  1. Hi survivors today I present to you the Wallog (Rhacophorus Nigropalmatus) | The ATV Flying Frog of the Center References Frog Fun Facts | AMNH https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace's_flying_frog Concept Explanation: I have played on the Center in creative mode, and know that for a long time Arkers have loved and still love this map, no matter how forgotten it was, and all of them were crushed when it was skipped in the votes, until now. I heard a certain “Arker” say that they wanted something similar to the Maewing. So something with a glide, and a jump, and good capability underwater. I didn’t just want to submit a sugar glider, or even a flying squirrel, I wanted something unique, that has all the capabilities that this “Arker” wanted. However this creature will differ from the Beelzebufo immensely in use, and hopefully it will become loved if it makes the submission. I know lots of people don’t use the Beelzebufo tons so I’m hoping the Wallog gives it more use in modern Ark. Since this frog is pretty tiny, I will be scaling it up so that it is big enough to be ridden. Ok let's begin. Behavior: The Wallog is going to be neutral, and when attacked will not deal significant amounts of damage. However, it does have a unique feature to befriend adolescent to adult frogs that will follow it. These frogs will affect taming and stats on the Wallog. More on the taming in that section. Utility: The Wallog is designed to be a fast way around the Center, on land using its powerful jump and glide (kinda like a Maewing), and in water using the same traits to zoom through the water. Its saddle will be unlocked at level 32 and can be crafted in your inventory. It will take no fall damage. Its glide will be a small bit slower than the Maewing, but the maneuverability will be a slight bit better, as well as the jump height. It will not be able to slide (hence the higher jump) on land or water, but will be able to still jump out of the water. It comes along with no oxygen stat, for maximum water travel potential. The Wallog will have a climbing ability (activated with RMB,) and will be able to cling to any surface after a jump. It will also have rider weaponry. Special Ability: If you tame a Wallog and you have up to 5 Beelzebufo following it, it will gain damage in percentage based on how many frogs are following it. The Wallog will gain 12% damage per frog, but it will not be 12% after the last 12% was counted, the 12% will always be added to the base damage that the Wallog was doing before the frogs followed it. However, this damage comes at the cost of losing your jump and glide. Don’t worry, all you have to do is make sure that the frogs stop following the tamed Wallog and you regain your jump and glide without having to cryo the frogs. Mate boost regardless of when it is placed in the equation results in the same number, so don’t worry about that. In order to make sure that these don’t become overpowered I’m going to make the cap of a tamed Wallog (tamed not imprinted) 300 damage. When you add that all up you get 638.4 which in damage numbers would be rounded down to 638. So in other words, if imprinted fully it can probably deal around 1000 damage a lick. LMB: A lick that deals around 100-300 damage depending on the level. AOE around 250o with 1 foundation reach. Every 5 licks, the Wallog will inflict a poison that slows by 25% and damages the victim for 10 seconds; the amount of damage dealt by the poison would be 2%. RMB: Activates Climbing Mode C Ability: When you hit C a crosshair will appear, and the Wallog will use its tongue as a grapple, the grapple controls would be the same as the normal grapple is, and you can deactivate the tongue by hitting C again. X Ability: Ability is based on what you feed it. Different X Abilities: Poison Attack, Night Vision/Vision Sharpener, and Camouflage. Poison Attack: Licks the target for no damage, but inflicts a 5 second 5% damage poison, this will stack with the basic LMB attack. Night Vision/Vision Sharpener: This can be activated no matter the time of day, but during the day instead of night vision, the Wallog enables its riders to see a clear white outline around each creature, similar to the tek helmet. At night it will be a night vision similar to the desmodus, except everything will be blue instead of red, and the frog won’t flash when night vision is enabled. Camouflage: Camouflage is going to be different for the Wallog than any other creature, when camouflage is enabled it will consume 5 stamina a second. But instead of going clear, the Wallog will actually change color when it moves to match the environment. Taming: To tame the Wallog you must kill all the Beelzebufo following it, since these are loyal followers to the Wallog you’re taming, the Wallog will also come and attack you. Then start knocking it out, once knocked out you must feed it one of the following things depending on how you want your Wallog to work with the taming food defining the X Ability. The Wallog will have a medium drain rate of torpor. Now depending on how many Beelzebufo you kill will give you a better roll for good stats, those stats being; melee, health, weight, and stamina, you will get 10% per frog to get this good roll. There will be one new item that will have to be added into the game, called the berry mixture made in the mortar and pestle. This will be a combination of amarberries, mejoberries, azulberries, and tintotberries, this will basically make taming the camouflage variant easier and can introduce a new thing for all herbivores. Taming Food: If you want to have any of these abilities you must feed the Wallog you are taming a certain food. Since one of these modes requires narcoberries, you will have to find a different way of keeping the Wallog knocked out like narcotics or even bio toxin, as long as it isn’t narcoberries. If you feed it narcoberries, you get the poison attack, this is the easiest of the modes to tame it, as when it eats the food, it will actually regain torpor. When feeding the Wallog chitin you will get the night vision/vision sharpener ability. When feeding the Wallog the berry mixture, you will get the camouflage. Dossier: A little note that I will be making dossier art for the Wallog Wild: The Rhacophorus Nigropalmatus seems to be the dominant frog species among the Beelzebufo, it seems that it has unique adaptation to help it survive in the murky swamp. An even bigger frog, who would’ve thought? When provoked the Rhacophorus unleashes its massive damage to protect its followers, if it has any. A Rhacophorus alone is extremely vulnerable to other creatures in the swamp. Domesticated: Strangely, based on what you feed the Rhacophorus changes its abilities. Adapted with a jump and even a glide, this will be a sure favorite for tribes who need to get around. It has a way with other frogs and can use them to increase its effectiveness in killing off unwanted creatures. No matter how slimy this creature is, there no debating that it has huge versatality. The End: Thank you for going through this whole submission, I’ll be happy to credit any ideas that are in the comments! Happy Arking Everybody! -ARKSmash
  2. Giant Charge frog (Electrorana Limoae) The Electrorana Limoae would be the first mount that emits charge. Being able to eat charge bugs to gain charge it can then use its Vocal sac as a large lantern inflating it and filling it with charge to emit light. Abilities: - emits charge - Rideable - It’s saddle can charge batteries as well as be used like a charge lantern. - Can climb walls and zip lines - Can hold creatures smaller than it in its mouth so you can move them up zip lines or cliffs. - Radiation proof - Can use its sticky tongue like a grappling hook to swing like a blood stalker. Taming method: Tame with the help of charge light. You can use charge light to get a wild Electrorana to fill with charge allowing you to ride it. Allowing you to lead it to a charge bug and get it to eat the charge bug. causing it to be tamed after an eating a few charge bugs. Omnivore, eats meat and mushrooms. I think the game of ark needs more than one frog and a giant glowing cave frog would make a fine addition. Imagine how useful the first charge emitting mount could be, for traveling aberrations depths. transporting baby dinosaurs around your base, or stealing baby Dinosaurs from others. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrorana
  3. Introducing Rheobatrachus volans, the Gliding Frog! This animal is based off of a combination of the recently extinct Gastric Brooding Frog and the living Wallace’s Flying Frog. Aberration is no stranger to downright weird wildlife, and what’s weirder than a combination of a frog that gives birth to live babies and a frog that can fly! If this creature was added, it’d certainly do wonders for ARK’s heavily lacking amphibian roster, along with adding something that Aberration sorely needs! The biggest part of Aberration, in my opinion, is the unique methods of transportation that are imposed on the player due to the environment. While end game choices like the Rock Drake are everything you could want and more for cave exploration, I feel like early game creatures like the Ravager and Roll Rat are lacking. Their movement abilities are interesting, but are either incredibly niche in use or aren’t really the best for the map (for example, as much as I love the Roll Rat, on Aberration it’s very prone to just rolling off a cliff, and struggles to turn in tight passageways). Rheobatrachus will be the answer to your early game transport needs and add a new, if a little goofy, way to travel in style! Let's hop into the concept! Table of Contents 1. Artwork 2. Dossier Text 3. Potential Base Stats and Spawning 4. Taming 5. Abilities and Controls - A Flying Frog? - Abilities - Controls 6. Supplementary Links Dossier Text Common Name: Gliding Frog Species: Rheobatrachus volans Time: Holocene Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Evasive Wild Apart from the size, Rheobatrachus volans bears strong resemblance to its recently extinct relatives… except for the fact that this super-charged frog can fly! Well, more like fall with style. Much like other frogs, its sticky toe pads allow it to grip a variety of surfaces with ease. However, the webbing between its digits is specifically designed to catch the air like a parachute! This allows it to leap great distances, then gently float back to earth without a scratch. An excellent adaptation for staying mobile in these twisting caverns! Somehow stranger than the gliding is its preferred method for avoiding predators… weaponised charge light! Females will produce ammunition in the form of specialised eggs, which they swallow and store in their stomach. When threatened, they burp them up, and the resulting blinding flash caused by the eggs bursting open stuns predators long enough for them to make their escape! The males aren’t defenceless either, filling their vocal sacs with charge to put foes in a trance, then croaking loudly to send them running! Domesticated While not the most adept climber, or the fastest glider, Rheobatrachus is the perfect choice for those just starting to explore the depths! The giant amphibian is especially popular thanks to its unique reproduction. Giving birth to live young means that it is far less water-dependent than its kin, making them much easier to keep in captivity. Any added mobility in these caves is invaluable, and its affinity for defending itself with charge light has saved my skin more times than I can count! Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 225 Stamina/Charge Capacity: 300 Charge Regeneration: 150 Food: 1500 Weight: 280 Melee Damage: See "Abilities and Controls" section for base damage values Torpidity: 175 Rheobatrachus would be found in the Fertile/Green Zones of Aberration. You may see this hybrid frog meandering along the ground, or resting in a lofty perch inside the caps of the giant fungal trees. I feel like having an animal, like the Archaeopteryx, that can be found roosting in trees would really help the map feel a lot more alive! All of the “activity” in ARK really happens at the player’s eye level, there’s rarely a reason to look upwards aside from trying to find a flyer. Having a creature that could bring some life to the tree canopy would be more than welcome! Taming While I love a good custom taming mechanic, an early game creature shouldn’t have anything too complex. Rheobatrachus would be a conventional KO tame, but I’d be open to any appropriate suggestions to spice things up! However, there are a few things to note about taming yourself a froggy friend… Diet Rheobatrachus likes to eat, in order of preference: Plant Species Z Fruit (kibble) Mutton Prime Meat I feel having it specifically require Z fruit as its kibble could make things a bit interesting. While intended to be an early game tame, if you really want to kibble tame it, you’ll have to wait till midgame to get a good one. Also, a few of its abilities would most certainly be useful for midgame and even into the lategame as a taming helper! Mobility These frogs are so fine tuned for movement, even bola-ing them down doesn’t stop them completely! I think it would add to the personality of the Rheo if it could still manage a (pitifully) slow crawl while trapped in a bola. Not the fastest or most dignified escape, but it’s all it can manage when its back legs are all tied up! Abilities and Controls A Flying Frog? First things first, lets get this out of the way. I hear you, how does this thing not invalidate creatures like Beelzebufo and Rock Drake? Simple, it has its own niche! Below is a handy dandy chart detailing how its mechanics differ from the rest of the bunch! Art also thanks to RRG! In terms of abilities: The Rheobatrachus would be a wonderful way to get around the upper regions of Aberration! While its combat prowess leaves a bit to be desired, it more than makes up for it in its utility! Both males and females can spread their webbed toes wide to catch the air below them, turning them into living parachutes! Both can also manage that awkward, but endearing, frog climb up a variety of surfaces! However, each has their own charge light themed abilities! Males Males are able to inflate their vocal sacs and fill them with charge light, turning them into a living lure that can slowly lead creatures to different locations. While the sac is inflated, you won’t be able to glide. Females Females will use their charge light stat to slowly produce ammunition, much like Rhyniognatha’s conversion of sap to resin. The ammo will be in the form of explosive eggs! These eggs can be shot out in front of them and create a flash of light, like Plant Species Z. A unique feature of this amphibian is its reproduction. It will give birth to live young when bred! In terms of controls: Left Click : A simple bite. 12 base damage. Harvests a good amount of chitin! Right Click : On males, this will do the equivalent of parasaur's scary honk. On females, it will be a small forward stomp with 20 base damage. C : Charge-based abilties! Males will glow and lure things towards them, females will shoot out a singular egg from their ammunition stockpile. Left-Control : Activates climbing mode. Being a frog, this fella can climb, just nowhere near as fast as creatures like the Rock Drake or Megalania. Really, its climbing is just enough to help you not have to take the long way round if you fall off a cliff. Spacebar : Leap! Can be aimed much like the Procoptodon's/Karkinos' jump. Holding spacebar activates the parachute. 4. -SUMMARY: Common Name (In-Game): Cave Frog Inspiration: Electrorana "Amber Frog" found in Amber from Myanmar. Aberrant Species Name: Electrorana ton asterión (Amber Frog of the stars) Time: Mid-Cretaceous Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Languorous Map Relation: Native to Bioluminescent Biome Main Diet: Glowbugs, Shine Pets, Lamprey & Nameless Natural Predators and Only Counters Completely Immune to their Torpor Damage: Reapers, Rock Drakes, Basilisks, Karkinos Colors: Black, Grays, Purples. Blues, Browns, Oranges, Golds -WILD: Passive unless attacked. They rarely can be seen clinging to the branches and ceilings of the bioluminescent biome. Cave Frogs are usually spotted occasionally when they hop and glide across caverns to snatch a Glowbug that flies up too high. They also descend onto the Nameless when they rise out of the ground. Even more rare are seeing groups glide down to the water pools under the glowing trees. Where after they give a brief light show, the female will drop eggs into the water before they all retreat back up together. The eggs then hatching into wild Tadpoles, that when mature, will make their way up to join the rest of the other adults. The only things that attack fully grown Cave Frogs, are Reapers, Rock Drakes & Basilisks. While Karkinos will eat Tadpoles they come across, as well as try to grab a Cave Frog when they get the rare opportunity to. These four creatures are the only things immune to the Cave Frog’s defensive and offensive Torpor Damage, and are their true counters. When attacked by one of their 4 natural predators, the Cave Frog will use their Shine Burst to stun them and try to retreat back to a safe elevation. However anything smaller that is foolish enough to attack one will quickly turn the Cave Frog aggressive. Making it lash out while most certainly trying to eat the smaller threat. -DOMESTICATED: The true champions of this 3D Environment. Cave Frogs can cling to any surface, jump great distances, as well as move at deceptively fast speeds on land and in water. Being able to also glide slightly with their large toe pads. This allows them to direct their decent when falling. This mobility makes them unquestionably the best way to get around the Aberrant Caverns of this ARK. As well as being able to fire weapons from their saddles, and a constant supply of Bio-Toxin produced in their inventory, They are invaluable partners when Taming. Being able to turn aspects of their diets into defensive, or offensive capabilities doesn’t hurt their utility much either. From gaining effects from Rockwell recipes to being able to fire a cannonball from their mouths. Cave Frogs can be the Swiss Army Knife of Amphibious, or in some cases, Aerial Assault. Tamed Passively with: Set-up Charge Lamp (or Glow Pet) Preferred Food: Leech Blood Cave Frogs are tamed passively through a little trickery. You set up a charge lamp within range of the where the Cave Frog is hanging around and back away. The Cave Frog will become curious and dive down to it to investigate if it is food. At this point you can sneak up beside it and offer it Leech Blood Passively. A New Model for a Charge Lamp laying on its side on the ground would be needed, but an animation of the Cave Frog trying to swallow, and then spitting out the Charge Lamp would be great if it is not fed quickly enough. Then it would make a confused look before climbing back up to where it came from. If fed quickly enough it will just hang around and let you continue feeding it. But if it is left hungry for more than 5-10 seconds, it will become uninterested and climb back up to where it came from. A Charge-Light Pet on wander can also be used instead of the Charge Lamp to lure the Cave Frog down. However if the Cave Frog is not fed Leech Blood quickly enough. It will eat the Charge-Light Pet. Although cruel, this can benefit you. Giving a huge boost to the initial taming process similar to a Sanguine Elixir. As long as Leech Blood is offered within 5-10 seconds of the Cave Frog becoming hungry afterwards it should stick around and continue the taming process as usual. Weakness: Entering Deserts & Very Hot Volcanic Temperatures dries out the Cave Frog’s skin and begins to drain its health. This is cancelled out while submerging in water or going into an underground area. Entering Freezing Temperatures makes Cave Frogs move progressively slower until Lethargic and unmoving. Needing to be left or put into a cryopod to continue. Although harsh penalties, these obstacles can be worked around with certain consumables. -BASIC ABILITIES: (Super-Mobile Taming-Unit/Cave Explorer) -Tamable, Breedable, Mountable -Can Fire Weapons While Mounted on their Saddle -Matures from a Tadpole -Much Larger than Beelzebufo -Good Carry Weight -No Fall Damage -Very Quick Hop/Movement Speed -Can Jump Ridiculously Far, along with Aimed-Jump Option -Seamlessly Sticks to any Surface it Lands On -Can Stick and Climb on Any Surface -Slight Descending-Glide using Toe-Pads -Same Turning Mobility as the Beelzebufo, even when Climbing -Creates Cementing Paste from Insects like the Beelzebufo -Acquires Charge-Light Reserves from Eating Glowbugs, Lampreys & Shine Pets -Can Emit Charge Light like a Shine Pet while Reserves Last -Can Emit a Shine Burst that Temporarily Stuns Attackers but depletes All Reserves -Colorful Pulsing that indicates when invisible Rock Drakes or a Buried Reapers are Nearby -Produces Bio-Toxin (like Jellyfish’s) but Passively in their Inventory -Can Inflict Major Torpor Damage from Tongue Attack -Can Inflict Minor Torpor Damage every time it is Attacked due to its Poisonous Skin -Will Repel Non-Immune, Aberrant Creatures a Small Distance, Protecting Tames-in-Progress -Will Emit a Warning Charge Burst when attacked that will Stun the Predator Shortly -Can be set to Warn of an Earthquake with a Croaking Noise beforehand -ATTACKS: -Tongue attacks: Regular-Tongue attack & Snatch/Swallow-Tongue attack - Can snatch and swallow survivors with tongue right off of mounts and flyers +Can spit-ball swallowed survivors like Cannonballs or just be dropped on the ground +Survivors die inside Cave Frog’s mouth when oxygen runs out - -Regular Spitwad Projectile Attack +adding Rocks & Grenades to spitwads Regular spitwads do minor damage but stagger medium to smaller targets +adding Rocks do increased damage and stagger while Grenades explode on impact - -Intimidation Croak Large booming croak (with light display when charged) that repels medium to smaller threats - Slippery skin makes it immune to Rhyniognatha resin effects -CONSUMABLE ABILITIES: Kirby-like Powers: (+swallow animation) Light Pets: can use Charge Light until reserves run dry - Nameless: Temporarily Produces Toxins on skin that cause Torpor Damage when hit Rock Drake Egg = Temporarily can use the Rock-Drake Cloaking Ability Wyvern Egg = Temporarily has Elemental Breath invulnerability matching the Egg eaten - Ferox = Temporary Frenzy with Attack & Speed buff - Spiders & Scorpions = Temporary Torpor Damage inflicting Tongue attacks & spitwads Lystrosaurus = Temporary EXP Buff for surrounding tames Oviraptor = Temporary Egg Laying Buff for surrounding tames Jellyfish = non-stackable Temporary x3 increase in passive Bio-Toxin Generation - Fish = Replenishes some of the Cave Frog’s Oxygen while Underwater - Swallowed from Inventory: Nameless Venom: Temporarily Produces Toxins on skin that causes Torpor Damage when hit Narcotic = Can stack for multiple Torpor Damage inflicting Tongue attacks or spitwads Stimulant = Temporary minor Speed Boost Rare Flower = non-stackable Croak that Attracts Herbivores Rare Mushroom = non-stackable Croak that Attracts Carnivores Bug Repellent = non-stackable Croak that Attracts Insects (For Cementing Paste) Sap = Consuming adds up to stack of 5 Sticky-immobilizing spitwad Oil = Consuming adds up to stack of 5 Sticky-flammable spitwad Propellant = Consuming adds up to stack of 5 Flaming-spitball Attack Wyvern milk = Temporary x2 Imprint buff to all surrounding babies Element = non-stackable Croak that emits a TEK EMP-Blast Cannonball = Consuming adds non-stackable Cannon Shot, or Anti-Aircraft Shot to drop flyers Chainbola = Consuming adds non-stackable Chain-Bola-Capture-Shot Medical Brew = Temporarily Heals Cave Frog over time Mindwipe = Can Respec Cave Frog’s Stats Shadowsteak = Cloaking Ability with Hot/Cold Temperature Protection and Weight Buff Tartar = Attack, Defense & Speed Buff Broth = EXP Buff for surrounding tames, survivors, and the Cave Frog Calien Soup = Temporarily Protects Cave Frog from health drain in Deserts & Volcanos Enduro Stew = Stamina & Weight Buff Focal Chili = Temporary Homing spitwads (even +Rocks & Grenades) Fria Curry = Temporarily Prevents from Slowing down and freezing in the Cold Lazarus Chowder = Temporarily provide Infinite Oxygen for Frog/Rider +Frog Swim Speed Buff Cactus Broth = Temporarily Cancels out health drain in Deserts Mushroom Brew = Temporary Radiation Immunity (for much longer than survivors) Soap = Croak that makes Bubbles that float around. 6. NAME: NEOBATRACHIA SPECIES: NEOBATRACHIA AJAJU TIME: UNKNOWN DIET: CARNIVORE TEMPERAMENT: AGGRESSIVE WILD THE NEOBATRACHIA IS A TERROR OF THE JUNGLE IN ABERRATION, A MASSIVE SIZED TREE FROG DESCENDANT THAT STALKS THE CANOPIES AND CLIFFS BY LEAPING AND CLIMBING TO PURSUE ITS PREY. GIVEN IT’S SCIENTIFIC NAME AFTER A MYTHICAL BLOOD DRINKER THIS FROG USES A SERRATED TONGUE TO GRASP ITS VICTIMS AND AS THEY STRUGGLE BLEED THEM OUT. EVEN WORSE DUE TO THEIR LOVE OF HALLUCINOGENIC MUSHROOMS IF YOU ATTACK THEM TO MUCH WITH MELEE AT CLOSE RANGE YOU WILL GO FOR A LITTLE TRIP. THIS BEAST IS A THREAT ON LAND, WATER, AND EVEN SKY AS IT CAN USE ITS GIANT WEBBED FEET TO SLOW ITS FALLS AND GLIDE FOR A SIGNIFICANT DISTANCE TO CHASE GLIDING SURVIVORS. IN THE WATER THEY ARE SLOW AND EASY TO EVADE AT LEAST, BUT NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN IF YOU THINK ANY ARE NEAR, THERE’S NOTHING LIKE HAVING A NICE SWIM ONLY TO HAVE A GIANT FROG SLAM INTO YOU AT HIGH VELOCITY FROM SOMEWHERE HIGH IN THE CANOPY. THEY DO HAVE A SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL SONG WHEN COMMUNICATING THROUGH, FOR A CARNO SIZED AMPHIBIAN THAT WANTS TO EAT EVERYTHING. DOMESTICATED TAMING A NEOBATRACHIA IS THE CLASSIC, BOLA IT AND THEN BONK IT UNCONSCIOUS TO GIVE IT FOOD, WELL BLOOD, THEY LIKE BLOOD MIXED WITH HALLUCINOGENIC MUSHROOMS. ONCE TAMED YOU HAVE A BEAST THAT CAN CLIMB WALLS AND TREES, GLIDE ACROSS THE CANOPY, AND SWIM THE WATERS OF YOUR CAVERNOUS HOME! THEY LIKE RAVAGERS CAN CLIMB VINES AND ZIPLINES, BUT ONLY IN ONE DIRECTION. WITH A FLICK OF ITS TONGUE YOU CAN BLEED OUT MOST CREATURES YOU FACE, OR SEND OTHER SURVIVORS INTO A HALLUCINOGENIC STATE, AND FOR ANYTHING SMALLER THAN A REAPER YOU CAN POUNCE UPON IT TO PIN IT DOWN. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THEY BREED SLOWLY AND KEEPING THE TADPOLES ALIVE IS A CHORE, BUT IF YOU MANAGE THEN YOU WILL HAVE A POWERFUL ALLY IN YOUR MISSION TO SURVIVE THE ARK. ANOTHER REASON SURVIVORS TAME THEM IS TO HARVEST THEIR MUCUS WHICH CAN BE USED TO RESIST RADIATION OR TURNED USED AS A NARCOTIC SUBSTITUTE. THEY MAKE EXCELLENT MOUNTS FOR AMBUSHING SURVIVORS ATTEMPTING TO GO FOR A GLIDE, EITHER BY PINNING THEM OUT OF MIDAIR TO THE UNFORGIVING GROUND OR A MUSHROOM TRUNK, OR DOING A TONGUE FLICK TO DISABLE THEIR GLIDER AND SEND THEM PLUMMETING TO THEIR DEATH. THESE FROGS TAKE NO FALL DAMAGE FROM GREAT HEIGHTS SO FEEL FREE TO GO WILD IN EXPLORING EVERY POSSIBLE HEIGHT OR DEPTH YOU CAN. UTILITY WAR MOUNT, NOT SUPER HEAVY ON HEALTH/DEFENSE BUT MORE THEN MAKES UP FOR THESE DRAWBACKS BY HAVING TWO STATUS EFFECT INFLICTIONS AND HIGH MOBILITY ALL TERRAIN MOVEMENT. NO FALL DAMAGE SO YOU CAN LITERALLY JUST LAUNCH YOURSELF INTO A MASSIVE FALL AND JUST DROP OR GLIDE AWAY. GLIDING IS MORE EFFICIENT THAN THE GLIDER ITEM AND OTHER GLIDING MOUNTS IN DISTANCE AND STAMINA, AND IT CAN LAND ON VERTICAL SURFACES LIKE A TAPEJARA. THE PIN CAN BE DONE ON GROUND OR WALL AND YOU CAN SNATCH SOMEONE FROM THE AIR, WORKS JUST LIKE A RAPTOR PIN.
  7. Dossier Common Name: Platyhystrix Species: Platyhystrix Statucus Time: Permian Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Skittish Wild Platyhystrix, a small and unusual amphibian found in hostile regions, can defend themselves by releasing a colorful smoke puff when startled. The food they consume allows them to have unique abilities that make them dangerous. Worrisome creatures to tame, startled from the simplest of actions at times, be careful not to breathe in the smoke. Domesticated Platyhystrix can be tamed and used by survivors by feeding them narcotics. The amphibians can release toxic fumes to tranquilize creatures, and with explosive gunpowder, they can become organic bombs. A variety of food can create different effects, just some experimentation to create a dangerous and explosive friend. Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 150 Stamina: 100 Oxygen: N/A Food: 500 Weight: 100 Melee Damage: 8 (Bite) | 35 (Explosion) Torpidity: 200 Platyhystrix is found within a variety of waterways and river systems, while inhabiting the swamp and rainforests of ragnarok. Taming Platyhystrix is a passive-tame, skittish however, so wearing ghillie is necessary to approach sometimes. It wants an assortment of foods, similar to moschops, but instead it wants gunpowder, oil, sap, narcotics, stimulants, biotoxin, ammonite bile, and sand. Abilities & Functions Explained Platyhystrix is a shoulder-pet, with the bog-standard shoulder-pet features. However, when given certain delicious ingredients, you can allow them to commit chemical warfare and break the geneva convention, since Geneva doesn’t exist in ark, don’t worry it’s a suggestion now. But at least the Platyhystrix is immune to the assorted debuffs, except you know exploding itself. Gunpowder - Causes a dangerous explosion, your platyhystrix can take damage from this localized detonation, however it can survive typically. Oil - When it releases this cloud, a fire-arrow or attack causes the cloud to ignite into flame burning anything inside it. Sap - It causes anyone inside the cloud to become slowed or stuck with enough time, allowing you to release a few-shots until the debuff is gone. Narcotics - As average, the narcotics create a sleep-mist, providing torpor to whatever that stands within it. It can cause a decent amount of armor-ignoring torpor, however, it’s small and squishy. Stimulants - Opposite of Narcotics, had a creature that was bitten from a rogue Dilophosaurus? You can awaken it instead, with a mist of anti-torpor, you want 100% correct on effectiveness yeah? Biotoxin - It causes paralysis, stun-locking a target into paralysis, helpless to your attacks where sap allows a target to attack but slowly. Ammonite Bile - Pheromone Darts in gaseous form, want everything to hate a particular target? Choose Ammonite Bile, want to have basically the entire forest attempting to kill a singular raptor, this is for you. Sand - Pocket Sand, a mysterious blinding cloud of sand, how? It’s somehow just able to expel sand-clouds outside itself after munching on sand.
  8. Calyptocephalella, the new competitor to the beelzebufo, a big toad who will live in the oasis os scorched earth, eating water and oil insects. WILD: if you come across one of these frogs they will instantly swallow you whole, like many modern frogs do. they live under the water and they stay incredibly still, so they will be hard to notice. HOW TO TAME: you have to lead your tamed animals near it (not bigger than a trike or else he wouldn't be able to swallow it) and leave the work to the frog. TAMED: this forg once tamed is rideable, but can't jump like beelzebufo, instead it can burry on the ground (like a purlovia) or stay under the water and wait for its enemies (you can ride it while he is underground) it produces an insane amount of eggs that you can use for kibbles or to create an offspring. it is also useful to kill manits, deathworms, broodmothers, and other aracnid or insect-like creatures because he has a damage boost on them (not like megatherium that needs to kill a bug to become stronger, this frog just do more damage to insects)
  9. Jatheish

    Beelzebufo

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Beelzebufo Species: Beelzebufo palucocus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Languorous Wild: Beelzebufo palucocus is the largest frog I've ever seen. Almost impossibly large, it can actually fit a full grown human adult on its back, though just barely. This is a dangerous prospect, though, as secretions from Beelzebufo's skin and saliva have a narcotic effect on most creatures. Not surprisingly, Beelzebufo is adept at killing insects. In fact, it kills most insects near-instantly, and quickly digests them. It even combines the narcotic chemicals in its mouth with the insects' chitin to create a sticky substance, allowing it to quickly grab prey from afar, and yielding a form of cementing paste. Domesticated: Tamed Beelzebufo make for strange mounts. Strange mounts for strange people. Many tribes don't believe there's any reason to ride them. But some like the ability to take large vertical hops up huge walls and cliffs. Regardless of how it is ridden, Beelzebufo is also employed for its ability to quickly cull insects, and convert them into always-useful cementing paste.
