Ledumahadi acuti. Sap lover sumo grappler of the redwoods
texasturok posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
(Not my art, this amazing piece does not belong to me!) L. Acuti Herbivore/Omnivore Found in the redwoods Mildly aggressive Attacks and abilities Quadrupedal stance 1. claw swipe: a powerful lateral swipe similar to a bear. 2. Tail slam. Pound the tail downward for medium damage and minor knock back Bipedal stance 1. Claw swipe 2. Ground pound: hold the alt attack button for 3 seconds charging up a two fisted slam with the front limbs dealing high damage. Will move L. acuti from bipedal to quadrupedal stance with a 8 second cool down. This attack will increase in power the more weight the dino has in its inventory. 2x damage for being 90% max weight or +10% per 100lbs past 75% max weight 3. Grapple: hold alt hotbar button and press attack to grab and slowly walk backwards anything of equal drag weight or less, with less than 75% L. Acuti's max weight in its inventory. This would apply to dinos yuti paracer diplo or amarga sized. Smaller dinos would be picked up 4. Toss: while grappling another dino that has less that 50% L acuti's max weight, hold alt attack button for 3 seconds to toss the target dino the direction the grappling dino is facing dealing 20% L acuti's max Melee damage for collision with the terrain or structure. Toss distance would be 30% of what karkinos does. Smaller dinos take 10% damage Sap rage: eating sap will give L acuti's a melee damage boost +50% for 60 seconds. Eating rare flowers while sap rage is active will boost healing by 150%. Eating honey while sap rage is active will boost the duration and effect by 2x. Wild L acuti are aggressive if you get too close, but will only chase you a short distance Taming: lower health below 50% and drop honey similar to Andrewsarchus, mount, and kill as many bugs as you can in 2 minutes or L acuti heals past 75%, After you will be dismounted, continue passive feeding honey or rare flowers to finish taming. Sap will make acuti aggressive Utility: saddle is a mortar and pestle like the equus but can increase in crafting speed scaled to L acuti's melee stat. Queen bee hunter: Pound attack on bee hives will harvest honey chitin cement paste and rare flower. Immune to queen bee dismount and micro raptor dismount (maybe this works on beaver dams as well) Sap harvester: grab a tree with a sap tap in it to have L acuti passive harvest sap from the tap over time. Compatible with Amarg spike. 5x health Regen while gripped to a tree w sap tap. Using primary attack in bipedal stance will harvest 10x sap from your own tap damaging it by 5% Ledumahadi acuti can harvest: berries thatch wood fiber hide meat spoiled meat organic polymer chitin keratin rare mushroom and rare flowers Can damage wood and thatch structures with regular claw swipe, and stone structures with Pound attack only Weight reduction: Thatch, stone, wood 25%. Organic polymer, sap, and honey 50% Will eat sap from a nearby tap if the trough is empty. Can eat stimberries without losing food Not a fan of the original platform saddle suggestion or of it being so large, but it should be comparable to rex and allowed in boss fights-

A very intelligent creature Australopithecus is found in small groups similar to today’s chimps and gorillas they are highly social creatures. They are the only creatures on the island that are able to craft tools and even spears for hunting larger game. Just slightly shorter than your average sized survivor the Australopithecus can either be your best friend or your worst enemy as these small troops have a very good memory and will follow you from on side of the Val to other. Out of curiosity or vengeance. Not even a wall can stop them from getting to you if they are your enemies they will need to be destroyed if they are just curious they can become your best friends. While most troops of Australopithecus are typically friendly some can be very aggressive I assume these groups have had bad interactions with humans before and are therefore not willing to attempt peace. Australopithecus are so strong and so intelligent I have seen them take creatures as large and as dangerous as deinonychus with ease. Which comes as surprise with their short stature. Typically using the cliffs to hide and ambush oncoming prey they will know you are there far before you know they are there. It gives me a weird feeling like I am being watched. Even though they are omnivorous they seem to prefer meat of animals. Although a drawback to this preference they cannot digest meat like most carnivores. The flesh they eat must be cooked to prevent them from getting sick and weak. It’s here where their need to create fire, to cook their favorite food is no doubt in my mind why they are our evolutionary ancestors and if you listen to them closely they even seem to have their own language. Taming: While one could simply befriend the troop and bring an Australopithecus offerings of cooked meat. More often than I’d like too I have seen many human tribes tame these creatures by killing the troop leader and capturing the remaining Australopithecus by tranquillizing them and throwing them in cages until they decide to comply for food. Whichever method is used these guys can help tribes do anything they decide to teach them to do as their intelligence gives them the ability to learn how to do the same task any human can from assisting in gathering resources, farming fields to get the most crops and I have even seen them able to repair broken structures. Some tribes even ally with these creatures to fight a common enemy although be warned supplying these creatures with weaponry you better hope they are on your good side as I have seen some Australopithecus rebel against their captures. Although intelligent enough to learn to use tools and weapons I have never seen one riding and in full control over any beast of burden only riding as passenger. Also not big enough to ride on to any survivor, they can assist you in the hunt or to protect your base even by hang off the walls or a cliff ready to pounce on any unsuspecting prey or intruder rendering the target unable to move until Australopithecus is defeated. I know they’re might not be huge hype on this guy because it wouldn’t be a rideable creature , I was kinda going for something similar to the sir-5rm8 but a biological, tameable creature. Was thinking wild ones could be in groups of 5 to 10I was kinda thinking they could also give single players a very small taste of pvp as being a creature with a type of trust buff where if trust is all the way up they can be tamed easier and passively giving it a huge buff for taming. If trust is at mid it will be a passive tame but without any sort of extra buff. If they trust is below mid they will be aggressive creating bolas and spears as their only weapons in the wild maybe primitive hatchet or pick as well. Trust is based off how you react when they see you as they don’t typically see humans as prey until trust I below mid which can only be brought below mid by doing damage to a member or members of their own troops or mini tribes. Like hyaendons, allos, and other pack animals they have pack buffs as well and killing the pack leader makes the remaining ones fearful of you but trust goes below mid. If you don’t kill the pack leader and have below mid trust they will follow will always aggro on you and if they are really close to your base can climb walls to get to you as well as open doors if they are unlocked. I was thinking for going trust you’d have to make campfires and drop primitive tools (only primitive picks, hatchets, spears, bolas and probably the most dangerous weapon a wild one could have is a primitive torch. Once tamed they can only use these weapons with the addition of metal pick, pike, hatchet, sickle and the most dangerous electric prod. No ranged weapons, explosives or firearms can be used by them) nearby the group so they aren’t so scared of the night and can cook their own meat. And as for taming food they prefer cooked mutton the most but then cooked prime meat, cooked meat, honey, crops and least preferred is berries. I was thinking there should be a limit to which walls they can climb but then while writing this I rembered how in planet of the apes ceaser and other apes could climb metal pillars with ease. I figure just for that metal is the highest tier of wall they can climb but they can scale up cliffs like thycaleo or deinonychus can. When tamed they can be set to turret mode if given a bola. Once you set this you must first look around to find an acceptable spot for your Australopithecus to be set as a trap the can be on a wall or a cliff side it must be set like a wall torch. The Australopithecus will then run to the location and wait for a target to approach its area. This pounce ability works just like the thycaleo but they can only jump onto and stop survivors and creatures that an argentavis can pick up. If riding a creature and you get attacked by on it dismounts you instead of putting a bola on you. This bola attack last longer than a regular bola throw about 10 seconds but if melee is upgraded will last longer for tamed ones. If something larger comes like say a Rex it will just jump and start attacking depending on its behavior you have it set too. If set to passive it will do nothing but sit there and look pretty. For violent method of taming it must carry it into a wooden or metal cage( similar to carrying unconscious survivors into a cage) only then can you access its inventory to feed it. Trust is typically at a low if done this way you’ll want to earn trust back by keeping next to a campfire or feeding it sweet veggie cakes. Keeping them tamed whilst trust is at low will make them go into a similar type of rage that the giga can. They cannot be riden as I think they should be a little taller than a kairuku because irl they were short but don’t be fooled by this they do high damage for a small creature especially when weapons come into play. I know the whistle motion my be kind of a stretch to implement in game so they might need to be picked up similar to kairuku and dodos can be although I imagine them being just shy to big for that. They cannot ride creatures themselves but they can ride in passenger saddles don’t really know if ark could implement all that in game but it would be amazing if they I could just imagine having a diplo carry ten of them to a base and then raiding the base with them cause they could climb over behemoth gateways and walls. They can’t wear armor besides the helmet or hat because I feel like they’d be really OP if they could. I think they should also have a similar leveling up system to the moschops and therizino only you can upgrade gathering, repairing, or battle. I wish I could come up with some artwork like dossier for everyone but with working two jobs and most of my free time spent my fiancé or actually playing the game I hardly find time to even check creature suggestions let alone write one out for this long. I just love this game it’s one of the best I’ve played for a very long time.

Note, no images because I’m a horrible artist. the ournaosaurus is a tanky and exceptional battle mount that provides major buffs for your tames. While it has very little attack power, what it does have is massive health, stamina, and weight stats. The ouranosaurus has three modes that it can toggle between, and its saddle has an attachment to compliment each mode. It can also swap between a bipedal and quadrupedal stance. In bipedal it deals more damage and can turn on the spot but slower movement and attack speed. In quadrupedal it deals less damage but attacks faster and moves faster. They are pretty fast and can swim fast as well. Harvester mode: while in harvester mode, the ouranosaurus is capable of harvesting any foliage in the game at great capacities. While movement speed is slowed down, it gains a weight reduction of 75% for berries, crops, aberration mushrooms, rare flowers, and rare mushrooms, 50% reduction for wood and thatch, and 25% reduction for fiber. In this mode it can harvest all the above mentioned items at great efficiency. It sinks up well with the harvester attachment. Stamina mode: in this mode, the ouranosaurus has decreased stamina drain, allowing it use its abilities of nullification and herd leader for longer periods as well as recover stamina and decrease the cooldown of said abilities much faster. This mode sinks up well with the carrier attachment. Defense mode: in this mode it allows Ouranosaurus the ability to become herd leader with carnivores, plus provides a total 25% incoming damage resistance to all members of its heard. Herd Leader: when within the presence of four or more allied herbivores, activating the Ouranosaurus’s roar makes it the herd leader and the surrounding herbivores become part of its herd. When in a herd, all creatures will follow the Ouranosaurus (if said creature is not being ridden), will attack the Ouranosaurus target or anything that attacks the Ouranosaurus. They also gain a 15% incoming damage resistance. While the herd leader, Ouranosaurus has another ability, nullifier. If a member of its herd is hit with a debuff such as slow, stun, burning, fear roar, etc, the debuff will instead be automatically transferred into the Ouranosaurus sail, where it will be nullified so neither the creature or the Ouranosaurus are affected. It takes 15 seconds to nullify a debuff and the Ouranosaurus can only nullify one debuff at a time, but after one debuff is nullified it can then nullify another. In a member of its herd is hit with a debuff while the Ouranosaurus is nullifying another creature’s debuff, the debuff on the original creature will take affect and be inflicted. The debuff can only be transferred and nullified when first inflicted. The Ouranosaurus can not nullify its own debuff. In stamina mode, it only takes seven seconds for the Ouranosaurus to nullify a debuff and can nullify three debuffs at a time. While in defense mode, Ouranosaurus can create a herd with allied carnivores. While in defense mode, carnivores can become part of the herd or the entirety of the herd so long as there is a total of four other creatures in the herd. Outside of defense mode carnivores can’t become part of a herd. And while in defense mode all creatures have a buff to their incoming damage resistance bringing it to 25%, however the Ouranosaurus can not attack in defense mode. saddle: facing the Ouranosaurus head on, the rider is positioned off to the left of the sail, the ouranosaurus’s right ride, on the saddle. On the other side is the attachment. The saddle has three attachments, harvester, carrier, and turret. They each function as structures that can be picked up and put down and moved by ouranosaurus saddles, similar to carts in game. In harvest mode, all resources harvested are transferred automatically to the harvester instead of the ouranosaurus inventory, allowing you to fill up the harvester, go back to base, drop off the full harvester attachment, pick up a new harvester attachment, and go back to harvesting. No need to empty ouranosaurus inventory or try and move it to the place you need to unload all the resources, just drop off the full harvester and pick up an empty one and be on your way. There is also a tek variant of the harvester unlocked at level 105 that with the press of a button automatically transfers all items in the harvester to corresponding dedicated storage. The carrier works best with stamina mode. While it can’t be picked up and put down like the other two, what it does is it allows for the Ouranosaurus to pick up other creatures and carry them long distances. It functions like a cryopod/gigsntoraptor saddle. You can add as many creatures into the carrier as you want so long as the max weight in the carrier does not exceed a certain amount, probably like 500 or something. An additional bonus about this is that the drag weight of the creature does not affect the ouranosaurus’s weight or speed like how a flyer would be affected. However anything in the inventory of creatures in the carrier will affect the weight of the ouranosaurus. The turret attachment is a 360 degree multi ammo turret. It can be picked up and set down like the harvester. It has multiple modes, rocket launcher, simple turret, advanced turret, and flamethrower. The turret is not automatic and needs a second survivor to function it. You can not operate the ouranosaurus and the turret at the same time, you’re either riding the ournaosaurus and driving it or you’re in the turret. To get the most out of this attachment you need one person driving the Ouranosaurus and another using the turret. The sail: while I don’t have particular ideas for how it would look, one thing I do have is the sail. It would be a large, classic, humplike sail similar to the spinosaurus. On the edge of the sail and in horizontal lines going from the back of the Ouranosaurus up to the edge, it would glow like an aberrant creature. Green glow would indicate harvesting mode, yellow would indicate stamina mode, and blue red would indicate defense mode. If the sail alternates between one color and blue, the blue is to signify that the Ouranosaurus is in a herd. If the sail os purple, that indicates that it is nullifying a debuff and will return to regular color once the debuff is nullified. taming: wild and tamed Ouranosaurus eat one thing, a brand new item only harvestable by players or Ouranosaurus called swamp algae, which can be found underwater in the swamps. Ouranosaurus most commonly spawn in swamps and always in groups of three. You need there to be a group of three in order to initiate taming. If you find a group of two, you can simply find another ouranosaurus of a lower level than the highest in the group of two and lead it over to the other two. Taming process, part 1: the ouranosaurus is proud and will not simply bow its head to anyone, you must accept its challenge and win. To start, put swamp algae on the last slot in your hot bar, walk up to the highest level Ouranosaurus, and feed it. Then, eat the swamp algae. This will be taken as a challenge as phase one will initiate. The highest level Ouranosaurus will sends its two lower level friends to come fight you. You must knock out the lower level Ouranosaurus. Any damage done to them will be turned into torpor damage. The highest level will not attack you, and you and the Ouranosaurus leader and the unconscious Ouranosaurus will be targetable by wild creatures during phase 1. phase 2: if phase 1 is completed, then thebouranosaurus will proceed to test your strength against other wild creatures. It will wander around the swamp, searching for creatures of an equal or higher level than itself and order you to kill them with a certain time limit. Do this enough times without running out of time to gain maximum taming effectiveness and move on to phase 3. During this phase, the two unconscious ouranosaurus and the leader ouranosaurus are still untargetable by wild creatures but you aren’t. phase 3: after completing phase two, the ouranosaurus will start following you. Lead it to a safe spot and then eat the swamp algae to start the final battle. You must lower the ouranosaurus to below 5% hp. Neither of you will be targetable by wild creatures during this phase. Once it drops below 5% hp, it will stop moving looking injured and tired, and you must approach it on foot and feed it algae. Every feed recovers a little bit of its health, and you must keep feeding it algae like a passive tame except it can’t move, until it hits 25% hp at which point it will accept you as its master and it will be tamed. Upon being tamed, it will still only have 25% max hp, and both of you will now be targetable. The other two unconscious iuranosaurus from part one are now targetable by wild creatures, but also tamale by placing swamp algae in their inventory like a normal knockout tame. If you kill the lead ouranosaurus during any part of this taming process the unconscious ouranosaurus will automatically die. Taming effectiveness is only lost if the lead ouranosaurus is hurt by the player in phase 1, 2, and 3 before the challenge starts. You can do the taming on another creature to make it easier, except you have to eat the algae and feed the Ouranosaurus algae on foot or else it won’t work. Dying cancels the taming altogether. i hope you like this idea for the tanky but all around useful Ouranosaurus. I will be submitting many more new ideas later on inc future votes I tried to include a reference photo of the design I like for ouranosaurus but couldn’t make it small enough, so search for ouranosaurus from National Geographic’s Ultimate Dinopedia if you want to see the reference.

Caryosyntrips: the harvesting radiodont
KingRiley posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Wild: Caryosyntrips can be seen by the shores of the great lake searching for pearls and trilobites to consume. These radiodonts are normally solitary, but can be seen in groups and are somewhat curious, following survivors in their underwater travels. Domesticated: When tamed, Caryosyntrips make for amazing harvesters, being able to gather resources from living creatures without detection and being able to Crack open trilobites for excess amounts of pearls. While they are small for ocean fauna, they end up being a wonderful tame, especially with the ability to glide on the water surface and even flop on land. Taming: To tame a Caryosyntrips, ypu simply drop pearls and while it eats the pearls, feed it meat to tame, with the amount of pearls dropped contributing how long it's distracted. Saddle level: Level 36 Abilities: Male Caryosyntrips are small shoulder pets that when picked up, similar to Cosmo, can act as a portable mining drill for chitin and hide while females are rideable and have multiple harvesting styles, being Crack, Shear, and Drill styles. Crack style cracks opens trilobites and sea scorpions to gather chitin, Silica Pearls, and Black Pearls. Shear style allows you to rip chunks of flesh from a target while avoiding detection. This includes Hide, Anglergel, Raw Meat, Raw Prime Meat, Raw Fish Meat, and Raw Prime Fish Meat. Drill style allows it to Drill into rocks, allowing it to gather Oil and Metal. When the males are equipped for mining use, it gives a 50% weight reduction to organic materials from organic resources such as Hide, Meat, and Anglergel and a 75% weight reduction on inorganic materials such as Oil, Metal, and Pearls. The females also have the same reductions. Attacks: Left Click is a simple bite attack, works with both the mount version and shoulder pet version, with the shoulder pet version being able to harvest resources. Right Click is a secondary attack that depending on the style, either grabs and cracks open a trilobite or sea scorpion, shears flesh and hide off a large target, or does a drill spin. C is a cosmetic roar and A when on the surface of the water, allows it to jump out of the water and holding A allows it to glide on the water surface and when it goes on land, it has the ability to flop on shore and even jump and can even flop on land. If there's anything I can do to improve the idea, please let me know so I can improve on the idea. Artwork is by the wonderful BluePaladin96 on Discord, I recommend him once he opens up his commissions.-

Mantis shrimp element grinder( saddle pictures at bottom)
ragure replied to Kamikaze36's Suggestion in Creature submission archive
Description:The Odontodactylus scyllarus (Mantis shrimp) is a formidable creature rarely found in the deep waters and the Emerald forest (abberation zone) of Valguaro. Resembling an oversized mantis shrimp, it boasts vibrant colors and an imposing size, rivaling that of a Megalodon. What sets Odontodactylus scyllarus apart are its unique abilities and versatility in various environments.Abilities: Normal attack: A basic combo of 2 punches dealing moderate Damage to the target. Dual Keratin Shields: The Odontodactylus scyllarus most distinctive feature is its dual keratin shields attached to its powerful front claws. By bringing these shields together, it can form a single large shield, providing exceptional protection against frontal attacks. This ability makes it a formidable tank in battles but lowers its movement speed drastically, and is unable to attack. Shell shock: In dire situations, the Thermaeostylus Pugnator can perform a less intense attack. This quick 2 punch combo strike is used to escape the clutches of its predator the tusoteuthis. This punch stuns the target it hits for 5 seconds making it able to swim away quickly. (Charge up attack of 3 seconds with a cooldown of 20 seconds)Heated Punch: The Odontodactylus scyllarus signature ability is its Heathed Punch. This powerful strike delivers a crushing blow to its target Burning the target. The superheated shielded claws are capable of pulverizing rock and extracting valuable metal ore, occasionally smelting the ore into metal ingots on contact. This makes the Odontodactylus scyllarus an indispensable asset for resource gathering on land and in water. These punches are able of destroying human made structures with great effect against metal but not so effective against other materials. (charge up of 8 second with the longer the charge the more dmg and longer the burning duration. cooldown of 15 seconds)Aquatic Dash: In the water, the Odontodactylus scyllarus showcases unparalleled agility. Utilizing the immense power in its tail, it can perform a rapid dash, propelling itself across vast distances with astonishing speed. This ability allows it to outmaneuver predators and hunt prey with lethal efficiency, making it a dominant force in aquatic environments.Underwater Heathed Vision: The Odontodactylus scyllarus Mantis Shrimp is equipped with a specialized thermal vision system that allows it to see heat signatures underwater. This Heathed Vision enables it to detect hidden or camouflaged creatures, ensuring it never misses a potential meal or threat in the murky depths. Versatile Climbing: The mantis shrimp has the ability to climb walls and ceilings, both in and out of the water. To scale ceilings, it must have its front shielded claws unoccupied. While climbing on walls, it can use its shields to block frontal attacks. Aquatic agility: The Odontodactylus scyllarus (mantis shrimp) effortlessly chooses between Swimming through the ocean depths with aquatic finesse or striding majestically along the ocean floor. Its rapid turning speed in water allows It to perform a swift dash both underwater and when breaching the surface, making it an efficient marine explorer and predator. Harvesting:The creature excels at resource gathering. Its natural prowess allows it to effortlessly harvest flint and stone from rocks, while its heated punch can extract metal from ore nodes. Occasionally, this heated attack melts some of the metal, producing ingots. Additionally, the Odontodactylus scyllarus can gather small amounts of charcoal from trees with its Heated Punch. Taming Method:Taming the Odontodactylus scyllarus (mantis shrimp) involves allowing it to destroy structures, with metal structures being the most effective. you have to place a structure Infront of the Mantis shrimp and lure it out with some honey. Don't stand to close or it might see you as a snack. when it has Destroyed enough structures it becomes dazed and you can feed it a hand full of black pearls, silica pears or ammonite bile (20 at a time). the more structures it destroys the less taming effectiveness it gets. foundations destroyed for lvl 150 daze: metal: 3 Stone: 8 Wood: 20- 6 replies
