So for Thanatosdrakon I didn't want to do a flyer, but designed it around the fact that Genesis is a simulation, so what would happen if an Azdarchid couldn't fly. This is what I came up with. Species: Thanatosdrakon Magnaos Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Extremely Aggressive Wild: Thanatosdrakon, the Dragon of Death, a fitting name for this creature. Unlike normal specimens, this creature has been designed by the genesis simulation as something which should never occur. A flightless Azdarchid which has been purposely designed with the single objective of killing. It will relentlessly chase down survivors and prey alike, scaling cliffs with its shear strength and hurling boulders in your direction. If that wasn’t enough it will scream so loudly that you will lose all sense of direction. Nothing will get in its path, otherwise they will be on the menu as well. Good luck with this one. Domesticated: So you want to risk certain death, lose a few tames whilst at it? Good luck because this terrifying Dragon of Death will test your limits by demanding the highest calibur trophies from around the ark’s. They seek only strong masters, time to step up your game. The lucky few who have tamed them are almost unchallenged, sporting high damage output, the ability to climb and destroy structures, metal and element, makes them one of the most powerful creatures. Taming: To tame a Thanatosdrakon you must first collect trophies from various creatures, the harder to get trophies award higher taming effectiveness. After you have collected your trophies, locate a female Thantosdrakon which are sat on their nest, they will scream at you causing your directional inputs to be inverted, if you make it to them whilst your controls are inverted they will act surprised, and become willing to accept your various gifts for her nest, after some trophies she will show her egg, each trophy will provide bonus levels to the baby which hatches from the egg. Special Eggs: You can ask a female Thanatosdrakon to lay either a amnesia egg or a buff up egg. An amnesia acts like a mindwipe for a limited duration, and the buff up egg once consumed will buff your melee stat for a short period, allowing you to do all sorts of things like harvest with more resources gained, this egg also works on smaller tames to give them a much needed damage boost during boss fights. Screams: Thanatosdrakon will come equipped with 2 screams, Sonic Scream and Nullifying Scream, Sonic Scream applies inverted controls and muffled audio for players. Nullifying Scream will cause any positive or negative effects in its vicinity to be neutralised, for example a tame of yours is fear roared, using nullifying scream stops the effect of fear roar, now if an enemy has been courage roar, it will also neutralise it. Main Abilities: Sonic Scream: Sonic scream is an ability which cause players to have their controls inverted and muffled audio for a duration. Nullifying Scream: Exactly what it says, it nullifies any buffs or negatives conditions for a short period. Bone Break Punch: Thanatosdrakon uses its immense strength to break bones of other creatures, this causes a slow down effect. Pin: Thanatosdrakon will be able to pin players and smaller creatures to the ground where its beak attacks will finish you off. Rock Throw: Gathers nearby rocks which can be aimed and thrown at creatures and players. Grappler: Can grapple larger creatures to reduce their movement and allow for further follow up attacks. Climber: Using its pronounced muscles it can climb surfaces, and scale cliffs. Harvester: Using its punch attack it can harvest metal and element shards, using its beak attack it can harvest blood packs from creatures. Amnesia Egg: Works similar to a mind wipe but with a limited duration, so it can enable you to change stats without needing to fully change them permanently. Buff Up Egg: Allows players and small tames to gain a damage boost for a short period. Swimmer: It can swim, you aren't safe in the water. The bird knows not of its limits, in its ever present thirst for strength. Cryodrakon Harasser • Insulator • Ambush Mount • Ice Immunity [Chill out survivors!, Allow me to break the ice and introduce...] Common Name: Cryodrakon Species: Cryodrakon Chione Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Opportunist Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: It is strange to see pterosaurs flying in the snow biomes without suffering in these extremely low temperatures. In the beginning, the survivors didn’t believe in the tales about a flying reptile with freezing breath until they saw a feathered group of pterosaurs creating a small snowstorm around a Megaloceros couple, freezing their victims with their freezing water breath. Taming: In order to tame a Cryodrakon, you must first hide from its keen thermal senses by using Fria Curry to obscure your heat signature and confuse it. When approached while in this state, it will start frantically flapping its wings at which point you can feed it Spicy Fish Cake or kibble to restore its strength. Once it consumes the Spicy Fish Cake, the effects of the spicy food will kick in. After flapping its wings, it will release a burst of cold air that pushes you back slightly. You must then run away before it notices you and repeat the process over and over until it is fully tamed. Domesticated: Survivors found a way to domesticate these Frost-breathing creatures. Cryodrakons' favorite foods are Prime Meat, Jerky, and Spicy fish cake. The tribe uses these pterosaurs as a living refrigerator, a substitute for the cryo-fridge, and a flying saddle to blind and raid the enemies’ bases. Height Chart Abilities/Controls Frostbite (Hold leftclick/R2/RT to charge up): The Cryodrakon rears its head back before swinging its head down to inflict a devastating bite upon its target. (at least 50% stronger than basic melee) with a 5-7 second cooldown Ice Peck (Left Click/R2/RT): Relatively quick melee attack with moderate damage Right Click/L2/LT: Blizzard/Snowstorm The Cryodrakon takes to the skies and starts flying in tight, circular loops around a designated area, summoning a swirling blizzard. Every player and creature caught in the vortex is hit with the new "Wind Chilled" effect—reducing movement speed by 50% (as if they just strolled into a snowdrift on a winter day). In addition, players caught in the tempest will be dismounted and frozen, leaving them to reconsider their life choices (or at least their choice of mount). Interrupt: If the Cryodrakon loses 15% or more of its total health during this action, the blizzard is immediately cancelled—because even a frosty storm needs a break when it’s taking a hit. C/R1 /LB: Icicle Feathers. The Cryodrakon hisses and becomes covered in ice Feathers. When active, it increases Frozen Feathers' armor value and inflicts return damage to attackers. It can be used every 15s by both a rider and the AI X/R1+R3/RB+RT: Thermal Vision. The Cryodrakon reveals nearby thermal sources to the player's eyes. Space/X/A: The Cryodrakon starts flying. To land press the same button near the ground. Cryodrakon's feathers The Cryodrakon Chione naturally regenerates Cryodrakon’s feather after it uses or loses one, the regeneration time seems to be around 8 seconds per feather, using this numbers if the Cryo loses all its 15 feathers it will need to wait a total time of 170 seconds (or 2:09 minutes) to regenerate them all. To retrieve a Cryodrakon's feather use the radial wheel, once retrieved it can be used to craft the Cryodrakon's Saddle or to gain +50 increased hypothermal insulation. SADDLE Despite being an Azhdarchid as massive as a Quetzal, the Cryodrakon outflies it, perfect for when you're trying to escape from creatures like Wyverns. This Saddle is designed for maxium comfort for both you and your Cryodrakon, making long journeys a cold air breeze. Instead of having to strap your torch onto the saddle of this Giant Winter King, just light the lantern by your seat and ride on into the night. Passive Turret Mode: The Cryodrakon has a turret mode, allowing its AI to stay in position while it freezing the target Flock Bond: This Cold Pterosaur has a warm heart for its flock, allowing it to increase its damage by 20% to protect its group. Meat Preservation: The Cryodrakon’s Inventory doubles the spoilage time of all kinds of Meat inside the Cryodrakon's inventory, making a total preservation time of x8 the normal time. It also reduces the total weight of the meat by 70%. Minor Immunity to Cryosickness: The Cryodrakon Chione is slightly resistant to Cryosickness from Cryopods, receiving only 60% of the torpor effect and having its stamina reduced by half. Utility Environmental Travel: The Cryodrakon can swiftly traverse cold regions, offering excellent insulation. It is an ideal travel mount for exploring areas with lower temperatures. Insulation: Similar to the Basilosaurus, riding the Cryodrakon provides the player with the Insulation buff, massively increasing the player's Hypothermic and Hyperthermic insulation Mobile Icebox Cryodrakon isn’t just a fierce flyer—it moonlights as a state-of-the-art mobile cryofridge! It can store perishable items in its inventory with a spoil timer equivalent to that of a Refrigerator, even when its cold feathers aren’t active (yes, that’s a cool upgrade at Level up Weight). Not only does it handle your everyday perishables, but it also keeps hard-to-store items like Wyvern Milk and Nameless Venom fresh for an impressively long time compared to a fridge. Cryodrakon's Nest This nest will be a special craftable structure designed for incubating Cryodrakon eggs. Instead of using an incubator, you can hatch them in this nest, which will speed up the incubation process.
