Hello ,dear survivors!! I wanted to introduce Archaeoindris(the giant lemur) to you.Archaeoindris fontoynontii is an extinct giant lemur and the largest primate known to have evolved on Madagascar, comparable in size to a male gorilla. It belonged a family of extinct lemurs known as "sloth lemurs" (Palaeopropithecidae).Along with the other sloth lemurs ,Archaeoindris was related to the living indri ,sifakas, and wooly lemurs, as well as the recently extinct monkey lemurs(Archaeolemuridae). The genus, Archaeoindris, translates to "ancient indri-like lemur" , even though it probably became extinct recently, around 350BCE.
Behavior
Archaeoindris is thought to have been a leaf-eater (folivorous), a view supported by wear patterns on its teeth. Its fused mandibular symphyses and the likelihood of accelerated dental development suggest that it began processing fibrous foods in the mouth with thorough chewing. Its diet may also have included some fruits and seeds. Like most of the other giant lemurs, Archaeoindris is thought to have been diurnal because of its relatively small orbits, which are comparable to those of gorillas.
Size
Since its discovery, size estimates have varied from "larger than a human" to "possibly the largest primate ever".The only fossil primate that was probably larger than Archaeoindris was Gigantopithecus blacki.
Temperament
Neutral to all other creatures.Aggressive to survivors.
Wild
Ark life changed this creature a lot , this species is definitely bigger and stronger than any from fossil records.Wild Archaeoindrises usually live in small groups 2-3 lemurs and some babies. They are also good climbers and very strong creatures, they can knock out small creatures and survivors.
Domesticated
If you will manage to tame it ,you will have a good traveler ,it can carry a lot of weight, and save you against dangerous carnivores. They look very slow and heavy ,but they are actually decent runners and climbers. To ride it you need a saddle.Taming a pack of lemurs will be better, they can defend you and your creatures. The strongest lemur will be the leader of the pack ,it will get a damage boost and small damage resistance.Lemurs are also good for taming creatures ,with its powerful attack it can deal torpor to creatures. They are decent at harvesting meat and berries.
Taming
Archaeoindris can be tamed only non-violently.This oversized lemur prefers eating beetles, spiders and small lizards. To feed it you have to drag lizard's, beetle's or spider's body ,while it will be sitting and wait till it will accept it.If you will do it while it will be walking ,it will start attacking you until you will leave his territory. After it's fed, it will start trusting you and won't attack you for a little time. You have to act fast ,or it will lose confidence in you(you have like 5 minutes).Repeat till tamed. If it or one of its pack mates gets damaged the taming progress will drop to 0.
Habitat
It's habitat in : Snow biome ,Redwoods, lakes in desert and jungles.
Utility
• Ammo Thrower: Its strength gives an ability to throw ammo(Cannon balls ,Spear Bolts ,oil jars and chain bolas)the damage dealt depends on its melee damage.
• Travel: Great travel mount with its ability to scale cliff faces. The Dinopithecus also has a very good jump ability (very similar to a Ferox). It also has decent movement speed as it easily capable of defending itself against attackers.
• Battle mount: Archaeoindris is a great battle mount. It deals a lot of damage by throwing spear bolts ,its melee attack can deal some torpor (depends on melee damage). The pack leader gets a damage resistance and small damage buff.
Controls
Left mouse button/R2 - Primary Attack
Right mouse button/L2 - Powerfull attack deals higher damage ,slower ,but also deals torpor.(takes more stamina than primary attack also)
L1 - going into the turret mod (like velo)
(to change ammo you have to press on the ammo you want and then press on its saddle)
Stats for 150lvl(wild)
Damage - 170%
Health - 4000
Oxygen - 800
Weight - 800
Food - 4000
Stamina - 800
Damage
Primary attack - 35
Secondary attack - 60
Turret mode
It can be also set on a turret mode to protect your base against aggressive creature and other survivors. To do it you have to click behavior and then turn the turret mode on.It will waste ammo from its inventory ,but in turret mode it shoots slower and deals 80% less damage. Also it can take ammo from the ammo box(If there will be no ammo in its inventory).Chain Bola effect in turret mode will last 2x quicker. They will also get 2x more damage in turret mode.
Why do we need it?
• There are too many dinosaurs in this game ,so one more mammal would be useful.
• It's very balanced for pvp ,because:
1.It has lower damage than other creatures(Like mantis ,Magmasaur and some other).
2.Its stamina isn't very good and throwing attack takes like 2x more stamina than its primary attack.
3.Hard to tame.
• It can be really good for countering rhyniognathas, wyverns, quetzals, managarmrs and other creatures.
