  1. English: (Sadly i not have draw of it, but imagine big vulture like real one, with some spike, and the blue "element friendly" corruption like other extinction creature) Cryptogyps lacertosus the cheater death Common name: Crypto Species: Cryptogyps lacertosus (hidden vulture and powerful) Time : Pleistocene Diet: carrion feeder Temperament : opportunist Preferred Food: Golden hesperornis egg Inventory Power: Cryptogyps can store Golden Hesperornis Eggs for a very long time to prevent them from rotting, in addition it can turn 25 Spoiled Meat into Raw Meat and 400 Raw Meat into Prime Meat. Power cheats death: Cryptogyps if his life reaches zero will have immunity to the next damage, if he keeps his immunity or he does not receive damage after losing it for 2 minutes, he will regain 2000 hp and live (or else 20% to see so it's not too cheating) Bird breeder : Cryptogyps can make baby vulture, featherlight, ichthyornis and hesperornis making these creatures obtainable in new ways and in non-canon locations. They will have like normal parents the random stats of the mother or the father however they will not be able to reproduce with their parent (logical it is not the same species) and will act like their natural counterpart Taming Method: Passive To start the taming I know it's contradictory but you have to kill the Cryptogyps then you have to make sure you lock it in a safe place but not too small or else it will refuse the next step, to start you have to do a bait, to do this you must put a taxidermy with a corresponding trophy equip, the bigger it is (so alpha and apex predator) the better the taming will be after the fight, you can put basilisk alpha, karkinos alpha, giga, etc, he will be attracted and you can lock him up to kill him, then once his power cheats death is active you must catch him, either by a metal bolas or by a megalosaurus (be careful, this removes his immunity) once you catch him you must wait 2 minutes (the time he regens, then you can release him wait without attacking him for him to approach you and once ready enough give him a caress, then depending on Cryptogyps's reaction you must react, if Cryptogyps attacks you weaken him to show who dominates, if Cryptogyps is imposing and opens his wings give him a golden egg of hesperornis, then repeat a caress and fight back if he attacks attack, if he imposes feed him, be careful, it will not lose effectiveness if you are the one attacking it, but if it is another creature (wild or tamer) this could affect its effectiveness. Cryptogyps also accepts golden mushrooms, basilisk egg, element ores and element as an alternative if there is no golden egg but will be less effective and therefore more likely to have to fight. Maps transfer or and spawn : Aberation, Extinction, the Center, Crystal isle, lost island, Genesis 1, genesis 2 Breedable : Yes (80% of baby will be torgos arcam, featherlight, hesperornis or ichthyornis) Saddle: Tribal Crypto armor unlock at lvl 68 (argentavis I think) add 65 armor need to craft : golden egg, fiber, hide, sarco skin, Rex Helmet Skin Saddle tek : Tek Crypto armor unlock at Dinopithecus king, crystal wyvern queen (make these boss cool to make because many only make island scorched boss and Rockwell) or the best a special boss for him because the center not have special boss)can swap mode : Add 120 armor, can use element for reflect projectile and dmg, Swap armor to dmg so normal make 120% dmg, can use element to make element charged attack, when crypto bite or lacerated make more dmg and have 25% chance to make bleed Swap armor to life, heal regen to 120 per second when use element and spoiled meat, transform with time into Mummy element after 24 hours if crypto possess in inventory many element, spoiled meat and golden egg (beware of spoil meat become meat) Mommy element is lvl of Cryptogyps who craft it, mommy element can be put in inventory of death bodies to resurrect it, but function only for tame was below or same lvl of Cryptogyps, if try on more lvl dino it resurrect but lost lvl to correspond to crypto lvl, when death body eat mommy element it transform into mommy before become alive. Mommy element can be use on wild but don’t tame them, so you do tame them by normal way. Immobilized by: Chain bolas, megalosaurus (it take it on neck), thylacoleo Immune by : Net, blood, radiation Wild : Have you ever seen a mummy movie? Well I think Cryptogyps could correspond, he has an immense power over death, able to protect himself from damage incurred or to kill before being killed, he can even literally mummify to protect himself. Unlike its counterpart Torgos Arcam, it is very tall, really very tall, it is easily the size of a argentavis on the arch, at the start when I crossed it for the first time I would have thought to see one, in sum Crypto at a pace that could be mistaken for an eagle, let's say that it is especially his long neck that betrays him, moreover, I saw him once one of them being taken by a megalosaurus that he had inadvertently just woken up, and he got caught, not something you would commonly see on other specimens of his size. Tamed: When I see some of these abilities, including the one on the element, it scares me horribly, could he be one of Rockwell's minions? He is able to corrupt the element in his own way, giving his resurrection power to creatures that come into contact with the mummified element. I've seen some of the best inventors in the Federation and URE build tek armor for this creature, allowing it to amplify its already existing powers or force it to corrupt the element, this armor doesn't do I find only worsen the threat that crypto can cause. Having a tamed Cryptogyps lacertosus can however be useful for travel, you can ride on its back as a flying mount, but you can also travel in caves with it, if the air pressure of a cave prevents it from flying, it can be clinging to your spine, being like Torgos Arcam quite light, and serving as a glider, it can hover in the air, but it can also move and therefore hover and make three leaps in the air before being forced to to land. He is not worth a draconis obscurum for traveling but he is rather useful for those who are not fortunate enough to have this mount, moreover, perhaps because he knows the element well enough to corrupt it, he does not is unaffected by radiation and elemental water, allowing survivors to travel through this hostile area well accompanied or to caves in other arks to hunt for artifacts.
  2. Tek Argentavis It is just as it sounds. A beautiful Argentavis tek that will allow you to fly at high speed while carrying a lot of weight. It will be very rare to find it flying together with its normal version, but when you see it, it will be unmistakable, the way to tame it will be the same as a normal Argentavis, but be careful because when it feels weak it will flee even faster. Its favorite food will be element dust. Eating it will give it an energy boost that will make it go much faster while the element dust is gradually consumed. The element dust also helps him to use a special ability when standing on the ground, this ability allows him to become rigid as a metal statue, which makes him go unnoticed by any enemy and even if he is attacked he does not receive any damage. This will allow you to leave his entire inventory safe when you come back for him. This ability will have an approximate time limit proportional to the bird's stamina. Perfect to go for orbital drops. Image taken from the internet for reference only.
  3. Hummanguera - The flying oil gatherer Hummanguera is a new creature of the Extinction map. It can detect some of the valuable resources, collect oil with maximum coefficient and help the survivors in the battle. Basic information Hummanguera is a flying creature similar in appearance to Pteranodon and Tropeognathus, but slightly smaller. Appearance is equated to the Snow Owl, Velonosaurus and Managarmr with their dark 'cyber' limbs. It is a non-aggressive creature until the player attacks it. If the player does start attacking, Hummanguera will start spitting oil in response. Getting oil on the player will add a debuff of immobility and will not allow movement for a couple of seconds, if the player is next to other hostile dinos, then he will not be able to fight back. Hummanguera lives in and around the Desert Dome. To fly this dino you need a level 50 survivor. For taming, you will need to have some sulfur and oil with you, and wait for the Hummanguera to fly up to you. After it lands, throw a bola at it and knock it out. PVE use As mentioned above Hummanguer is a good way to collect oil. It collects oil with its lingering tongue in a similar way as hummingbirds collect the nectar of flowers. Also, this dyno can carry a lot of weight, but this only applies to some resources (oil, gems, obsidian). Flight speed is average, but can dive and increase it. Also, Hummanguera can be used as a storage that gives out the right amount at the request. It is a live-like locator that highlights resources in a small radius while on the ground and in a large radius while in the air. PVP use Humanguera can be used in combat, with enough oil it can spit it at other survivors, which the rider can then set on fire with flaming arrows. It is advisable to engage in battle with tribemates for better efficiency. Has an advantage over Phoenixes, Fire Wyverns and Survivors with flamethrowers. Vulnerability is the small size that exposes the rider to danger. Basic stats Max Wild Level Health: 1200.0 Stamina: 700.0 Oxygen: 170.0 Food: 800.0 Weight: 2600.0 Melee Damage: 120% Movement Speed: 130% Torpidity: 500.0
  4. Common Name : Hatzegopteryx Name : Hatzegopteryx Thaambema Diet : Carnivore Temperament : Aggressive Wild : Hatzegopteryx has claimed the tittle as Ark's "Titan of the sky" , it being the size of a Giganotosaurus . They live solitary lives and are very territorial , attacking any creature it sees . Tamed : If you manage to tame one of these titans you're in luck , because you just befriended a "flying tank" . That can cause great damage and pick up creatures as large as an Amargosaurus . Note , if it senses that is in danger it will retaliate . If you manage to make a saddle for it , you managed to turn a flying tank into a bomber . Tame : Feed it tamed creatures Ridable : Without a saddle Saddle : unlocked at level 95 (allows you to drop bombs bellow you)
  5. Description: The Hatzegopteryx is an extinct flying reptile that was around the same size as the Quetzal. It moves much faster than normal flyers. The shape of its head causes it to peck through smaller dinosaurs. Saddles: The Hatzegopteryx can have a saddle that has a bomber (Controlled by the person flying this beast) and a ball turret gunner (A saddle that can have 2 passengers for this to work). The ball turret can take advanced rifle bullets and the Bombs can be out of grenades. The bombs can only be used while diving and the ball turret can only be used while flying. You can also use an automated turret which does a lot less damage. It also has a water saddle which can cause it to fully submerge in water but is not that fast in water but it goes faster while flying with this saddle equipped. Abilities: It can carry up to a stego (because of the ball turret). It has an attack that pierces up to a medium dino doing something similar to stego. The Hatzegopteryx has an attack when it swing it's head around and does knockback and of course a normal peck attack doing similar damage to a rex. It cannot use the attack when it swings around its head when flying. It goes faster with the aquatic saddle because it does not have a massive saddle on it. It can also pick up to a mammoth with this saddle. Taming: The taming will not be traditional. You need to sneak up on it with meat or kibble (Takes extraordinary kibble) and feed it and try not to die because if it notices you it will pick you up and drop you. You will need more than just Gillie armor. Domesticated: You can use the gunship saddle because you've tamed it but now you have a powerhouse of a creature to use. The Aquatic saddle is also good for speed. Other: The creature cannot be taken into a boss fight and of course, cannot be taken into a cave. The ball turret will be placed under the center of the dino and the Bombs will be dropped from the back of the dino. The ball turret saddle will be very expensive but the aquatic saddle will be cheap but takes a lot of hide. Cannot be netted while using the “Gun Ship Saddle” but can be netted by the “Aquatic Saddle”. Sorry for any typos and grammar mistakes but who is excited about ASA
  6. Wild- In all my years I never expected to find a eusocial pterosaur, let alone one with such a... unique method of defense. Sordes cornucrepitus are related to the more common dimorphodon, yet unlike their cousins they are extremely aggressive in the wild, resting in their towering wasteland hive structures where their king and queen sit safely at the central chamber. Whenever prey or predators venture too close to the hive a specialized caste of drone are released from the hive in droves whose only purpose is to dive bomb the enemy and through a process of muscular constriction rupture their own bodies, explode on impact dealing grievous damage to their target. The process in which the creatures self detonate is fascinating, possessing several specialized organs full of volatile chemicals surrounded by constricting muscular structures, at a whim the creature can constrict these structures, building enough pressure that the creatures body cavity ruptures, exposing the chemical contents to the air and causing a violent explosion full of bone shrapnel. The self destructive drones hatch ready to fly within moments and ready to give their lives in defense of their hive. Taming- Taming your own hive of sordes is a daunting task, one must approach and rile the hive, surviving the swarming onslaught of exploding drones, if one can exhaust the hives supply of drones then the king will emerge and attack the survivor, being the largest and most dangerous member of the hive this will in itself be a dangerous task, the king is a swift flier armed with sharp teeth and vitality surprising for such a small creature. When the king sordes falls in combat only the queen will remain, plump, helpless and unable to fly away she will attempt to flee the hive and crawl away to safety, it is at this time a survivor can attempt to win her trust through hand feeding of their favorite food, mutton, after this process is complete you can bring your new friend home to have her build a new hive tower. Domesticated- A domesticated sordes hive has a surprising number of uses, the structure itself being roughly as durable as stone structures built by survivors and can be commanded to hunt and gather meat from passing wild animals, this meat stored in large chambers within the hive where its spoilage will be drastically slowed. The base defense possibilities of the hive can also not be understated as few creatures can withstand the onslaught of the hives drone attacks. One can also take a queen and have her form a small "hive backpack" which cant house as many drones but can still make a potent defensive option while exploring the wastelands. A tamed hive can also have the chemical composition of its explosive drones influenced to achieve different explosive effects, incendiary, poisonous and flashbang drones have all been documented and who knows what other clever chemical compositions can be achieved. Breeding of sordes in captivity can technically be achieved, a "Founder" egg can occasionally be found in a destroyed hive the wild, this actually being a pair of two fused eggs that can only be incubated within a tamed hive, upon hatching this will produce a new king and queen that can produce an entire new hive upon maturity.
  7. COMMON NAME: Nyctosaurus SPECIES: N. anemosilectus TIME: Late Cretaceous DIET: Piscivore TEMPERAMENT: Neutral WILD: Few creatures are more striking to behold than Nyctosaurus anemosilectus. This semiaquatic pterosaur can sometimes be found roosting atop any of the tall spires rising from this ark's multitude of tropical islands. Although normally docile unless provoked, Nyctosaurus does not like being disturbed while roosting and will attack anything that does so. This can be avoided by approaching under the cover of a ghillie suit, but be careful because it will still attack if the survivor approaches with a mount! This can make a roosting Nyctosaurus quite difficult to reach, but feeding it fish meat can earn its trust. DOMESTICATED: Nyctosaurus' saddle is a large sail fastened to its L-shaped crest and a surfboard-like platform strapped to its back, transforming the creature into some kind of living sailboard. Using its beak like a rudder and its wings to make tight drifting turns, a saddled Nyctosaurus is the most efficient means of travel across the water's surface. Although the sail, when unfurled, impedes Nyctosaurus' ability to fly, the saddle can be switched to “furled mode” where the sail is folded up against the crest. This enables the pterosaur to freely fly and dive. The crest also functions like a lightening rod, absorbing electrical shocks and rendering both mount and rider immune to attacks from the ocean's bioelectric denizens. ARTIST'S NOTES: I've been sitting on this idea for a LONG time, having actually forgotten about it after a point until something recently jogged my memory of it—just in time for this contest! It seems like most submissions to these contests are mid- to late-game tames with sometimes complicated taming methods and even more complicated abilities. For once it'd be nice to get a simple early- to mid-game tame with one or two straight-forward but incredibly fun abilities. The inspiration behind this was the debate as to whether or not the L-shaped crests of Nyctosaurus and kin supported membranes. Depictions of sailed nyctosaurs reminded me of sailboards, and that's when the bulb lit in my brain. Honestly, how cool would this be? Let's get this crazy idea into the game!
  8. English: Cryptogyps lacertosus the cheater death Common name: Crypto Species: Cryptogyps lacertosus (hidden vulture and powerful) Time : Pleistocene Diet: carrion feeder Temperament : opportunist Preferred Food: Golden hesperornis egg Inventory Power: Cryptogyps can store Golden Hesperornis Eggs for a very long time to prevent them from rotting, in addition it can turn 25 Spoiled Meat into Raw Meat and 400 Raw Meat into Prime Meat. Maps transfer or and spawn : Aberation, Extinction, the Center, Crystal isle, lost island, Genesis 1, genesis 2 Breedable : Yes (80% of baby will be torgos arcam, featherlight, hesperornis or ichthyornis) Saddle: Tribal Crypto armor unlock at lvl 68 (argentavis I think) add 65 armor need to craft : golden egg, fiber, hide, sarco skin, Rex Helmet Skin (look like assembly of stego plate, sauropod bone, etc) Saddle tek : Tek Crypto armor unlock at Dinopithecus king, crystal wyvern queen (make these boss cool to make because many only make island scorched boss and Rockwell) or the best a special boss for him because the center not have special boss)can swap mode : Add 120 armor, can use element for reflect projectile and dmg, Swap armor to dmg so normal make 120% dmg, can use element to make element charged attack, when crypto bite or lacerated make more dmg and have 25% chance to make bleed Swap armor to life, heal regen to 120 per second when use element and spoiled meat, transform with time into Mummy element after 24 hours if crypto possess in inventory many element, spoiled meat and golden egg (beware of spoil meat become meat) Mommy element is lvl of Cryptogyps who craft it, mommy element can be put in inventory of death bodies to resurrect it, but function only for tame was below or same lvl of Cryptogyps, if try on more lvl dino it resurrect but lost lvl to correspond to crypto lvl, when death body eat mommy element it transform into mommy before become alive. 9. A Pterosaur, no larger than a Dimorphodon is a great Idea for a scout, its small size makes it harder to detect and hit it can get into almost anywhere except water, it is desinged to hide in various areas and can even camouflage with its native surroundings to get anywhere unnoticed, it can not carry much, but is decently fast and maneuverable, you can use the radial wheel to play as it, it is still a flyer and can not enter boss arenas(Why would you bring this creature into a boss fight where it could get killed Except if it could be brought over to the broodmother It Might Be useful to prevent her regeneration, but the health Drain is too small to do anything else to her) Stats Base Level Wild Level Tamed Health 40 8 20% Stamina 50 25 50% Oxygen 150 15 10% Weight 25 5 20% Melee 4 0.4 10% Speed 100% N/A 1.5% Torpor 30% 5 N/A% Bite 4 damage, is fairly rapid instantly kills meganeura or titanomyrma, 200% damage bonus to other arthropods, immune to arhtropluera recoil, but not other recoils. Taming Strategy: You need to wear Chitin Armor and let the Pterosaur eat away at your armor, you will not take damage, but the armor will, you should repair or use highest possible durability for the first phase. the second phase involves dragging small insect bodies to the creature letting it eat them, once taming gets to max on the second phase it is now tamed. You also must be level 30 to tame one as well. Utility: It makes for a great scout or insect harassment creature, once it has eaten a large enough hole in its chitin it can start to burrow inside the insect If it has a drag weight of 80 or higher other than arthropleura do massive damage to the creature, even a rhyniognatha could easily fall to it and it ignores rhynio resin armor once embedded into its flesh, however to keep it balanced it only works by this table and the rules below Arthropod Level Difference (Nemi Must Be Higher) Lymantria 1 Araneo 5 Pulmonoscorpius 5 Mantis 20 Rhyniognatha 50 Player Can Also Hold To Remove Nemicolopterus similar to leeches, however if the insect, it would most likely be an araneo or lymantria (Which few people care for anyway) for this to happen, you would have time to save a mantis or rhyniognatha. once it killes the insect it gains an insect killer buff similar to megatherium and can not embed into a creature until it is at 50% or less food Which is not likely to happen. The insect must be at 40% health for this unfortunate fate, the owner of the creature can call of their nemi whenever they wish. any method of removing the nemicolopterus will deal 200 damage to the insect. This attack does not work on arthropleuras or any non insect It will conver the insect's health into the Nemicolopterus' food if the Nemi is at full food it will detsach dealing 200 damage not ignoring armor of any kind. For Scouting Purposes this creature is fast unless it has recently killed by its signature insect killing technique and it can camoflague and fly so long as it has food and stamina.
  10. Common Name: Hatzegopteryx Species: Hatzegopteryx Thambema Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperment: Skittish WILD These Wild Hatzegopterx latch themselves onto the floating islands of The Center using their sharp claws to pierce even the toughest rocks. Survivors have said upon approaching it in the wild it lets out a loud disorienting screech and flees leaving survivors dazed. DOMESTICATED Finding these large Pterosaurs is challenging, but keep your eyes peeled when traveling the floating islands of The Center, as the Hatze have a brightly coloured mantle making them stand out in the shadows. Hold on tight! As taming this giant of the sky requires you to Grapple to its back all while force feeding the Hatze its prefered feed. Once tamed the Hatze makes a great all round flying mount for aerial combat using its huge claws to latch onto the largest of dinosaurs, leaving them bleeding. The Hatze can carry smaller dinos in its giant beak while carrying larger dinos in its claws, its size can be decieving being one of the fastest birds in its class, being able to dive at great hights due to its large wing span. The Hatzegopteryx has multiple saddles including a Mounted turret saddle which was mastered by survivors who dedicated their studies to this great flyer. Hatzegopteryx inhabites The Center and is the apex predator of the sky, tackling larger prey in flocks and using its loud screech to deter others.
  11. Keep your Wyverns, your Griffins and your Owls, we don't need them : with the Sinopterus, we're finally giving The Center the flyer it deserves ! Paleoart : American Museum of Natural History, NY Additional "art" : yours truly HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO FLY ? The Center is currently the map most in need of a remaster : it's showing its age, it has no unique creature at all... and it has also none of the most advanced flyers in the game. Give The Center some love ! With the Sinopterus, get yourself a creature designed for flight... in various forms. This bird can be used as a fighter jet, a hot air balloon... or, while young, even as a helicopter ! Combine different flight modes, saddles, and attacks, for optimal flexibility in the skies of Ark's oldest free DLC map. Finally. Look below for a breakdown of its abilities ! In its current state, the center of The Center is frustrating : you go through all that trouble to reach the floating island... and there is nothing special to see or do there. Adding the Sinopterus to this area would provide additional appeal to the floating island, and reward exploration. The Sinopterus is high maintenance, and will only go home with rich survivors ! Metal ingots are its favorite, but metal structures, ammunition or flak armor could also work. That said, bringing shiny gifts to this bird is actually the least of your problems... ...Grappling it will NOT work, as the Sinopterus is not grapple-able at all. A lasso, and nothing else ! And yes, this might require an Equus tame first. DON'T leave a tamed Sinopterus unattended while set to neutral : anyone dropping metal nearby could easily lure it away from where you parked it. TWO ADDITIONAL FLIGHT MODES ! By default, the Sinopterus flies at a rather efficient speed. But you might want to look into its two other flight modes, each coming with different advantages. As the Sinopterus is designed to complement existing flyers like the Argentavis or the Quetz, its saddles (plural !) unlock at the equivalent levels : You can still use the hyper speed mode with the basket saddle... but be careful, this is more dangerous for your passengers if you hit obstacles on the way ! With its rather weak health, the Sinopterus might not resist damage very well, but in hyper speed mode, a well-bred specimen might just fly through a turret wall faster than bullets ! All your tribe has to do is to pucker up in the basket, while you fly at the speed of light into your enemies' base... Pteranodon who ? Tip : if you go in and out of upside down mode fast enough, you can do barrels in the sky... which makes it even harder for the pilot of the Sinopterus to be aimed at. ATTACKS & ABILITIES Built for speed and movement, the Sinopterus also displays some light gathering and/or carrying abilities, useful for PvP or PvE. Lastly, the Sinopterus has a hidden ability, available only when it's young. It can't fly yet, but it sure is learning to ! With the wing flap, the Sinopterus can go upwards, and can also be stationary for a short time (it doesn't have the stamina of an adult !). The young Sinopterus' ability is not meant to replace or compete with the Sinomacrops. The idea is only to provide an additional flight mode, that doubles as a breeding incentive. Why you should vote for the Sinopterus - Childhood-exclusive ability : the wing flap - The Sinopterus is a tame that complements having an Argy and/or Quetz : it can't do what they do, and has its own perks - Fly upside down and tranq dinos while in stationary flight - Ride the Sinopterus' basket like a hot air balloon or bring passengers with you, who can shoot while you fly... - Built-in farming ability : gather in one fell swoop small amounts of almost any resources - Pick up dropped packages without getting off its saddle - Travel to your FOB at hyper speed while carrying almost infinite amounts of ammo ! PS : having two different ideas for The Center, a map I like very much but in dire need of a TLC, I decided to submit two creatures this time. I thought it'd be fun to be in a competition with myself, see what people respond to. Please also check out the Aquilarhinus 😊
  12. This is an animal I’m very passionate about and would love to see in game. It’s a Hawaiian bird that was native to the island of Kauai. Unlike most creatures submitted, this is one that went extinct extremely recently. The last female died in 1982 and her male partner was last heard in 1987. Nobody ever found the male, but there’s a recording on YouTube of him calling into the void, hoping that there was one more of the species alive, but they never answered back. The species was officially announced extinct in 1989 after an expedition turned up no clues of their existence. Diet: berries or keratin Temperament: docile likely to run when attacked Time Period: Holocene epoch(current) Behavior : The Kauai Ō’ō is a fascinating creature to behold in the wild. You will hear them long before you find them as their hauntingly beautiful call echos throughout the forests on the Center. Stories are told of a haunting, wailing of banshees on the floating island on the center. Curious survivors have learned that it is this bird of magnificent beauty and vocal possessions, making these sounds into the night . Ōō’s spend most of their time flying in and out of the canopies, calling out to each other in beautiful harmonies. It is near impossible to get the drop on them as the echo from their call reverberates off of any and all nearby creatures. It’s almost as if the frequency of their voices is in tune with the beat of the heart allowing them to always know exactly where anything is within a certain radius of their selves. This is most effective for them, when finding friends and mates from great distances away. While they are more likely to choose flight over fight They are capable of an extremely loud siren wail using this beautiful voice. It’s disorienting to even the largest of creatures, but doesn’t last very long. Taming : Taming an Ōō is a fun and simple matter. As they call out into the unknown all they want is to know there is someone out there calling back. A survivor that can not only find one, but also entice them with a beat and song of their own, will have made a great friend. The drums would make ok instruments to accompany their song and help them keep beat but something more melancholy and melodic would work better. Maybe a new item like a flute or ocarina to better mimic the haunting melody that they produce. Once a survivor has drawn in the attention of an Ōō you have to maintain the melody and match them putting on a beautiful duet. Be careful as this may be a beautiful show, but predators may be drawn into watch as well thinking it’s a dinner bell. Utility : I like the idea of a shoulder pet that can be easy to miss flying around enemy bases. Using parasaurs would be a hard counter in that case. But one the size of a desmodeous that can be a hard counter to wyverns or manas would be awesome as well. Here are ideas for both. As a shoulder pet: We all have lost a tame and spent time looking for them. These can be set to help you find tames almost like a tracker for tribe, owned creatures. I am even thinking with the idea of this working as a mating pair effect. You have to have one following the tame that you’re missing and the other one has to be the opposite sex and would use the call to look for that creature. It can even be a shoulder pet that can sit on your tames shoulder while the mate sits on your shoulder. Or you can use the flute/ocarina to communicate from a distance. The Ōō follows your tame and you use the instrument to call to it. As a rideable tame: As a large rideable tame they could be used to induce a deafening siren wail. This will disorient enemies, and enemy tames for a few seconds, they can either make it hard to move, or give an affect similar to drinking beer. This can also be used to knock flying and gliding tames out of the sky. They instantly drop and breath attacks like wyverns and manas would be disabled from the ensuing shriek. Playing the new item from on their back maybe can amplify the sound based attacks range. Both: Once tamed they can serve several reconnaissance purposes. Using their song they are able to sense the heartbeats of creatures, from vast distances. On PVE they can be used as not only a way to see creatures around you but also as transponders. On PVP they can be set to fly over enemy bases and ping how many enemies and tames are out in the open or hiding in buildings. Allowing raids to be more tactical or to help defend bases when you suspect somebody is lurking outside. Because it works off of heartbeats It is only limited to creatures that actually have beating hearts. Meks and striders would not be affected. Also, it would only have a certain depth into the water that it would be able to see.
  13. Meganeuropsis permiana Species Meganeura permiana Time Early permian Diet Carnivore Temperament Territorial Wild Meganeuropsis permiana is an absolutely gigantic dragonfly, even more so than Meganeura quatpenna. It’s larvae can grow up to the size of a basilosaurus, making it one of the top predators of the local ecosystem. It hunts by hiding at the bottom of it’s habitats waiting for unsuspecting prey to swim over it. Once it spots it’s meal it uses it’s special lower jaw to grab the critter and devour it. But it also excells in combat. With it’s lower jaw it has a great reach and hits hard, while it’s chitin armour protects it from damage. When permiana’s maturation is complete it sheds it’s skin and emerges as an adult dragonfly. In this form it sacrifices it’s combat prowess in exchange for extreme flight speed and mobility as well as high carrying strength. But it’s still a formidable opponent, being able to grab smaller creatures, including survivors, mid flight and eat them. Like many modern Dragonflies the males protect their nesting grounds and attack anything in it’s territory with swift attacks until they find a partner for mating. Domesticated Once tamed, the permiana is a useful asset in every tribe. It’s adult form is a great beast of burden with high speeds and it’s semiaquatic larval form is a fierce fighter that can take on many enemies at once. Also, the permiana is able to stay in it’s larval form indefinetely, only shedding it’s skin when it’s owner commands it to do so, giving them the choice whether they want a strong battle mount or a fast scout. Concept Meganeuropsis permiana is a prehistoric insect very similar to modern dragonflies and probably the biggest flying insect to have ever lived. Dragonflies are best known for their adult form, flying fast and agile and hunting smaller insects, but dragonfly larvae are equally as vicious as dragonflies and are ambush predators, hiding at the bottom of their habitat and catching other insects, tadpoles, or even small fish! When tamed it starts out in it’s larval form. It is supposed to be an alternative to the basilo for caving, hunting and fighting. It is semiaquatic and can survive and fight on dry land, making it viable for swamps or caves which are only partially submerged in water. But one of Meganeuropsis permiana’s key features is the ability to leave it’s larval form and become an adult dragonfly. The Dragonfly form of Meganeuropsis permiana is exactly what you would imagine: a gigant dragonfly able to carry a rider and a swift and agile flyer. It loses it’s ability to swim and isnt too fast on the ground, being primarily a beast of burden and scouting tame. Abilities Larvae: -AOE main attack with it’s lower jaw -hydration buff, making it more viable in aquatic environments -grab attack: it can grab and damage a single creature, similar to karkinos -slight damage reduction (maybe 10 or 20%) due to it’s chitin armour Dragonfly: -360 degree turning(on the spot) -very fast flight in every direction, but can only sprint forwards -can grab creatures to carry them, or if activated slowly damage them to regain food -thanks to it’s extremely advanced eyes it can spot and highlight certain creatures which the player chooses in a menu -high weight and stamina stat for resource hauling and looting/scouting flights -can cling to walls and trees to regain stamina (like real dragonflies which often sit on plants to regain stamina :)) Equipment: -standard saddle, useable for both forms -tek saddle for dragonfly which enables it to shoot plasma bolts and perform a dash dealing damage to everything it collides with. (Larval form can also shoot plasma bolts, if you can come up with some special ability which suits it please reply) -No rider weaponry because the larvae should be strong enough and the dragonfly isn't supposed to be too much of a fighter Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meganeuropsis Wikipedia article to modern dragonflies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonfly
  14. Common name: Pelecanus Schreiberi Species name: P. Schreiberi Time: Early Pliocene Diet: Meat Temperament: Docile Wild I’ve never seen a pelican so large, but the Pelecanus Schreiberi was a species that we barely had any information on in my time. Even still like many creatures on the arks, this one seems to be bigger than any normal pelican size. This large bird spends its time flying overhead across the coast and oceans looking for food from high above before diving down at great speeds to snatch up prey from below. Domesticated Though not much of a fighter, other tribes have used the Pelecanus Schreiberi to go on hunting trips being able to bring back an assortment of small prey dead or alive to eat or tame. Some more daring hunters have used this great bird to dive deeper into the ocean in search of bigger and more dangerous things to hunt. A giant pelican, reaching sizes similar to the angentavis. Comes with a variety of potential abilities and features at its disposal. (more photos will be added as get them) Aquatic catcher Using its big bill, it can catch live or dead smaller animals into its mouth to hold onto for players to use for other purposes such as taming shadowmanes. Diver Like real pelicans, it will be able to dive underwater and (with a slow oxygen drain) swim around underwater to scout around and find prey to feast upon. Fish harvester Gains higher amounts of prime fish meat and fish meat from fish and other aquatic creatures. Bane of aquatic life Gains higher attack stats while fighting creatures that live within water. Potential tek saddle Similar to the tek helmet worn by players, the can gain the pelecanus schreiberi gains the ability to permanently breath underwater (at the cost of using element). The Tek suit may come with built in flashlights to help see in dark water. In addition It could also possibly have thrusters attached to the saddle to give the pelican a boost while flying or swimming underwater (while burning element) to cover more ground or escape enemies. Other potential abilities Option A: Spitter With things In its mouth, it can spit them back out and fire them at opponents to deal damage at the long range. It can shoot live creatures and also various materials such as stone, metal, silica pearls and black pearls (deals more damage than the silica pearls) and maybe even loaded cryopods to deploy creatures from afar. Option B: baby carrier Using its beak and bill, it can possibly carry babies from point A to point B safety inside its bill (minus bigger babies like Rexs would it would have to carry on the outside). Option C stun dive When high up in the air you can dive down into the water, dealing stun to anything in the area around it (much like what real pelicans do) Other info Taming method: A standard knockout tame, prefers superior kibble, then prime fish meat. (Only eats fish meat/prime fish meat when tamed) Saddle level 50-65 range Tek saddle unlocked by beating one of the center bosses or reaching a higher level like the 90-100 range? Spawns along the coast and across the oceans, hunts fish in the water peacefully unless attacked first then will either engage its foe or fly away If knocked out over or under water it will float on the surface of the water. Not much is known about this animal irl. We only have incomplete fossils of it that show us this pelican seems to have gone extinct with no future dependents. It was also similar in size to the great white pelican (though obviously for this game we have scaled this creature up to be more useful). Overall I believe this creature would be a fun idea and would provide a new way of assisting in taming of certain creatures and traversing the map in ways not seen often in the game. I’d be happy just seeing this creature make the top tens, thank you for the support! (I’m also open to suggestions and criticism to make the best creatures it can possibly be) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelecanus_schreiberi Thanks wiki for the info on this creature.
  15. Hatzegopteryx Spiecies: Hatzegopteryx thambema Time: Maastrichtian of the Cretaceous. Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild I never imagined I would see such a big bird that seems to almost rival the mighty Quetzalcoatl in size! They do not seem to be very friendly to humans, and larger creatures don't seem to be interesting to them at all. They seem to mostly fly around the big floating island at the center of the map, it seems almost impossible for one to even come near to these flying beasts, and it seems that they almost never need to land to rest their mighty wings. Domesticating this wild creature might be near impossible. Domesticated Some survivors have attempted taming the beasts and after many failed attempts with many deaths as a result they finally succeeded in taming these flying titans. The method that ended up being a success is rather morbid though. They were taunting the beasts and since they are aggressive towards humans by nature it made them follow them home in rage. They then took out living baby dinosaurs, this made the creature stop its wrath for a short moment and it then switched target to the baby dinosaurs. The insane survivors then fed it baby dinosaurs and that kept the creature docile until it was completely domesticated by mankind. When a domesticated Hatzegopteryx seems to be an all around good flier although it doesn't have the mighty weight of a Quetzalcoatl or the speed of a pteradon, this bird is one of the mightiest air fighters ever seen. Even seems to have a kind of fighting instinct that lets it lock on to dinosaurs going into a kind of state of rapid positional changes much like the Tapejara way of flying through the air. They seems to have a certain ability to eat up small dinosaurs and getting more meat out of them, even getting prime meat out of smaller sized dinosaurs too, and if that isn't enough it has picked up a tendency if it is left by a creature its owner is in the process of taming, it will use its mighty wings to blow away hostile dinosaurs and scream to alert its owner. It has the will to save its owner from danger by flying over them, grabbing them with its beak and throwing them onto their saddle if called for. Stats It will have less weight than a Quetzalcoatl But will be rather slower than a Pteranodon, but not as slow as a Quetzalcoatl. Abilities On the ground: Left mouse button will cause the beast to attack (if done against small creatures it will instakill it). While flying: Left mouse button will cause normal attacks similar to the very similar to a Quetzalcoatl. On the ground: Pressing spacebar makes it take off into the air While flying: Holding spacebar makes it glide down through the air, much like the Rockdrake but with the advantage of already being able to fly. Gliding makes it regain some stamina since it's almost resting while gliding down which is also well combined with the button that creates a big burst of speed sending the beast dashing forward Right click: locks on to a target for a short while, if held it will keep its focus on the nearest dinosaur(if done in the air it will hover like a Tapejara, to make combat easier) C button On the ground: Will make it flap its win in front of it making knocking back dinosaurs, even doing a little bit of damage While flying: Will make it do a dash in the targeted direction making it dive into the target doing a good amount of damage to the target and making them bleed for a short period of time. But this will also be consuming a large amount of stamina, can also be used to give the glide more momentum and travel far distances fast. / On the ground: Lets the Hatzegopteryx grab creatures in certain sizes with its beak and carry them around. While flying: It will also carry creatures but if used on a bigger hostile dinosaur it will apply a temporary bleed to the target. Rescue mode: Holding the button on the Hatzegopteryx will open the interaction wheel for the dinosaur and there will be an option called Rescue mode. With rescue mode enabled: If called upon with a whistle the Hatzegopteryx will instantly fly to its owners rescue by picking them up with its beak and throwing them onto their saddle saving them from danger. Taming protection It has by default the ability if it is left by a creature its owner is in the process of taming, it will use its mighty wings to blow away hostile dinosaurs and scream to alert its owner. Meat gather: When killing small creatures such as Dodo’s, compy’s, Dilo’s and Oviraptor’s, they will get insta killed and consumed immediately. They will get more meat and have a big chance to also get prime meat from them, even though they are smaller dinosaurs. This will also apply to babies. Well feed boost: When the Hatzegopteryx eats a baby dinosaur it will gain temporary increased speed and decreased stamina consumption(the speed will rival that of the wyvern). Taming: The Hatzegoperyx is by nature aggressive towards humans, so it will chase anyone in a deep rage. By luring the Hatzegoperytx to your home and show them a baby dinosaur, it will immediately switch target from you to the dinosaur, by feeding them the baby dinosaur it will progress the tamebar and the Hatzegoperytx will remain calm as long as you keep feeding it. You will have to do this until it's completely domesticated.
  16. One of the largest arks, and one with the largest stretches of land, there are many things to see on Ragnarok, and many dangers scattered around the various biomes. One creature however, has adapted to live comfortably in any of the many environments on Rag, and has worked its way up the food chain not through brawn, but through intelligence. Introducing Caudipteryx! One of the most intelligent, diverse, and surprisingly ruthless creatures on Rag! Caudipteryx are medium sized creatures, about the same size as a carno. When wild, they can be found walking, running, flying, or even swimming around, often hunting smaller creatures- or avoiding larger ones. Though they usually see a survivor as food, the intelligence of this creature isn't to be underestimated. If they sense danger or take too much damage, they'll simply run away. Likewise if they observe survivors cooperating with other creatures, it can peak their interest... Just don't get too close to one, or you'll be faced with their razor-sharp beaks and the weaponized feathers on their necks. Taming method- Caudipteryx will become nuetral and avoid, but watch the player if they have a shoulder pet. If they observe the player feeding their shoulder pet, they may come close and accept food, though each Caudipteryx prefers a different food, ranging from sarco skin, allo brain, yuty lung, basilo blubber, and tuso tentacles. After feeding a Caudipteryx enough, they will enter a passive state and allow the player to mount them, causing the player to have time exact key presses to avoid being thrown off. Survive the ride and you'll earn the trust of the Caudipteryx to be your own. Abilities Bite- Their sharp beaks can harvest wood, berries, meat, and have an affinity for gathering special drops. Defeating a creature such as a sarco with the bite attack has a chance to double the tribute items you receive. Double Jump- Caudipteryx are able to do a sort of double jump by flapping their wings, and attacking while airborne causes them to slash at the ground, dealing extra damage while avoiding the attacks of other creatures. Flight- By holding spacebar, Caudipteryx can fly and glide, though these actions use a lot of stamina. Swimming- Caudipteryx are excellent swimmers, and have adapted to be able to breathe underwater, still able to bite and use their feather projectiles underwater. They can even harvest pearls! Feather Throw- Caudipteryx can aim and fire off the feathers from their necks, which are surprisingly durable and sharp! Being struck with a feathery slows and bleeds those hit. Defense Mode- Caudipteryx are intelligent enough to be excellent defense creatures, you can mark an allied tame or player, yourself, or your own structures in defense mode, and even help your Caudipteryx record a path if you want to. By default, Caudipteryx will remain still around their marked target, but if they sense any hostility toward the target, they'll enter a turret mode and fire off feathers at the hostile, they can even shoot down explosives! If they or their target take damage in this state, Caudipteryx will actively attempt to avoid incoming attacks and keep firing their feathers, making them incredibly deadly on defense. If an enemy player or tame gets too close, they'll resort to using their bite and claw attacks, and do everything they can to defend the marked target. If a path is marked, they'll even patrol the path and perform the same actions. Caudipteryx that get separated from their marked target will even automatically make their way back to it. Scout Mode- When commanded into scout mode, Caudipteryx can lock onto any creature, player, or structure and identify levels, health, torpidity, food, and armor levels of their target! When placed on scout mode without a rider, Caudipteryx will enter a form of turret mode and remain still, identifying nearby hostiles by locking onto them and revealing them to allies until the enemy gets too far away. They can't detect multiple creatures like a parasaur, but the target they lock onto will be permanently visible to their allies until unmarked! Crouch- While on the ground, Caudipteryx can crouch very low to the ground and use their flexible limbs to sort of "slither" forward. They can fit through crouch spaces! Passive Defense- If a creature tries to dismount their rider, be it a flyer, purlovia, or even a thyla, Caudipteryx will instead launch an automatic counter attack and stun the offending creature. And the last ability of Caudipteryx, is their rest ability! Caudipteryx feathers, just not the ones on their necks, are very soothing and soft. If a Caudipteryx cuddles up to an allied player or dino and uses their rest ability, all the allies in range will start to get a slight healing buff, and players will be completely insulated from the elements while nearby! If Caudipteryx has extra food, it will even feed starving allies by 10 food points to prevent them from starving to death. And that's it for Caudipteryx, all terrain and with many uses, I hope you like them! The image is an ai generated representation of what I think they should look like.
  17. Description: This dino is nearly or as big as a Quetzal. The Hatzegopteryx can dive at the speed of a Snow Owl. Saddle: The Hatzegopteryx can have a saddle that has a bomber (Controlled by the person flying this beast) and a ball turret gunner (A saddle that can have 2 passengers for this to work). The ball turret can take advanced rifle bullets and the Bombs can be out of grenades. The bombs can only be used while diving and the ball turret can only be used while flying. Aggressive Taming: The taming will not be traditional. You need to sneak up on it with meat or kibble (Takes extraordinary kibble) and feed it and try not to die because if it notices you it will pick you up and drop you (You probably need more than just Gillie). Domesticated: You can use the gunship saddle because you've tamed it but now you have a powerhouse of a creature to use. Other: The creature cannot be taken into a boss fight and of course, cannot be taken into a cave. The ball turret will be placed under the center of the dino and the Bombs will be dropped from the back of the dino. The saddle will be very expensive. Cannot be netted. Sorry for any typos and grammar mistakes but who is excited about ASA.
  18. Hello everybody I hope I'm not late to the party but here's my first creature submission ENJOY!!!! DOSSIER Common Name: Thanatosdrakon Species: Thanatosdrakon amaru Time: Upper Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: For a long time i thought quetzalcoatlus was the largest pterosaur, until i meet this "monster", thanatosdrakon amaru also known as "Death Dragon" wich is a very fitting name, is a large pterosaur, similar in apparence to the quetz but far more bigger, agressive and "brave", this creature is able to hunt everything in his way but not only limiting to other flying creatures, Thanatosdrakon is very capable of hunting even land creatures with relative ease, i theorized that the only real threat for this apex predator are the wyverns, but that theory went down really fast after seeing a Thanatosdrakon eating the corpse of a fire wyvern. It appears that thanatosdrakon has evolved to become the definitive apex predator from the skies and to show how unfair evolution can be, these creature can mimic the elemental powers, after one one of those creatures dive right into the wyvern cave, he emerged back irradiating an intense green color and an strange cloud was surrounding his body, it's clear that he just eat a poison wyvern egg, with all these adaptations i theorize that the thanatosdrakon serves as some kind of population control for the wyverns. Domesticated: Taming one of these beasts sounds like an impossible task and after hearing how a tribe tamed one i'm 100% sure that who wants to tame one has 0% appreciation for his life, however they are a force to be reckoned with, they are extremely good battle beasts, unlike the wyverns who rely on his elemental attacks this creature doesn't need that to be considered a deadly threat, but if you want extra power you can give this beast with wyvern eggs and he will "absorb" the strength of it, making the thanatosdrakon a very versatile creature. TAMING To tame a thanatosdrakon you need a bunch of wyvern eggs (any elemen works) a bunch of parachutes, one good shield and a lot of confidence in yourself, first you need attract him to land and then throw a wyvern egg in front of him, he will get all his attention to the egg and he will proceed to eat, while he's eating you have to run to him and press E and you will have to do a rodeo minigame in the sky similar to andrewsarchus, he will kick you off but you have to use your parachute, while you are falling he will still try to eat you use your shield or have a friend to pick you with a fast flying mount, after a few tries it will be ready to ride. ABILITIES Peck: Normal attack that allow the thanatosdrakon to farm meat and do damage (Right Mouse Click). Wing Beat and Barrel Roll: If you are in land this attack is a wing beat that push and stun dinos away from you but if you do it while flying this attack is a barrel roll that stuns only flying creatures sending them to land (Left Mouse Click). Grab: Thanatosdrakon is capable of carrying the same type of creatures that a quetz can (CTRL + Left Mouse Click). Mimic: The main ability thanatosdrakon has is being able to mimic up to 2 elemental powers from the wyvern's (fire, electric, poison and ice) to activate this ability you need to feed him an egg and he will gain the ability of that specific egg, obviously he will not get only a fire breath or lighting breath like the wyverns, he will get his own different attacks. Fire egg: He gains the ability to clap his wings to create a fire explosion similar to the phoenix. Lightning egg: He gains the ability to do a barrel roll in a straight line doing damage to anything close and obviously to what it direct hits. Poison egg: He gains the ability to create a cloud surrounding him that deals dps for a period of time. Ice egg: He gains a temporary ice armor that decrease damage taken by 30% and reduce his speed by 15% (does not work on any fire related attacks). *To use any of these attacks you need to press C and if you want to switch between elements you only need to click CTRL + C* Skylord: Thanatosdrakon has a passive ability called "skylord" which increase the damage to any flying creature in a 20% Diving Swipe: It also has the ability to dive however it does not have a final explosion when he hits land and it does not increase the speed if you look up like the griffin or snow owl, however you can still do extra damage if you hit while diving. Royal Eater: Being the king of the skies requires the best kind of food, so thanatosdrakon is a good prime meat farmer. Roar: Just a cosmetic roar to look badass while flying (CTRL).
  19. Head note: I haven't looked around to see if anyone else has proposed this before for other maps, but this is my take on the Thalassodromeus. Genus: Thalassodromeus sethi Common Name: Thalassodromeus Researched Background Thalassodromeus is a genus of pterosaur that lived in what is now Brazil during the Early Cretaceous period, about a hundred million years ago. Thalassodromeus had one of the largest known skulls among pterosaurs, around 1.42 m (4 ft 8 in) long, with one of the proportionally largest cranial crests of any vertebrate. Though only the skull is known, the animal is estimated to have had a wingspan of 4.2 to 4.5 m (14 to 15 ft). The Thalassodromeus was thought to be a Skimmer Bird - skimming over water's surface and catching fish but also small prey on the coast lands, they later developed to fly in-land in search of opportunistic encounters. This is ideal for transversing the large map of Ragnarok. Wild Behavior Temperament: Aggressive Diet: Carnivore (but tames off Fish) Then Thalassodromeus can be seen circling around riverland areas, looking for it's next meal and rarely landing for a break. Unlike the skittish Tapajara and the docile Pteranodon, the intelligent Thalassodromeus sees human survivors as ideal prey but only if it can wear them down. For larger adversaries, the Thalassodromeus utilises lightning fast hit and run tactics to chip away at it's prey until it can feed. When endangered or close to death, the Thalassodromeus will fly away similarly to the Tapajara. While not suited for in-air combat or carrying a lot of items, the Thalassodromeus is a great hunter of the lands and waters below. Domesticated Abilities Gliding & Long Distance Flight - Thalassodromeus rarely flaps its wings in the air which is ideal for long distance flights, and will steadily use it's wide wingspan to maintain itself in the air. While it is unable to manuever as smoothly as a Tapajara, the Thalassodromeus is faster has 2 flight modes to switch between Gliding and Hovering. Able to fly and skate across water - When the Thalassodromeus flies onto water, it is able to skate across the water at a speed slightly faster than a Bloodstalker. It may grab creatures on the surface of the water which are smaller than a survivor, including fish to heal itself (potentially similarly to an Argentavis?). The rider won't be dismounted when it interacts with water. Grabbing - Can pick up creatures in it's beak up to the size of a survivor and can crunch down on them with it's powerful blade-like, robust jaws. Primary Attack - Bite Secondary Attack - Head bash attack which inflicts a stun. (15s cooldown) Increased spoiler times for perishables Taming Method The survivor must submerge themselves in water near a Thalassodromeus which will start the taming process. It will then repeatedly swoop down on onto the water directly above and this will give the survivor a moment to feed them Raw Prime Fish Meat / Superior Kibble. If the survivor isn't completely submerged under water, the Thalassodromeus will attack instead. Be sure to hold your breath well, and keep an eye out for piranhas and other dangers! Thank you for reading my suggestion.
  20. My idea for Ragnarok is the “Sky Yuty” the Kalligrammatids, a way to get sap efficiently considering we’d not instantly have acces to the sap giving tree stumps when ASA launches so this would be a good substitute, a creature that works well with the other creatures that dropped with this map originally (Ice Wyvern and Griffin) and another useful flyer since there’s a con about basically every flyer. First off for spawns I’d feel like it’d be at home mainly in the large redwood forests aswell as perhaps the canyons and highlands/wyvern den they’d behave similar to a Quetzal and Tapejara at the same time, flying somewhat high in the sky and never landing like the Quetzal but being very skittish like the Tapejara, I also think that due to its aerial buffing nature it’d be interesting if it’d not get attacked by other wild flyers and perhaps receive protection from them similar to the Ammonite. Next up for abilities, Left click: simple attack with legs or sucky straw Right click: pickup in the air (can pick up similar things to an Argent or Desmodus) and wing flap on the ground similar to a Wyvern C button: a buffing call that’d mainly buff things essential for flyers like for example: weight reductions, stamina based buffs, reduced damage (especially for projectile based attacks) and maybe a speed buff for slowpokes like the Quetzal, Argent and Astrocetus (Space Whale) . X: taunt/debuff, would work similar to the Rhyniognatha’s taunt on small creatures and/or would give survivors a debuff where they take increased fall damage or can’t use parachutes, glide suits etc to increase the effectiveness of picking people off mounts with flyers. Passive(‘s): wouldn’t get attacked by flyers (possibly only for wild ones), could potentially buff other flyers passively for example a slight buff in resistance, stamina regen, speed or damage and the Kalligrammatids could maybe gain a small buff by being around other flyers maybe even from specific ones like gaining a slight fire resistance from Fire Wyverns or being able to land on water like the Rhyniognatha when near a Pelagornis. Movement: on the ground it’d be pretty slow and not agile similar to the Lymantria like real world butterflies but in the air also similar to real butterflies would have a speed in between the Tapejara and Pteranodon while also being very agile like the Tapejara, Griffin, Desmodus and Rhyniognatha allowing it to go sideways, up, down etc. Stats/Tier: in terms of health it’d be similar to the Argentavis due to its bulk and size (might drop a size reference later), the stamina would be in between that of a Pteranodon and Argentavis with it having similar weight to a Desmodus maybe slight higher due to its size and large wings, in terms of damage it’d only deal low amounts of damage similar to Gasbags although probably slightly higher damage. Diet: Sap, Blood, Rare Flowers also that being the order of preference when taming, sap being the Mejoberry/raw meat, blood being the crop/prime meat and the rare flowers being the kibble or at least similar to mutton in effectiveness. Drops: would definitely drop: Raw meat and Chitin and would also maybe drop: Prime meat, Silk and/or Sap. Sap production/gatherer: there’s 3 ways I can invision this critter collecting sap, number 1 being: it buffing already existing sap taps maybe working extra well with Amargasaurus (could also apply for the other methods in some way) number 2: it collecting sap from the smaller redwood trees when it destroys them similar to how a Desmodus collects blood packs from creatures unlike any other creature, number 3 (and my favorite one): it hanging onto redwood trees like the Tapejara and with that passively collecting sap at a faster pace than tree sap taps (since tree sap taps are slow and look boring) . Taming method: eat a rare flower, this causes the Kalligrammatids to smell said rare flower and/or your sweat (like real life butterflies sorry for exposing this weird fact) which causes them to want to come close, this causes a sort of minigame in which other creatures will attack u (which wouldn’t damage the Kalligrammatids) but it’s not like u can fight back because that would scare it off, when it comes close enough and if you’ve survived upto this point you can passively feed it the earlier mentioned taming foods. My reason for choosing this creature: we already have a butterfly (I know it’s a moth but they’re very similar things) but it’s useless so I thought it’d be cool to get a new one, besides that the only useful insect is still pretty much just the Rhyniognatha so why not add another one + a giant butterfly would look insanely cool and I feel like with the ground work of this submission and the creatures we’ve been getting lately (mainly the Rhyniognatha and Carchar) I feel like the possibilities for this thing could be endless, especially on a new engine, besides that I just really wanted to add a creature that’d fit the map and the other Ragnarok exclusive creatures (eventhough they’re not really exclusive atp) which brought me to a flyer that could buff others + sap is hard to get and this way it’s way more fun than waiting on your tree sap taps + it’d fit the map perfectly with it being a majestic high flying flyer that could possibly roam above the huge cliffs (the ones with the armies of Spinos at the bottom), roam around the red forest’s canopies and could fly around the wyvern trench (like other insects). Hope you like this submission, if I can I’ll get some art to get a perspective on design and size, leave suggestions down below if you want (sadly the only good picture I could find is too big to add to the submission so you’re gonna have to Google it yourself if u want but to be fair we all know what a butterfly looks like). 21. I haven’t read through the other things yet, if it turns out this has already been submitted I apologies The darwinopterus is a small, flying carnivore that tends to be found in warmer parts of ragnorok. Female darwinopterus tend to lack the crest on the top of their heads which makes it so it’s incredibly easy to tell the two apart, these small pterosaurs tend to be much more colourful then most other creatures which makes them easier to spot whilst flying around. Because of this, Darwinopterus use their small body as an advantage and often fly or run behind rocks and into cramped spaces. They often flee when attacked and eat bodies that have been left around or hunt things smaller things like dodos, jerboas, etc, they can be domesticated in two different ways. 1• petting, feeding and protecting one. Younger darwinopterus are often found near the older ones and are the only type that can be tamed this way, the older ones are a bit more complicated. 2• killing small dinos, dragging their corpses to an adult darwinopterus and letting it eat it. Once you’ve done it a few times the darwinopterus will gain your trust begin following you around, then you do the same thing again. once it allows you to pick it up, grab it and it’ll tame. Tamed darwinopterus don’t have much they can do other then climbing onto your shoulder. However, they do have a couple helpful abilities that make them pretty useful! 1• grabbing items darwinopterus are able to grab items that you throw to them, you can also make them grab things by throwing that at the item. This is helpful for things like stealing wyvern eggs since it makes it easier to grab them without making wyverns attack you, they can also hold weapons in their mouth and attack from your shoulder if not on passive mode. (Only once tamed) 2• stealing from survivors (pvp) if you throw one at a survivor it’ll grab a random item from their inventory and bring it back to you. This will mostly be helpful for pvp though and is mostly useless on pve (unless your trying to annoy your sibling on a single player world. Also wild ones are NOT able to steal) 3• stat boosts These small critters love pets and cuddles, whenever you pet one it’ll temporarily boost their stats a small bit, which is good to do before making them steal from other players since it’ll also boost their speed and health incase they try to fight back despite have multiple good abilities, there’s also a few cons of owning them, such as their low stats, darwinopterus have low health, melee and stamina usually. However they do have decent weight ————————— https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwinopterus

  23. Ectopistes migratorius ,also known as passenger pigeon,it was hunted to extinction for it's feathers. This pigeon would be a shoulder pet, and would have a bag for poison grenade's that it could drop on enemies, it would also have a poisonous poop that would give enemies swamp fever. And you would be able to put items into it's inventory and assign it where to go,players, creatures, storage bins, etc. This is a Wikipedia link to this creature https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passenger_pigeon
  24. [Passive Abilities.] Water Collection: While around a body of water or well, the Bennu Heron is able to soak its feathers with water (The capacity of such can be increased via the oxygen stat). The Bennu uses this water for two purposes, such as... - Stayin' Cool: The Bennu grants both itself and its rider a buff that grants resistance to the fire debuff and moderate hyperthermal insulation. A second, more potent version of this buff with greater insulating effects and complete damage negation from any fire-based attack is applied during heatwaves, but drains the water supply at a faster. - Clay Maker: Any sand placed in a Bennu's inventory will be slowly crafted into clay, the water being used as an alternative to cactus sap. A flock of Bennu can serve as a superior method of clay production than the mortar, giving survivors something better to work with in the time before they acquire a chem bench. *This ability is a reference to the fact that the mythological Bennu played a part in the creation of the world in Egyptian mythos. Sand Guard: During sandstorms, a tamed and unmounted Bennu will form an umbrella with its wings in a similar manner to a fishing Black Heron. Taking shelter beneath a Bennu's wings will grant a survivor with the same buff a tent would. Phoenix Detector: Bennus possess the ability to detect the presence of a Phoenix, be it in their dormant ashen state or while active during a heatwave, making the process of finding these legendary firebirds significantly easier. *This Ability is meant to reference the association between the mythological Bennu and Phoenix, as the Egyptian legend of the former is believed to have inspired the Greek legend of the latter. Aerial Acrobatics: Though lacking in strengh or durability, Bennu make up for this with agility. Able to both dive and barrel roll, a skilled Bennu pilot can easily evade most threats. However, to go airborne they require either a running start or to launch themselves off a ledge. [Attacks.] Left click: - On ground, a precise, low-damage beak stab/bite that deals heavily increased damage to fish and can grab objects, such as dropped item caches and eggs. - In air, a talon strike much like the owl or argent. Low damage but fast attack rate. Right Click: - On ground, a precise kick that deals heavy knock-back and stun to small animals. - In air, a heavy wingflap that unleashes a gust of wind with an AoE knock-back, not unlike that of the Tropeo. Special/C Button: - On ground, the Bennu stretches its wings and does a water dance, removing all gathered water from its feathers but granting nearby allies the "Keepin' Cool" buff and watering crop plots. If held, it instead simply emotes, stretching its wings and letting out a honking call. - In air, essentially the same except instead of an AoE the shaken water is dropped directly below the Bennu's flight path in a similar manner to a crop duster plane. Better for if you want to drop the water directly onto crop plots. [Taming.] Possible Taming Method 1: Similar to Carch, one must provide the Bennu with corpses of small animals (Preferably fish) to gain its trust. Once it trusts you enough, you can either hand-feed it directly or provide it with precious materials like ingots, crystal and obsidian to earn its favor. Possible Taming Method 2 (And the one I prefer): One must approach a Bennu in its pond to initiate the tame in a similar manner to an Amarga. Once the tame has begun, the Bennu will find a good spot and assume a fishing stance. While in this stance, you must provide the Bennu with fishing bait (Sap, leech blood, honey) to lure in fish. - Fish lured in by higher quality bait will lure in more effective fish for taming progress. - Loss of taming affinity is prevented by ensuring the Bennu does not go without access to bait for prolonged period of time.
