buff supporter THE WOLFHOUND: man's best friend.The best buff supporter for every survivor

Suggestion

dossier_template_20230731201314.png

Reason:
The idea behind it was an animal that can accompany you from start to finish. We think Ark doesn't need another endgame animal that can do everything and is unbeatable. We want a good friend and faithful companion in all situations. And that's why he's here now: The aincent Wolfhound. Survivors best friend and best buff supporter ever! (idea by Dextro23 -> German ARK YouTuber

Dossier:

Wild:

Canis lupus familiaris has been man´s best friend for thousands of years. So I´m not surprised to find him on the Ark. The Survivors here simply call him Wolfhound. Like his relatives today, he is an extremely faithful and loyal companion who can be found almost everywhere, because of his high adaptability. Despite his size, he is nor strong enought to be ridden. However, with the right saddlebags, it turns out to be capable of carrying quite a lot of commodities.

Domesticated:

The Wolfhound has become the perfect companion for Survivors. Well trained, he can handle almost any situation.On my journey I met a master at it: His Animals were able to give him an advantage in almost any situation. Be it finding him everywhere with the help of a whistle, warning and defending him from Attackers or protecting him from heat and cold. They hunt reliably and independently in the vicinity of their owner and develop enormous strenght when it comes to defending their master from Wolves or Bears. Above all, his most outstanding ability is being exactly what he has always been. A faithful and reliable friend for all Survivors!

Buffs/Skills:
Once tamed, he is the ideal companion for every project. He is not rideable, but has saddlebags (weight reduction of 15%, from Lv15)
He give various buffs and benefits on his survivor:

"Heel":
The wolfhound gets everywhere with the help of a whistle, no matter where you are. Did you leave him in base but now need his help or skills just blow the whistle and he will find you. (the whistle is crafted in his inventory; he only listens to this whistle)

"Here I am":
At a signal with the whistle you can make him bark, which gives animals up to Carno size a lower aggro range and makes them less likely to attack.

"Attention":
Are you currently farming or taming and don't get what's happening around you? No problem: Your wolfhound is always alert and will start to rumble if an animal tries to attack you.

"Hunter":
If you hold the whistle in your hand and whistle to attack, you will see a circle radius. Anything in this area will be attacked, killed and farmed by your Wolfhound. (gains bonus of hide and meat)

"Playful":
You are traveling with your friends and you both have a wolfhound. Then enjoy the peace and watch how the two play with each other from time to time (little animation)

"Best Freind":
Whoever raised/tamed him gets a boost to defense and attack in his vicinity. On top of that, it will protect you from cold and heat. Whether in the desert or in the snow, the wolfhound at your side will always look out for your well-being.

"Territory Hunter":
Like the dogs of old time, this one is unbeatable when it comes to hunting down wolves and bears. He will gain increased defense while fighting this and his attacks will do more damage. (which also makes him an unbeatable companion for the dungeons in Ark ;)

So how do you become the proud owner of a wolfhound?

Taming is relatively easy (after all, he's supposed to be by your side from the start) All you need is grilled meat (he especially loves that)
The meat is put on an arrow and shot near the animal. (Caution: untamed, he is aggressive towards humans, although his range is quite small) When he has eaten the first piece of meat, you gain his trust and can go to him. Then just have some grilled meat on the last slot and crouch and approach him head-on. If he sits down in front of you and lets his tongue hang out, he is ready to be fed. On the other hand, if you have weapons or something similar in your hand, he will attack.

The Molossus Dog is an extinct dog breed that was popular in ancient greece and while it doesn't look like a wolfhound and more like a pit bull it could stop people from hating this submission. also as i don't think the centre is the right map for this marvellous beast and should be in more built up maps like extinction's sanctuary city or genesis 2 ❤️

As if anyone had ever been interested in the submissions whether the animal would fit on the ark in question or not. There are already animals in the game that still exist today and it takes place in the future, so it doesn't have to be primitive. There are certainly players who don't want to have a Mega OP Killer animal, but a normal one. I like the idea of such a dog in the game.

as dino said, wolfhounds still exist and the rules state that the creature has to be extinct real world

well it's not like it matters now as the vote ends in 2 days, but seriously, I do not diss this but it goes against the rules for the creature vote guidelines and the fact that the moderator is having favoritism for this is bad in itself

you could suggest it for the workshop or in general forums or something but for the creature vote, please keep it to a canine species that went extinct

Like this don’t feel very primitive honestly, maybe this would be better if it was some primitive creature cuz this just gives me dog vibes

Bro this creature vote is for the looks of the submission, we already got the direwolf the hyenadon the andrewsarchus (call it a pig if you want it looks like a dog) and they are all basically treated like dogs. Respectively this creature seems like more of a burden or a trophy creature instead of one that is actually useful for the center and the players. Similar to the troodon. And the fact that’s it’s just a dog it doesn’t give any real appeal to the prehistoric world we are playing in

You don't have to vote, but we think it belongs right here. Dogs were used by humans as early as the last Ice Age. And our wolfhound fits perfectly into Ark.
