  1. Just went through the Northwest cave on the Island. I play single player, splitscreen with the wife on xbox one. We spent hours trying to figure out if we'd missed something in that cave. No loot drops, no Artifact of the Skylord. We had to go onto bloody youtube to figure out where it was supposed to spawn so we know where it's supposed to be and it's just not there. Look, I've bloody supported you guys, defended you guys, been supportive of the development process, but this is just too much. This is supposed to be a finished damned game and I can't even play it the way it's meant to be played because one of the primary elements to ascend is freaking MISSING! I'd be a whole let less angry if this game was in Beta, but as a full release!? This is just damned ridiculous! I am very glad I bought Ark in beta, because if I'd spent $60.00 on this game, I'd be absolutely livid. Sorry for the rant, but this is just so disappointing. It's like you don't even care about the folks who play single player.

  3. Okay everyone. Quick question for anyone who can answer it. I play the game on single player, primarily on The Island. I had spawned in an alpha manticore trophy because I couldn't transfer the one I earned on Scorched Earth to The Island and I really wanted it in my trophy room. Anyway, I discovered recently that it despawned/disappeared from the wall mount I placed it on. I spawned another one and placed it on another wall mount. I'm curious whether you guys have had this happen with this or other trophies in the game. If so, is it a bug isolated to the manticore trophy or a single player world, or was my trophy wall mount I originally had it on bugged out? Let me know.

An idea for PVE and SINGLE PLAYER to whom it may concern a note from a returning player, from pc to console. idk how this would work but imagine single player that ran like a normal server.. so like pokemon runs off the systems inbuilt clock some how? like I play pvp official majority of my ark time, will be returning in the next day or so , but at the same time I always like to have a single player server going. a lot of people do, so maybe if it was possible to add the option to single player preferences, and before people say nitrado servers, un official I know. in the end all I use single player for is testing out builds and building cool structures and that's it unfortunately. I would really like to play it without the pains of online sometimes. a lot of people do. it only continues when you start it up, now reason why I said pokemon before is because it runs off the systems(DS) actual inbuilt clock whether there is internet or not the cycle changes depending on IRL time. just because there are people that only paly offline due to internet or just over online. imagine if the single player could be just like a normal server for yourself so when you go to work or school your tames can die, wild dinos could attack crops grow breeding, ect! instead to pve properly you have to go online and that well we all know how that story goes. , like its sad how devs have said don't do this ect but you log into any pve server and cant build anywhere because people have either created that much lag via sinking pillars or just built unnecessarily so you cant build in like a 10km radius.. so stupid like theres no point joining ya friends on console in dedicated or non dedicated whatever it is because there is a radius like what ??? split screen there is not a radius?? because of issues like this people are forced to pay 3rd party sources like nitrado for a private server or what not... so idk just an idea of an inbuilt clock system I guess and also making it possible to do what 7 days to die does in a dedicated friends only servers but where anyone can play on it even if who ever creates it is not on and no radius.. I feel like also by doing that people will get more content out of the game in the scent there is now more options for like a safe creativity space or even private wars for fun just to name a few . like anyone see where im coming from here? if anyone has hosted a server before its not cheap really. I mean poop I used to have a server and go halves in one with a friend but its not the point, I believe these are some small things that could really improve the players experience within the core of the game itself. I feel these are some topics that never actually get spoken about. people keep screaming for MORE dinos, dlc, tlc but never anything to do with this. people are asking for more, add more dinos every month, preferably add more s+ and simple tlc mods. people say that console ark has been forgotten by the devs, it really hasn't if anything they have only really released content for PVP players on console so idk why everyone is crying. I feel like they are finally realising they haven't hit the pve market enough.. it just needs a aesthetic mods and maybe some of the cooler ones for single player to change it up, jurrasic park flyers pick you ect. some cool things here THE IDEA OF NPCS HAS BEEN THERE FOREVER. could definitely be a dramatic change within the online game itself and single player. npc shops tribes , friendlies that trade enemies that raid. but again im sure yous have a lot to deal with as it is . if this was to even be read by a dev the only thing id really cry for is the single player re vamp.. a note to the players some of these problems on ark pvp/pve us as the players are to blame. people complain about server lag but don't remove old buildings or destroy them.. forget where they have stacked pillars. you cant rely on the devs to clean your server on official, you as a player if your an alpha should be on top of that already so people should really think about topics like this before they really complain about the devs and the game . great game none the less honestly my favourite as much as I try to quit playing I cant , yous have created video game meth xD, I have put more hours in this then I have playing anything else ever.. @wildcard
  5. Single player backups Hello, I just lost a 80h play save after a crash and i'm really pissed of... After trying to recover my save, I saw that the world has it's backup files very regularly, but not the player ! And of course, I lost the player... I think it would really be useful to also backup localPlayer files in addition of world files. It think player files are even more important because the level and the dinos are really the important stuff to keep. Structures can be rebuilt. I'm looking forward a new version including this simple "almost-not-a-feature"

  7. I have an argentavis saddle that is acting as a mobile smithy. It is an apprentice saddle. It only does this on one bird. I traded the apprentice saddle for a mastercraft saddle on 2 different birds and so far only one argy seems to act as a mobile smithy when wearing the apprentice saddle. The mastercraft saddle does not act as a smithy when either bird wears it. I'm confused, do we have mobile smithy saddles for argentavis or not?
  8. Lots of people like to playthrough the storyline maps in order, but fresh start each map. It would be nice to start from level 1 before retain the memory of ascension and tek engrams. Currently there is an add experience command. So either add a remove experience command to set experience to a specific values command.
  9. Comment with your game modes/game style ideas here. I have been playing ARK for a few years but, after a few days of playing, it gets very boring and I end up not playing for months at a time. I'd like to start a discussion with ideas for new game play styles and game modes. Creating a DLC or even a completely separate game following the core of ARK (Dino taming and base building) but adding an adventure/story mode to make a more in-depth and story-rich immersive experience would be INCREDIBLE, think Pokémon/Dragon Age/The Witcher/etc.. The game would have objectives/missions and force/encourage on-ground exploration incorporating strategy rather than flying everywhere or using an overpowered mount (not fully eliminating fliers/strong mounts though), incorporate characters and villages, maybe some dynamic player choices similar to Dragon Age/The Witcher. Missions could be events such as taming certain types of dinosaurs, protecting villages from wandering, aggressive dinos/characters, selling tamed dinos to farms, fighting AI characters, following clues to hidden elements/events such as a hidden cave entrance containing an objective item/artifact, missions that require using in-game items/skills or even certain types of dinos (for example: climbing mountains using ice picks rather than mounts to retrieve dino eggs from a nest, gliders rather than mounts to get to specific goals, small/medium ground mounts rather than pteras or overpowered mounts while traveling through the forest, etc.), giving the options to recruit AI with specific skill sets and allow them to work in farm fields, rock fields, breeding pens, caves, help build structures/houses, hunt with or without you, tame with or without you, build a village ecosystem. These options would be best-suited for PVE and Single Player, while still preserving the PVP experience. As far as enhancing PVP game-play, a new game mode that would create a Tribe v Tribe war experience such as creating a natural war arena with mountains/trees/bushes/water that encourage a PVP hunting play style that focuses more on fighting instead of gathering materials and crafting items. This would be similar to a Call of Duty or Battlefield experience and can even have different modes that allow the crafting of items vs just having a loadout, incorporating mounts with options for designating mount types/specific creatures or disallowing mounts. Even having a game mode that would apply creative mode for building for, say 10 minutes, but would include a height/depth/perimeter restriction for base building and be a capture the flag type of game style. This mode would have the option to select the building materials of the base and would give a certain amount of time to build the base and then disable building when the war starts. Different options such as allowing the game host, whether it's public server ran or privately ran, to dictate the length of build mode and the length/life count of war mode would be a great enhancement. Adding this to the game would breathe new life into it and create a very large and effective new stream of revenue if executed correctly, as well as attracting a much larger player base therefore increasing the exposure/popularity of the developers for future game releases. ARK has so much potential to be at the forefront of the gaming industry if only executed properly.

I like to put all my settings as close as I can get to the online settings when they use to be: x2 exp, harvesting, and breeding weekends, but I have heard that the imprinting settings are a little messed up on offline/single player maps. So, how would I set up the imprint to be on x2?! It’s confusing the crap out of me.
  11. So I've played ark a lot and I learned I prefer single player but I get impatient and end up turning on cheats and running around with a level 1,000,000 Yutyrannus. What have other people found to be the best single player settings? Including Imprinting too because I want to delve into mutations, I work 8 hours during the week and go to school as well, I just play to relax and have fun but I still want to breed and take on bosses but I don't have days to devote to just this game. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Hello, Arkers. This is probably an unpopular opinion but it’s one I need to share, regardless. I much prefer to play Ark on single player as I get to avoid the drama of meshing, evil players and just overall bull. I feel like nerfs that happen in PVP should not affect single player. For example, the flyer nerf from a while back was a much needed addition to PVP, yet I don’t feel it was needed as much in SP. my game quickly became stale when I had to slowly traverse the map with an Argentavis just to get a wolf. I agree that it was perhaps a little too OP even for single player to have a Ptera speed Argy, but perhaps it shouldn’t have been as strong. I don’t know. I’m not a developer and I don’t know how reverting this would affect SP, but it’s how I feel nonetheless. Great work, so far, loved Ark for years and will continue to do so.
  13. I’m sure this is a known issue, but i’m posting this nonetheless, maybe in order to put a little more pressure on the devs to look into the matter. As the titel reads i have a problem with my savegame which is i can‘t access it anymore. Loading the game simply crashes it, bringing me back to the home screen... I think the actual problem is the size of the file: 22.526 kb (probably due to loads of structures all over the island). however, i played with this size for quite some time already without any performance issues so there might be other factors involved. someone had a similar problem after learning particular engrams, i just learned the industrial grinder. So my question would be if someone already found a solution/work’around to this i missed or (@devs) if there‘s going to be some patch stuff in the upcoming 2.0 addressing large save game files? thx and keep it up! mobile, ios 12.2, iphone6s 32gb
  14. So I wanted to take on the Alpha Broodmother in single player and was curious as to what stats I would need on Megatheriums to do so. I’ve beaten the beta quite a few times with a mix of rexes and Megatheriums, but it’s always a close call for a few rexes. I would like to do it with just Megatheriums to spare my boss rexes from dying, so are the following stats in the ballpark? Megatherium base stats HP 6000 Melee 350 Post leveling stats HP 20000 Melee 500 - 600 Saddles 60-70 armor and yes I have a Yutyrannus Thanks for any advice
  15. After exploring the map the revealed area resets when I load it back up. Tried multiple profiles, but it does it on all of them. Super annoying. Single player, Xbox
  16. Frequent crashes when playing SE Single Player on Xbox One. It doesn't happen when I do anything specific, just crashes. I do have custom slider settings, but I don't think that will do anything. Are there certain settings I should try, or would uninstalling and reinstalling the DLC help? Thank you in advance for any information about the problem.
  17. Hey everyone, I have been playing on single player and suddenly yesterday my taming broke. When I knock out a dinosaur the bar just doesn't move at all and I have no idea what happened. I have read some people say to go check dino food consumption but I never messed with it, and when I looked I did not even see that option on PS4. A couple things to note... Very frustrating and kinda killed the game for me for the night. And I really dont want to delete the game and re-install and lose my progress! Any suggestions? - I have never messed with the presets- I was playing on the standard settings - I also tested on various dinos including dodo's to make sure it was not a violent vs non violent tame issue
  18. Every time I log out of single player, any engrams I learned since logging in disappear from my crafting menu. My engram points are gone, and I can’t learn any new ones without them disappearing as soon as I log out. Updating the game didn’t help, updating my PS4 didn’t help, and I don’t want to restart. How do I fix this? I just want to be able to enjoy the game!
  19. Ok so I can no longer view explorer notes on single player. For some reason none of the notes are visable. I've tried clicking the locked an unlock, going through all setup and option menus and even reset my xbox. Still nothing has resolved itself. I did find another note to see if that would trigger the menus, alas it did not. Could view the note once I stumbled upon it, but it didnt show in the menu. So has anyone else had this issue? And has there been a solution found to this?
  20. Single player defeat of Rockwell (Alpha) deleted character still. Cheats have to be used for ascension.
  21. Dinosaurs being born or sitting idle sometimes are shot through foundations or ground meshing. To resolve this, store local p placement of dinosaurs and or parents on mobile. On load triggers, have dinosaurs p.z ++ when being rendered or created (baby) then resend after a second or two to drop on ground. This should also fix any other issues with falling through the world.
  22. Extinction movement issue has caused a practically no fishing targeting. Check your new code for LOS and Event Triggers which might be accessing your new p checks. Targeting is not allowing the rods to work. This is persistent after last patch.
  23. So I believe that this is a bug, I’m not completely sure. But every now and then I got stuck on a rock or a tree that’s by itself on the beach. Nothing around to get stuck on and it should be easy to escape. (Takes about 30 seconds to a minute to do so). I even get stuck on foundation when it shouldn’t do so.
  24. Just downloaded the game and all of its expansions on PC. Played on PS4 prior to this. I DO NOT know if this is a bug VS. a setting for Single Player. I started a new Single Player game on Ragnarok, and changed maybe 5 settings total. (Harvesting, dino count, etc.) When I leveled up, the Engram for the cloth clothing showed weird requirements. Meaning: the shirt and pants wanted 6 hide, while I know that it shouldn't require any hide. Only the gloves and boots need it. I tried resetting the game settings. I tried a new map, a new character, so on and so forth and the only thing that made the Engrams go back to normal was re-installing the game. Even after that, as soon as I changed the settings, it did the same exact thing where the Engram Requirement would change and would not revert. Soooo I'm re-installing for the second time. Its like changing the values of the settings changes the Engram Requirements (which it shouldn't) because on my rented server on PS4 I did the same exact thing and it never changed. The only variable here that has changed is that I'm on PC single player VS PS4 rented server. Can someone please explain this to me? I have had no luck finding the solution. Thank you!

So a while ago, back in 2017, in this Q&A (https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/articles.html/mysterious-mysteries-introducing-ark-digest-51-community-crunch-107-r581/) the devs said that an option would be added for single player and private servers to handle flyers in whichever way you prefer, either pre-nerf or post-nerf, and that was supposed to come in the Dino TLC. But dino TLC has come and gone and sadly this option hasn't been added. I only play single player and I'm eager to use an option like that (I don't like using mods). Is it still coming or was it ditched completely? Has anyone heard anything about it recently? Would be really sweet if I could get an answer from official channels! Thanks!
