(Sorry for it being a bit long but there's good stuff here I promise ;)

Wild

The Giant Polyclad can be found in the Coral reefs of the shallows where they lie in camouflage waiting for prey to wander into its reach. The giant Polyclad lunges and wraps itself around the prey's body and crushes it while injecting a toxin to liquify the prey's insides and consume it with its proboscis. However, The natural predator of the giant Polyclad, the ichthyosaurus, is immune to this toxin and uses its echolocation to find hidden Polyclads and dispatch them with their toothed jaws.

During Periods of rain some Polyclads travel on land to consume plant fibers for the bacteria that live on them, which enhances their already lethal toxins, but some may not make it back to the sea by the time the rain stops and will dry out. These dried bodies can be harvested for black pearls and an abundant amount of cementing paste. When Polyclad bodies are harvested in the water they will offer chroma mucous and organic polymer.

Taming

Because humans are not off the menu, if a survivor happens to be snatched up by a Giant Polyclad they must struggle to escape before they are crushed or injected with this toxin. If you do manage to escape, this is the first step to taming this toxic critter. After escaping its grasps the Polyclad will not try to chase after as it costs too much energy to do so, then you'll want to approach it with many Shadow Steak Saute and drop them nearby as when eaten, it seems to overstimulate the Polyclad and alter its brain chemistry; making it less aggressive while fortunately making its toxin less potent.

Domesticated

Tamed Polyclads are much less conserving of their energy and can glide through waters at high speeds. However this is very taxing to the creature and it often feels the need for a quick snack. Survivors can harvest the polyclads chroma mucous. Which allows it to camouflage, and put it on themselves so they can also be camouflaged when the Polyclad is.

While it is not known how to breed Polyclads, another tribe had discovered something else. If a Polyclad has a part sliced off of it by a very sharp weapon like a sword, the part sliced off will grow into a completely new one. I’ve learned that most of the time they are only able to do this twice as continued severing will cause them to die.

Gameplay Features

-Giant Polyclads can go completely camouflaged into its surroundings but at a closer glance it becomes clear that there is something there.

-can be ridden with or without saddle

-produces Chroma Mucous, can be applied in the armor slots and as a skin to the Polyclad saddle to make the player and saddle completely camouflage along with it. Chroma Mucous can also be used as a replacement for bio toxin

-Hard minigame to escape the Polyclads grasp when the player is caught by it.

-Attack the Polyclad to free whatever got caught in it (other players or creatures)

- The giant Polyclad can glide through the water with ease but drains energy fast (just like the griffin). This means it will soon have to stop to rest (takes longer than regular stamina regain) or it can instead devour another creature to quickly regain energy.

-When on land the Polyclad has a Moisture meter telling how much time it has left before it dries out. When dried out the creature will go unconscious and will have a bar similar to the torpor bar. When this bar runs out the Polyclad will die, this can be avoided by having another creature to drop or push the heavy Polyclad back into the water. The Moisture meter will stay full if it is currently raining or snowing in the area.

-contact attacks will cause a small reflective damage output except to robotic creatures and poison immune creatures.

-Ichthyosaurs are the only creature that will attack the Polyclad first besides land creatures that usually do.

-Dried out Polyclad corpses give cementing paste and Black Pearls

-Non dried out Polyclad corpses give chroma mucous and Organic Polymer

-Tamed Giant polyclads cannot breed but can produce offspring by being sliced with a sword. The part sliced off will regrow into a new Polyclad. If a polyclad is sliced for a third time it will succumb and die. If a polyclad is sliced again too soon after it was recently sliced it will also die. (mutations are more likely to happen to get rid of the identical-ness)

-Polyclads grown from a part of another polyclad will always be slightly weaker from its predecessor unless it gets a mutation in a specific stat.

-To tame a Giant Polyclad, get ensnared by it first and then get successfully freed from it. Then don't get too close to it and drop it some shadow steak saute until it's fully tamed.

Moves

1. Left Click-Proboscis Stab: adds torpor and minimally lowers the target's stamina while minimally increasing the Polyclads stamina.

2. Right Click-Lethal injection: Injects toxins that slowly drains the creature's health, weakens their damage output, and drains stamina.

3. Spacebar-Defensive stance: Flattens itself reducing damage taken, Camouflages and rapidly heals

4. C-Crushing Finish: Wraps itself around the creature and crushes it dealing 25 damage every second. Can dismount players from their mounts as well so they must attack to free the creature. (Only works on things smaller than itself)
