  1. (Scroll down to the TL; DR if you don't like reading) Wild With all the corrupted hordes ceaselessly ravaging the wastelands, it's hard to think there would be a herbivore capable of surviving much less comfortably. Scutosaurus Perplexus stands out from its other contemporaries not because it appears to be some weird hybrid amalgamation of both scutosaurus and the turtle meiolania, but the fact that it quite literally tamed its environment. Scutosaurus is ignored by almost everything in the unforgiving wastes, and anything that dares attack is met with an onslaught of surounding corrupted creatures. This rather bizzare relationship with the corrupted creatures is the very reason it thrives, while its busy feeding and going about its daily activities, its corrupted-element husk sentinels stand watch and aggressively guard this unassuming creature seemingly against their will. Taming To tame Scutosaurus is quite the task, first you have to clear its defenses. Once you manage to kill the entirety of its corrupted entourage, you'll have to face the Scutosaurus itself. several corrupted tumors will reveal themselves on various parts of its body. Each node can only be broken with explosives, taking about 1 rocket or a few tek rifle bolts to break each. Be wary of its attacks, it will fire explosive spike-nodes from its tail that will suffocate and slow you and whatever tame you have. If you are within its melee range, it has a powerful stomp that sends out an immense shockwave throwing back its adversaries while leaving them stunned. If you manage to break its tumors while avoiding its attacks, you'll be met with a much milder mannered Scutosaurus that will happily consume anything you feed it (preferably veggie cakes). Domesticated For those who've managed to tame a Scutosaurus, you will gain access to its very bizarre method of creating temporary armies via mind control. While its combat prowess its nothing to scoff at itd rather take a more commanding or support role in large scale battles and using unsuspecting creatures to do it's bidding by fighting for it instead. The very spike-nodes that line its tail have another function of firing straight into and embedding themselves into the bodies of would-be minions. Corrupted and their normal counterparts are not immune to this, however the size limits of this ability seem to be Giganotosaurus. Once captured, some cracks along its armor and its eyes will glow a vibrant blue signaling its ability is active. the creatures under its control will only take commands if it's mounted by a survivor, where it will translate whistles into commands sent out by its two large transmitter horns. Creatures under its control are notably more formidable than their normal counterparts, corrupted especially as scutosaurus has the ability to push them past the limits of their physical prowess to the point of their husk bodies failing them. Coupled with its passive energy field that grants an extra layer of protection to any allies within a certain radius, abilities that control the flow of would-be attackers and making them easier to dispatch and heavy armor that can shrug off the mightiest of attacks you end up with a near invaluable mount for any large-scale battle. It's almost as if it was genetically engineered to to use the attacking hordes to fight the hordes, but without their human caretakers they became feral. Abilities Mind control: At any given time Scutosaurus can have 20 of its spike nodes deployed, each node represents 100 drag weight. So, you can have at most 20 creatures or as little as 2 creatures. the largest creatures you can control are Gigas and Rock elementals which would require 10 spike nodes each. You achieve mind control by locking on to said creature where Scutosaurus will fire the necessary number of nodes to gain control of it. This works on any creature regardless of level (except alpha creatures) and whether they're enemy tames or not and will last 30 minutes, afterwards the creatures die. Wild creatures (corrupted creatures included) gain perfect-tamed levels upon being controlled. Enemy tames that are captured do not gain any levels (for obvious reasons). Scutosaurus has a large area of influence around it (nearly the size of the default render distance), when wild and corrupted creatures that are under mind control venture outside this radius they die. Enemy tames that venture outside of this radius are freed from their control and become loyal to their tribe once again. The other method of freeing tames that are being controlled are either breaking the nodes with guns, explosives and melee weapons, damaging your creatures hp by %10 or waiting out the 30-minute timer. this will be followed by a cooldown where it cannot be controlled for an extended period of time. Once under control, creatures cannot have saddles equipped, be mounted, have inventories accessed or their radial wheels used. These creatures will inherit the temperament of the scutosaurus for example if the Scutosaurus is set to passive the creatures will be passive as well. (it glows when mind control is active) Explosive spike-nodes: The same nodes on its tail double as explosive that can be more precisely aimed. These nodes do medium amounts of damage and explode into clouds of poisonous gas that both slow down and suffocate anything unfortunate inside them with an oxygen stat. This can be used during OSDs to keep corrupted hordes at a distance. The poison works similar to that found in the swamp cave on the island and won't affect survivors with scuba gear or gas masks equipped. If survivors are lucky enough to land hits, these explosives do bonus damage to titan nodes. Shriek taunt Scutosaurus lets out a loud cry that causes an aggro effect on wild creatures causing them to target it while ignoring everything else. This ability has a longer cooldown so use wisely to devastating effect to pull hordes of creatures into the teeth and claws of allied tames. Mega-Stomp A large stomp that deals relatively small to medium amounts of damage that creates a shockwave throwing creatures back a considerable distance while leaving them with a 15 second stun. This attack does not dismount survivors from their tames. Use this attack in combination with others to be an efficient at crowd control. Vitality boost This passive boost at its base grants 2x stamina and health recovery to any allied creatures within the radius around scutosaurus, this also extends to any nearby crops where they also gain a 2x boost to their growth. This ability's effectiveness can be boosted by the number of creatures it has under control, once the maximum number of nodes are deployed (20), the ability grants 6x stamina and health recovery and +60 armor. Death rattle: This abilty only applies to mind controlled corrupted creatures and takes a significant portion of stamina to use. The scutosaurus violently rattles its armor creating and eerie metalic shaking noise. The spike-nodes embedded in the corrupted creatures bigin to smoke and theyre now put on a 5-minute death timer. During this timer they gain a 90% percent damage reduction and do %200 damage. Armor and damage reduction While not technically an ability, scutosaurus makes up for its lack of outright damage output for extremely durable natural armor, able to take large amount of punishment and shrug it off like nothing happened. At around a 70% overall damage reduction coupled with saddle armor, you can expect this guy to be in the thick of supporting your tames as they're fighting the titans. TL; DR -Scutosaurus is found out in the wasteland as a rare spawn, when you do find it has a group of random corrupted creatures guarding it. -To tame it, you need to kill these corrupted and clear the corruption nodes on its body while avoiding its attacks, then passive feed it. -when you tame it, you can use its mind control ability How does it do this? there's a bunch of spikes on its tail that you need to shoot into other creatures to create a psychic connection. this works on almost every creature up to giga sized (including corrupted creatures and other people tames). the bigger the creatures the more spike you need to shoot into them. - the mind control only lasts 30 minutes, afterwards the creatures die, and you need to tame more. _How do I free my creature if an enemy tribe mind controls it? you can either destroy the spikes attached to your creature. damage you creature's health by 10% Lure your creature away from the scuto so it's out of range. -After your creature is freed, there's a 30-minute cooldown where it can't be controlled again. -when you successfully mind control any WILD creature, they gain perfect tame levels. for example, you take control of a wild 150 giga it comes out 225. Alternatively, if you capture a level 450 corrupted reaper from a purple drop, it will come out at level 675.... yeah. -you can't do anything with these creatures other whistle them to fight things. -It has a special ability called the death rattle that puts mind controlled corrupted dinos on a 5-minute suicide Timer where they do stupid amounts of damage and gain increased damage reduction as if it has an ascendant saddle. after this timer is over, they die. -Scuto has a passive buff you can build up by controlling more creatures, at the maximum, which it 2000 drag weight worth of creatures all the allies near you gain increased hp and stam regen along with free +60 armor. -If you leave scutosaurus in your base, its passive buff makes your crops grow faster. -its other abilities include a roar that draws wild dino aggro towards it, explosive carpet-bombing spikes that release toxic fumes, and a stomp witha huge hitbox/AOE that stuns enemies for 15 secs. -He got real dummy thicc armor EXTRAS -When you capture a wild dino, they will still keep some of their abilities, like gigas keeping their bleed and corrupted creatures keeping their ability to damage any tier of structures. -Will scutosaurus break PVP? no, because you can't put saddles on the creatures you capture or cryo pod them so they're still sitting ducks. -How is scutosaurus useful in PVE? on extinction you can use the same corrupted creatures that you fight during osds to fight for you instead of going out and searching for tames that can do higher tier drops. If you already have tames, or you're with other people, the passive buffs can help you stay in the fight longer. -What can this guy harvest? scuto's main selling point is that you can temp tame creatures, however it has the abilty to harvest pretty much any natural resource while not being the best at any (with more of an affinity towards metal and stone with its stomp) -Does scuto have any other attacks? Its two generic melee attacks are a tail whip and a shoulder bash for things that get too close if you dont want to use the stomp. Why did i choose Scutosaurus? and why mind control? Scutosaurus is an animal that used to live in a wasteland during its own time period and would be right at home in extinction. The element corruption on earth has a hivemind, so why not have a creature that can create its own anti-Hivemind and steal corrupted creatures to fight for it instead. Theres only one creature in ark that does mind control and it's the noglin, and yuty can temp tame carnos so scutosaurus makes the best of both worlds in this regard. Think of it alot less of taking over a creature's mind and more it it puppeteering their body because the unfortunate creatures die shortly after. These abilties work for scuto because extinction is a science fiction map and my idea for scutosaurus is that mankind's last hope to fight the corruption was an engineered creature that could create troops as quickly as possible while also being able to survive the wasteland. However, without people around to tame them, they've gone feral.
  2. Shantungosaurus: Are you tired of slow walking sauropods like the titanosaur or bronto holding your mobile base? Do you want to plough through vegetation like nothing, waddle through water with your base, all while also decimating threats? Look no further than the shantungosaurus! This magnificent beast is of the hadrosaur family and comes from the late cretaceous and grew to a stunning height of 6 meters and reached lengths of 16.6 meters weighing 16 tonnes, that’s the weight of 21 cows! They were also THE largest non-sauropod land creature to ever exist. Their size helped them ward off even the largest threats as near nothing matched its immense size and weight. When provoked they stood on their hind legs and ran surprisingly fast for their body structure. In the wild: In tall forest and jungles, the shantungosaurus can be seen grazing in small herds along with their young, chowing down on berries. The shant takes great care in their young protecting them at all costs. When it sees a carnivore around which could endanger its children, the Shant receives a rivalry buff similar to the trike and goes from passive to territorial, attacking carnivores if they get too close. When attacking they stand on their hind legs delivering decimating stomps and tail swipes using their tail, throwing them back only to charge at them dealing more damage. Taming: When taming its general idea to separate the target tame from the herd or massacre the rest leaving the target alone. The shant itself has thick skin making it hard for most projectiles to pierce dealing massively reduced damage, with one exception, the Ballista turret! Once the bolt is coated with narcotics, the tranq bolt becomes the perfect shant tamer. To most other dinos it will deal a lot more damage than torpor but due to the shants thick skin it deals less damage and so more torpor. However, the shant will only gain torpor when shot in the stomach or underside which is easier to shoot while it is on its hind legs, about to attack leaving only a small window to shoot. The shant will continue attacking both the player and the ballista until it reaches a high enough torpor at which it will run, in situations like this, traps or barriers are very helpful. Once knocked out you will not need you to feed it, simply equip a saddle and there you have your shant. Domesticated: The Shant is an enormous beast rivalling the size of even the giga! With its immense size it harbors a great amount of health and weight also having a 15% overall damage reduction and 40% against projectiles. Its massive muscular tail is used to throw enemies, how far they are thrown is dependent on their drag weight where the less drag weight they have the further they are thrown. The Shant has 2 modes or stances, with different attack sets, Quadruped stance, and Biped stance. The quadruped stance is its default stance withal 4 legs on the ground. The Biped stance increases speed, damage output and attack efficiency i.e., tail swipe throws further, at the cost of higher stamina use. As the shant takes damage and its health drops it damage increases proportionally maxing out at 20% health gaining 2x damage. The shant, having massive muscular legs can carry a enormous amount of weight, giving you the option to equip a platform saddle (190 structure limit, also disables bipedal stance), all while being able to travel at half decent speeds. if you don’t want to sacrifice the bipedal stance and turn the shant into an absolute war beast, you can opt for the tek saddle variant which has multiple turrets and slightly reduces stamina use when attacking and traveling. If there is ever any trees or vegetation in the way, simply sprint into them to send them falling. Abilities summary (tamed): · Immense health plus damage reduction · Extra projectile damage reduction · Throwing tail swipe (based on drag weight) · Quadrupedal / Bipedal stance (no platform saddle) · Extra damage the lower the health · Large platform saddle · War tek saddle · Water wading/travel Attacks: Change stance : left ctrl Quadrupedal Stance: 1) Left click = Headbutt: a standard attack that does decent damage and slight knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) Hold Right click = Charge: a short burst of speed that would charge toward a target stunning the target on impact, (with delay to separate tail swipe and charge) 4) C = roar: a loud bellowing call, purely aesthetic 5) X = stomp: a slightly heavier hitting attack that has no knockback. Collects wood and berries in a radius around the dino. Bipedal Stance: 1) Left click = Claw swipe: a standard attack that does good damage with no knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) Hold Right click = Charge: a short burst of speed that would charge toward a target stunning the target on impact, (with delay to separate tail swipe and charge) 4) C = roar: a loud bellowing, purely aesthetic 5) X = Tail Slam: an extremely powerful attack that breaks opponents’ bones and stuns for a short period of time, it sets the dino back to quadruped stance and has a large cooldown, Sorry for no artwork, but here are some images of the shant itself!
  3. Estemmeno is back! And this time ready for Extinction! If you were around (probably not...) during the Center vote, you may have seen our take on Estemmenosuchus, my favourite synapsid, so we're bringing him back and this time themed to be 100% fit for survival in the corrupted world of Extinction! Now onto the Dossier Common name: Estemmeno Species name: Estemmenosuchus Ultimadentaris Time: Mid Permian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild I am entirely convinced that Estemmenosuchus Ultimadentaris has no fears, they will fight anything that imposes a threat against them to the very end. I can't stress enough just how dangerous an encounter with Estemmenosuchus Ultimadentaris is, they aren't like any other Estemmenosuchus specimen, they are far different, they're aggressive, strictly carnivorous, and lay eggs, almost as if most of their genetics have been modified heavily. Estemmenosuchus Ultimadentaris is an remarkably terrifying predator and even the corrupted creatures fear going near to it's presence, which I partly understand, I don't know how to describe it but Estemmenosuchus seems to hurt corrupted creatures by far more than it can to regular creatures, maybe it is their seemingly natural taste for the corrupted nodules that can at times be found, I've seen survivors guiding the corrupted towards Estemmenosuchus and just see as they begin to swarm the corrupted slowly, did I mention they hunt in packs? Domesticated I don't know of anyone who has been brave enough (and/or dumb enough) to try and attempt taming an Estemmenosuchus Ultimadentaris specimen, in fact, I don't think anyone has tamed one as of yet, however, I know of many survivors who show an interest in taming Estemmenosuchus, which checks out, their amazing hunting capabilities as well as their increased speed when under pressure can make a formidable tame, especially against the twisted results of what Element has done to other creatures. Perhaps a way to tame them is by aiding them in a fight that they almost die to, slowly earning their trust, narcotics definetly seem to not work, and hand-feeding them would be feeding them your hand, I also highly doubt they'll let you 10 feet near their young or eggs, but then again, this continues to be nothing other than a theory. And that was the dossier! Of course, we had to change it for it to stand out more, now onto the abilities of an Estemmenosuchus and why you should tame it - Increased Damage to all corrupted creatures; This means that if you're ever in some trouble with creatures that are even slightly corrupted, Estemmenosuchus will deal increased damage and will take less damage against Corrupted creatures, this also includes to creatures like Velanosaurus and Managarmr. - Pack mindset; As stated earlier, Estemmenosuchus spawns and will be in packs, these packs can be of 6-8 members, you will likely see the leader far away from the pack, just remember, if you see an Estemmenosuchus, their buddies are around too, you're always being watched. - Taming method; Trust gain, instead of stealing their eggs, killing their pack, knocking out, or passive taming, you'll have to lower Estemmenosuchus' health, and afterwards guide it towards a Corrupted Creature, to help Estemmenosuchus killing them, afterwards a trust meter will begin to go up, after the first creature killed, Estemmenosuchus will not chase you, after the second creature killed, Estemmenosuchus will follow you slowly, after the third creature killed, Estemmenosuchus will follow you completely, after the fourth creature killed, you may ride Estemmenosuchus for additional protection, finally, the fifth creature marks the completion of the trust meter, and Estemmenosuchus will be yours, note that this excludes the "pseudo-corrupted creatures" like managarmr, velanosaurus, gasbags, gachas, etc. - Crazed Ego; if Estemmenosuchus begins getting damaged a lot by a corrupted creature, it's ego will be hurt, and it will become enraged and it's attacks would work similarly to the Tek Claws from Gen 1, it will slowly begin dealing more and more damage to the creature, this buff will apply to the pack as well. The Pros of tamed Estemmenosuchus - Corrupted and Boss Killing; Due to the buff that Estemmenosuchus recieves against Corrupted Creatures, it would be quite optimal to use these boys to go on runs for Corrupted Nodules, killing Titans with additional backup, and even Orbital Supply Drops, just be sure to have them well-leveled, otherwise it won't end up as good. - Psuedo-Tank; Estemmenosuchus will be beefy and will hit like a truck, it may tank a lot of hits and considering the Crazed Ego buff ontop of the Pack Buff, it makes it a very good tame for people who want to go out on crazy runs, or want to absolutely demolish a Titan with these dudes. - Kind of Trusty Companion; No matter the circumstance, be it torpor, be it low health, Estemmenosuchus will fight for you to defend you if you're dying, no matter what, it is willing to give it's life for yours, and it will ensure to do it if it has to. - No fears; it takes multiple roars from Yutyrannus to scare Estemmenosuchus away. - Versatility; Estemmenosuchus is incredibly versatile, wanna run through the wastelands? This guy will cross you through without hesitation, Wanna go to the Desert Dome? He's got you covered too, he'll keep you alive and will beat anything that DARES attack you, wanna go to the Snow Dome? He's got you covered, ain't NO managarmr attacking you, ain't NO yuty scaring bro, wanna go to the Crater Forest and build a base? You and your Estemmenosuchus will build a little house together. - EXTREMELY useful in PVE/PVP; Estemmenosuchus is WORTH taming by all means, it's combined abilities make it an extremely worth-it tame to obtain, it'd deal a lot of damage to creatures which are used a lot which could possibly be a game changer whilst in combat. The Cons of tamed Estemmenosuchus - Fatso; If you overwork your Estemmenosuchus by not properly feeding it, or making it overuse it's stamina, it will knock you off and just sit there until you properly feed it or it's stamina regenerates, note this doesn't apply if the survivor is about to die. - Tedious taming; Taming Estemmenosuchus will be EXTREMELY grinded, they can only spawn on selective zones of the wasteland and rarely, obviously not rarer than like, idk, a Corrupted max level Giga, but definetly rarely, it will be a very RNG-Based taming and spawn, as well as a max level Estemmenosuchus isn't always guaranteed - Reduced utility outside of extinction; Estemmenosuchus sounds OP in paper, but in a map outside of extinction it is practically just another high-damage dealing carnivore, this doesn't mean they'd be weak, quite the contrary actually, but Estemmenosuchus excells in Extinction and other maps that include corrupted creatures or the after-mentioned "pseudo-corrupted" creatures - Taming rates don't affect procedure; No matter your taming rates, be it times 100 taming speed it will ALWAYS take 5 victorious battles against corrupted creatures. - Overall PVE/Solo/Small Tribe challenge; Since taming Estemmenosuchus would be such a tedious and long process, a big tribe would be prefferable to find the corrupted dinos and keeping Estemmenosuchus in one place, not to mention guiding the preffered specimen away from the pack. - Pack requierments; Similarly to gachas, Estemmenosuchus will get sad if it doesn't have a pack. Saddle Estemmenosuchus' Saddle unlocks at Level 73, beggining with Late Game ARK; It will have the following requierments: 120 Metal Ingots/Scrapped Metal Ingots 180 Cementing paste 400 Hide 80 polymer/organic polymer/corrupted nodules 20 crystalized blue sap 15 crystalized red sap 60 sulfur The reasoning behind this is for Estemmenosuchus to be a tame that is worth it and at the same time not something you'll see everyone riding around with, making it expensive will make only the true survivors get the resources for this creatures saddle, the way the saddle works is that it'll give Estemmenosuchus a sort of helmet, which will exagerately extend protection from it's horns, therefore making it a sort of crest-like shield like that of Triceratops, the armor will also give the survivor protection from being flanked by enemy attackers, basically, it'd be worth it. Pack While Estemmenosuchus seems grindy, it is absolutely worth it to tame, and a pack of these? Is even MORE worth it. It is self explenatory, tame a pack of these, you get a buff, and if the leader of the pack roars, al the pack gets a buff. And that'd be IT (for now, at least) for ESTEMMENOSUCHUS! Art is coming VERY soon, so stay tuned, and as always ESTEMMENOFTW
  4. Stupendemys was a tortoise of titanic proportions that lived in the Miocene in northern South America, but this subspecies still managed to surpass that size. Wild: In the wild, stupendemys natator is a born hunter hunting animals from fish and mainly sarcosuchus which is her favorite dish, being an agile swimmer one can expect that her speed on land is not the best but on the contrary she is very fast on land. Domestication method: The taming of stupendemys natator is not the easiest you will have to find a stupendemys nest where you will feed a chick with meat and start a domestication process where if you give it a time when the stupendemys mother is on the prowl she will attack you after this process you will have a strong hoof companion by your side. Skills: Bite: Basic attack with moderate damage. Bite Throw: In this skill your stupendemys throws its neck forward grabbing with a bite and pull for heavy damage. Claws in sight: Attack with the stupendemys claws which only works in water and removes it from handling by argentavis, rhyniognatha and Quetzalcoatl. Liabilities: Crocodile Killer: This passive brings a buff that increases damage against sarcosuchus by 200%. Piranha Repellent: Scares nearby megapiranhas into fear and flees. Hardened Hoof: Decreases damage dealt to creature by 15%. Dossier: I saw few creatures with an affection for a certain type of prey as Stupendemys natator has, this giant is native to beaches, swamps and rivers and is a literal thick shell its claws prevent it from being caught in the claws of animals like Rhyniognatha and Quetzalcoatl, in addition to its swimming speed which is incredible, remember these animals are very jealous of their young but their domestication can only be done from them so it is necessary.
  5. Dossier Species: Aegisuchus Witmeri Time: Cenomanuan Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Extremely Territorial Wild: Aegisuchus is a predator that lives in the few lakes and oasises of Scorched Earth. Its head is made of a nearly impenetrable substance that only the strongest of attacks can get through. And most of its body is also covered into Armor, but it is not as hard as the armor on its head. They battle by using their heads to ram into other creatures, shattering their bones like a bite from a Tyrannosaurus. Domesticated: Domestication of Aegisuchus is incredibly difficult, dangerous and tedious due to its highly territorial nature and other creatures that live near it like Kaprosuchus and the like. Known Information: Aegisuchus is a predator that resides within the lakes and oasis in Scorched Earth. It is an ambush predator, waiting at the bottom of water bodies until prey comes close, snatching them within a second and eating them in a short amount of time. It doesn't attack anything that doesn't invade it's territory or perceive as a threat Description: The Aegisuchus is a very large sized Crocodilyform that lives near and in the few water bodies of Scorched Earth. It can swim swiftly in water. It is very bulky, but also very slow on land. The armor on its head can deflect every projectile (except Dilo Venom, Rockets, Fabricated Sniper Rifle, Plant Species Y, Tek Saddle Projectiles, Astrodelphus Starwing Saddle Projectiles) and is practically immune to damage (95% damage reduction, Gigas, T. Rexes, Basilisk, Arthropleura, Carcharodontosaurus, Wyverns, Dodorex, Enforcer, Fenrir, Megalodon, Griffin, Magmasaur, Managarmr, Mosasaurus, Phoenix, Reaper, Rock Drake, Tek Stryder, Explosives, Tek Saddle Projectiles, Astrodelphus Starwing Saddle Projectiles, Alphas and Boss Creatures, all of which Aegisuchus has a 40% damage reduction to). Its Armor is also quite tough (50% damage reduction, 35% to the creatures mentioned above) Taming Method: The Aegisuchus has a has a taming method slightly similar to the Megachelon. You need to repeatedly damage it's underside using low-damage weapons until the taming bar is full. If it is hit or you stop damaging it, then the taming bar will quickly deplete. Saddle: Its saddle would be unlocked somewhere between level 40-50. The saddle would act as a mortar and pestle Special abilities: 20% Weight reduction for desert materials and minerals Left-click for bite: Basic bite Right-click for headbutt: Deals heavy damage and can stun creatures smaller than a Therizino https://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegisuchus
  6. Species: Saltasaurus macronarius Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile... Too Docile Wild The Saltasaurus can be identified from most other sauropods by their unusual dermal protrusions on the back of the animal. Upon closer inspection, these protrusions appear to be made out of a similar substance to preserving salt. These animals have no quarrels with wild predators as they don't have reason to eat a living salt rock, especially in a desert where keeping hydrated is so difficult. However, what is difficult for most is easy for Saltasaurus and the animal has adapted the environment's salt into armor instead of allowing it to dehydrate the animal. That being said, without natural predators they have no reason to expect attack and do not really know how to defend themselves well. Domesticated Saltasaurs absolutely love salt licks, so it is unsurprising to learn that salt is their preferred food choice in taming. Upon being tamed the Saltasaurus is typically used as food storage by human tribes which are first developing and can even rival the refrigerator in terms of keeping consumables from spoiling so quick. They also act as a decent "safe mount" to explore the wastelands without worry of being attacked by predators. Even in tribe-mounted attacks Saltasaurus can come in handy. If it were to be attacked by an enemy tribe's carnivore, they would suffer the effects of dehydration. Another usual use for Saltasaurus discovered by a tribe of scientists is that the armor can be used as a sort of smelling salt when broken. Go figure. Description Saltasaurus appears like the image given below with the armor being made of salt, the mouth being more of a beak, and the neck having a more upward tilt to it (no base-game sauropods have that posture, so I figured why not). Of course as the title states the preservation in its inventory would work to preserve food, essentially just short of the preservation time of a fridge. It's very small for a sauropod with decent health, but not on the level of Bronto, so it has a small damage reduction also. It has a neck swing and a tail attack, but they deal relatively low damage and the animal doesn't use these attacks in the wild. Wild carnivores simply do not aggro to Saltasaurus even when attacked, but will either ignore it or retreat if attacked by Saltasaurus. If Saltasaurus is attacked by a carnivore, that carnivore will get a "dehydrated" debuff where it cannot regen stamina temporarily making it dangerous for a carnivore to continue attacking and gaining torpor when out of stamina. Vice-versa, upon being attacked (By an enemy, cannot be activated by your own tribe. Wild herbivores could be utilized to activate this effect) Saltasaurus has a buff applied to it where it acts as a living smelling salt and instantly wakes up any allied creatures near it that have gone to sleep thanks to torpor. Of course all of this is subject to change, the developers can put their own spin on the salt theme I would just be happy to have this guy in game.
  7. Update: I have recently learned that the person behind the Ark Additions mod is close to finishing a Deinocheirus for his mod and it will be releasing soon, for his benefit dont upvote. I guess us console players gotta wait until august then Description and Abilities: In my opinion ark deserves a more powerful multi purpose creature, so let me introduce the Deinocheirus. The grand idea for Deinocheirus is more of a mid to late game tame for scorched earth that could be a beneficial due to the maps harsh climate and hostile creatures. This creature's most crucial feature will be its thick fur/feathering, which will provide the rider with an insulation buff as well as providing a natural damage resistance to the creature (nothing to broken probably 20-25%) but will provide heavy resistance towards wyvern breath attacks. If it come into contact with water it will produce a hydration buff that greatly reduces the need to drink. Another feature would be 3 separate attacks that provide 3 different purposes: 1. Bite: a pretty standard attack that can harvest berries/fibre from bushes, thatch from trees and hide from bodies. 2. Claw swipe: a more brutal attack that can cause bleed (even to bosses) as well as having wood and meat harvesting capabilities. 3. Body slam: An extremely powerful attack with a cool down that Involves a jump and a wwe style move that deals massive damage, stun, aswell as dismounting. Its two final abilities will be a weight reduction for harvested items and the longer it runs the more speed it picks up. For the size I believe being slightly bigger than the Allosaurus should be a fair bet. Behaviour and Taming: The behaviour for a wild Deinocheirus should be similar to that of the dire bear, passive for a few moments than extremely aggressive with the intention of killing. The Taming for this creature should be passive and requires a certain animation to interact. The general idea is it will wonder for a while and proceed to sit it will open its mouth and start panting, once this happens you walk up to it and feed it water to hydrate it, the colder the water the greater the effectiveness. Location: The location of this creature will be around or near the green obelisk since its a nice beautiful area, with the added bonus of an alpha variant that spawns out in the dunes of the desert. With that all said and done, Good luck to all the creature submissions.
