  1. INTERNET CRASH

    So after the final release update, I launched the game to look for servers and it kicked my internet out, help D:
  2. (SINGLEPLAYER ON PS4) Hello, Earlier today I used playercommand Ascend2 in order to unlock Ragnarok. Upon entering Rag, I noticed that many of my skins, emotes, and hairstyles weren't in my possession. After playing for one game day, I got the Torch Sparkler Skin, is though O didn't have the achievement. Is this a bug?
  3. With the launch of the new servers, I am currently laying out a game plan in my head of what dinos I want to tame and I'm curious what others had in mind. This could vary based on the person; whether you prioritize building to level up and add structures to your land (weight and gatherer dino priority) or you prioritize meat and berry farming for baby raising (because you need those mutation otters), or even a mix of both. I'm starting off with a few other people so I'll be able to focus more on the taming and gathering while others build, but my top five (in no particular order) would be: Megaloceros: Level 30 saddle, thatch gatherer and they're super duper cute + easy to tame with bolas Equus: Level 20 saddle, portable mortar and pestle with 300 slots....will be SUPER nice when you need to make all of those narcotics (I want to set up an SE outpost for even faster meat spoilage!) just gotta get crop plot at level 15 and immediately put down carrots so that I can tame them asap! Mammoth: Level 31 saddle, effective wood and berry gatherer (until I get a better berry gatherer with higher base weight like a bronto or even a delicate-weight combo therizino) Doedicurus: Level 34 saddle, gathers stone with weight reduction for not only easier building but crafting stone structures is incredible for experience, I already have a perfect rock zone in mind for them Griffin: No saddle, incredible for the beginning levels if you can secure the arrows + narcotics---I already have an idea of how to get a few of them somewhere near the start Most of my dinos require between level 30-40, which isn't hard to reach with crafting I just had to include my gatherers of choice since I love farming (yet rot at building), but after those are obtained I will have quite a different list of priority tames ^^ So what are your selected dinos you will prioritize and why? Lemme know!
  4. I simply don't understand WC, so perhaps someone can explain to me what the hell they were thinking ???? For me the logical thing to do would have been: Announce a wipe of all existing servers ( months ago), citing the numerous duping exploits, and changing them all to cluster servers. Sure some, a lot, of players would have been pissed, and cried that WC promised no wipe, but they would have 3 to 6 months to come to grips with it and would have understood the need for such. Instead: WC is deleting servers, with a couple of days notice, where players have been putting many hours in thinking their servers might be safe with 10 to 15 player pop, and offer no support to all others. I just dont get it. Does WC want to commit suicide and piss off a good chunk of their player base ? Do they have anyone working for them with any sort of business experience / education ? As far as I understand, the driving force for any company is profit. How is alienating and pissing off a good chunk of their customers, potential future DLC buyers, and getting hundreds of negative reviews, going to increase their profits ? Am I missing or not seeing something ?
  5. The following is a plan for a large tribe. Its a draft, comments and constructive criticism are encouraged as well as hearing about your own plans. Things we can do: Trike (~1h berry tame for low lvl) Anky (~2h berry tame for low lvl) (6:30 for 150) Argent (30 min mutton for low lvl, 2h meat) Bronto (2h 30 min berry tame for low lvl) Iguanadon (2h berry tame for 150) Megatherium (2h mutton tame for 150) Direbear (2h mutton tame for 150) Moschops Dodos → pteras (lvl 38) → quetz (Best possible time: ~3h) Dodos → pteras (lvl 38) → giga (Best possible time: ~3h) (a 150 with mutton takes 3400 narcoberries over 3h time, which is very doable with a trike) (note that since the hp is so high, the risk of someone ruining it’s taming efficiency or killing it is rather low, can be starvetamed with mutton) Dilos ↘ oil → Jerky → Kibbletamed anky (citronals is chokepoint, reasonable time: ~24h) Citronals ↗ Xbows → megalosaurus → kibbletamed Theris (takes 39 megalo eggs, so chokepoint is RNG egg laying, roughly 3h active work, 2 days waiting) Scorps → kibbletamed rex (33 eggs, so once again RNG, roughly 3 days?) Mutton → direwolf (53 min tame with mutton) Raptor → mammoth (54 eggs for a 150, so all about RNG egg laying) dodos → Oviraptor (~124 eggs for a lvl 30) (or 1 giga egg if we rush giga) Pachy → Paracer (70 eggs for a 150, so RNG) Fert. Dodo Eggs → Titanboa (No taming info now) → Thyla Mutton → Thyla (225 mutton for a 150, and 7h tame) (not worth) Phiomia → Plant species X (level 36) - 100 stone, 80 wood, 60 fiber, 40 thatch each making it somewhat massproducable Auto turrets (lvl 68) - 50 cp (beaver dams, 20 poly (penguins?), 210 metal & 210 pearls - expensive but essential in base defense - question is wether to farm for them right away or get a quetz first Chitin armor (lvl 37) - 82 chitin per set makes it massproducable if we get a caveclearing dino (preferably a megatherium) Flak armor (lvl 56) - 53 metal per set - massproducable once we get a quetz/anky - too expensive to do anything except defend base with before that Resources: Oil: Central Rivers (47.5,57.5) - few nodes, earlygame South & north snow - Good amount, midgame SE/Rag - lategame Silica pearls: Central rivers - few clams, earlygame Underworld - decent amount, hard to farm due to mantas Ocean - lategame Obsidian: Skull island Lava island Tiny amount beneath floating island Tiny amount in UW Tiny amount on tropical south. XP for lvl 64: (if we use toilet/xp potion/notes it’ll be even faster) 120 explorer notes without dying 240 explorer notes with deaths between each 3231 storage boxes 1286 wooden foundations 15k wooden signs 3-32 alpha raptors (depending on lvl) (x2 if on a dino) 2 - 19 alpha carnos (depending on lvl) (x2 if on a dino) 1 - 10 alpha rexes (depending on lvl) (x2 if on a dino) 4 deathworms (x2 if on a dino) 1 alpha deathworms (x2 if on a dino) Once we have a grinder (lvl 64) we can grind wood for xp. 2 wood = 1xp so if we have a theri and quetz we’ll be able to boost a player to lvl 96 for platform saddle in no time. lvl 96 = 2167076wood ~ 22k stacks = 73 slotcaps ← a LOT of farming, should have a team constantly farming wood, and only using the wood that’s not going into the forges for xp possible starting spots: Above/in jungle cave http://imgur.com/a/1IOSd + Lots of resources (metal, crystal, beaver dams, obsidian, megalosaurus, scorpion) + Big area easily locked up with spikes at the few entrances - Not too easily defendable, especially against flyers and gigas - Close to a lot of beginner spawns Above flyer entrance to uw: http://imgur.com/a/nXDaD + Lots of resources (metal, crystal, beaver dams, obsidian) + possible dino storage in uw (can’t get them out without transmitter though) + Big area easily locked up with spikes at the only entrance - Not a skybase, but easier to defend than above jungle cave Ruins near water entrance to uw: http://imgur.com/a/qooka + Easy to defend, small entrances which denies attacks with large dinos such as gigas + Close to oil and silica pearls - Further from obsidian (Skull Island would be closest spot) - Might be a popular spot (close to a lot of beginner spawns) Redwood + Far away from everyone + Possible skybase + Close to the best metal and crystal spawns - Far away from many important dino spawns - Extremely rough start, almost essential to get flyers first Main objective A large and defendable metal base with lots of turrets and a good stock of supplies Secondary objectives Kibble dinos Farming outposts - wood/meat/fiber/berries, metal/crystal, obsidian, organic, flint, talons/element Boss rexes Start focused on rapid growth + Very fast progression, will allow for massfarming/taming within 2-3 days - Too much focus on making progress will cause the base to fall behind leaving it vulnerable for attacks during low hours first few days Step 1 Main team tames 20+ dodos Main team builds an outpost Main team tames trike Main team crafts medium crop plots and plants citronals (3+ since growth is RNG-based) Step 2 Small team 1 goes to Rag and collects hundreds of Rockarrots Main team starts collecting metal and craft tools, including tranq arrows. Small team 2 takes metal picks and goes to collect oil in the rivers (also 85+ pearls for quetz saddle) ← for jerky Small team 3 makes tranq arrows, bolas and knocks out high level pteras Step 3 Main team starts stocking up on crossbows, arrows, bolas, parachutes, flak, clubs?, Small team 1 and 3 crafts dodo kibble and tames the pteras Step 4 Small team 1 and 3 continues to tame pteras Medium team 2 starts leveling the first pteras in stamina while simultaneously wiping the Bobs, avoid major tribes but note their progress and location. If big threat discuss sending in main team to wipe them Medium team 2 also collects CP from all the beaver dam locations (using bolas! no risking the pteras) <-- continually farm it every 30 min or so Main team tames 20+ dilos (we need 32 dilo eggs once citronals are done by ~H12 depending on luck) Step 5 (needs to test if taming quetzals with pteras is plausible) Medium team 2 tames any quetz they find using the pteras <-- at least 5 man sitting at the quetz at all times Small team goes to Rag and farms mutton when the quetzals are almost done starving Step 6 (basically until citronals are done) (Medium team 1 clears south jungle cave and tames any megalosauruses and dung beetles found) ← IF main team big enough to produce the gear needed in time! Main team tames important kibble dinos (priority: scorp > kairuku > pachys > turtles) Tiny team tames lystro Main team tames Oviraptor (IF enough dodo eggs) Main team can use quetzal for taming IF supported by pteras for safety ← Requires one play over lvl 76 for saddle Main team muttontames any quetzal and giga they find Main team finds and starves high lvl anky Step 7 (roughly 10-13h in depending on luck with citronal growth) (preferably have a player lvl 80+ by now) Main team tames the anky and immediatelly starts farming metal with it and the best weightquetz (save flint) Small team makes a small and hidden sap farm (optional, probably not important enough) Small team collects more silica pearls Small team farms organic poly Main team uses metal from first few runs to craft turret boxes and make the base metal - (Charcoal -> woodfarming dino?) Main team spams plant X around base Step 8 (24h in) We should now have: Metal base with decent turret coverage Kibbletamed anky At least one quetzal A kibble farm producing kibble for: Theris, rexes, brontos, paracers, turtles and anglers
  6. Early Access pre-download?

    Hello people, I have a question if anyone can answer that would be great. So, will the full release version of the game be available for pre-download for early access players? My internet can be hit and miss and I really don't want to miss out on those first moments of game play. Also servers down for roughly 8hrs on launch day to add the new servers? Could they not do that the night before and just activate the servers again at 12:00 am rather than start then. Don't know much about comp stuff so enlighten me folks

  8. I've only had the game since the summer sale that ended on July 5th, and I've had loads of fun. But SP is getting pretty boring as it feels like it's only about 50% to 75% of the game. So many items are useless there, and some things seem impossible. I've started looking into playing on an Official server, but with the horrific ping I've just decided to chill out and mess with stuff in SP. I heard a while ago that upon release, there'll be a good amount of new servers completely seperate from the old ones. These apparently have better anti-cheat software, but what other benefits are there? Of course there's the idea of a fresh start for all, but I want to know more. I always want to learn as much as I can. Will the new servers have better ping, for example? Will they be able to run the game more fluidly? I don't have a clue, so I thought I'd ask the more experienced and knowledgeable members of the community.
  9. Pre Launch Tribe

    Hello all My names Narc and with almost 1800 hours in the game and just over a year of play I'm glad to see the option for a fresh start on launch with a new cluster. That being said I've noticed many people have stopped playing, and with mega tribes going berserk across the server many small tribes have been wiped out. With that I would like to actually find like minded individuals and small tribes that would like to move over to the new cluster together so we can secure a safe start for ourselves. Anyone who would like to join in on this idea message me here or reply to the thread I know launch seems an age away but being ready will make sure our new group can have a fun start together.     How are we a few weeks away from official release and still have people able to get under the map and wipe? This is nonsense.
  11. I don't think you realize how many larger tribes (currently on legacy servers) are already confirming their desire to switch to the new servers.... I am hoping this is not done like Ragnarok was.... please have an adequate # of servers ready for when the game "releases"...... I know you stated you would look at the numbers every three months.... but you will need to monitor this each day for the first 2-3 weeks,,,,
  12. I keep trying to launch Ark:Survival Evolved, but it keeps bringing up the Survival of the Fittest screen with the JOIN THE HUNT at the bottom and no regular game menu. I am launching with the normal ark and dont even have SOTF installed. It will also crash shooter game if i try to click the JOIN THE HUNT button or the options or exit? Anyone else? Any ideas?

    So a suggestion and a question combined really for console players as already released on PC as we know What are the chances of wildcard doing what a lot of download games do now which is allow us to download few days early as different locations diff net speeds an time zones etc et and all sorts that could have issues getting on. so allow early down load then release a patch allowing us to play it universally at same time as land will be hoarded like always on all maps by bigger tribes. Is this possible or likely and if not why
  14. Skip to 27 minutes into this interview with Ced. His swift response to the question and demeanor shows that it is quite possible for this to happen. Would be great if a dev could chime in on this so I can be redeemed for the roasting I will receive for this post. A lot of people haven't heard of this yet and still believe there will be no wipe.... I'm not one to spread misinformation, just trying to help you all be mentally prepared in case it does really happen.

  16. So, in my opinion a server wipe would be welcomed, if there were a few exceptions. First I think that players of the Ark early access deserve respect and recognition for providing the game developers with valuable feedback and critical equipment testing. This could be shown with a simple, per player lockbox. This lockbox would hold a set amount of slots for saving gear/BP/dinos or whatever your heart desires. I feel like this along with allowing the current community to enjoy 5x XP or some boost to levels would be more than enough compensation for the countless hours we have all spent grinding out resources amid bugs and glitches. There are a lot more factors that should be considered here than just the time of you and your tribe, and I am a breeder, so I know time. The games internal economy is something that we have to look at, for example with the game in its current form of transferring between servers many of the new servers would never get to experience the fun of begging for CP in chat only to be raided with spears and clubs. Another thing to consider is that every server has trash... everywhere, think of a new player spawning in and having to see some ones old pile of fecal matter in the corner of a thatch hut. This game has a lot of beauty and I personally would love to experience that from the cold, starving beginning. Just one survivors opinion.
  17. Xbox won't launch game

    This has been happening since yesterday. Everytime I start ARK it shows the screen with the girl on the raptor and guy on the sabertooth, stays there for about 20 seconds, then says, "ARK took too long to start". I have tried hard resetting, uninstalling/reinstalling, going offline, re-downloading profile, clearing cache, pulling power from brick. Absolutely nothing is working. It worked last night however after I went to "Manage Game" and deleted my data, as well as the reserved space. Now I try to do the same and it still won't launch.
