Estemmenosuchus: the onorable guardian king of the synapsids
SwordBros posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Wild: Some explorers reported seeing a large land dragon that attacked them as soon as they approached. When i tried it myself, i realized that what i was facing was not a dragon, but a large omnivorous synapsid, which was not normally hostile to me until i returned with others. When it is not hostile, it is as if it invites me to engage in an honorable battle. It is time to prove my worth. Domesticated: After defeating it and earning its respect, this synapsid shows a sense of devotion and protection that i have never seen in any other creature. I have seen estemmenosuchus fiercely protect the bodies of their allies, uncoscious or dead, without abandoning them. They can guard anything they are told to protect. Another extraordinary detail is that other synapsids seem to recognize estemmenosuchus as a superior figure to be respected. Taming: To tame this creature, you must approach it alone, wielding melee weapons (spear, pike, sword) or riding a creature no larger than itself (it is advisable to use a Daeodon, baryonyx, woolly rhinos, trike, sarco, etc). If you approach with weapons from a distance, on a larger mount, or with reinforcements, you will be perceived as a threat and attacked, and the taming process will not begin. When you want to start the taming process, the Estemmenosuchus will move its head in a challenging manner, inviting you to fight. During the fight, the taming bar will rise, which increases faster if you can do more damage in short time. If you take too much damage during the fight and end it while you are dying, the effectiveness percentage will be reduced, if, on the other hand, you decide to retreat in the middle of the fight, the taming percentage will be reset to zero and you will have to start over. Once the bar is full, the Estemmenosuchus will lower its head in surrender, at which point you can approach and claim this formidable new creature. Attacks: left click: bite right click: grab C key: roar (king's voice) Skills: Grab: with a right click, the Estemmenosuchus can grab other creatures. Given its size, it can grab animals larger than the Kaprosuchus and Megalosaurus can. Heat shield: Riding this animal makes you more resistant to the cold of the frozen biome and almost immune to lava damage, which is reduced by 90%. Berserker: when surrounded by multiple enemies, the Estemmenosuchus goes into a berserk rage. In this state, its eyes burn with fire and its attack speed and damage are increased to compensate for its numerical inferiority. All it takes is three enemies, regardless of size, to activate this effect, which only ends when there is only one enemy left to face. (1) Guardian: the Estemmenosuchus is a perfect guardian, it can watch over the bodies of humans and domesticated animals both when they are unconscious and dead and prevent strangers from approaching, it can also guard inactive palyers, it can also guard a specific building or object (depending on what you want you want to indicate to it) it can only guard one thing at a time, so multiple things. Furthermore, they do not respond to enemy provocations, remaining determined to guard and protect what they have been assigned to. Shield for bases: if the Estemmenosuchus is manually fed with the element for a limited time, it generates a tek shield very similar to that produced by the tek shield generator. In this state, the Estemmenosuchus consumes all available food to keep the shield active, just as the Daeodon does to heal. When the shield's effect ends, the process can be repeated, but with each repetition, the cooldown period lengthens until the animal develops an intolerance to the element, so use it only when necessary. (2) Trophy: if you are not interested in taming this animal, once it is dead you can collect its skull, which can be displayed as a trophy. (3) King's voice: by pressing the C key, the Estemmenosuchus will emit a powerful, deep roar (a mix between that of a lion and a crocodile) with which it can scare Kaprosuchus and Sarcosuchus (but not Deinosuchus), just as a hippo would scare crocodiles. This roar also gives it the power to be considered the alpha of the synapsids, with a red alpha aura appearing around it when in the presence of other synapsids or a weaker Estemmenosuchus. Being the alpha of the synapsids not only makes it stronger, but also gives it the ability to enhance their abilities: Dimetrodon: the range of its thermal insulation is expanded, and its speed on land and the damage it inflicts are increased. Listrosaurus: the range of the experience increase circle is expanded and the percentage added is increased, allowing more creatures to level up and with a higher percentage. Moschops: its resource gathering speed is increased and it does not flee from battle; on the contrary, when in danger, it becomes braver and its damage and speed increase, following the example of the Estemmenosuchus. Purlovia: makes it temporarily invisible and undectable when underground. Furthermore, its ambushes are so powerful that not only does it unseat and stun enemy riders, but it can also stun the mount. So if synapsids never receive their own TLC, the roar of the Estemmenosuchus will empower them. Curiosities and motivation: The idea behind the Estemmenosuchus proposal was to able to see one of my favorite synapsids in the game. Furthermore, this animal could also give much more prominence to the synapsid category, as there are only four of them and they are rarely used and underutilized. Estemmenosuchus is the perfect candidate to be considered an ideal synapsid to rival the dinosaurs of Ark in popularity and usefulness. Taking advantage of the name of the genus Estemmenosuchus (meaning crowned crocodile), this animal is ideal for giving a regal tone and intimidating smaller crocodiles. The idea of its guardian abilities is inspired by the fact that it can aesthetically resemble a dragon ( the guardian par excellence). In the Genesis part 1 map, you can find this creature in the volcanic or bog biome. I hope you like the idea of this huge, extravagant synapsid. Vote for the Estemmenosuchus for Gen 1 and take a look at the other creatures we have submitted for this vote: Giant stick bug, Beorn, Crossvallia, Ribodon and Necronectes.- 2 replies
