Phosphorosaurus is a creature that I think would be awesome in ARK. I know that Mosasaurs were air-breathing animals but A. ARK's Mosasaurus doesn't need to breathe air. B. Phosphorosaurus may have been a deep-sea Mosasaur. Anyway, with all that outta the way, let's get to the Meat and Potatoes of this submission!
Phosphorosaurus will spawn in the deepest depths of The Center's oceans to really capitalize on how horrifyingly deep this map's oceans are. From afar you will only be able to see it's bright lights flashing sporadically from afar. But once you get close, it reveals itself fully and lunges! This creature is naturally aggressive but patient (and not patient in the Sarco sense, seriously why does the dossier say it's patient) and will only start chasing you once you're verrry close.
Taming this creature can really be done once you unlock SCUBA! You simply have to lead it up to the shallows and the changes in water pressure will subdue it into a docile, confused state and it will be passively tamed with Angler-Gel!
Once you have a Phosphorosaurus at your command and learn it's saddle Engram at level 63, you will soon notice it's immense speed! Even being able to outspeed the nimble Itchyosaurus! It will also be able to enter a fishing mode, if fishing your kind of thing in ARK! You won't need to use bait or a fishing rod, the Phosphorosaurus is both! Using it's bioluminescent lures this it can lure creatures up to Anglerfish in size and using a quick reaction based (albeit more forgiving) minigame like normal fishing! If you manage to lure in a huge fish, you'll certainly reap the rewards as deep-sea fish consume more valuable resources like Black Pearls, Silica Pearls and Oil! Although be warned! if your Phosphorosaurus bites off a little more than it can chew, it will enter a "bloated" state where it will be completely immobile and will not be able to be Cryo'd while it digests it's meal. This animal also has a rivalry with Anglerfish as they both compete for prey as "luring" animals. Tamed Anglerfish and Phosphorosaurus will not listen to whistles while they are close to eachother and will gain the "Rivalry" buff when near each-other in general.
Now that I've lined out it's taming and fishing mechanics, let's get onto it's attacks!
- Bite: A generic bite, not much about it
- 360 Tail Spin: A 360 Tail Swipe attack that stuns other animals for 3 seconds (doesn't dismount players)
- Camouflage: Causes the Phosphorosaurus to turn completely invisible except for it's bioluminescent lights. Lures small fish and Anglerfish towards it
- Lightshow: Causes all of Phosphorosaurus' lights to glow sporadically with varying vibrancy and order. Confuses nearby wild animals and causes them to ignore you for 15 seconds, will also stop already aggro'd animals from chasing you
- Speed Boost: Boost your speed for 7 seconds much like the Tusoteuthis.
