INTRODUCING THE EPIC........ DEINOCHEIRUS THE AUGMENTED CORRUPTED DINO DESTROYER AND DEFENDER. Perfect for taking on OSDs, element veins and gathering element Concept by me, Art by my friend Agnes and me ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello fellow ARK players! I am excited to present the Deinocheirus! I am sorry about the humongous amounts of text, but I want to explain this concept as good as possible. I have a section where I answer some questions about this creature further down in this submission! Anyway. Instead of the many other fish gatherer versions of this, I thought it would be cool to have a defender dino. Capable of supporting your dinos in any battle, or just being a powerhouse on its own. Hopefully you dont think its too OP, please excuse me if so. Deinocheirus means “Terrible hand” so I thought designing this creature around its powerful arms would fit perfectly, and since extinction have some creatures that have been changed by the element, then why cant this beast be it too? Please, hear me out 😀 A pair of mighty Deinocheirus arms (From National Geographic). Dossier Wild Standing the same height as a Rex, this is definitely the regions most deadly creature, so don't let the Deinocheirus beak fool you for its capability to deal damage. As its colossal arms, augmented by element, will pack quite a punch to anything foolish enough to approach it. Because if you do, the Deinocheirus can extend its arms for greater reach and damage, using the element augmentation, and even reshape its arms to great wings which it can use to glide swiftly through the air to catch you… Domesticated If you’re able to tame this mighty beast, you’ll find yourself an exemplary mount to traverse the barren wastes, as The Deinocheirus deals increased damage to corrupted creatures and can extract element more efficiently from Tek creatures. Their augmented arms make quick work of almost any attacker. Their ability to reach and push away enemies attacking supply drops or element veins makes it an easy task. Even their ability to guard the rider makes this one of the most prominent mounts a survivor can have. But they are slow and bulky, But what they loose in speed they make up for in strength. I have seen survivors fighting hordes of the corrupted with ease with these things, taking home all kinds of amazing treasures they found in the wasteland, mainly element. But also amazing loot from the supply drops that fall from Earths orbit. The most remarkable thing was that the rider and the creature didn't have a single scratch on them. NATURE After years of evolution and being exposed to elements volatile abilities, has caused it to fuse to the Deinocheirus gigantic arms, thus making element dust one of its main nutrients. But also giving it more abilities. Mainly the ability to reshape its arms into things it can use depending on the situation. The Deinocheirus is a neutral creature, and will only attack if threatened. They roam the watery trenches and pools of the sanctuary, and in the outskirts of the wasteland, looking for food and element dust in the water and also Tek/corrupted creatures to feast on their element. If you try to observe it with a scout, then the Deinocheirus will become aggravated, and try to eat it and consume the element inside. Abilities Passive It has increased element dust gathering from TEK creatures. (Like defense units, enforcers, scouts, and TEK creatures like a TEK parasaur) Increased element gains from element veins COLOSSAL extra damage against corrupted creatures It can turn around on the spot, like a Sarco or Beelzebufo Deals more damage to MEKs, which gives it a role in pvp as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Element mode This is a state which the Deinocheirus can enter to gain access to its core abilities, this will cost element dust, and then it will slowly drain the dust from your inventory over time. In this state your normal attacks will have unique animations and do slightly more damage and range, and deal increased knockback. Your arms will become more flexible almost (and a lot of almost, absolutely not as serious as in the video) like the Kos parasite from Bloodborne Kos Parasite Moveset. Extended Ground slam (Element mode) The Deinocheirus can grow its arms for extended reach and damage, which will damage a large area in front of you. This can, as an example, be used to damage a swarm of corrupted creatures in front of you, or catch a creature running away from you. This attack is used by holding and releasing the button, the range of the slam depends on how long you press it. In addition you can press the button once to do a normal slam which will affect an area around the Deinocheirus Super Jump (Element mode) Increase the size of your arms that you place onto the ground and charge a gigantic leap vertically into the air. This can be used as an escape or to traverse the barren wasteland of extinction. Also when you leave the ground, the enemies below will be stunned, much like a snow owl divebomb. In addition, you can use the the ground slam, which will have more AOE when used after the jump. This ability has a short cooldown, and you can charge it even when you’re attacked. Defense roar (can be activated during both modes) Perform an extremely mighty roar (loud and epic), which will give increased defense to nearby tames, and startle attackers, causing them to stop attacking your tames for a short period. Works very well when using other creatures with you during OSD and Element nodes. This ability has a cooldown. Glide (Element mode) The Deinocheirus have finally achieved its dream to fly, now that its “little chicken” wings are made from element. When you’re in the air you can extend and grow your wings to glide gracefully across the air. Similar to a parachute. This can be used for travel, and also to escape. Element Guard (Element mode) Transform the arms in to a forward facing shield which gives damage negation. This can be used if you’re taking excessive damage. You can also attack in this state if you want to push enemies away from a location and temporarily stun them (I intend that this is a pretty large area, so it is more useful and does not just push away one target). This is perfect when a powerful creature is attacking an orbital supply drop or element node and you don't want it to break. Inspired by Dark souls 3 Epic Giant door shield. Uppercut grab (Element mode) Thrust your claws in the air and grab a creature or player above you and slam them to the ground. which gives the Deinocheirus a way to deal with creatures or players in the air. This will be perfect for the corrupted pteranodons and the corrupted wyverns in orbital supply drops and element nodes, especially when you cant really hit them, then you can grab them instead and throw them in front of you, giving you a moment to damage it. Corrupted burst Consume a corrupted heart to gain a 25 second boost of increased damage, attack speed, and range. Your arms will grow to about 3x larger, and the blue veins will turn purple. In this state you cant enter or leave the element mode, depending on which state you activated this in. Almost like going super saiyan. But after 25 seconds you will have a duration of exhaustion, which will leave you vulnerable to attacks. This ability is used to get out of tight situations, like when you’re about to die, and you need to kill everything around you. A very high risk high reward ability. This ability will have a cooldown. Almost like this TAMING The player will first need to find a Deinocheirus, which they will in the trench in the sanctuary, or in the outskirts of the sanctuary, right between the border of the wasteland. First step you need to do is cover yourself in element dust. Which you do by placing the element dust in your hotbar and “equip it”. This will cover you in element dust, and it will also make the Deinocheirus smell and notice you. Scary right? Once it has noticed you, it will start smelling you. BUT, if you move during this process, its gonna think you’re a Tek creature or a corrupted creature, and it will see you as hostile, and start attacking. Therefore its important to stand still. Once it has smelled you it will take a hold of you and start absorbing the element from your inventory (You will need a lot, especially for high level ones). Make sure you have brought enough element though. Because if you run out of element dust, shards or pure element. Then it will throw you away, and get angry at you, lower taming effectiveness. Element dust will give the lowest amount of taming percentage, following with element shards, and then pure element, which will give the most amount of taming percentage. You will also need to refresh the element dust coating on your character, because if it would run out, the Deinocheirus will see you as hostile. There will be a meter inthe bottom right corner of your screen which shows how much there is left of your coating, giving the taming process a little bit more engagement If you succeed in coating yourself and have enough element, the Deinocheirus will be yours, your very own corrupted creature slaying machine. Questions What happens if i run out element dust while im in element mode? You will return to the standard “mode”, BUT only after a short delay. This will make it more comfortable, especially if you’re in the air, then you will be able to land before you leave element mode. My Giga or Carch does more damage than the Deinocheirus, isn't it useless for OSD’s and element nodes? No, even though your Giga or Carch might do more damage, the Deinocheirus will be able to push away and stun creatures and also give defensive buffs. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, you will be able to harvest more element from element nodes, there are no other creatures that can do this. You will be able to harvest the element with the Deinocheirus in its standard state. Isn't this extremely unrealistic? Both yes and no. BUT there are many other creatures that are unrealistic such as the Amargasaurus, which can shoot hot and cold spikes out of its neck… like what…? Also in a world with mysterious substances such as element, that literally corrupts and changes creatures, such as the Managarmr or Snow owl. Then why cant the element have changed this creatures abilities? I believe this just fits the aesthetic of the map more. This wouldn't have worked for, lets say, the island. There are no other element afflicted creatures. Can I run out of stamina in corrupted burst or element mode? In corrupt burst mode you will not run out of stamina during its duration, only when the 25 second buff runs out, after that you will get an exhaustion debuff, which will be a subtle decrease to stamina recovery, until the stamina bar is full. In element mode you can run out of stamina like any other creature. Doesn't this sound very overpowered? The Deinocheirus is meant to be a powerful creature, but it also has its drawbacks. First of all it is supposed to be be slow. Second of all, the creature “cost” element dust to use its “cool” abilities. Otherwise it would be completely broken, not everything cool can be free Why it should be added to Extinction A horrible 3D model and render by me 😀 The Deinocheirus will not only bring more life to Extinction, but it will also give players another option to destroy the corrupted dangers of the barren wasteland. The Deinocheirus will usher the players of Extinction in more ways to defend yourself, your base and your creatures, with its guarding abilities, increased knockback and its ability to stop attackers from attacking your tames. This, combined with its ability to harvest element from element nodes will benefit both PVP, and PVE. Doesn't the defending part satisfy you, then the amazing corrupted burst mode will, with its mighty power you will be able to destroy anything that might stand in your path. Soar through the air with its ability to jump, and glide with your gigantic reshaped wings. The Deinocheirus will make a fun, unique and immersive tame which will shake up the gameplay of Extinction and bring OSD and element veins more flare and excitement. (Quick note, it also would fit because it is afflicted with element, like many other creatures on the map) The Deinocheirus is a long overdue addition to ark, I am surprised it hasn't been added yet! Now it has the chance to get added, cooler and bigger than ever! This creature may seem complex, but I promise that its much more simpler once you’ve ridden on it. …If anything seems to OP or complex, or if you don't understand the reasoning, then tell me!I will gladly answer to feedback and suggestions. It’s called the BLUE DRAGON but it’s scientific name is glaucus atlanticus. A water land and gliding tame used to assist with taming other water Dino’s and being used as a underbelly water turret. ABILITIES The Blue Dragon can go stealth and swim up to other water Dinos and attach itself to it tranqing the water Dino.While attached you have to press the buttons it tells you to stay attached. For getting around it’s a standard speed in the water but if you go to the surface and skim the water it gains speed when you get enough speed you can perform a jump and glide in the air. because technically these are water slugs they have the ability to attach themselves to walls in water or out of water and climb them similar to a rock drake. If outta water it will have use the oxygen stat, but it can travel on land but not quick. They are also good to get around in shallow waters like swamps and rivers. For the dark deep see dives it has a bioluminescence that runs through its body that can be used if you give it a charge battery allowing it to glow. ATTACK AND DEFENSE For attacks it has a bite attack which is venomous being that they are venomous and sting in real life like a man o war. They also have a stun ability like the electric eels, but in order to use it you need to have the toxins you harvest from the jellyfish. The electric shock will allow you to stun and swim away. PVP ABILITY Being that the blue sea dragon can attach itself to surfaces it has the ability to attach to the underbelly of another water tame and act as a turret nest as in one person controls and rides the megalodon and if you attach it, it allows you to sit on the dragon and use a crossbow or a harpoon. TAMING The blue sea dragon Is a passive tame, you will have to swim up to it and feed it bio toxins once done it will allow you to mount it and basically like the equus you have to ride it. The tame will go to the surface and when it jumps and glides you need to hit the corresponding buttons it tells you to press. Depending on the level you will have to do this once or multiple times. FOOD Food will be just standard fish. Toxins placed in there inventory will be used forelectrical stun and tranqing. MATING Mating is standard. LOCATION Since the submission is for the center map I’m thinking that you can find them near the waterfalls gliding down to the water. SIZE The average size of the blue sea dragon would be a little smaller than a megalodon or the size of three grown adults. SADDLES saddles will be mounted on the center of there back’s between the front and back fins. There are two saddles one that allows you to ride and use its ability and a tek saddle that has an attached turret that can be used when attached to the underbelly of another tame. WILD Deriodoptis is a mid sice creature that likes to hang on cliffs in small groups ,so if one of them sees you everyone will attack you! The Deriodoptis can climb, glide , grab you while glideing and deal bleedingdamage. TAMEING If you want to tame the Deriodoptis you will have to throw shoulder pets at him , he will grab them and eat them thats how you tame him . You can give him every shoulder pet but shoulder pets that glow like the (Bulbdog) gives him more percent. ATTACKS LMB:(Claw attack (fast / low damage) RMB:(Bite attack(slow/ strong bleeding damage) C-Button:(Grab/ it only works while glideing)

Disclaimer Hello everyone! This is my first time posting an ark creature for the vote. I now present to you the Eophyllium the Mighty Leaf Insect. Eophyllium is an extinct monotypic genus of the Phasmatodea, a type of insect ancestral to the modern Phylliidae. These insects mimic the shape of leaves for camouflage, with a single species, Eophyllium messelensis Since aberration is a non-flyer map and rich in different types of creatures, I came up with a unique creature that doesn’t exist in ark, yet, which is a camouflaging leaf insect. I got bored of big lizards that can rival gigas with super OP abilities and ark need more diverse and unique, so I came up with a unique creature that can fit very well in the aberration map considering the environment and the creatures that inhabit the biome. Basic Info Common Name: Mighty Leaf Insect Species: Eophyllium Messelensis Time: Eocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Eophyllium Messelensis is an oversized leaf insect that has adapted to the harsh environment it lives in. It mostly lives in the fertile region but sometimes can be found in the Bio Luminescence region too. Because of this, the Eophyllium’s adapted to the area and developed new abilities like multi-coloured glowing body to emit some light in darkness using leaf branch like veins and able to climb surface of rocks. Females can’t fly but can camouflage according to the environment. Males have forewings, can camouflage, spread its wings to glide and latch on to surfaces, glowing forewings with leaf branch like veins. Its active camouflage helps it to stalk its enemies or to flee from them undetected. Eophyllium’s strongly dislike nameless and reapers and will become aggressive upon seeing them. Domesticated: Aside from its camouflaged ability, tamed Eophylliums that consumed mushrooms can spread a gas around itself, deals an Area of Effect that damage, immune to radiation, hydration or healing depends on the mushroom consumed. These mighty leaf insects can also switch places with dinos whether it's an ally dino or enemy dino. Riders of Eophylliums can Camouflage to blend with structures along with them. Behaviour: Found mainly in the fertile region and sometimes in the bio-luminescent region. They are not aggressive to humans but will attack if provoked or upon stealing their eggs. They are very aggressive towards rock drakes, reapers and nameless. Eophylliums are very difficult to be spotted and if spotted near the area one must not disturb them at any cost. Females are unable to glide but males can glide using their forewings. Appearance: Eophylliums are large creatures with similar size as the Rock Drakes. Female (multicoloured veins across its body) male (multicoloured veins across its body, forewings and antennas), which emits some light. They can glow in the dark with their leaf branch like veins. In their camouflaged state, one can see them blended with the texture it's in to identify them. They can't glow when they're in their camouflaged state. Females are slightly larger than males. Utility Abilities: Camouflage: [C] - To toggle camouflage on/off Primary Attack: - Upon clicking or holding the left mouse button, Eophylliums will use simple bite that deal decent amount of damage Secondary Attack: Upon clicking or holding the right mouse button, the Eophyllium will uses both hands to rapidly slashes its enemy few times. They can also use weapons such as Stone Pick, Stone Hatchet, Metal Sickle, Wooden Club and sword with its hands to attack its enemy or to farm resources. They can also wield a torch to navigate darkness as their glowing body is not bright enough to emit strong light source. Jump: [Spacebar] - Female Eophylliums can jump from ledges to ledges while males can jump and glide to certain distance using its forewings. Passive - Reduced Fall Damage - Eophylliums takes little to no fall damage. They're able to fall from great heights without sustaining much injury thanks to their strong supporting legs and light weight body. Special Attack: [X] - Upon clicking and holding the “X” button, a round cursor will appear in the middle of the screen which can only be used on dinos. The ability is where the Eophyllium can switch its place with any dino the cursor points at. It can be used to flee from enemy or can be helpful when fighting. Special Attacks and Abilities Mushrooms acts as a boost for the Eophylliums (Mushrooms needed) Special Attack: [Z] - Upon consuming certain mushrooms, Eophylliums create a special gas around itself which have special abilities depends on the mushroom consumed. The mushrooms need to be in the inventory of the leaf insect to use its special abilities. Auric Mushroom Reduces radiation damages and immune to radiation sickness Ascerbic Mushroom Releases narcotic gas that increase topor of enemy dinos ( ifthe enemy dino is near the leaf insect, will increase its topor) Provide immunity to element biome Aquatic Mushroom Releases mist gas that hydrate player and immune to poison Aggeravic Mushroom Creates healing gas that heals player, itself and nearby allied dinos Advantages Regeneration (Aggeravic mushroom) Immune to radiation (Auric mushroom) Narcotic gas that increases topor of enemy dinos (Ascerbic mushroom) Hydration (Aquatic mushroom) Riders of Eophylliums can Camouflage along with them Able to wield weapons with hands for fighting or for farming (using Stone Pick, Stone Hatchet, Metal Sickle, Wooden Club, Sword and Torch) Able to switch places with enemy and allied dinos x 2 for farming Aggeravic, Auric, Ascerbic, Aquatic mushrooms Increased spoil time for mushrooms in inventory (3 hours) Resource gatherer (using Stone Pick, Stone Hatchet, Metal Sickle) - 20% for (Stone, Metal, Obsidian) Can climb wall Males can glide using forewings Egg thief Disadvantages Females unable to fly, only way of escaping is Camouflage or switching places They can only switch places with dinos in a certain radius. If the dino is too far away from their switchable radius, the ability will not work. Switching ability doesn’t work on bosses Despite the aggressiveness, they are slightly weaker than Reapers in combat. Even when camouflaged, nameless and reapers still spots them easily Eophylliums have high DPS but medium health pool, this makes it need to consume a lot more mushrooms during battle. When holding a torch, secondary attack doesn't work. Taming Wild Eophylliums cannot be tamed, to obtain a tamed Eophyllium the player must feed the female Eophyllium mushrooms. The player must put the appropriate mushrooms in the 0 hot bar key and approach a female Eophyllium to feed it. Once fed first time, there will be a process bar above it which will display egg laying duration. Players need to keep feeding it until the bar is full. During each feed, the Eophyllium will play an animation and will release a gas depends on the mushroom consumed. If the players are too close to the female during this time, they will try to hunt you, so it's better to get some distance after feeding each time. After successfully feeding it, the bar will be full, it will play an animation and an egg will be dropped by the female. Once the player gets the egg, the Eophylliums surrounding the area will get alerted and will try to take you down. Upon receiving the egg, the player must hatch it to get a baby Eophyllium. The baby Eophyllium only consumes mushrooms until their juvenile state, after the juvenile state can feed berries and meat. Adults can be mated but there're 2 possibilities. If the player got themself a female Eophyllium, because they are parthenogenetic, which means females can shift between sexual and asexual reproduction. If a raised female hasn't mated with a male before laying eggs, she produces eggs parthenogenetically where the embryos develop from unfertilised eggs, and females give birth to more females. The baby that hatched with asexual reproduction will be the clone of its mother. To obtain a male, the player must successfully get an egg from the wild that gives a male. Bleed effect, a slash with it's claws that will cause a bleed effect ,on smaller creatures it will give an infection instead 2. Pounce, a stealth pounce where the tiger can sneak up on creatures and pounce on them dealing 2x damage. 3. Bite, just a standard bite. 4. Leap, very long leap to cover very long distances and hights to crops canyon's. 5. Roar , fear roars medium sized creatures, but will cause nearby small creatures like dodos and lystrosaurs and Mosschops to attack its Target 6. Fur slows descent to glide and decrease fall damage. Taming You must find the tiger while it's sleeping, and feed it while it's sleeping, wear ghillie while doing this. This is not a knockout tame!
