  1. Submission Updated : 7/13/2023 We've expanded upon some ideas to be more informative and give the creature a more unique take while remaining true to the original idea, please give our submisssion another read and tell us what you like and give us feedback on what you think might need changes, most new informatrion can be found in the extra information section Introduction Our Small Team has been lovingly working on this ever since it was announced each map would have a creature vote, after Months Working on and waiting to the Aberration Creature Vote to Start we are excited to present our Passion Project, Introducing The Chimerarachne Yingi Dossier Artwork Credit to Gemixyy Chimerarachne Yingi Dossier: When I first laid my eyes on Chimerarachne Yingi, I wanted to nope right out of its lair. It is an arachnophobe’s nightmare, with a long, coiling tail, eight legs, and fangs from hell. After studying it from a safe distance, I found that it is an ambush predator with a rather unique Hypnosis Ability that it uses to lure in its prey. It seems almost impossible for the prey to resist the strobing, bioluminescent glow. Once in its clutches, the Chimerarachne weakens the unfortunate creature with a potent venom that is produced from a gland in its tail, and the creature finally succumbs. Chimerarachne Yingi wasn't all that large in the fossil record, so seeing it monster-sized leads me to believe that there was Genetic Tampering, or perhaps rapid evolution from this Ark's highly irradiated depths. Domesticated: Despite its terrifying appearance and behavior, Chimerarachne Yingi is invaluable as a mount to get from point A to point B. With the ability to climb almost any surface and create a zipline-like web, it is a versatile companion. It can weave a net from its strong silk, using it to entrap and carry even much larger creatures. Use Chimerarachne’s impressive jump and clinging abilities to navigate tough terrain, or utilize its hypnosis ability to help get you out of a jam. This beast is not for the faint of heart. As it turns out, these arachnids make amazing mothers despite their terrifying looks. They take care of their young, producing a substance much like mammalian milk to nourish their spiderlings (or should they be called chimeralings?). Growing chimeralings crave this substance as they grow. Rich in nutrients like protein and fat, this spider milk can be fed to carnivores to induce a healing effect, much like veggie cakes in herbivores, making it a much-coveted material. So Why this Creature? Aberration is the definition of a strange alien world, its scary and unsettling, and to go with that we present you the Chimerarachne Yingi. Lurking in the blue depths of this alien world this creature would fit perfectly into this map. but looks arent everything this beast has an ability like no other, making it a great contender in our eyes for this map. honestly aberration needs another mobility mount that can climb walls as well since the rock drake which is a late game creature is the only aberration creature that can do so on the map, and the chimerarachne will fill in that void while also not out performing the The Rock Drake's Mobility. basic attack (Bite animation) Hold Main Attack - Heavy attack that inflicts Heavy Damage (Tail Stinger Animation) Tap Secondary Attack - Toggles Climbing Hold Secondary Attack - Enters a Precision Web Shooter Mode with 3 different types - Tap Main attack while in mode to shoot - hit third attack while in web shooter mode to switch ammo type - Hold Main attack in mode while looking at netted creature to pick up creature in net - tap secondary attack to exit web shooter mode Third Attack - Hypnosis Attack Jump Button - Performs a small Jump Hold Jump Button - Performs a Powered Jump Females Produce Spider Milk used to raise Chimeralings and Heal Carnivores Can Harvest Black Pearls and Silica Pearls at a higher efficiency Saddle Doubles as Smithy, Unlocked at level 54 Chimerarachne has 60% weight reduction on Metal, Crystal, Obsidian, Black Pearls, Silica Pearls, Red/Blue/Green Gems, Oil and Stone Extra Information - Would like to Note all these are just suggestions and I don't expect the devs to use them all The Design We know the design is very far off from the original look of the creature but that is intentional and here's why Aberration has that Alien, Scary, and Creepy Factor to the Map and this extends to it's unique Creatures, so when we chose the Design we went heavy on those 3 words to keep with aberrations theme, some of you may be bothered by this but we believe that the design fits perfectly into Aberration's aesthetic, but we also kept the general features of the real world creature, as for the two big eyes which I've been asked about on the rear of it's back those are the fake eyes used for the Hypnosis, and the dossier depicts the stance it uses when using the ability, now we're aware the devs will not use the the design we chose most likely anyways but Our Artist Gemixyy has said she'd be happy and OK with it if the devs did use the design Behavoir in the Wild Adult Males tend to hang around Adult Females until they're given a Male Egg to take care of Wild Adult Females will be very agressive to one another especially when males are present and will fight eachother for mating rights and will fight to the death, this behavior doesn't translate to tamed Females Wild Juvinille Chimeralings will attempt to pounce on smaller creatures and survivors for fun as a way to practice their Hunting Skills, you can counter this with glowsticks as it will send the babies scattering from the light, the actual pouncing doesn't damage you but could distract you long enough for an adult to sneak up on you, (Note: I know Arachnophobes are really gonna hate this particular behavior and I'm Kind of sorry, but it's only a suggestion) The Size In reality this guy was rather small only 5.5 millimeters in length, yeah not really a big creature, but that hasn't stop Ark from Scaling up creatures so Our Chimerarachne will be a little smaller the the Karkinos when not including the tail Expanded Abilities information We Carefully Chose Each Ability to be strong but not over powered, some abilities are unique some are not Bite Attack - Just your Basic Standard Attack Nothing Special Tail Stinger Attack - a Heavier Attack that also inflicts Venom Damage over a short time period of time, just to add a little salt to the wound Wall Climbing Ability - just the ability to scale walls and other climable surfaces, climbing is fairly quick but it ain't winning any races against the Rock Drake Web Shooter Modes - Poison Web Bombs, Netgun, and Zipline - Poison Web Bombs deal a decent amount of damage upon impact with target and small amounts of lingering poison damage afterwards for 5 seconds (This Web Shooter Mode is used when a Chimerarachne it set to turret mode) - The zipline is just like setup with a crossbow shoot once for starting point shoot again for end point, the web zipline will last 5 minutes before decaying - Netgun allows you to net creatures wild or tamed and survivors, and it will start a 60 second timer the net decays, however unlike the netgun from genesis the chimerarachne can use it's powerful tail to pick up a netted creature or survivor for transport which will pause the timer (Note: Timer does not pause and timer is halved for enemy tamed creatures and enemy survivors, survivors can also use a sharp tool to break free of net) Chimerarachne can net and pick up any creature that the Karkinos can pick up Hypnosis Ability - This can affect Survivors and Tames, Suvivors can break free through and on screen mini game, Smaller Tames will be drawn towards the Chimerarachne but you can shoot it to break the Spider's focus on your tame, Larger Creatures will just be stunned for a few seconds, (there is a cooldown before a survivor or tame can be affect by hypnosis again) Chimerarachne can jump far distances like the Karkinos and Reaper can, and can be use to jump from wall to wall when climbing Female Chimerarachne will convert Raw Meat into Spider Milk Male Chimerarchne act as egg incubators for Chimera Eggs (This could extend to all eggs if the devs are down for such a feature) Can collect Pearls and Black Pearls at a higher efficiency like the angler can (Warning: Chimerarachne isn't the best swimmer but cannot be dismounted or stunned by jellyfish and Eels but will still take damage from those attacks) 60% weight reduction - Due to Chimerarachne's Strength it's able to carry the following Metal, Crystal, Obsidian, Black Pearls, Silica Pearls, Red/Blue/Green Gems, Oil, and Stone at a reduced weight making it a great resource Hauler, can help carry even more resources on your double ankys and crab resource runs Chimerarachne's Saddle - Doubles as a Smithy considering there is no smithy saddle on Aberration Taming Method Taming Methods are different depending on the gender of the Chimerarachne Male Method - A Wild Chimerarachne Male will be carrying a Male Chimera egg with them if they have spent some time near a female Chimerarachne, the level of the Egg is decided by the level of the male carrying the egg, to get the egg from the Chimerarachne you have to get it to use it's Hypnosis Ability on you 5 times while using a new Item called a Mirror Shield which you will use to reflect the Hypnosis right back at the Male, after 5 times the Chimerarachne will have dropped it's egg where you can run over and grab it, then you need to return to base and hatch the egg Male Chimeralings do not require Spider Milk to reach adulthood and can live off just Meat but they will not be as powerful as they would be if they got the Spider Milk Female Chimerarchne - To Obtain a Female Chimera Egg which will show you the level of the egg when looking at it, you must find one in the wild seemingly sitting there for the taking, however it's not that simple as you'll find out the the egg is firmly attached to the ground by webbing, interacting with the egg will start a battle similar to how you start the OSDs on Extinction, but instead of Waves you are going up against a very angry Chimera Mother, which Chimera Mothers are their own special non tamable variant that only spawn during this fight and she is huge compared to average Chimerarachnes, before you even see her she'll let off a blood curdling scream of Rage that will cause almost any tame of yours to run out of range of the arena now surrounding the egg which will be indicated by a radius marker, bigger creatures like Rock Drakes, Spinos, Basilisks, and Reapers won't run in fear but the Chimera Mother will stun these creatures with her Hypnosis for the duration of the fight instead before appearing, then as she appears she'll do an somewhat Cinematic Animation dropping down from above, when she lands creatures still in the arena will be thrown out by an AOE Push, Survivors are not affected by the push but if a survivor is standing where she lands they will be killed immediately, you will find that your creatures cannot be ridden or commanded by whistles for the duration of the fight as they'll be stunned or too scared to come to your aid, there are three ways to end this fight, the 1st and easiest way is to run out of the arena border which will cause the chimera mother to run off but she'll be taking the egg with her losing your chance to obtain the egg, All participating Survivors Dying would be the 2nd Option this will cause the Chimera Mother to despawn and you'll have to start over, the 3rd option it to fight and Kill the Chimera Mother, which won't be all that easy even with high quality gear as she is a sort of mini boss with a lot of health, once the fight is over your tames will no longer be scared and can be ordered and ridden again, and you will have access to the Egg which you can take home with you, don't forget to loot the spider milk from the dead chimera mother as you'll need it to raise your new female, you will also need an Adult Chimerarachne Male to incubate the female egg (Note: Cryopods cannot be used during the fight so you can't cheese it) The Lore behind the Taming Methods - Chimerarachne is Female-dominant species, therefore male offspring/eggs are cast out by the mother to be raised by the father, While she spoils her female offspring and upon "sexual maturity" females must leave their mothers territory or end up fighting her Once you have a Breeding Pair Once you have a breeding pair you'll need to give the Female Raw Meat so she can convert it to spider milk for new Chimeralings Eggs produced by the your Female will only be incubated by a Male Chimerarachne which can hold up to 6 eggs at a time and will have a UI similar to the Egg Incubator for viewing stats, mutations, and colors New Female eggs are very rare to get, You will get male eggs for the most part Q&A - Ever since we uploaded the submission we've had a few common questions so we'd like to answer them Here Q: Is this Going to be another Overpowered Bug like the Rhyniognatha? A: Short Answer is No, while Chimerarachne is significantly scaled up like the Rhyniognatha was, it does not have Overpowered Abilities like the Rhyniognatha got, Chimerarachne is a Mobility/Utility Mount with Mid Tier Combat Capabilities, further more Chimerarachne Yingi isn't meant to out preform aberration's endgame creatures like the Rock Drake, Reaper, or Basilisk. Q: Where do Chimerarchne Spawn on the Map? A: You will find them in the Blue Zone of the Map, sometimes wandering into the edges of the red and green zones. Q: Is Chimerarachne Radiation Immune? A: Yes, but there is a downside to them being exposed to Radiation, they get a debuff on damage resistance and damage output, this is mainly to make it so getting a rock Drake Egg with a Chimerarachne is still a High Risk High Reward challenge despite their wall climbing ability which is a little bit of a slower speed than the Rock Drake's wall climbing speed, we didn't want to ruin the challenge of getting your 1st drake egg completely with the addition of this creature. Q: Why should I vote for this over the other submissions? A: I can't force you to vote for My Submission and you're free to vote for the other submissions, all I can do is try to sell you on the Idea with my presentation. Q: How does the Hypnosis Ability Work? A: Basically the Hypnosis causes your screen to have an affect and you lose control of your character as the Chimerarachne draws you closer into striking distance, you can break free of the affect with an on screen mini game, when your smaller tames are affected they'll also be drawn in but you can shoot the Chimerarachne to break it's focus on your tame, your larger tames will be stunned for a few seconds, for balancing reasons there will be a cooldown before a survivor or tame can be affected by the hypnosis again. Q: Is there any Creature that is Immune to the Hypnosis? A: While nothing is Immune to the Non Tamable Chimera Mother Variant's Hypnosis, Yes Reapers, Basilisks, Gigas, Carchas, Brontos, Titanosaurs, Alphas, Bosses, and Any Water Tame is Immune are Immune to normal wild and tamed variants of the Chimerarachne Real World Information and Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chimerarachne Chimerarachne is a genus of extinct arachnids, containing a single species Chimerarachne yingi. Fossils of Chimerarachne were discovered in Burmese amber from Myanmar which dates to the mid-Cretaceous, about 100 million years ago. It is thought to be closely related to spiders, but outside any living spider clade.[1] The earliest spider fossils are from the Carboniferous, requiring at least a 170 myr ghost lineage with no fossil record. The size of the animal is quite small, being only 2.5 millimetres (0.098 in) in body length, with the tail being about 3 millimetres (0.12 in) in length. These fossils resemble spiders in having two of their key defining features: spinnerets for spinning silk, and a modified male organ on the pedipalp for transferring sperm. At the same time they retain a whip-like tail, rather like that of a whip scorpion and uraraneids. Chimerarachne is not ancestral to spiders, being much younger than the oldest spiders which are known from the Carboniferous, but it appears to be a late survivor of an extinct group which was probably very close to the origins of spiders. It suggests that there used to be spider-like animals with tails which lived alongside true spiders for at least 200 million years. 2. Wild: Much like the roll rats and ravagers of this cavernous ark sciurus volans has adapted to this environment by enlarging itself, its claws, and leg muscles to climb and jump through the caves, walls and trees.Living in the green and blue zones it seems to live solitary lives making cubby holes in the trees where it stores all three different types of gems that opon consumption changes its very nature but this behavior often puts it at odds with the roll rats. Domesticated: Once successfully tamed by throwing gems into its home and waiting for it to munch down on them it will keep its same gem eating tendencies and change color and form depending on the gem.The green gem turns into a docile but great utility animal for carrying gems especially, the blue gem turns into a defensive wall almost seeming to harden its tail with the gem material, but you would not want to face this animal when it eats its favorited gem the red gem it turns into a raging vicious fighter becoming faster, stronger, and having more stamina while upping its jumping capability and wall climbing speed. Mating: To mate these behemoth squirrel mutants you must need to feed them red gems as this will be the only way to get them to get in the mood and once the gestation period is over and its born it will require any of the 3 gems to imprint to 100 percent. passive ability:Gem harvest and gem searcher If set on wandering it will go out and fetch whatever gem you require but be careful as this could lead to confrontation with a roll rat.Its teeth will allow it to harvest any gem or hard material with ease and will garner greater amounts then an ordinary pickaxe or device and don't worry about weight it reduces the weight of gems. Art credit to my friend who doesn't play ark but draws.Unfortunately it doesn't let me add the 2 other pictures of this creature so if anyone knows how to fix that pls let me know and thank you for your attention.
  3. Introduction: Greetings, survivors! I introduce to you the ever-evolving arachnid; the Deinocroton! The foundational ideas and selling points for this arachnid include: Changing roles depending on its stage of life Skill tree with unique abilities Glow pet that can eventually be ridden Reeling harpoon mouth Ability to climb walls Deinocroton fits well with the alien and horror-esque landscape of Aberration’s deepest caverns. The map lacking a new tameable creepy crawly has been a huge missed opportunity that can be rectified with Deinocroton’s inclusion. The planned abilities and mechanics of this creature, as explained in detail later on, set it apart as potentially one of the most unique creatures ARK has ever seen. It also takes advantage of the introduction of wild baby dinosaurs into Survival Ascended. Dossier Data Common Name: Deinocroton Species: Deinocroton lumos Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Sanguivore Temperament: Adaptable Wild: “I think Deinocroton lumos is the first species on the ARKs I’ve seen that exhibits ontogenetic niche partitioning. To put that into simple terms, they fill different roles in the ecosystem depending on their age. Larvae hatch in the upper reaches of the caverns, and migrate further down the larger they get. The larvae are true parasites like normal ticks, while juveniles and adult specimens are pure ambush predators. If their victims successfully kill their attackers, they’ll explode into a pool of irradiated guts and gore. It’s almost as interesting as it is certainly horrifying to witness. Unlike the ticks of Earth, both females and males of all ages will gorge themselves on blood. They prefer creatures that produce charge, since they are seemingly unable to produce their own.” Domesticated: “Though I doubt many survivors would enjoy having this vampiric arachnid near them EVER, they do provide some very interesting uses. Like in “nature”, each phase can fill a unique role. Larvae can rest on your shoulder and be thrown to latch onto targets, while older individuals can be ridden to climb along the cave’s walls. Deinocroton grow at a rapid rate after feeding on blood and charge, and when they molt, certain parts of their body will mutate and adapt to certain conditions. Survivors may be able to directly influence their growth to become better specialized for specific purposes, whether it be supporting, attacking, or defending.” Wild: The Deinocroton can be found in all three levels of the derelict ARK’s caverns. However, each layer contains a different stage of their life cycle that gets older the deeper down you go. Phase 1: This early stage is about the size of any other glow pet, and it is found within the Green Zone. They latch onto the bodies of larger creatures like Spinos, draining their blood. They may attach to your tame, and you can get them off by hitting them. Phase 2: This middle stage is closer to the size of an Araneo, and it is found within the Blue Zone. They rest on the walls of the cave, looking on from a distance and waiting for prey to approach. Prey the size of a human or smaller is speared with a long harpoon-like structure (called a hypostome) and reeled toward them like a Bloodstalker, and you can break out in the same way. They come in different forms, so they’re unpredictable. Phase 3: This final stage is about the size of a Trike, and it is found within the Red Zone. Unlike their previous stages, these Deinocroton bury themselves underground, waiting for prey to pass over them before lunging out. Their hypostome harpoon can now drag creatures of their own size. Being pinned and distressed attracts the attention of other beasts in the depths. Individuals possess even greater variety than Phase 2. All of these stages are attracted to charge light, and will most likely ignore survivors and their tames as long as they don’t have chargelight on. They will also explode upon death, bursting into irradiated blood. Phase References: Larva (Phase 1), Nymph (Phase 2), Adult Female (Phase 3) Taming Process: Only Phase 1 and Phase 2 can be tamed. Phase 3 Deinocroton are too independent and stubborn to be convinced of human allies. Phase 1: Use aberrant variants of larger creatures as hosts, as the ticks will be lured if they’re hostless. Multiple individuals can latch on at once and suck the blood of the host creature, and will eventually tame. Managing your creature’s health is of utmost importance, as its death will cause the ticks to become disinterested and lose taming effectiveness rapidly. Phase 2: Almost identical to a Bloodstalker, though they will only accept glow pets or humans who have charged batteries on hand. Even if you don’t have these things, they will still attack you, but will not tame. Tamed: Congratulations! You’ve successfully tamed a Deinocroton! Now with this predatory parasite under your control, you’ll find that it will provide you with a swath of unique uses. Skill Tree & Evolution Mechanic: Each phase is dramatically different from the previous. All Phase 1’s are the same, while Phase 2’s and 3’s will have the option to be upgraded upon reaching those phases. A meter will slowly increase overtime and can be sped up by feeding the Deinocroton blood packs and batteries. When the meter is full, the creature is ready to molt and enter the next phase. From here, survivors can upgrade certain aspects and abilities in the style of a skill tree. Think of Evolve's evolution mechanic in the style of what Therizinosaurus, Moschops, or Troodon have. Phase 2 will begin which particular path you want to go down, while Phase 3 will focus on specializations within that class. The appearance of the individual will permanently change. Classes: Support: Upgrades charge light and resource collection. Attack: Upgrades attack strength and maneuverability. Tank: Upgrades damage resistances and lifesteal. Phase 1: Shoulder Pet Actions: Throw: When thrown off of your shoulder, it will leap through the air and latch onto a large enough target. It will start stealing their health and generating blood packs in its inventory. This also induces torpor. Charge Light: Like normal, charge light can be toggled on and off by using the “Lights!” emote. Phase 2 & 3: Mount Actions: Primary Attack (, , ): A basic bite attack. Secondary Attack (, , ): A reticle will appear, allowing the Deinocroton to aim. Press the primary attack to shoot out the hypostome harpoon and reel prey towards you. As long as the harpoon is connected, health and charge (if applicable) will be drained rapidly over time. Victims can free themselves by attacking, dealing damage to the creature. The Attack tree enhances the drain rate and range of this attack. Charge Light (Click C, , ): Charge light can be toggled on and off while on its back. Jump (Press Space, , ): A basic jump. Can attach to walls and climb. The Attack tree enhances jump height. Burrow (Phase 3 Exclusive): Like a Purlovia, the Deinocroton can hide underground and act as a living landmine. It can be set to different modes depending on what the survivor wants. Dormant: No attacking. Trap: Catch large creatures in their jaws, rendering them immobile. Explode: Explode, killing itself and others around it. Passive Abilities: (Available across all Phases) Charge Light: Like a regular glow pet, Deinocroton emits charge light, though it operates slightly differently. They can’t regenerate their own charge, and must collect it from outside sources, such as ally glow pets. The Support tree enhances charge capacity, range, and regeneration. Radiation Immunity: They are immune to radiation. Lifesteal: Like a Desmodus, Deinocroton steals health from their targets and collects blood packs as they attack. The Tank tree enhances lifesteal, and the Support tree enhances the blood pack collection. Death-splosion: Upon death, the tick will explode and deal AOE damage. The damage of the explosion scales with the amount of stored chargelight in its body and the phase it is currently in. The Tank tree enhances the damage of the explosion. Unique Breeding: Only Phase 3 Deinocrotons are able to breed, and only Phase 1’s will hatch from eggs. Once they have hatched, they can be used as tames right away. The upgraded traits of the parents do not carry down to their offspring. Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Each phase possesses a unique niche. Phase 1 can be used as a typical glow pet and as a taming tool, using the torpor quality of its blood sucking to knock large creatures unconscious. Phase 2 is the most mobile, and is one of the better traversal methods. With its ability to climb, it can grab Rock Drake eggs fairly easily, though be wary of their lower stats. Phase 3 is the strongest, and can be used as a proper battle mount. Regardless of phase, their ability to steal blood packs and their production of charge light will always be useful. Deinocroton exclusively used in PvE may run a primarily Support build. PvP: Each phase also has a distinct PvP use. Phase 1 can be used as an annoying parasite, draining health and constantly applying tick damage (hah) overtime. Players would need to remove them by attacking them, and due to their frailty, will most likely kill them. Phase 2 fills the niche of a poor man’s Bloodstalker, being an agile wall climber that can snatch riders off of their mounts. Phase 3 is the most useful, as it is the strongest and bulkiest of all. Damage reduction and survivability from a Tank build may allow it to fight on the ground. A Phase 3 buried under the ground to act as a trap or landmine to guard your base serves its own utility as well. Regardless of phase, charge light will repel tamed Reapers, and their explosions upon death will force survivors to be cautious when approaching and dispatching the ticks. Conclusion: While another arthropod recently won, being the Rhyniognatha, Deinocroton is distinct enough from it that they have little to no overlap outside of being bugs. Bloodstalker comparisons can also be drawn, with Deinocroton possibly being considered a slower and bulkier counterpart. Its abilities and versatility based on its unique mechanics provide an interesting experience for players and change up how they play the game. A giant monstrous tick glowing in the depths of Aberration is a horrifying, though fitting, sight to behold. Have fun, survivors! Art by Jadstone Written by Dynasty
  4. Overview: The xenosmilus would have a similar use to a thyla in most cases, with stats close to it, and the ability of climbing walls, which would make it useful before you can get your hands on a rock drake. The only big difference is that the xenosmilus would be able to counter reapers, with a bunch of special abilities making it useful against them (and only them, so this wouldn’t be the fifth gigakiller in a row). General abilities: Wall climbing – similar to thyla Zipline climbing – like ravagers and some other creatures Lifesteal – in reality, this sabertooth hunted by ripping parts out of its prey, so ingame, you would be able to gain back a small amount of your lost hp with each bite Radiation resistance – the special fur of the xenosmilus evolved to make it able to go into radiation zones with taking less damage than other species Reaper counter abilities: Challenger roar – a roar which would be able to force buried reapers (both tamed and wild) out of the ground Tearing bite – the xenosilus bites off the end of the reaper’s tail, making it unable to shoot poison, spin, and inject babies into survivors (for reaper queens) for a short amount of time (lorewise the reaper can rapidly heal, like axolotls, and therefore its able to regrow its missing body parts fastly) the bite would simply do more damage to other creatures Rival buff – if the xenosmilus use its special bite successfully on a reaper, then it would gain a buff, which would make it take reduced damage from reapers, and increase the xenosmilus’ attack damage against them Dossier Wild: There are some terrifying beasts lurking in the dark of these caverns. Now, I’m one of the few who studied them and lived to tell the tale. I think these cats are a somewhat bigger relatvie of the xenosmilus, the mighty ’’cookie cutter cat”. While they doesn’t seem to be the biggest threat here, they seemingly evolved to counter the owner of that title. Packs of the xenosmilus are capable of taking down reapers deep down, in the radiation zone. Domesticated: Those who manage to earn the trust of a xenosmilus, gain a level of safety while travelling in the caves, which most survivors can only dream of. This cat is nearly the only other animal apart from the rock drake, which can survive an encounter with a reaper queen or king. its hunting strategy based around removing the reaper’s most dangerous weapon, the end of its tail. The strong jaws of this sabertooth cat make it capable of doing this, however the extreme self healing ability of the reaper makes the missing part regrow quickly, so the survivors travelling with only one xenosmilus must be able to escape from the location, before the injured reaper can use its tail again. Taming: The xenosmilus would spawn in both the easier upper zones, and the dephts of aberration. However, you could only find lower level ones in the easier zones, with them requesting a different taming method than the ones deep down with the reapers around. Taming one in the easy zones would require you to wait until it hunts down something, and then guard it while the cat enjoys its meal, meaning that you have to kill or lure away other hungry predators like ravagers, which would want to steal the xenosmilus’ meal. If you are advanced enough to tame a higher level one, you would have to travel down to the dephts, and help the xenosmilus hunt down a reaper. But you have to do it without any creatures helping you (not even light pets are allowed), otherwise the xenosmilus won’t accept you proving your strenght. Utility: PvE: Since thylas don’t spawn on aberration, the xenosmilus would be a great alternative to them, with the lower level ones offering safe travel through the caves of aberration. The climbing and radiation resistance would also make the xenosmilus an excellent choice to steal rock drake eggs with, and you wouldn’t have to worry if you somehow run into a reaper while exploring, because with the special bite and buff combo you would be able to either kill low level reapers, or run away from them if your mount isn’t strong enough to take on one yet. PvP: As you probably seen from it’s abilities, the xenosmilus would be the perfect choice to counter the reapers of the enemy tribes. With the challenger roar, you could unbury hidden reapers, and either get the stored items from them, get them out of the way when they block rathole entrances, or just kill them if they were already damaged, and the enemy tried to hide them from you. The other useful ability would be the tearing bite, which would make you be able to disable the poison of the reaper, and stop your fliers from being grounded for a short time. However, you probably won’t be able to kill the reaper, because after all, you are just riding on a somewhat bigger sabertooth, and there’s a high chance that the enemy have their gigas, carchars, or even their strong rexes nearby, which would be able to kill your poor kitty with ease, as its buffs only help it against reapers. THIS HAVE BEEN POSTED ON AN OTHER PROFILE, BUT IT WAS BUGGED AND PEOPLE COULDN'T VOTE FOR IT SO I POSTED IT ON THIS PROFILE WHICH I CREATED FOR SCENARIOS LIKE THIS!!!
  5. Introducing Metriacanthosaurus Carnivore, Aggressive, Tameable, Rideable,Breedable ✅✅✅ Metriacanthosaurus, this fierce predator is known to be a clever theropod, since it is smaller than most other apex predators. However this may be the reason why Rexes have not found their way down into aberration. They truly dominate this place. Their hatred for flyers must be another reason they remain down here. Using their environment in aberration they can cleverly and effectively scale and ambush to win the most fierce of battles. They do just fine with radiation as well. Metriacanthosaurus are never seen in the open unless they’re chasing their prey they ambushed. They lurk in the most dark and masked areas full of trees and bushes waiting for the right moment. Rumors say they sometimes wait near the bases of survivors or just structures good enough to stalk in. ** How to avoid ** Metriacanthosaurus will not ambush tames bigger than a Rex. If you stare long enough where they may be hidden they will become more visible. If already attacked you will be able to dodge it when a chomp sign appears on screen. If the button is not pressed quick enough you will get snagged up by it. ** Taming ** For its taming I thought why not make it very unique while giving glow sticks more of a use. In JP they used glow sticks to direct Rexes. I decided on something similar. To tame it you must guide one out of it’s hiding spot using glow stick’s, once its out and starts running to hide you must quickly net it, which means it’ll have to be led quite far from a hiding spot. Once netted you feed it. After it breaks free it’ll go in a frenzy attacking everything around including you for 10-12sec, you must wait for it to calm down and re-enter its hiding. One fed per netting. Attacks. Standard Bite. No effects. Has a heavy bite that inflict venom to slightly heal the Metri. When near a scalable area a claw sign will appear on screen when used the metri will lunge and scale up. Roar button is instead used to set up ambush mode when near enough trees or bushes. While in ambush mode your visibility is reduced visually to players and creatures. Press bite button when a claw sign appears on screen to dash at the victim with a horrifying roar and do a heavy claw crippling and wounding the creature. Metri has observed raptors and with that has also learned how to ally itself with raptors with its roar. Appearance. Slightly smaller than a Rex but longer than Rex More slim than many Theropods Health: 990 Stamina: 500 Oxygen: 120 Food: 3000 Weight: 410 Movement: 100 Why metriacanthosaurus? I wanted to have a cool Jp reference but with differences but also a cool way to tame a new fresh new theropod with glow sticks for our new journey. First time making a submission so I hope I did the Metri some justice to make it stand out and be worthy of your votes. I believe this creature is unique in its own way from the way I built it. Any questions or suggestions i’m willing to be all ears.
