  1. I downloaded the August map snapshot of my base. My PC runs the game poorly. I lowered all the video setting as well as the texture settings.  The map will run but has low FPS. It will also randomly freeze up and/or crash. I am tearing down the larger bases but till they are gone, is there a way to improve and stabilize the game. I don't want to zap all the bases at once till I finish looking them over. What setting are you using that seem to work. My PC has 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, GTX1060 video card, and a 7th gen core I7.  It is old but ran the server map just fine.  Plus the original single player map ran great. Thx!

If you plan on downloading one server save for SP, then yes you would want to move your items to that one server, and leave you char on it for the time to make sure it is in the save file.

If you plan on downloading the saves of all your servers then, no do not move items, but still leave your char on one for 12 hrs to be sure it is on a server save file that they take.

Hi, good answer. If you know, how big will the files for bases be? Just an approximation if you know. I think I'll need to clear some space on the PC. I was going to DL my 5 maps with their toon. Thx!

  3. Hello, my maps that lost cables were on Ragnarok, Valgero, and Crystal isles, and Fjordur.  The cables on The Island remained and Rag was the only base with unpowered fridge where the pods had 2 days left.  I'm sure I'll never know for sure and I'll just rebuild the hurds when I go off line after the wipe.

PS: I play exclusively on regular official PVE

..hmm it depends on another factor: when did you last look inside the fridge? (before the deterioration of the cables).

    Like you, I keep my Criopods "alive", but keeping them powered is not enough, at least once every 29 days YOU MUST LOOK INSIDE EVERY FRIDGE TO REFRESH THEIR INTERNAL TIMERS, I'll try to explain: every Fridge recalculates its timers ONLY when which you open the fridge inventory, Ark veterans know that even if a fridge hasn't been powered for a long time, it's enough to turn the power back on before looking inside the fridge to find the loaded capsules even if more than 30 days have passed ( if, on the other hand, you open the same fridge before turning it back on then everything will be flat and dead) and this happens precisely because the fridge will do the calculation when you open its inventory and will take into account that it is powered AT THAT MOMENT;

my hypothesis (correct me if I'm wrong, and I insert examples on the days) is that: you opened the fridge on day 1, you continued to render your base every day for 100 days, on day 101 you found the cables broken but since you entered the day before you checked a fridge (not reactivating the electricity first) thinking you still had another 30 days of charge and instead everything was dead because the last time you had opened that fridge was more than 30 days ago, therefore the fridge made his calculations taking into account that at that moment it was off and that more than 30 days had passed for him. If this was the case for you, it would have been enough for you to turn the power back on before opening the fridge.

SUMMARY: the fridges perform the calculation only when you access their inventory, they will first take into account whether ON or OFF, immediately after they will calculate how much time has passed since you last opened their inventory

[that's why I at least once every week or two weeks, I open all the fridges to reset this timer]

First of all thx for your response. I can see the merit in your post and it would be accepted for some of the fridges on 2 of the maps. I do believe I did access those that went dead prematurely. However on 2 others that I know I was in, 6 days ago now, One had all cryo pods dead and the other had 2 days left on the timer.  The math just doesn't add up. I restored power to the last fridge and am now recharging my few remaining tames, about 30 wyvern. and  20 other tames. But it still begs the question, how did my cables auto decay in less the 8 days? Forgive my suspicious nature where Wildsnail is concerned. They have not exactly kept my trust over these many years.

  5. I contend that WC is rolling back servers to speed the exit of existing players on official servers they intend to wipe soon. Why you ask? Well I refresh my maps every 5-6 days to keep all structures intact and power going to my 100's of cryo pods in active chambers. I signed in and found my electric cables auto decayed on 4 of 5 maps. The cryo pods which have an unpowered life of several weeks were all dead on 4 of 5 maps.  Even if, and it's a big if, I went past the 8 day limit on cables the unpowered cryo pods should not have died so quickly. I contend that those of us that are trying to maintain their bases are a problem WC intends to stamp out. This way the final wipe will involve fewer back ups and less complaints. Has anyone else had this experience? I have almost 7,000 hours of game time wiped out in less then a week. Shame on the staff at Wildsnails. You repulse me!  FYI, fanboys, please don't ask me to submit a ticket. To get any response from them is like me, a 68 year old man, being given a ticket to the moon and expecting to go!

Or just don't give them your money. If it's that big a deal to you.

Thanks for your Mod service but snide/obvious comments don't help snailcard out of the pit they dug for themselves. His point is legitimate to those who are financially and emotionally invested in a particular game. People on here get so hooked that it produces a withdrawal effect to not reup to the next level. Game developers know this. They count on players getting hooked to the game and community so that they feel they have no "real" choice but to carry on.  Personally I can DL my bases but I will miss the interaction I had with some great fellow gamers. Just my 2 cents.

  7. Hello,

I am wondering what players are planning, that are going to take their files to off line, to single player mode. Here's my issue. I have a different toon on  each of my maps( The Island, RagnarokFjordur, Valguero, and Crystal Isles. Each of these maps have a good selection of creatures in cryo.  I assume the transfer to other maps will not work in single player between these diverse maps. Should I consentrate all the dinos on 1 map only or keep them spread out to each map base. I have a 400+ wyvern at least on each map. I know I could spawn in what ever I want but I'm trying to stay as close to the way the game is played now with the exception of decay rates going away. Anyone have any thoughts on their road maps when leaving the official servers in August? Are you still maintaining your bases?

RIP Ark. I played for years since even before Abbarition came out and your charging us veterans that played this long for a slight better detailed Ark? Sure we have bit our tongue due to bugs, glitches, disconnections for all these years and all, but how will the details make Ark 2 a sucess? Your going to buy Ark 1 all over again with no changes just the same bugs, glitches, and disconnections with blue screens.

This true is to the point that after 7 years on the game I never get off a flyer without eating a steak just in case I'm still in the air on a lag rubber band. Makes you wonder what's the point of buying ASA if this is the state after 7-8 years on ASE.

  9. Well, you really think you'll have ASA ready for August? I doubt it. You are going to rush a bug/lagging game to market while turning off the servers to loyal customers. I believe Ark in all it's forms along with Wildcard/Snail games is going to wind up in the landfill right next to the Atari ET game. So begins the great game crash 2023 when other companies try to follow this company's road map straight to hell.  I am sorry to see you go. I might shed a real tear!.....Nah!

Dear Studio Wildcard, I love you,

After taking a scroll through these posts I've seen many examples of rude ungrateful and completely wrong comments.

As you are aware many of these people commenting illogically/negatively are your enemies (even if they can't comprehend it), they can't comprehend the amount of love, care, hard work and support you have freely given them through the years and even now.

If us players had to pay you for all of the FREE content you've given us over the years, we'd be down atleast $500 a player! I've been playing for 5 years, I feel like I owe you money.

Even with all of the glitches and a couple corrupted saves/remade worlds, Ark: Survival Evolved is one of the best video games ever made. I play self-dedicated with my younger brother.

Your game has helped bring me great joy over the years, I thank God for you. Your company is filled with and run by Incredibly dedicated and brilliant individuals.

I was excited for the offer of $50 for Survival Ascended and Ark 2. But this new deal is even better! you added all of the DLC almost for free. With your kindness, whatever deal you offer will be more than we deserve value-wise.

I can confadently say that Studio Wildcard is one of my favorite  companies period!

All that you're doing sounds amazing, you've made tremendous improvements. The new AI + interactive foliage + new physics + updated art + ray tracing+ UE5 will be wild! I can hardly wait for gameplay footage!

DLSS hardware AI anti-aliasing will be amazing, a lot of people seem too confused to recognize that UE5's temporal anti-aliasing is better than (or equal to) FSR's version of the same technology.

I believe that the game will look and feel amazing to play(like the original! I hope that one day the Ark game franchise is bigger and more profitable than Fortnite!

A lot of players are anticipating your studio's next decisions with excitement, gratitude and dedication. We plan to be with you until even after you have dethroned games like Minecraft,l and Fortnite.

You had humble beginnings, no one knew you. But through your years of hard work beyond what we could have imagined years ago, you have earned my/our dedication. From my heart I thank you all.

P.S. In my humble opinion, the ungrateful commenters don't deserve/haven't earned anything from you. They won't be with you when you stand in the #1 spot of all games.

It would be great if you banned the disrespectful people and deleted their evil comments. You've already invested enough painstaking energy trying to explain things to them in a way that they will understand. But they refuse to listen.

Cut them off, for your own mental well-being, please. If they hate how awesome Survival Ascended sounds then they won't have to buy it.

Problem solved. I will buy it, many more will buy it than the numbers who leave. You're about to have a ton of new players.

For your own happiness, cut off these hateful people who think you owe them something. They speak like you are their slaves. You owe them nothing.

They can play something else, let them play something they deserve. Replace them with more grateful people, please. God Loves you, I love you. Thank you.

    signed Yours truly,

    mama

PS: Don't for get to pick up the system crash and the bag of "lag" for your game tomorrow

  11. I will add my voice to this mess. You can't deliver Ark2 for years. By this standard it may be years before you can deliver a product to knock ASE off their servers. So we all twiddle our thumbs as the August date to close the servers keeps getting pushed back? This is a mess that has not been thought out at all. You see the dollar sign and jump to a money grabbing post. Then back peddle and go to the equally ill conceived "plan B". Listen to your customer base. We can and will spend money on new products but not when it means losing our bases and tames. If servers are actually underperforming close them. Leave the active servers alone. You guys are (supposed to be) so smart, get it done!
