  1. Update glitch?

    After doing an Ark update today when I restarted the game, all of my items were still present and at the appropriate level but my engrams were gone going back to level 1. I have tried a hard restart and dying, none of these worked. Anyone out there have a solution?

    I don't know if something was overlooked in the last couple patches but since yesterday every time we kill meglania, we are getting titanboa venom and not meglania toxin. Please look into this.

  4. crash The Bad Stat of the game

    The Bad Stat of the game Hello Everyone, I wanted to address the bad state of the game and talk to you guys about my experiences running a server. We started a Ragnarok server 3 month ago and we where hoping the game would be ready. Now that the game was finished, it should have been a lot of fun. I do think the normal player had fun with the game and when it's running it seemed okay in the beginning. However as an admin there where a lot of painful setup problems with ASM and Ark it self. Most of the problems where related to bad or no descriptions of settings and having to find stuff on the forums all the time! We also ran in to another problem after a while. We suddenly had big performance problems with the server i had used before, we did eventually solve this by changing settings and getting a monster server that was rented for 100 Eu a month. However even with that it still ran a little janky.. This brings me to the next point, this game is riddled with bugs and strange physics. There is to many to remember them all but one of the most strange things to me is the constant desync of player placement and character placement. The issue also translate in to arrows not hitting where they should be hitting. There are tons of other bugs! We have decided to shutdown our server. You can read more here: The biggest problem however, where the bad patches the broke the game almost every weekend. It also had a bad effect on some of the mods we where using and we where only running 10 basic mods. Most notable was problems with updates to the game that effected structures plus and Offline Raid Protection 2(ORP2). It was not problems with the mods but changes to the game that then after a day would get fixed. This created a lot of fatal errors on the server and frustration as an admin! In short, this game is a horrible experience as an admin, and people always blame us for all the patch problems. I also think that performance is to bad, the game is not in a playable state atm! The turret change is not enough to fix this issues. In time hardware will become better and bugs might be fixed but for now this game is in a bad state and not worth wasting your time on!

I have not been able to play ark for almost an entire week due to the fact that whenever I try to load up a singleplayer game it either freezes before it attempts to load or attempts to load and then the screen turns black with the only visible icon being the loading bar with the text 'PrimalGameData_BP'. Please get this to Studio Wildcards attention to fix this bug as I know I am definitely not the only one to suffer from this issue (P.S. It is not because of being below system requirements as I have been able to run the game perfectly fine before about a week ago) Thhank You.
  6. WC, Everytime you publish a patch, I run the risk of my baby/jvuenile dinos dieing due to that horrendous render glitch. They have food and sit next to troughs. I've lost countless dinos now, sucking each one up because who has time to wait months for customer support. Server mates have lost their 80% matured gigas. Either fix the raptoring issue or stop patching every few hours.
  7. Still can't join servers

    What did today's almost 200 MB patch do? I still can't join servers and haven't seen anything different in the title screen. What was the patch? And when can we expect a fix for the issues joining servers?
  8. Mindwipe Tonic Re-work

    Would you guys mind reworking the mindwipe tonic patch? As of now you can only wipe once per level and when you get to max level you are stuck with the engrams you have learned unable to unlock the new dlc engrams without creating a new character first. How about adding a system where you can only mindwipe once per real life month or after a amount of time, that way you cannot wipe constantly giving the older players access to new engrams with newer ways to play and balancing out gameplay?
  9. So ever since the latest patch that opened the bit of desert area, I have been getting host connection timeouts when trying to go near that areas. This is on an unofficial server and this has never happened to me before - only after the latest patch. I have been on the borders of these new areas before the patch with no issues. Can anyone recommend a fix?

    Hello, Wild Card & Players I am going to run you threw some points that are just horrible & other things that should be done differently because the game isn't perfect by all means. I will list of all the ideas and things I see wrong with ark today that should be fix, changed, or re-thought... 1) (Fix) Baryonyx - Well I am sure you all know how horrible the Baryonyx even level 5 or 15 is depending on map, How they are in water.. I can be max level and have pretty good flak on & i have a 90% chance of dying. There water spin stun effect is so horrible and broken. I should not die by a Baryonyx that level, But guess what it happens because you cant even attack before getting stunned again. Can't move and just getting beat alive by the Baryonyx. Total garbage! (Note: The Spin Stun Attack how often it can use the attack should be lowed by 50% so it takes 50% longer for him to do another spin attack. 2) (Fix) Ichthyornis - Really my items are gone if he takes it. Anyhow that is so annoying and horrible its one of the top hated creatures in ARK. The Ichthyornis should always drop non eatable items to the ground as a item box. Not completely lost for ever. Only thing the Icthyornis should take and eat and loose that item is food items. All meats, Kibbles, Berries, Seeds, Mushrooms, Flowers, and any other consumables. PLEASE FIX THIS! 3) (Change) Platform Saddled Dino Turrets - Platform Saddled Dino's should be able to have auto turrets again that was a dumb removal back in the past. Then the game was fun. Anyhow what needs to happen is just have it limited on how many turrets you can have on a dino depending on the type of dino to no more then 4 to 5 turrets at most. That will give them dino's more war purpose again. 4) (Change) Flyer Nerf - That should have never happened the way it did either. It was a slap in the face to all the dino's that everyone worked so hard on. *This is how it should have been nerfed: Speed should be go by dino type such as Argentavis it should go by the level of the dino if you have a breed level 300 Argentavis it should go much faster then a fresh tamed level 25 Agentavis. That way it will give more meaning for the bird breeders. 5) (Fix) Ark Transferring - Obelisk should be the only place you can bring tames out & loot out of. Loot Drops should never be able to pull dino's out of & equipment. Drops should be only used for uploading or transferring a character that is it. There is no cross-ark strategy for a guy pulling 10 giga's out of his butt cheeks 50 feet from your base. 6) (Fix) Ark Transferring - Idea number two: I think there should be a limit weekly & daily how many transfers you can do. Because being the little guy and someone bringing 10 to 20 giga's out of a loot drop by your base its no chance for a smaller tribe. It's exactly what ran me off the game and why i play it so much less now & the nerfs. 7) (Change) Tek Tier - Its just lame when you have guys on the map that starting out and only have stone building & you have these guys that have Tek and they want the server for them self's... Its just lame... *Tek Tier should have been just like Primitive + a Standalone game mode with low Tek up to High End Tek. They should never put guys with sticks fighting off guys with plasma guns... Its just stupid. 8) (Fix & Change) Menu & Options Screens - I am color blind I have 45' TV and I still cant read anything unless I am 2 feet from the tv. The blue menu they changed to is really horrible choice of colors.. Layout of then menu's are fine but I cant read anything in that hexagonal looking blue menu to craft or anything... You should be able to set up the color as you choose for the menu's.. PLEASE! 9) (CHANGE) Mindwipe - The mindwipe change is horrible that mean people have to make new characters when they shouldn't have too... If you want mindwipes to have a bad effect make them loose 5 levels each mindwipe they do. To slow down the use of it, but it should be unlimited again because that's just more characters the database has to hold because people want different builds. It was dumb making mindwipe's only one use per level. Thanks for reading and hope you read my thought... Really beating at them points because they hurt the game for me and I know many others that feel the same way. Also i will try to update and add more thoughts to this post. Take care & enjoy my post.

  12. For two days, I have a connection timeout while trying to connect at my lunch time. Today, my client version is 271.12 and the server is at 271.11. In Ark Newwork Status, it states that the servers are currently upgrading to v271.11. I can see that some people are able to connect to the server (NA-PVP-NoTek-Ragnarok-CrossArk6). Is it because their game version (client) are not updated yet and they are able to connect? If it's the case, is it possible for me to rollback to a previous client version? Thank you

    Please fix the center map, whenever it rains in the redwoods everything goes purple or blue. I can't believe you release the game that has such a glitch in it

  16. ARK Patch 268.11

    Okay so is anyone else having this issue. Server patch released 268.11 Client patch released 268.11 But still can't join my server comes up with mod mismatch issues. So to test it i updated server to 268.13 and still can't join. So rolled back to 268.11 and no luck. Can someone explain why i can't join.
  17. Is the game safe yet?

    I haven't played ARK (XBOX) in a while and want to jump back in for Ragnarok, but the one thing that bugs me (pun unintended) is that I am afraid of how well the game runs now. The game is officially released now on Xbox, so I would hope that it might actually be optimized-ish now. Can I reliably play non-dedicated servers with friends now? Has the host tether been increased/ removed? Does it just run smoothly without any major annoyances.
  18. Long time I've been only a passive reader on this forum, mainly active on the Steam forums. But it seems that ARK devs are not really active on the Steam forums, so I'll post my list of bugs that I have collected over the years here. Please discuss and PRAY TO GOD the ARK devs actually read this. - I'll try to update this list every now and then, so stay tuned for more bug discoveries! - Please feel free to post your own bugs and I'll add them to the list after confirming - The list is mainly for the PC version of ARK: Survival Evolved! 1.: Auto-Jump out of water when player swims up to the beach into shallow water, completely stopping the players movement for no reason 2.: Loot crates inside unbreakable geometry (mostly fixed) 3.: OP Onycs, Pegomastax and other small creatures that can take way too many hits for how small they actually are 4.: Creatures attack and hit through walls/rocks where the rock or wall clearly should block any damage from them FIXED 5.: Action Wheel overloaded FIXED 6.: some buttons in UI have completely wrong hitboxes: - "Inventory" "Survivor Profile" "Drop all items" "use item" "Drop item" 7.: unskippable "happy about leveling up" animation, even when attacked (_YES_ I know how the workaround for this works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) 8.: inventory sorting doesnt stay (inside inventory folders) 9.: tames/pets sometimes take a very long time to react to your whistle (ie.: "follow") 10.: Quetzals broken messed up left hind leg 11.: Tames get completely stuck on other tames specially when you ride them 12.: terrible "follow me" AI, circle around you instead of slowing down and slowly follow the player 13.: -removed- 14.: terrible movement physics when running off a rock/cliff (sends you horizontally flying instead of just falling off the rock) or jumping against a tree (sends you flying sideways) FIXED 15.: Absolutely no control on which side the player unmounts a mount 16.: on some mounts the player slowly slides off a mount (mostly fixed) 17.: Redwood forest way too dark during night, even with "gamma 3" 18.: Rhino doesn't fit through a Stone Dinosaur Gateframe but it does thru a metal dinosaur gateway of the same size 19.: cannot rotate sloped roofs also can't place them on ceilings (unlike ramps) 20.: Mining Helmet: light cone is not fully synced with the players own viewport - which it actually should (being a helmet) 21.: Mining Helmet: Light way too dark 22.: pillars don't stack, they snap half inside another pillar FIXED 23.: Cant properly build because "... is obstructed" way too many build restrictions, remove! 24.: can't build ramps anymore (on high cliffs to get up there) because ceilings don't snap to ramps anymore 25.: No stone ramps are available 26.: open door prevents foundation placement in front of it 27.: huge hitbox/collision box for standing torches, cant place in a corner 28.: Terrible hitbox/collisionbox for smithy, cant place against wall 29.: Most Dinos cant side-step 30.: Cant hit dinos with most weapons that are behind a wall (like throwing a grenade down into a pit, but you dont see the enemies directly, no line of sight) It definitely should hit them, but it does no damage 31.: Flyers not landing, sometimes stay in air forever - need a land now button (or auto land, after unfollow) 32.: mating progress bar sometimes not updating (still not fully fixed) 33.: Structure snapping for many items way off (such as the adobe window frame above a door frame, you cant walk thru the door) 34.: Cant shoulder-mount Troodons? 35.: Insane freeze frames/lag spikes after transfering large amount of items 36.: Server Lag is quite insane when world saving, even on SSD 37.: Water tanks and industrial cooker don't work together 38.: Megalania incorrect socket location for egg laying or pooping 39.: Feces not fitting the size of the animal (horse, iguanadon) 40.: Weird front leg animation on brontos when they're walking around, the front legs fly all over the place 41.: Light coming off a lamp mounted on an assault rifle is way darker than that off a fabricated sniper rifle using the same light attachment 42.: cant get air while riding Tusoteuthis and visually above water (first and third person persp.) 43.: Unmounting Tusoteuthis inside the animal 44.: Lay-Egg-Buff also counts for male animals and mammals that dont lay eggs 45.: The game sometimes loses mouse focus (Fullscreen-Windowed) 46.: Dead Lightning Wyvern keeps shooting electro beam 47.: Fabricated Sniper Rifle reloading animation way off with the timing until it actually has finished reloading 48.: Wooden shield blueprint not showing durability 49.: Multiple Iced Canteens stack and makes the player freeze in the desert at 60°C (stacking intentional?) 50.: Some cooked items such as the Shadow Steak Saute make a drinking sound when consumed FIXED 51.: Last shot on the rocket launcher doesnt actually shoot a rocket 52.: Loot bags from wild bee hives stay (float) in air instead of falling down 53.: riding a Tuso and attacking something, then swimming away does a pointless 360° turn instead of just straight swimming in that direction 54.: Allosaurus bleed effect lasts longer than the tooltip shows up 55.: Crossbow doesnt work during electrical storm 56.: some explorer notes don't center when opened 57.: holding a torch, gps or something like that prevents dive bomb with griffin (that might be intentional though) 58.: Vessel (for preserving salt) makes same opening sound when closing 59.: Standing Torches or Wall Torches dont emit blue light when burning angler gel anymore FIXED 60.: Cant ESC out of Tribe Panel (might have been fixed by now) 61.: Music sometimes keeps playing after the game has loaded and player is fully ingame (joined a server) 62.: "Claiming allowed in:" not properly updating once the owner (or tribe member) comes nearby 63.: Can't see (or hear) rain from inside the houses thru windows/doors etc. 64.: Player swims slower on water surface than under water (scuba flippers) 65.: hanging onto a wall with the Thyla disables torch held in hand. Might be intentional. 66.: Riding a tame in the water, looking down and press any movement key, crouch or jump key makes the tame move forward 67.: Jumping while tames look at you, makes the tame look away for the time the player is airborne 68.: Adding a folder inside an inventory: textbox has no focus for text input (might be related to an active XBOX controller) 69.: Some aquatic animals commit suicide by trying to swim on land 70.: Can't pick up kairuku babies, but can pick up fully grown ones? Same with other babies. 71.: Can't stand on Therizinosaurus or Carnotaurus etc. but I can stand on a Megalosaurus? 72.: As of v265.xx Eggs now sometimes have no proper physics and the player has to pull them out of the dinos butts. 73.: Beaver dam fern/plant-ish stuff stretches out weirdly when looking at it from specific angles 74.: Unmounting Ankylo: player jumps abnormally far away from it, that also counts for other dinos such as the Kaprosuchus 75.: Feeding Trough makes "door opening and closing" sounds, even though it doesn't have any doors at all. 76.: Player has absolutely no control when "sliding" ontop of a stone railing or other railings or walls etc. 77.: v265.51 Eggs still falling thru the floor, even after patching this for like the fifth time now (Dimetrodon mating on stone ceiling) 78.: Damage numbers on griffins and megalania are white? (intentional?) 79.: Player sometimes doesn't auto reload crossbow, can't be triggered manually either (no server lag at this time!!!!) 80.: Training dummy pointless because it doesn't work at all (no dmg shown with rifles, arrows etc..) 81.: v265 broke the Thylacoleo climbing wall icon, it doesnt show up anymore 82.: Ragnarok: 66.3 41.9 rock has no collision 83.: Flashlight on weapons doesn't stay on when looking into inventory (same for torches where the player has to disable his torch to look at the left arm...) 84.: --DUPLICATE OF 72-- After v265 eggs sometimes get stuck inside the dino, player has to "pull them out" 85.: huge flat brush with rock texture in the middle of the ice cave at -155837 -179937 6729 (setcheatplayer 1) This looks like low-detail terrain that is still streaming from outside, even though it should be invisible from inside the cave FIXED 86.: Weird untextured brushes in the cave at -221505 -51213 27230 87.: Pulminoscorpius Egg vs Pulmonoscorpius?   20. The Tame Limit Problem

    With the latest patch on the pc we saw that platform saddles now add to the tame limit. Even without this new change, the tame limit was a little talked about problem but I am here to explain why it ruins the game and even increases lag. The tame limit is in place to limit both tribe size and lag amount. With a limit of 200 dinos, large tribes are forced to expand to other servers or form massive alliances, crushing small tribes in their path, to be able to keep all the dinos they need to compete with other tribes doing the same thing. Without a tame limit, mega tribes would be more inclined to stay on one server thus reducing overall lag and giving the little guys a fighting chance because of there not being a massive Dino pen of 40 different servers. Currently, brontos are the meta in blocking turrets. The game now is at a point where if you have enough brontos and gigas... any base can be wiped but with new changes to turrets it seems that these dinos are severely weakened and now can't compete with mega bases. If there was no tame limit, people would be able to have enough dinos to stand a fighting chance. My last point is probably the biggest and most painful, lag. The biggest causes of lag (outside of duping) are Dino movements and floating names. The names of tribe tames can be turned off but that is only a max of 200 dinos. All other allied tames still show a floating blue name thus largely contributing to lag. I won't leave you without a fix so here it is: increase the tame limit to at least 500 or remove it all together. I have made my point and hope that you agree with me <3
  21. Sorted Storage Boxes: Coming Soon?

    So I've spent the last couple weeks on playing Ark on the Primitive Plus Mod. I'm intrigued by Ragnarok when it becomes available on Console(s), but in the meantime I'm going back to the primary Mod of the Game. That said my biggest take away from Primitive Plus was the expansion of sorted storage containers. (I.E the Miners Box, Wood Storage Shed,etc.) For those unfamiliar; similar to the Bookshelf in the main game, these storage containers allow for easy bulk/organized storage. 100 item capacity; Miner's Box (Metal, Rock, Flint, Obsidian, Crystal ONLY) and Wood Shed (Wood & Thatch). This is particularly useful to Console players vs PC as it allows to players to utilize the "transfer all" function with better accuracy & less time consumption when focusing on foraging & allows for easy "visual" organization within Tribe communities vs scouring multitudes of identical vaults and storage boxes. My question for the Ark Team: ---Are there any plans to incorporate these structure(s) into the main product in an upcoming patch or in time for launch?

  23. I notice some of the smaller patches don't usually get updated in the patch notes via steam/forum/reddit I'm just curious what is being updated in game. Love that updates/patches are being done still. Just would love to get more information. I know all the devs are busy.

    There was a recent server side update with no patch notes. My hope is that it fixed the island bosses, but I really don't want another dino slaughter. Does anyone know if the island bosses are fixed on xbox?
  25. Ok, there is a certain art for giving feedback, as many of us can remember how good or bad our bosses are at it, which is usually bad. Unfortunately feedback from the public in the development of things is heavily weighted towards things that are wrong, which is natural and desired. But it requires a thick skin and can feel a bit overwhelming at times (anyone in the service industry?). So maybe I am over thinking this but I wanted to say thank you for fixing so many of the bits and pieces of the game in the latest ps4 release. I play single player and love the corpse finder option. Without tribe help, this single thing has extended the lifespan of the game immensely. The ui changes fit my screen, is easier to read, and again, although seemingly minor makes the game easier to enjoy. The cost benefit in the long term has made this and many other changes, like the helper text in the server settings space, add the polish to an already fantastic game. Thanks for being responsive and working so hard to provide a top notch entertainment experience. I look forward to what you have in store for the future. Cheers!
