Spectrovenator, the ULTIMATE Utility Scout!
ShamroknR0ll posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Introducing Spectrovenator! Wild This tough little scavenger is an interesting case. While wild Spectrovenator are mostly docile animals that keep to themselves, when a corpse is nearby, they turn into something fierce. Despite their small stature, they can certainly punch up their weight class. I’ve seen quite a few of these land buzzards fight tooth and nail over any abandoned corpse in the general area. Unlike their larger cousin the Carnotaurus, these guys evolved lacking arms in favor of a spiky-chestplate that they’ll use to throw around anything that dares interrupt their rotting meals. Domesticated Spectros may be tricky to earn the trust of, but can certainly be done, even by newer survivors. Seeing that Spectros tend to lounge around carcasses, and are constantly fighting off any potential thieves, aiding a Spectro in defending its corpse is the key to this animal’s iron heart. Once you do gain the trust of a Spectro though, they prove to be some loyal things. So much in fact, they seem to understand commands from very long distances somehow, and are essentially the perfect scout. Being able to send a stocky but swift lookout to scope out or explore unknown areas without risking your own life is one powerful ability. Not to mention that even if capable of brawling, they can still recover from a tough situation via eating from any nearby carcasses. And I haven’t even mentioned the versatility these handy scouts have, considering I’ve seen tribes utilizing a plethora of harnesses that serve several purposes for varying situations! I’ve seen harness utilities ranging from storage, to armor, to even guns! That said, each saddle seems to have a slot where specimen implants can be placed. Survivor’s Best Friend Spectrovenator is an early-game scout that has a theme that is based around loyalty. Spectrovenator, unlike any existing tame in-game, can be controlled without your survivor actually having to ride it. Instead, you take the POV of the Spectrovenator, and begin playing from there, similar to the Tek Drone in a way. Your survivor will stay in the place where you leave them until you exit scout mode with your Spectro, then you’ll return to your survivor’s POV. This ability allows you to scope out, clear, or explore areas without having to risk your survivor or your must-need items. Extinction is a dangerous map! Being able to scope out the corrupted wastelands, harsh winter Proto-Ark, or the deadly desert Proto-Ark is something that early game players may find difficult, and these perfect scouts may offer a mighty fine solution for this, as well as other needs if need be. This is aided by Spectrovenator’s kit mostly being based around survivability, so don’t fret about your little buddy getting killed with ease too much. This creature is surprisingly tough for its size, stronger than raptor tier for sure. (~400 hp, ~30 damage) Spectro actually benefits through multiple ways as you level up too, so don’t think this guy will be useless once you reach a certain stage, unlike other early game tames. Attacks and Abilities Bite [LMB] - A simple attack where the Spectro bites forward, thrusting it’s sharp chin into its target as well Charge [Hold RMB] - Similar to the Trike’s charge attack, except it can be activated while moving. Hitting something with the charge does high damage, knockback, and a slowdown effect. Tail Spin [C] - The Spectro whips its body around in a 360, dealing knockback and light damage to anything hit. Jump [SPACE] Focus [X] - Focuses on a creature, structure, natural object, or storage container where your crosshair relies, telling you information such as stats, level, or what lies inside. Imagine a cross between a spyglass and magnifying glass. Sense (PASSIVE) - Can tell when creatures are low on health, like a Dire Wolf. Restore (PASSIVE) - Grants a healing effect after biting a corpse, like Argentavis. Drift (PASSIVE) - Similar to Andrewsarchus, Spectro drifts when making sharp turns while running to provide extra mobility and traversing large, tricky wastelands. Harness Up Spectro has several tiers of different “harnesses” that can be unlocked as you level up (These harnesses act similar to Hyaenodon Meat Packs, act as armor, placed in saddle slot, but cannot be ridden.) They’d go in order such as this: Low Level - Pack Harness: This harness is simple, acts as minor armor, heavily increases the weight of Spectrovenator, and gives it smithy properties as well. Mostly intended for transferring resources from one place to another, as well as allowing you to craft stuff on the go (even when in Scout Mode! Don’t ask how Spectro knows how to craft.) Moderate Level - Guard Harness: This harness is a bit more complex, it provides the best armor out of all harnesses, as well as it deals recoil damage to anything that attacks it with this equipped. On top of these, this harness prevents it from being picked up. Someone on their wyvern trying to take your guard dog sky high? No more. High Level - Battering Ram Harness: This harness provides decent armor, and grants the charge attack on Spectro the ability to stun creatures and other survivors, as well as damaging structures. The charge will damage every tier of building, up to Tek. Damage on buildings will vary depending on the grade of the harness. Highest Level - Battlement Harness: This harness provides minor armor, and an automatic machine gun. It does consume ammunition, but this harness provides a weight decrease on all ammunition. Soul Collector Every harness that you can unlock for the Spectrovenator has a slot that you can place any Specimen Implant inside. It can be your own, or someone else’s. Placing a Specimen Implant inside Spectrovenator increases its defense, stamina regeneration, and health regeneration. The effects of these depends on how high of a level/tier the implant placed in the harness is. Higher the tier, stronger the effect. This promotes the idea that a Spectrovenator you own grows stronger as you do, working alongside you. Taming Wild Spectrovenators love corpses, but don’t ACTUALLY eat them in game. They tend to lounge around them, wandering within a certain radius of the corpse. Enter that radius, and it’ll aggro onto you. Leave that radius for a short amount of time and it’ll return to the corpse. (Note that wild Spectrovenators without a claimed corpse are entirely neutral, only attacking if provoked first. You’ll need to bring it to a corpse or bring a corpse to it.) While a Spectro is guarding a corpse, you’ll need to get close to it via Sneaking, Ghillie Armor, or Bug Spray, and feed it a piece of Spoiled Meat. This will activate a sort of “mini-supply drop” event. During this, the Spectro no longer aggros on you, you cannot harm it, and you cannot harvest its claimed corpse anymore. Around the corpse, waves of low tier creatures will spawn (raptors, dilos, compies) around it, and will aggro onto the corpse. As you kill these enemy creatures, the taming progress goes up. For a low level, killing a Dilo and Raptor should be enough for you to earn the Spectro’s loyalty. For a higher level, you’ll need to put in some more elbow grease. The bigger the corpse, the more health it will have and the harder it will be for the enemy creatures to destroy. The more damage you do, the higher the taming effectiveness, so don’t force the Spectro to do all the work for you. In fact, if you fail to protect the corpse, the Spectro will then aggro onto you. Good luck. In Conclusion... Spectrovenator provides scouting like no other, with unlimited range, great survivability, and the ability to keep your survivor safe and sound at your leisure as this loyal scamp scopes for anything that may provide interest to you. Spawns in the Tek City of Extinction for ease and convenience, immersive taming for any level, and benefits for any player, no matter how far into the game you are!- 9 replies

There's a couple choices-Icthyosaurus, Baryonyx, Sarco, and Megalodon. I quite like the sarco, as crocodiles are cool and it's got a solid mix of speed and power. It can also walk up onto land, so you don't need a water pen for it. They're somewhat easier to tame than barys because they don't have the stun, and like I said, they're a lot faster than almost anything else in the water. Megalodon are pretty cool as well-once found one stuck on herbivore island and promptly tamed it-only to find I couldn't get it unstuck. Me, being the idiot that I am, killed it, forgetting about cryopds... Anyway, what are your opinions? Cheers, good luck, and happy ARKing!

Proailurus Ladiencus, the aberrant barn cat
shodanlu posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Wild: Proailurus is usually found in the upper reaches of the caves of the aberration ark, these solitary cats can often be seen hunting prey or lounging around in trees no matter the size, they are usually skittish around humans unless they are presented with food, then Proailurus will be likely to come closer and repeating this process it will eventually allow you to pick it up and it’s pretty much tame from there the only thing needed is training, what I’ve observed is that wild and wild tamed Proailurus will try and avoid any that resembles a canine for example bulbdogs and ravagers this fear may extend to other species such as the dire wolf and hyaenodon. Tamed: when tamed Proailurus had multiple uses one being a way to combat small flying species, they are Able to attack off your shoulder allowing them to fight off seeker to and extent because they can be overwhelmed, this may even extend to being able to grab and kill smaller flying species such as mircoraptor or dimorphodon. However this is not there only use as they can be given two types of collar, the first a invisible fence collar allows the tamer to set the animal on patrol routes to kill, deter, and prevent any small species from entering the base and wrecking havoc on tames, although they can be very dedicated to their job and head strong in nature to do prevent them accessing any nurseries because unless it’s a baby Proailurus a patrolling Proailurus will mostly likely kill it, aswell if allowed to roam and patrol a much larger area than just a base Proailurus has a random chance of bringing back goodies and gifts ranging from blue prints and resources to armor pieces and tools and possibly even ammunition. The third use of this feline is with the second collar a cam collar which allows the owner to watch a live feed from the camera and give commands to the Proailurus which allows them to direct the animal to scout, to remotely hunt with it, to ambush creatures and even other players, and even to map out caves or bases although the Proailurus can be slow or not responsive if not trained or over worked aswell it will avoid canines if it was once wild, and if the controller is attacked the control lost the Proailurus will try and high tail it to make it back to you but will break cover, all around Proailurus are great creatures to tame. -
Coelurosauravus elivensis: Fire Lizard - A Bob's Best Friend
SnowGryphon posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Note: This creature was previously listed under the name of its currently living relative draco volans, which is so much easier to say. But the rules state it has to be a real but extinct creature. So here you are. Coelurosauravus elivensis looks like a tiny winged glowtail, about 8" in size. It is a warming shield that makes you invisible to wild dinos. This little carnivore spawns where sulfur is found, and is passively tamed with cactus sap or (less effectively) sulfur or raw meat; similar to the way sinomacrops are tamed. Once tamed, pick up Coelurosauravus elivensis and it goes into your inventory shield slot (so you can also have a shoulder pet). Visually, it holds onto your shield arm, wrapping its little arms and legs around your arm and resting its head on the back of your hand. (It peeks at you when you raise your arm to look at your implant.) Primarily, this tiny wyvern acts like a full ghillie suit + cactus broth + bug repellent + invisibility ala rock drake, shadowmane, or pachyrhino. It makes you completely undetectable to all dinos, unless you touch or hit them. Pegos will ignore you; sea gulls can't see you anymore. Monkeys won't spook. Cave adventures are a walk in the park, as long as you watch your step! Secondly, if you put sulfur in the "elf dragon's" inventory, it will start to glow and be able to breathe fire. The glow provides a source of light similar to a light pet. The internal fire creates a passive source of warmth equal to a campfire. It can also defend you, burning any attackers who hit you. It is breedable, usually laying 2-4 eggs with one breeding. In summary, the Coelurosauravus elivensis is a Bob's best friend. It's a living torch/invisibility shield that uses the inventory shield slot (keeping the hand and shoulder free). Note: The real Coelurosauravus elivensis were only a few inches long and could only glide, rather than fly. pic from https://www.popsci.com/science/first-flying-reptiles-dragons/- 1 reply

land and water mount Pontolis - The early water mount
helenabee posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The Pontolis is an extinct pinniped which can be found in groups, basking on the large beaches, or swimming around the shallows. Males of the species are larger and very territorial, they will fight each other in the wild. Females are smaller, have a different pattern, no tusks, and cannot be ridden. Basically these guys would be an early game water mount. Not terribly strong, you don't really want to be fighting with these guys, but great for getting around reasonably safely. If something big attacks then you can buff your defence and stun them to flee. They can be kept on land which makes keeping them safe easier in the early game. Mid/late game their use is more for their agility and speed than strength, and the fact that you can shoot while riding them. In the Wild Can be found on the large beaches along the south and west of Ragnarok, basking in large groups. The males are larger and have two pairs of tusks. The strongest male will have an 'alpha' glow and will fight all other wild males in the area. When attacked males will fight back. Females are smaller and will flee when attacked. They can also be found swimming in the shallows. Tamed Only males can be ridden. Form a pack (harem). A pack can only have one male, who will have the 'alpha' glow, and up to 6 females. Each additional female gives a small boost to all the pack's defence. They are very clumsy on land, but extremely quick and agile in the water, able to swim in all directions similar to how a tapejara can fly. Male's melee attack is a slash that causes bleed. Female's melee attack is a headbutt which stuns creatures and causes them to lose aggro (builds stun on large creatures like a yuty's courage roar) allowing you to flee. Males can 'bellow' to buff the pack's defence and speed. Can shoot from the creatures back. Taming Method You need to fight them to reduce their hp to <10%, at which point they can be tamed by feeding similarly to a Moschops. You can only tame the alpha male when there are no other males in the area. Abilities Left Click - bite (inflicts bleed) Right Click - bellow (buffs defence and speed of pack) Pontolis has very low oxygen drain, allowing it to stay underwater for long periods. Player character oxygen drain is greatly reduced while riding the Pontolis. Appearance Similar to a modern day walrus, but much bigger and males have two pairs of tusks. Males are larger, covered in scars and have different markings. Generally they are a mixture of browns, greys and dark blues.-

What is Dracovenator? Dracovenator is an extinct species of Dilophosauridae, it lived during the Jurassic period and it was roughly 5.5-6.5m tall, around the size of a Velonasaur. It was more than likely a carnivore due to its heritage. Dracovenator's name means Dragon Hunter, isn't that cool! Why should you choose Dracovenator for Scorched Earth? Dracovenator will be the perfect addition to Scorched Earth, providing a stable way to knock out creatures with its Torpor dealing abilities and the ability to act as a fridge for Wyvern Milk, as well as an easy way to grab Wyvern eggs whilst being completely unnoticed, and if you would be noticed you can at least defend yourself from them, on top of that it's spit has different effects based on what consumables you put in it's inventory. Dracovenator Dossier Wild: Larger and faster than the native Dilophosaurus, Dracovenator Toxicus is Ark's most fascinating resident. Whenever Dracovenator is on the hunt, its victims fall unconscious before they are even killed. While it seems they are aggressive, I noticed them feeding on bushes, a weird behaviour but perhaps there is meaning to it. Tamed: An asset to any survivor's tribe, once tamed Dracovenator can be fed a variety of narcotics to boosts its venom's capabilities, Like it’s Namesake, it posseses a unique ability to sneak into Wyvern nests completely undetected. Behaviour Dracovenator is fairly aggressive, but seems to relax once it goes through a few berry bushes. However it is still best not to approach as they have violent tendencies. Appearance Dracovenator is around the size of a Velonasaur but with an appearance similar to Dilophosaurus, just without the frill. It has varied osteoderms cover its body with its delightful crest. Taming Dracovenator is a passive tame and must be approached with caution when trying to tame, it is best advised to where a ghilli suit whilst consuming a Cactus Broth. Clear any agro targets in the vicinity, then throw tamed creatures with narcotics, Narcoberries or Bio Toxin in their inventory, let Dracovenator kill that tamed creature and the items will transfer to Dracovenator, it will gain taming effectiveness based on what items you put in it, after Dracovenator is at 100% go up to it and start feeding it Regular Kibble, mutton etc, each type of taming food will depend on how much taming effectiveness it loses. It is best advised to use Dodo's as they are an easy tame. Combat Keep the high ground or be knocked out, have lots of stimulants on you, you'll need them. You can use bear traps to stop them or throw any narcotics on the ground (this does not work for the tamed version). Attacks Primary: Just a regular bite attack, with a fairly decent speed. This attack also picks up wild Wyvern eggs and Drake eggs. Secondary: Spit attack, crosshairs are present on your screen whenever you ride this creature. Gains different effects based on consumables. Spit Attack Mechanics Placing different Talons in Dracovenators inventory will give different reactions with its spit. These options will be placed on a hot wheel and can be disabled at any point. Fire Wyvern Talons makes it become a mini Fire Wyvern where it spits a pool of burning venom which if you or a creature stands in for too long, will set it alight, it deals AoE damage to structures, tames and players. Poison Wyvern Talons makes it become a Poison Wyvern where it spits out a concentrated amount of venom which gives torpor to creatures and players, it does not deal much damage as it is meant more for utility. Lightning Wyvern Talons makes it become a Lightning Wyvern where it spits out a pool of electrifying liquid which stuns players and creatures, this also temporarily shuts off generators. Utilities - PvE Versatile Taming Assistant: Narcotics in Dracovenator's inventory allows you to deal torpor to creatures and players, as if it is mocking the Poison Wyvern. Travel Mount: Dracovenator is an extremely agile creature being able to jump and run far distances without getting tired out, it can also hold a fairly decent amount of weight, as well as being able to climb some surfaces, making it a fairly reliable travel mount. Boss Fighter: Whilst not being used for its spit attack Dracovenator is a fairly reliable boss dino due to its maneuverability and damage output. Egg Stealer: Dracovenator possesses a unique ability where wyverns will ignore it, as it acts as an imposter while you are riding it. Whilst riding it use your melee attack at a nest to pick up the egg. Fertilised Egg Collector: Perfect for any mass breeder, an automatic egg collector so you don't have to wait around to pick up eggs. Abilities - PvP Turret: Putting Dracovenator in its turret mode allows it to use it's basic spit which slows down tames/survivors whilst also debuffing their armour. Base Destroyer: Putting Sulphur in Dracovenators inventory let's Dracovenator spit out a pool of burning venom which deals DoT to structures and players. Raiding Ally: Putting Gasoline in Dracovenators inventory will allow it to shut off generators whilst also stunning players and tames for a short duration. Soaker Counter: Due to its Flak saddle and armour debuffing spit, Dracovenator can help deal with soakers whilst providing support to your tribe. Passive Abilities Harvester: Dracovenator harvests Narcoberries and Bio Toxin at an increased rate, and will also cause Nameless to drop Nameless Venom more frequently. Fridge: Whilst Bio Toxin, Nameless Venom or Wyvern Milk are in its inventory, it will increase the spoil times making Dracovenator a reliable companion when raising Rock Drakes and Wyverns! Torpor Immunity: Naturally since Dracovenator feasts on so much torpor inducing items, it is naturally immune to the stings of Jellyfish and survivors who try to knock it out. Wyvern/Drake Fighter: Due to Dracovenator name sake, it only makes sense for it to be able to have additional damage against the Drake kind. Saddle Dracovenator has 2 saddles, a normal hide saddle or a flak saddle providing a mounted flame thrower but this disables it's ability to use its spit attack. For Studio Wildcard looking at this, here is more information on Dracovenator: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracovenator
