New special creature: Stalker/Hunter An idea I've had for a while now is for a new special creature like titanosaur or phoenix. Name: Unknown (Hunter/stalker) Description: Large wolf shape, bat claws, stinger/bladed tail. Wolf face with long top fangs. No fur, smooth snake scales. Cat eyes. Thin body (very simular to a ravager) Abilities: Can climb along walls like a rock drake. Night/heat vision. Ability to lock onto the scent of a creature and fallow it.(glowing scent trail) Medium distance leaps from walls. Wild AI focuses on survivors and hunts them till it or the survivor dies. Can pounce from walls like Thyla. Special ability to turn mostly transparent / dark cloudy shimmer. The creature periodically gives the prey a vision from it's POV (like your looking through the creature's eyes) to confuse, terrify and stress out the target. (kinda like a horror movie) Only hostile to the target, strays away from other survivors. Taming: The creature must be tamed by sacrificing the target's body by hand to the creature. (like feeding a fish to an otter) putting it into bloodlust mode. Then killing other creatures and luring the creature to fresh kill. Stats: Low hp (like a carno) High stamina (bear) medium melee (bronto) speed fast (saber/raptor) weight medium-low (trike or stego) Oxygen low Should be a medium-low power mount. Stronger than a ravanger, but weaker than a rock drake. Attacks: Bite (saber)Left Click, Claw swipe (gacha)Right Click, shimmer (rock drake but dark and cloudy)C button, Rock Drake type climbing (shift), thyla like pounce (left click) while on a wall, Last creature bite leaves a scent trail in the form of a cloud. Debuff when near others of it's kind.(reverse alpha buff) It's a solo only creature. Habitat: Underground caves, aberration, cliff walls. Dark areas like ruins/caves. Diet: Meat Behavior: Hunter but will scavenge kills from other creatures, sometimes even stealing them to eat later. I know it's a mishmash of other creatures abilities but would make it easier to implement. Bonus if the devs could add notes from past survivors who where hunted detailing the terror they felt while being stalked. Maybe even when killed could drop gear stolen from it's last kill?
So I've been playing singleplayer on the Island, fighting bosses, getting tek tier, etc, but I've run into a rather crippling issue. While retrieving artifacts in preparation for fighting the Beta Dragon, I noticed the Artifact of the Skylord does not appear in its corresponding cave. I have searched all around, ghosted through the walls and ceilings, waited for hours, turned off the singleplayer option, and started the world as a non-dedicated session. The artifact drop doesn't show up. I had hoped today's patch would fix this, but sadly it hasn't. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Thank you. Edit: I have also noticed that the artifact drop for the Artifact of the Hunter shows up but doesn't contain the artifact itself, only the blueprint to build the tek replicator. 2-23-18: Just checked Skylord cave cause I figured maybe they fixed it. It still isn't there.
Common Name: Direwolf Species: Canis Maxdirus Time: Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: The best adjective to describe Canis Maxdirus is "scary". This pack-hunter is a cunning and brutal predator, capable of taking down prey of nearly any size. In addition to being a vicious hunter, it is the size of a small horse, meaning even the largest predators aren't necessarily safe from the packs. The species has an incredible affinity for teamwork. Unlike most creatures on the island, Canis is a dedicated pack hunter, and rarely hunts alone. In fact, Canis is naturally as effective with its packmates as most creatures are when their mate is in danger—when in a pack, they are naturally spurred to fight for their lives. Furthermore, when in a pack, the most experienced Canis will be designated "Alpha" and gain an even stronger enhancement. Domesticated: Obviously, Canis is an amazing battle mount. It is fairly fast, very strong, and agile. It can jump almost as well as the Island's battle cats. Riding a supercharged "Alpha" Canis into battle at the head of a bloodthirsty pack is a thrill for which most warriors would gladly proclaim: "Today is a good day to die!"
