It is a medium-sized species of canid that originally lived in the Mediterranean islands of Sardinia (Italy) and Corsica (France) during the Pleistocene. They are solitary animals and prey on smaller fast creatures. Since the dhole’s diet is limited to smaller prey, they specialized in hunting small fast-moving creatures. You can spot these canids hunting and scavenging alone or with small groups of the same species in the wastelands hunting for weak, injured or small creatures. They are super curious about survivors have been seen curiously going up to them however they seem to avoid them when there are a lot of other creatures around. Some say that if you feed it once it goes up to you that they will allow you to pet them overtime you will be able to form a bond with them allowing you to tame them. Abilities. Sardinian dhole doesn’t just make great companions as a survivor’s best friend, but they are great at tracking. Tracking. - able to detect weak/injured creatures, or even dangerous threats. - able to detect and locate your own creatures, can help you track down any of your missing creatures. Scavenging. - the ability to dig I have heard from other tribes that some may even find some interesting loot. - they could even be able to find and pick up dropped/lost bags dropped from survivors. Dossier transcription 📖: Wild 🏞️: The simbakubwa kutokaafrica is one of the largest carnivorous mammals ever to have lived on Earth: it's much bigger than a lion! Simbakubwas tend to live in groups, but some can be found wandering alone in the abandoned city, in the desert biome, the sunken forest or the wasteland of Extinction. Males have a slightly darker, more developed mane than females and are slightly larger. Simbakubwas have a variable temperament: if they're hungry, they'll be very aggressive, otherwise they can be territorial, playful or cuddly 🤗. Spawn locations 📌: Domestication 🦴: To train a simbakubwa, you'll have to alternate several training methods: feed him with the corpse of a creature, pet or hug him (be careful you have to be very skilful as it can become aggressive), give him a bone to chew on (new item made from keratin or bronto bone I'm not sure yet) and finally play with him. Playing with him consists in throwing a spear or arrows as far as possible, and he'll have fun bringing them back to you. The farther you throw, the more effective the taming. Note: It's A LOT more easier to tame a baby than an adult in particular due to the fact that it will never become aggressive towards you. However, you have to isolate one and good luck for that because the parents will track you to your base to take their baby back. Also, if you kill the adults near the baby, it will flee and will not want to be tamed for a certain time... Tamed 🐕‍🦺: The simbakubwa is remarkably useful. It can stand guard, patrol according to a path you've indicated. The patrol is inspired by a mod. The simbakubwa also has a sense of smell, enabling it to search for resources or track down a target that you can so easily lose sight of on Extinction... This creature can be mounted with a saddle. Warning: the simbakubwa requires special care. If you don't give him enough attention, he may run away, be temperamental and no longer want to obey you all the time, and he won't hesitate to attack you if you beat him (his patience has limits...).
