The Palaeosaniwa is an extinct Carnivorous species of lizard from the Late Cretaceous of North America

The species is very Similar to the modern day komodo dragon in having blade like teeth with minute serrations
These teeth would have been effective for seizing and cutting large prey items, and suggest that palaeosaniwa fed on other vertebrates, adult Palaeosaniwa would have preyed upon any of the avians and mammals from its time, small non-avian dinosaurs and the eggs and juveniles of large dinosaurs
Now for the ark version, lets make it stego sized instead, with the ability to climb like megalania but also burrow like basilisk with the bleed ability instead of venom like megalania or basilisk
And it should be able to run on two legs like the modern day dragon lizard
One of the abilities for the large version could be tracking with a forked tongue and it travels in packs of 3 to 4
If the size doesnt change from the Wikipedia estimate then they could be a shoulder pet that clings onto your back and climbs all around you while you have it
While on your back or nearby it could instead give off an AC unit like coolness a lot like Dimetrodon(again this is if it stays the size it is in wiki)
