Diet: Herbivore.
Size: Up to‭ ‬3‭ ‬meters long,‭ 1.8‭ ‬meters tall at the shoulder.‭ ‬Possibly slightly bigger.
Known locations: Australia.
Time period: Calabrian to mid/late Tarantian of the Pleistocene.
Fossil representation: Remains of hundreds of individuals making this one of the best known megafauna animals from Australia.‭ ‬Footprints and hair impressions are also known.

I know that the ARK creatures have abilities that are almost verging on magic. But this description already sounds very fanciful, like a god or a magical entity from the forest.....

Better say that in the form of this amphibious creature, it spends so much time in the water and humid, swampy areas with a lot of vegetation, that due to an evolutionary convergence, just as sloths grow algae in their fur, it developed a hyperevolution that makes it plants grow in their fur.
And from there you justify their control over the plants.

Although I would add some skills:
Ability that could convert berries in your inventory into seeds like an Iguanadon.
And that they have a seed machine gun that works with the seeds you have in your inventory.
If you have mushrooms that launch spore bombs that have different effects depending on the fungus.
That produces in your inventory a special type of special seed that when shot works like plant fruits AND that act as bolas or the net on the enemy. Or directly that can shoot furtos of plant Y and Z
And an aura of buff of plant growth in the garden and production of hognos fruits and vegetables.
And that their excrement in buckets is a fertilizer equal to or better than the pellets of the Snowy Owl.

Way to tame... It could be as a passive way, like a Moschop (in such a way that it asks you for things to compost) or a normal passive tameo with food:
Things that can ask you arranged if it were like Moschop and arranged from less to more effectiveness of domestication in normal passice taming: fiber, straw, excrement, berries, mushrooms, seeds, cactus sap, clay, sap,  rare mushrooms, rare flower, rare mushrooms, fertilizer, Pelets of snowy owl.
The other method is to cut the vegetation in their fur with a Sickle (as if it were an Ovis), and start growing plants in their fur as if it were a garden by putting water and bonus in addition to the seeds. And it will be domesticated as the plants grow.

Also that passively produces in their inventory based on what has been planted on their body: berries, vegetables, aberration mushrooms, seeds, fiber, cactus sap, sap, mushrooms and rare flowers etc. including fruits of plants Y and Z.
