Leptictidium - The living spy camera and hoarder

Enderbro231

Suggestion

Leptictidium adiuvare is a small shrew like mammal of a unique species too the arks, it looks alot like the vast majority of leptictidium species however is much much smaller and is much more social in nature often living in community burrows of families of 5 upwards of which they store food and other materials. They are small omnivorous creatures who love nothing more than fresh vegetables and as such have been known to steal them directly from the crop plots of tribes in some cases even destroying them earning them the title of pests and thieves, with tribes often destroying their burrows wherever they stand leading too them becoming a much rarer sight across the arks as a whole. Leptictidium can also emit high pitch calls to alert for danger and communicate with its group.

Domesticated Leptictidium adiuvare shows alot of intelligent qualities for an animal its size, for example once tamed it is fairly easy to teach a leptictidium how too move crops from crop plots into its burrow and then from the burrow into a storage device of your choosing, some tribes can even teach them how too move resources around a base even from the inventory of other tames! Due too their small size they are also the only creature in which 3 can "ride" on the back of their tamer where they work as a mobile radar system alerting of any nearby danger, one person even managed to make a specialised platform for them too sit on which added too their location range!

Abilities

1. Leptictidium adiuvare has the ability to have multiple of itself sitting on the shoulders of a player with the maximum of 3 being aloud, one on each shoulder and one on the arm of the survivor, they also grand different abilities based on the number on you, 1 leptictidium will give you a parasaur like detection ability but with a shorter range which detects creatures that are hostile towards you + players, 2 will increase this range to the distance of a parasaur while also giving you the ability to change what your leptictidiums will detect, this can be toggled between, players, players and tames, hostile dinos, max level creatures, explorer notes, dropped items and all creatures, 3 will once again increase the range beyond that of a parasaur while also giving you a slight speed buff, melee damage buff and the ability to shreik, shrieking automatically happens when a small dino (smaller than raptor) aggros on you scaring them away after which the speed buff is temporarily increased

2. Player saddle, the player saddle is a harness you can equip over your chest armour which allows for leptictidium platforms, these platforms enhance the range of the detect ability while also acting as a control system for their "Remote camera system"

3. Remote camera system, the remote camera system is a small armour piece that you can attach too a leptictidium which turns them into a mobile security camera, while active and sitting on a player saddle the leptictidium can be deployed as such that the noglin can allowing for the player too control them, in this mode you have night vision and basic detection abilities but can avoid turrets, allowing for you too place the leptictidium in a strategic spot too obseve someone's base, scout the insides of bases or gain vantage views, each leptictidium can have a camera attached giving you 3 cameras you can swap between at one time moving them around at will and recalling them all too you at a press of a button, however these cameras do have a range, beyond that you will loose signal and the leptictidium will remain where it is until you reconnect it by collecting it manually.

3. Burrows, leptictidium adiuvare live in family burrows which you can create in your base once they are tamed, give them the building materials and then craft it in their inventory, once placed leptictidium will automatically stay inside the burrow and will gain a passive heal buff while residing knside it, you can place food into it which will automatically feed them and any baby leptictidium that you breed automatically while inside, babies will only be born within the burrow, it is also the central hub for the leptictidium to transport resources from and as such has a increased spoil time for items inside it

4. Resource transport systems, leptictidium adiuvare can be told to transport resources between locations, this is done from the burrow or an individual leptictidiums inventory, by selecting the material and location you want them too take from and then selecting the destination once its inside the burrow, up too 4 different resource pathways can be constructed at a time, the leptictidium will then collect the resources from the target and place them into the burrow, and then another will take them from the burrow too the destination, these pathways can be, crops too fridges, fertiliser too crops, metal too forges, meat+berries too troughs, narcotics too vaults, spoil bags too storage. They can collect these items from storage bags on the floor, storage containers, tame inventories and crafting stations. The amount they carry at a time is based on the weight of the individual and can therefore be upgraded.

Taming method

Too tame leptictidium adiuvare you cannot face them, simply throw crops onto the floor and turn around away from them, they will then proceed too take the crops back too their burrow, once doing that a few times you will have gained the trust of the burrow and will be then able to passive tame any individual from that burrow in a normal fashion

Wild

When wild leptictidium adiuvare will run away from any player or tame it comes across running into its burrow until you've left, if a crop plot is within a certain radius of their burrow, members of the burrow will approach the crop plots and steal crops from it too feed its family, to prevent this placing a tame near them or a "training dummy" will act as a scarecrow and keep them at bay

Wild burrows

Wild leptictidium adiuvare will still have home burrows, these burrows are where the leptictidium live and store food, and as such once destroyed you can find loot inside them, everything from berries too building materials, sometimes you can even find blueprints and weapons inside them or other players loot which they've picked up and stored, once a leptictidium burrow is destroyed you cannot tame any of the individuals that were once inside it and they will become feral

Feral

Leptictidium that are feral have no home burrow and usually result when a player has destroyed their burrow, while feral leptictidium adiuvare will aimlessly wander, stealing crops and gorging themselves on them destroying all the crops they can find, this includes any crops which produce something, not plant species X, they can also catch and spread swamp fever while in a feral state, they can however also find new burrows in which they can move into and then loose the feral title

Hope everyone likes this idea, its a bit of a long shot but I've had this idea since the first vote, however my ADHD has always held me back from writing it so im very sorry about any spelling errors, thanks for reading it 😁
