  1. Eophrynus The Eophrynus is a predatory early arachnid that lived in carboniferous Europe. It was around 2.5 centimeters but my interpretation of the animal for ark would be around the size of a jerboa. In the ark world it would spawn in all the forested areas except for the Redwood, Where it will crawl on the ground among the bushes. It is a passive tame. It is tamed with a new item. The jar of ants. The jar of ants can be obtained by crafting a water jar. If the water jar is empty, it can be used on a Titanomyrma (drone or soldier) as long as its under 20 percent of its health. This will result in the Titanomyrma dissapearing and the empty jar turning into a jar of ants. With every jar of ants fed, the taming bar ofcourse goes up, until it is tamed. (When feeding a jar of ants, the jar will also disappear along with the ant. This is ofcourse not realistic but it makes the taming a little bit harder by not being able to reuse the jar and needing to craft multiple.) It is not aggressive and will run away when it notices a player. However it will attack Titanomyrma and meganeura by jumping and latching onto them and draining health. Once tamed, it can feed on spoiled meat or chitin. It can sit on the shoulder of the player. The Eophrynus can be set on a latching mode. If this mode is on (wich can be done in the settings) once it is removed from the shoulder it will be thrown by the player and any enemy player or wild/enemy tame that it hits it will latch onto. This will result in a bleeding effect that also deals torpor damage. It will un attach and return to the shoulder of its Master if it goes below half health. If it is thrown on a player it will attach to the players face. this impairs the players vision. But it can be removed similar to a leech. There is also a patrolling mode. If this is on it will wonder around and attack only wild bug animals. Since it does increased damage on bugs. Including but not limited to: the arthropleura, pulminoscorpius and araneo. This is very useful as it will keep annoying bugs away from the desired area. In this mode it can also follow and attack any nearby bugs. Now onto its main ability. In the settings there are four modes. One is the normal mode, where it will just sit on the shoulder. Two is the previously described latching and patrolling mode. The third one is the caving mode. (Not necessarily caving but it would be very useful in caves.) Once this mode is on it will act normally, until it is fed a jar of ants. After that the Eophrynus will inflict the bug reppellent effect on the player on wich it is mounted. There is a stat that can be leveled. The higher this stat is the longer the bug reppellent effect will last. this would make it very useful for caving. However there is a long cooldown for this ability that i will let the ark devs decide the length of, as i do not know what the optimal cooldown time would be. but it can also just be set on follow and aggressive, since it ofcourse does increased damage on bug creatures. (I do not own any of the pictures)
  2. Name: Fox Species: Vulpes quizhudingi Time: Pliocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Skittish to Curious Wild: Found around their Direwolf cousins, Vulpes quizhudingi is a more skittish yet curious vulpine, having survived the harshest of winters and arctic biomes. Notoriously little thieves as they steal food from unsuspecting survivors, and can make off with incomparable speed. They are extremely sought for pelt, as they can grow their fur to become warmer, but shed their fur in warmer climates. Taming: If a fox gets curious enough to walk up to a survivor, they can take advantage of the moment and feed it, though it will take off to eat before coming back for more. Repeating this process makes the fox more comfortable to be around the survivor to be petted. Domesticated: With a fox, their fluffy coats are heavily insulated and can act like a shoulder "scarf", helping struggle through the absolute zero temperatures of many arctic biomes. If fed special kibble or allowed to kill smaller animals, the fox may locate a digging spot and excavate whatever was left behind, such as weapons and armor. If your fox becomes too hot in warmer environments, you can use scissors to cut their fur down to help maintain their happiness. They are also very good at repelling smaller critters like the Microraptor and even the thieving seagulls. Like their Direwolf cousins, the Vulpes can sniff the area for loot caches. Art credit goes to PyroAnimus ARK Meta: Shoulder Insulation: In especially colder environments, the Arctic fox can keep survivors warm, depending how much its fur has grown back from a shedding. If you and your fox get too hot, be sure to cut their fur with scissors so you can still take it with you. Loot Digger: Similar to the ARK-aeology event with the fossil dig spots, when you feed foxes eggs, the fox can track random dig spots that occur around the world, eventually excavating a dog spot for the survivors to take whatever items was dug up. In PVP, the fox can really help you find loot crates buried in the ground, if chances are they are inaccessible due to many tribes taking them over, not solely relying on one specific position, making loot tracking wherever you'd like. Depending on the egg you feed the fox, from basic to large eggs, will range in whatever items your fox will dig up in quality, basic eggs to common items, large eggs to become a random chance to be an ascendant loot dig. Stealth Pouncer/Anti-Thief: Like its modern counterpart, the Vulpes can pounce on smaller creatures such as dodos, glowpets and even the Microraptor. The fox can also pounce at incoming thieving dinosaurs like the Pegomastax and Ichthyornis when you least expect it, or even stop bugs who dare come too close. Scent Tracker/Silent Alarm: Like their Direwolf cousins, they can sniff the area around for potential threats and alert the players if a large predator or another survivor is nearby. (suggestion by PyroAnimus) Duck Hunting: While it may not be able to steal fertilized eggs like an Oviraptor, Vulpes are known to hunt Hesperornis like "ducks", if it successfully pounces one, especially a female, it will gain a temporary buff to increase chances of getting a Golden egg from one. If it kills plenty more Hesperornis, it may double, possibly triple your chances of getting more golden eggs from a female. If the golden egg acquired from a Vulpes, the experience gain will last longer. Breeding: Color morphs and patterns change in foxes when you domesticate them, so does their percentage in their best loot digs affecting what you have a higher chance of acquiring. Black Marble Fox: Getting a Vulpes with a black marble coat increases higher chances of digs being armor pieces/blueprints with better quality and less cost. If fed enough eggs, a rare chance of getting a TEK armor. Silver Fox: A Vulpes with a silver coat, a high percent chance of digging weapons and tools out of the ground. If fed enough eggs, a higher chance of digging a TEK weapon. Ota Fox: This breed has a very high chance of locating fertilized egg nest in the dirt, even pull out a hidden egg from a nest where you already took one out. Could pull out two or three dragon eggs or a Deinonychus nest too. Not recommended for the Rock Drake nest. Arctic Marble Fox: This breed has an increased chance of digging up lost saddles from the ancient battles of the ARK, some are basic but some could be more upgraded. If fed enough eggs, a higher chance of digging up a TEK saddle. Cross Fox: A 1% chance of acquiring a bred cross-fox pup. Its unique and rare crossbred color morph makes this Vulpes a unique dual-chance for any randomized loot dig, being armor, saddles, weapons, tools or even a fertilized egg from a wild dinosaur or other animal. Doubles your chances and % of acquiring a golden egg from a Hesperornis. (OPTIONAL) Biome variants: Red Fox - Redwood forests, grasslands, highlands Fennec Fox - Desert, arid regions

(suggestion by PyroAnimus) (OPTIONAL) Biome variants: Red Fox - Redwood forests, grasslands, highlands Fennec Fox - Desert, arid regions

Among them, the Caihong Juji stands out like a gem. This creature, about the size of a large dog, is a spectacle of nature's artistry. Its plumage, a riot of iridescent colors, shimmers and shifts in the sunlight, a sight that never fails to take my breath away. The Caihong Juji is not just a feast for the eyes, but also a marvel of agility and grace. I've watched it swoop from tree to tree, its flight pattern similar to that of a Tapejara, if not a tad slower. This creature has metallic claws, presenting Its ability to scale sheer cliffs with the ease of a mountain goat. It is truly an astounding creature. But what really endears me to the Caihong Juji is its playful, almost impish nature. I met one, who I've since named Diva, as he slowly pulled a sparkling bracelet from my artifact bag. He was so engrossed in his mission that he didn't notice me until I was practically stepping on his paddle of a tail. With a squawk of surprise, he took off, overturning the desk, and leaving me in a fit of laughter. One day, while Diva was carrying me high above the ground, I caught a glimpse of our reflection in a still pond. For a moment, I thought I saw an angel, the glowing reds and oranges of Diva's feathers spread out like a celestial being with flaming wings. It was a sight to behold, a testament to the beauty of this creature. Despite its playful demeanor, the Caihong Juji is not one to be taken lightly. When a survivor manages to win its trust, it becomes a formidable ally. Its unique ability to create a shimmer effect with its feathers can render both the dinosaur and the survivor nearly invisible for a few precious moments - a handy trick when you need to make a swift, stealthy exit. And then there's its fascinating mating ritual. The Caihong Juji is capable of breeding with both tamed and wild dinos. The process involves the male shaking its colorful feathers and emitting a series of calls, with the female deciding whether or not to reciprocate. It's a captivating display that underscores the complexity of this creature's behaviors. In all my travels and observations, the Caihong Juji remains one of the most unique and enchanting creatures I've encountered on Ragnarok. Its blend of beauty, agility, and playful mischief, coupled with its useful abilities, makes it a truly remarkable specimen in the ARK ecosystem. As for my bracelet, I've come to accept that I'll likely never see it again. But then again, who needs jewelry when you've got a living, breathing rainbow by your side?" Wild The Caihong Juji is a medium, feathered dinosaur known for its vibrant, iridescent plumage. It is a passive creature, preferring to avoid conflict when possible. This would be the largest shoulder mount in ARK and covers the player’s entire back. It is capable of flight and can scale vertical surfaces, making it a versatile companion in the diverse environments of Ragnarok. Domesticated When equipped by a player, the Caihong Juji can fly and climb vertical surfaces, with multi-dimensional mid-air maneuverability. It also has the unique ability to shake its colorful and iridescent neck, head, and chest feathers to create a shimmer effect, refracting light around both it and the player, and producing three translucent copies around it for a few seconds. Behavior In the wild, the Caihong Juji is skittish and only approaches a player if convinced with something shiny and colorful (Gem, Electronic, Crystal, etc.). It is also capable of breeding with both tamed and wild dinos. Wild Caihong Juji spawn near ‘nests,’ highly fortified mounds which hold resources attractive to the dino. If a nest is approached, any surrounding Caihong Juji will become aggressive. Resources only drop on destruction of the nest. Appearance The Caihong Juji is a dinosaur approximately the size of a chimpanzee, with shaggy feathers and a vibrant appearance. Its head, neck, chest, and the inside of its wings display a wide range of iridescent colors, creating a captivating effect as the colors shift. The dinosaur's overall appearance is visually striking, with its colorful head and upper body contrasting against the more muted hues of its lower body and back. Color Scheme and Regions The Caihong Juji's colors can vary to any vibrant color, covering the inside of its wings, its neck, head, and chest. Its back and lower body stand in a stark contrast, presenting simple colors, which can appear in muted tones of white, brown, and black. Drops Raw Meat, Hide, any item it may have stolen from a player or picked up, these items are placed in a nest if not retrieved. Possible: Caihong Juji Feather: This could be a common drop from the Caihong Juji. Given the creature's vibrant and iridescent plumage, these feathers could be used in crafting a variety of items. For example, they could be used to craft a special set of armor that provides a stealth bonus due to the shimmering effect of the feathers. Caihong Juji Claw: Given the Caihong Juji's metallic claws, this could be a rarer drop. These claws could be used in crafting weapons or tools with a higher durability due to the metallic nature of the claws. Caihong Juji Scale: Considering the Caihong Juji's ability to scale vertical surfaces, it might have unique scales on its feet that aid in this ability. These scales could be a rare drop and used in crafting climbing gear or equipment that provides a movement speed bonus. Caihong Juji Eye: The Caihong Juji's eyes might be particularly adapted to spotting shiny objects from a distance. As a very rare drop, these could be used in crafting a unique scope or binoculars that provide a bonus to spotting distant objects or creatures. Base Stats and Growth (At LVL 1) Health: 200 Stamina: 150 Oxygen: 150 Food: 1,200 Weight: 160 Melee Damage: 20 Movement Speed: 100% Torpor: 100 Combat Despite its playful demeanor, the Caihong Juji can hold its own in a fight. Its unique ability to create a shimmer effect with its feathers can render both the dinosaur and the survivor nearly invisible for a few precious moments, providing a tactical advantage in combat. However, the Caihong Juji is not a frontline fighter. Its strength lies in its agility and stealth, making it more suited for hit-and-run tactics or for distracting enemies while other, more robust creatures deal damage. Taming The Caihong Juji is a passive tame. It is attracted to shiny and colorful objects, making it a unique challenge to attract for taming. Once tamed, it can be equipped by the player and rides on the player's back. Taming Strategy: To tame a Caihong Juji, place a shiny object in the far-right slot of your hotbar and approach the creature. When prompted, press the use key (default E) to feed it the object. Be patient, as the taming process may take some time. It's recommended to use ghillie armor to approach the Caihong Juji as it can be skittish. Utility Stealth: The Caihong Juji's unique ability to create a shimmer effect with its feathers can hide the dinosaur and the player for a few seconds, making it useful for stealthy approaches or escapes. Transport: When equipped by a player, the Caihong Juji can fly and climb vertical surfaces, similar to the Tapejara, though it is slightly slower and has slightly less stamina. This makes it a versatile transport option in the diverse environments of Ragnarok. Mate Attraction: The Caihong Juji is capable of breeding with both tamed and wild dinos, with the process involving them shaking their colorful feathers and calling out, with the female deciding whether or not to breed. This means stats can be pulled from wild dinos. Resources: Caihong Juji nests can be an extremely valuable source of more rare materials, especially in the early game. Trivia The Caihong Juji is inspired by the real dinosaur species discovered in China. Its name means "rainbow with the big crest" in Mandarin, referring to its iridescent feathers. The ARK version of Caihong Juji takes this a step further with shimmering lights. The Caihong Juji's shimmer ability involves the dino’s ability to rotate each of its feathers in order to constantly barrage an attacker with reflected light and refracted images. The shining, glowing qualities of the Caihong Juji’s feathers are due to ground up crystals or metals the dino will pepper its coat with.
  6. Hypsilophodon is a small dino that lived between 100.5 millions years ago to 145 and was found around Albian in the cretaceous Tameing method Hypsilophodon is a herbivorous dino that likes rare flowers it is a knockout tame that needs to be protected during its feed as dinos around will not like it munching on the flowers Tamed Hypsilophodon acts as a invisibility cloak shielding its user with its tail that offers heat resistance and turns the user near invisible but this comes at the cost of its hunger It will also act as a less effective guilli suit but mix with guilli it makes you near impossible to spot Were to find Hypsilophodons they are mostly found near water where they will spawn in groups of 1 to 4 but can be found near the obelisks but in smaller groups of 1 to 2 they run away like mesopithicus if you get too close It also has a turret use as a small dino buffer when it calls it invigorates small dinos to hit a bit faster and heal a lil quicker this has a 30 seconds cool down but the effect lasts 20 seconds

    Dimorphodon

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Dimorphodon Species: Dimorphodon equesica Time: Early Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: Dimorphodon Equesica is another of the island's Jekyll-and-Hyde creatures. It is normally passive, sometimes even friendly. When provoked, it becomes very aggressive, even against larger creatures it has no business fighting... often to its own fatal end. Dimorphodon can make short work of smaller opponents, however, due to its large (but lightweight) skull and teeth. Barely a meter tall, Dimorphodon should be low on the food chain, but its incredible speed and surprisingly strong bite makes it fairly dangerous, especially en masse as they tend to attack in groups. A flock of angry or hungry Dimorphodon can take down prey several times their size, so survivors should take care not to hunt near where a flock is gathered. Domesticated: Dimorphodon is one of the creatures on the island that is easily domesticated for companionship. But its use in combat is also quite clear: it will hunt in large groups to seek out enemy dino riders directly, harassing them to no end—regardless of the might of the mount upon they may be astride!

    Ichthyornis

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Ichthyornis Species: Ichthyornis piscoquus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Piscivore Temperament: Skittish Wild: Among the most vocal creatures on the island, Ichthyornis Piscoquus is actually a relatively normal seagull. Living near the beaches, it primarily eats fish, and its distinctive cries can be heard echoing over literally every beach across the island. As you might expect from a seagull, Ichthyornis will flee at the slightest provocation. Ichthyornis is an excellent fish hunter, often catching and killing small-to-medium fish in one attack. Its primary method of predation is to dive into the top layers of water and impale or bite its prey. When looking for fish,Ichthyornis will often just fly in circles over the water and wait for its next opportunity to dine. Domesticated: Ichthyornis surprised me by being a very loyal and social creature, once tamed. It likes to ride on its owner's shoulder, and bring that person treats (in the form of fish, of course) which its beak-grip enhances with extra healing vitamins. The personality of Ichthyornis reminds me of a housecat hauling a dead lizard back to its family, except bringing extra-healthy fish instead.

    Mesopithecus

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Mesopithecus Species: Mesopithecus amicufur Time: Late Miocene/Late Pliocene Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Curious Wild: Mesopithecus amicufur is an omnivorous monkey species, primarily inhabiting the island's jungles. It is smaller than a human, but can move at about the same speed. It is not normally aggressive, but small groups of Mesopithecus can be troublesome. Additionally, their curious nature means they will try to steal anything they see fall to the ground. Unlike most creatures on the island, Mesopithecus seems to actively seek out nearby humans to interact with. They are very friendly and curious, but this same playful nature means that they occasionally throw their feces at humans. Some of my tribe mates become angry at this, but I am sure this is a sign of friendly socialization. Domesticated: A common pet, Mesopithecus is very easy to keep fed. It will eat nearly anything, though it prefers fruits to meats. Mesopithecus is most often used as a social companion, as it cannot carry enough to be a beast of burden, is not large enough to be ridden, and is not particularly useful for combat. It is, however, quite effective at vocally warning of incoming intruders with copious amounts of tossed fecal matter.
