has developed its senses for this environment. It has no eyes and can sense even the slightest vibrations. There are several useful applications for this creature in the ARK. [ ] In a PVP setting, this amphibian could be able to locate and genorators and power them off from a distance. [ ] The Olm has a very fast regenerative ability that it can share with survivors and other tames. [ ] The Olm can locate creatures in a vicinity through walls and be able to locate them on your mini map, it can also give you the levels of dinos from a distance. [ ] The olm can also tell you if you have entered a dangerous area with large carnivores around [ ] This Amphibian would be scaled up so it could be rideable, when you ride this creature it could have the ability to spray a goo onto a target and slow them down or stick them in place depending on the size. [ ] The Olm is able to warn you before an earthquake happens (similarly to a jerboa). [ ] The Olm can use its slime coating to coat other survivors and allow them to breath underwater for a certain amount of time. Taming. Taming this amphibian would be a complicated endeavor. The olm is a passive tame that is reactive to your movements. Approaching the olm too quickly may scare this skittish creature off or cause it to fight back. If the olm chooses to run then do not chase it, you will cause it to attack. If the olm fights back then run away as fast as you can, if the olm sprays you with its goo, you will be stuck in place and be in danger of being eaten by another dino. Approaching any wild olms slowly is the best choice. The taming food of choice is chitin. Domestication. When these amphibians are domesticated you can ride them on land and in the water. In the water the Olm moves across the bottom of the water and can help you collect resources. On land the Olm is a slippery thing, it can move fast from place to place and can move by either slithering fast from place to place or by using its two front legs to drag its long slender body along. The Olm is breedable, though, it needs to be in the water in order to breed, if not provided with water it will not produce eggs. The eggs need water to hatch and incubate for a very short amount of time. They can produce eggs quickly and will somtimes lay more than one. Habitat. You can find this amphibian in bodies of water. They are often surrounded by large carnivores but remain unharmed. If any creature attempts to attack, the Olm will not hesitate to "goo" the predator. The Olm rarely ventures out of water. Finding the olm is not an easy thing to do. They don't show themselves as often as you would think. They prefer to stay hidden and traditionally can't be found around other Olms. Size. The Olm is larger than a titanaboa but smaller than a basilisk. They allow survivors to ride on their back with a special saddle. This saddle needs to be able to hold moisture to stop the olm from drying up. The saddle is infused with absorbent substrate. This substrate allows the olm to stay out of water indefinitely and survive. Attacks Whip- whip the target with its long body Spray- Spray a goo onto the target that sticks them in place Spin attack- only in water it can spin and knock enimies back Locate- allows them to locate enemies nearby. Suction- underwater it can suck in multiple small nuisance creatures and damage them without being damaged. Dossier- I'm not the best of artists and I don't have access to any digital drawing service so if somone would like to submit a dossier and some drawing that would help a ton and hopefully get this creature into the game (I will credit anyone who makes one that I use) The Olm is a creature I am not too familiar with. They weren't an aussie native but sure as hell could have been with their alien appearance! Back on earth they would be found in caves. They where never to big from what I remember, but it seems that somone modified them to grow to a bigger size! I had seen only a handful of these creature while on this ark and none of them seem to let me approach. So Coming face to face with the Olm for the first time was an exciting experience, it wouldn't let me approach without running off so I had no other choice but to wait. Scaring off this creature was not somthing I wanted to do seeing how rare it is, but after I approached it seemed to sense the chitin I had in my pocket and tried ro take it out! I ended up giving the Olm the chitin and it warmed up to me quickly, nothing seemed to want to mess with the Olm, even the Spinos! This is certainly one of the most unique creatures on this broken ark. Conclusion. I feel the Olm would be a great addition to ark seeing as we only have to amphibians so far! They are such unique creatures that I feel would fit the twisted world of Aberration. The Olm is an endangered species that I feel deserves more so this could really raise awareness for the species and possibly help this species do better.   3. Dossior Description Wild Rhinesuchus is the largest Amphibian I Have ever seen; however, in a place like this, it's wondering how this animal survives in this environment astonishes me. This unique animal adaptation causes it to convert itself from a cocoon similar to a lungfish and go into a hibernation state. The cocoon seems to have plentiful resources such as black pearls, biotoxin, and cementing paste. After closer examination, I have discovered that Rhinesuchus constantly secretes liquid from its body, causing the dry ground around it to turn into mud to cool it down. When water is scarce, it uses its mucus to moisten the soil to make it is swimming in the ground at astonishing speeds. It moves at such speeds that I have witnessed it ambush a raptor and be dragged down to the ground, drowning it in the process. Rhinesuchos has been observed to swing mud with its tail at potential prey and predators. The mucus of this massive amphibian laced with dirt seems to create a type of poison that causes a state of paralysis to go unconscious and later causes death to the victim. Domesticated To tame this monster, you must drag it out of the water and wait until it gets dehydrated. Then you must use a cold tek canteen, pour water on its body, and give it some fish or black pearls. You got yourself a Rhinosuchos. Rhinesuchus can be used to convert the chitin in its inventory to black pearls when tamed. This creature's mucus can also be used as a substitute for a biotoxin. Rhinesuchus can also be trained to create mud craters with its body, causing any potential enemy towards the crater to sink to its demise. The mud also can heal allied creatures as it rejuvenates them Description So when coming up with this creature, I realized that scorched earth lacks oceanic resources like Biotoxin and Black pearls. You can only get by killing Death Worms. Also, we lack amphibian species as we only have the beezlebufo and the Diplocalus, so it would be cool If we had another amphibian in the game that is viable for scorch earth and possibly when transferring to other maps. Regular spawns So in the wild, Rhinesuchus will be a neutral creature that can span all over the map; however, the way it spawns is unique. In areas of water, the creature will spawn like any other creature; its temperament will be similar to a dire bear as they don't attack unless you get too close to the water, but if further away from the water, it will only attack if provoked. Cocoon spawns But when they spawn away from water, they spawn inside a giant mud cocoon instead of being a wandering animal. This spawn method is similar to giant bees as they only leave the cocoon when it is destroyed. I got this idea from the 3rd Walking with Monsters episode, as the Rhinesuchus had cocooned itself in extreme conditions. However, suppose you decide not to destroy the cocoon. In that case, you can open the inventory of the cocoon like a beaver damn as the cocoon contain resources such as cementing paste, black pearls, and a new resource, Rhinesuchus mucus, which can be used as a substitute for BioToxin. Wild behavior. When provoked, the rhinesuchus will attack anything; however, this creature will target invertebrates over anything. Wild rhinesuchas can grab creatures and swim in the soil as the mucus on their body turns the sand around them to mu,d giving them the ability to swim in the ground. When the ground is swimming, they can drag creatures the size of a saber tooth maximum with their jaws and bury their prey to death. It can also, through the mud at enemies, causes a debuff called toxic paralysis which causes the enemy to freeze solid, drains health, and raise torpor. If you attack rhinesuchas, you will take a type of thorn damage that increases torpor called The touch of death. How to tame To tame this creature, you must first keep them out of the water and surround them with heat to dry them out. Fire can work, but it's at risk of killing it. But you could also scorch earth heat wave weather event can dry them out naturally without hurting it. After it's dried out, use A Cold tek canteen to put it in its rehydrating state. When it's rehydrating you can feed it Exsiptional Kibble, Biotoxin/mucus Black pearls, or Raw fish meat. Then, after all that, its tamed Once Tamed, What does it do, and how does it function Passive ability The rhinesuchas, once tamed, can do many things. It has Immunity to poison-based attacks, and It passively produces the Mucas in its inventory, so you can have a subsite for Biotoxin. When attacking insects, it can gather Black pearls from them as it converts the chitin to Black pearls. Attacks Left click is a Standard Bite. Right Click does the dragging bite that can be used to drag drown creatures up to a Sabor Tooth size and drown them. Space can make it jump out of the ground. Left click and space makes the launching bite attack, which does more damage and inflicts the toxic paralysis debuff. C Is an AOE attack that causes the rhinesuchas to swing its body around and use its tail to throw mud at enemies. CTRT Just moves the creature from standard ground mode to mud swimming mode Note: when in ground mode, its slower, and all it can do is a bite attack Note: I haven't designed it yet, but I will make a concept of the saddle resembling a jet ski mixed with a doom buggy. The Environmental Effects of scorched earth affect the Rhinesuchas I wanted this creature to be affected by scorched earth environment for its adaptable nature, but scorched earth weather can affect the rhinesuchas functionality. Thunder Storms: Thunderstorms do not affect the rhinesuchas Rain: Actually, give The rhinesuchas a buff called hydrated buff. This buff can only work during Rain and will NOT activate when entering the water. This buff provides faster HP regen and stamina, Increased damage, and increased Movement speed. Sand storms: It's immune to the sand storms' effects giving players the ability to travel through annoying sand storms instead of waiting them out Heatwave: When the rhinesuchas is in a heat wave, it will go into its dehydrated debuff causing, which causes it to take damage over time, similar to a baslio, and you will not be able to go into mud swimming mode as it completely dried out. Also, during a heat wave, the rhinesuchas will no longer be able to inflict its thorns damage. Weakness: The rhinesucas Is weak toward heat-based attacks, so fire from wyverns, Flamethrowers, Amagara, and Magmasaurs Will cause the dehydrated Debuff, but it will still be able to go to mud swimming mode but is significantly weeker when on fire. Combating The Dehydration debuff: You can get rid of the debuff by putting the rhinesuchas in water or using a cryopod. Other uses Muddy Sink Hole Trap: The rhinesucas can be used as a stationary sinkhole trap. It has different effects based on a creature's drag weight; small creatures will sink to instant death, medium creatures will be trapped in the sinkhole as the rhinesucas begins to attack and attempt to drag them down, and large creatures don't skink at all but can be slowed down by the sink hole. To break the sinkhole, explosives will work at getting destroying the sinkhole and getting the rhinesucas out. Blackpearl farm: Its a great black pearl form insects in a simler way to how a Beezlebufo can gather cementing paste from insects Note the heatwave Does not inflict Dehydration debuff when in this Sinkhole mode. When in Water The rhinesucas is also helpful in water, having some different abilities in water than on land. I wanted to show what this can do when transferred out of Scorch Earth. Left click: Standard bite Right Click: this is a lounging bite attack. 😄 The C attack activates a buff called rejuvenating mud: basically, this ability acts similar to a dadedon healing ability though it only works in water. It also Heals fully aquatic creatures quickly, while semiAqutics don't heal as quickly. As with more water, the mucus gains healing qualities. CTRT: CRTL activities the mud mist, which AOE attack of a cloud of muddy ink that does the same debuffs as the C attack on land Its also Immune to Jellyfish stings
