  1. Ever since the TLC of the argy, the quetzal has been less and less used. They are basly a flying raft right now used mostly for moving dinos and taming with cannons. When cryo pods come out again they will be used even less. I really believe this big bird needs a TLC. My suggestion for a start would be to lower weight on ammo (due to his main use is to tame/ combat in pvp) Another idea that would make many love this dino again is a tek saddle with a medium transporter on its back. This would bring a major use for both pve and pvp. Make the saddle unlock with any boss that unlocks transporters. And for the down side, make it have to have element on him and cant be cryoed wirh saddle on him. the tek saddle would make havesting and taming alot more effect without need for random structures everywhere just for transporters. And it being medium size, the really big dinos like stryders and gigas cant really use it.
  2. I saw that it looks like a lot of people have already made their own creatures for Valguero. You can post them here (and we'll take a look)
  3. I'm not saying that all flyers should have dives with the speed of a Snow Owl or Griffon, but I feel like all flyers should have some form of the mechanic. I think with the removal of movement speed leveling on official servers it would be a good time to implement something like this! I believe it would my aerial battles much more dynamic as well. I think it could also be a good way to implement features that make each flyer more unique as well. A really big creature such as the quetzal diving would create a lot of wind pressure, maybe enough to trigger a wind gust like the wyvern wing flap? I just feel that diving makes sense as a base mechanic for flyers, and would also create a new opportunity to make some flyers more unique or useful in new ways!
  4. I would love to see a sort of breaching mechanic for water tames in ASA. With the new water physics I think it's a perfect time to implement something like this. My idea is when the creature leaps out of the water you can dive back in for a small speed boost. There are of course tames that this wouldn't make total sense for (sorry Plessy) but seeing Ichthys, Mantas, or even Megs breaching out of the water would be an amazing sight to see!
  5. I'm trying to get my dossier to fit but It seems my files are too big to send how do I fix this.
  6. READ THIS TEXT BEFORE YOU JUDGE MY IDEA I'm currently learning English so if you find any type of grammatical error please let me know. Also, I did my best to draw the concept art, but still, in my opinion, it is very bad. But, you can't judge any type of submission by design, but with their mechanics and Gimmicks (at least in my opinion). Of course it helps to give the viewer a picture of the creature itself so it is very important piece of the submission, that's why I did that "master piece". ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Hi! This is my first time submiting a creature concept, so I hope that you like it! ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Dossier Information Commun name: Edmontosaurus Species: Edmontosaurus incuruptus Time: Late Cretacic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Aggresive Wild "I covered a very good chunk of the Wastelands, but I didn't see one single time that this massive creatures weren't alongside some type of corrupted creature, and sometimes, various types of them. They weren't attacking or intimidating each other. I think that they have a symbiotic relationship, like Carnotaurus and Yutyranus have." "Even though it is obviously a herbivore, doe to its herbivore like atonomy, I didn't saw a single speciemen feeding of berries or plants or even drinking water. This obviously happens because of the lack of food and water that the Wastelands have to offer." Domesticated "When domesticated, this creatures have two main uses: battling basicly any type of living being and gathering and storing important corrupted resources, and it does those things fantastically. If any survivor as at least one of them, they are prepared to face of basicly every single threat that they come up with, specially Element involved threats, like corrupted animals, doe to its roar that somehow only intimidates the heartless creatures." ------------------------‐---‐-------------- How do they communicate with the Corrupted Creatures? In the first few days of their life as an adult, they don't know how to make any type of contact with the brainless creatures, some weak and/or curious Edmontosaurus even dye trying, but the most patient ones listen to their calls and cries of the corrupted animal, and then they mysteriously associatte their noises to cries and roars to what they mean. When they learned how to communicate, the Edmontosaurus slowly approuch the corrupted creatures's packs. While doing so, they start to move their nostrils, to emit copies of noises of the bloodthirsty monsters. The creatures quickly realise that they want to be part of the group, and normaly they let them enter. How do the Edmontosaurus react with Element? Their skin absorbs Element when this substance touches it, so Tek weaponry doesn't affect this creature at all. When absorbed, it is stored in its sail. When their sail Element reservoir space is almost depleting, the Edmontosaurus start to freneticly rub its sail. While doing that, the Element starts to liquidate. After that, it regurgitates it. This Element like substance can be used as a normal Element. The regurgitation process isn't dangerous because of its special enzyme that it produces alongside of its saliva that makes the Edmontosaurus insides invulnerable to the Element effects. How do the Edmontosaurus find food and water in the Wasteland Zone? They don't. When Edmontosaurus are born, the yolk of their egg is so big, that it has nutrients for mouths before it straves to death. This creature doesn't need to live long though, since the most important actions that they need to do in its life is to grow to adulthood and then breed. But when domesticated, this cycle breaks, doe to having acess to food. ------------------------‐---‐-------------- In- Game Overall Description Size (largest specimen) Height: 3 metres or 9 ft Length: 15 metres/49 ft Weigth: 4 metric tons/4.4 short tons Taming Method: Knock-Out Torpor Drop Rate: Average Most of the creatures defend themselfs from the corrupted creatures, and some sucumb from the Element itself, while Edmontosaurus takes advantage of this alien plague. The heartless, bloodthirsty and territorial nature of this creature makes it one of the brutest creature in the Wasteland Zone, feared from almost every animal that steps on its territory. They are so aggressive that they don't even tolerate other Edmontosaurus, but, surprisingly, it helps corrupted creatures when they are hunting and in exchange they will give it protection, even though that it is more than capable of defending themselfs. When a Edmontosaurus is tamed, it stops being friendly to the corrupted creatures, and vice-versa, but still, it can communicate with them. The survivor can use that in its favour. Intimidating the corrupted bodies for a few seconds and then encourage its own creatures to deal with the mighty infected souls. And even out of the corrupted battleground, it's a force to be wrecken with. ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Abilities and Saddle Headbutt- Headbuts the foes that are in its front. Doesn't have any secondary effect. Barely affects its stamina. 0.5 second cooldown. Tail Slam- Slams it's tail in the foes that are in its back. Stuns the foe for 0.5 seconds. Drains some of its stamina. 1.5 second cooldown. Stomp- Stomps its foes with their higth limbs, dealing great damage and decreasing the attacked creature's movement speed significantly. It can also inflict little damage to Metal Structures. Drains a significant amount of stamina. 2 second cooldown. Roar- This roar not only makes the surrounding corrupted creatures attack and speed decreased, but it also gives their companions and itself a damage and speed buff while attacking a corrupted creature. The roar's effects lasts for 10 seconds. Drains a significant amount of stamina. 1 second cooldown. The roar effects can't be stacked. Double Element Jet (Saddle Exclusive)- If attacked by a Tek/Element 10 times or after giving it 5 Element to feed, it will be able to activate a Double Element Jet, that can be activated whenever the player pleases, but if used, it needs to do be attacked or feed again. 15 seconds cooldown. Harvests Corrupted Nodule, Corrupt Heart, Element, Element Dust, Element Ore, Element Shard, Fungal Wood, Wood Thatch and Fiber pretty well Corrupted Nodule, Corrupt Heart, Element, Element Dust, Element Ore, Element Shard and Fungal Wood suffer a 50% weigth reduction when they are in its inventory. Corrupt Nodule spoils 2x times slower than being in another creature's inventory. When it's corpse is harvested, it gives Meat, Prime Meat, Hide and when killed it drops an exclusive item, Edmontosaurus Crest. If this item is in the players last slot, wild Edmontosaurus agro range is decreased drasticly. Immune to any Tek/Element related damage If attacked by a Tek/Element 10 times or after giving it 5 Element in theire inventory, it starts to rub its sail in the ground, making it vulnerable to attacks, being impossible to mount and attack. After that, it runs another animation of it regurgitating a Element like substance that can be colected, working as a normal Element. If it has a saddle equiped , it doesn't rub itself in the ground. ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Stats Health- Slightly bigger than the T.Rex's Stamina- A half bigger than the T.Rex's Oxygen- Similar to the Rex's Food- Similar to Rex's Weight- Similar to the Paracetherium's Melee Damage- Slightly smaller than the T.Rex's Movement Speed- Slightly smaller than the Hydration boosted Spinosaur ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Thank you for reading my concept. 7. Features: This creature is, how should I say this? It's the de facto apex of the swamps only weaker than the spino (at least in the swamp). It is only a bit easier to find than the spino. Being high up in the food chain as a predator, you would expect it to be aggressive right? But no, when it sees other dinosaurs it taunts them, due to it's irritative nature. It can make anything that sees it go into a blind rage by using it's taunting attack. When in water, it can use a stun attack like it's relative the baryonyx, but the irritator's stun effect is longer. When a tamed irritator uses the taunt attack with other tamed dinos in front of it, the dinos get 55% Damage boost, but they don't listen to their owner's commands. The "rage" it inflicts isn't like gigas rage, the raged dinos won't attack their owners' and allied dinos, but the rage attack increases a giga's real rage bar. And to make it true to what I advertised in the title, it will ambush you, like always. Literally always. And wild irritators can grab you and unrideable dinos and drag it's grabbed prey into the water to get stunlocked. It is also the ultimate escape mount, as anything taunted by it doesn't see properly and is easily distracted, so youe can make a quick getaway. Inspirations: I saw the trend of the of the spinosaurids in ark having a land based equivalent: Spino-Rex Bary-Allo So I thought: "Why not make a yutyrannus equivalent"? And the irritator was born. At least to me.
  8. Introducing the Stethacanthuses! A prehistoric Devonian era shark that feasts on small fish and other underwater creatures down at the very depths of the ocean. With neutral temperament and carnivorous diet, this interesting shark is perfect for searching through caves or even the depths of the ocean where it comes from. The Stethacanthuses will have a unique saddle that allows the dinosaur to provide night vision to the rider which will enhance vision underwater, making the depths of the ocean far less terrifying. The Stethacanthuses will also have a built in sonar provided by its uniquely shaped dorsal fin, this will help detect underwater creatures and threats to ensure you can defend yourself. The Stethacanthuses is perfect for both sides of the ARK, the PvP and PvE with it providing a useful night vision effect for deepwater diving which can assist in finding valuable resources or bases/other players. The sonar also being incredibly useful for both PvE and PvP because of the fact it can assist in raiding or be stationed near a group of tames or an ocean base to ensure that no wild dinos or tamed dinos can get close to attack. In the wild, Stethacanthuses will not attack humans unless provoked, when provoked, Stethacanthuses will go into a fit of rage using their sharp teeth and fins to attack the aggressor dealing bleed damage and a crushing 2% total health instantly lost with the new "Crushed" effect which (as previously stated) causes any HUMAN to lose 2% of their maximum health in one bite. This effect can be activated every 5 seconds. Once domesticated, the Stethacanthuses will be a viable asset to any aquatic squadron, it will also be a valuable chitin farming creature with its 50% less carry weight and 70% increased gathering efficiency on chitin. Domesticated Stethacanthuses will be an invaluable tool for all cave exploration and deep sea diving with the night vision saddle and sonar detection provided by the anvil shaped dorsal fin. Notes: - Stethacanthuses introduces a new, unique underwater tame for The Center that is unlike any other -Sonar helps to locate potential threats and shut down ambushes (much like the parasaur but in water) -night vision prevents the need of gamma adjusting while switching between underwater and on land -chitin farming underwater becomes even easier -"Crushed" effect helps eliminate human threats faster than ever -adds the first new Devonian era creature since Aberration I hope you all consider my creature for the vote, I would love to see this Devonian era shark make its way into the game with some futuristic upgrades. Vote for the Stethacanthuses now!
  9. NEW UPDATED CONCEPT ART! General Info Common Name: Crystal Skink Species: Tiliqua Frangens Diet: Crystal Temperament: Ambush/Territorial The real-world Tiliqua Frangens was the largest known Skink that lived between the Pliocene and Pleistocene eras. It was believed to have an elaborately armored back, and lived in Australia. Reference articles: https://www.sci.news/paleontology/tiliqua-frangens-12003.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiliqua_frangens The Crystal Skink is a (very) large Skink that has evolved with the Aberrant Ark and become symbiotic with the crystals that litter the deeper caverns, replacing its natural armor with crystals. While not as strong as a Reaper, it can stand its ground against a Rock Drake. The crystals that litter its back react violently to Charge Light, angering the creature and dramatically increasing its aggression. Design Concept: Artwork created by Gucien C (ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/gucien/albums/7032945) ABILITIES & FEATURES Combat/Gatherer hybrid Gathers crystal and gems extremely efficiently Has a significant weight reduction for crystal and gems Between Megalania and Rock Drake agility Climb on all surfaces like a Rock Drake Roll like a Roll Rat! (even up vertical surfaces for a limited time!) Highly territorial near crystals and gems in the wild, less aggressive when not in proximity (think "Megatherium around bugs" when around crystals vs "Chalicotherium" when not) Charge Light Buff!! When exposed to Charge Light, the crystals covering the Crystal Skink's body begin to pulse with inner light, and the Skink roars, increasing aggression (wild), speed, and attack power. Reference for scream: Rajang Enrage (0:08-0:12 in video) Environmental Protector Consumes Crystal, Green, Blue, and Red Gems together to project "Crystal Armor" to nearby allied survivors and tames (wild projects to other Crystal Skinks). Crystal Armor lingers for a few moments after protective aura disappears before breaking apart. Crystal Armor reduces incoming damage slightly while protecting from Radiation and temperature, reducing effects of Lava and Liquid Element, and can even protect from the direct heat of the Sun on Aberration's Surface! Can create a Consumable for an increased up-front cost that can be consumed to give temporary Crystal Armor without the Skink's presence Crystal Skink always has the environmental resistances that Crystal Armor provides COMBAT Bite Claw Swipe Tail Smack (hits with crystal club (can inflict Torpor?)) Gathers resources with Tail Ground Pound (Crystal AoE when Crystal is in inventory) Roll Attack can cause lots of damage, but needs space to activate in combat Can bury similar to Reaper or Purlovia, leaving a Crystal formation above the ground (wild or tamed), taking Survivors by surprise TAMING Enraging a Wild Crystal Skink with Charge Light will cause it to become more aggressive, and eventually tire out after a period of time away from Charge Light. When tired, the Skink will lie down for a short time, allowing the crystals to begin to be harvested from its back. Taking the crystals from the Skink will pacify it, allowing it to be ridden. A pacified Crystal Skink must be used to gather more Crystal to regenerate its natural armor, building its bond with the Survivor. PURPOSE The Crystal Skink is a creature intended to solve the issue of Crystal gathering and transportation (especially on Aberration, where the only creature to reduce Crystal weight is a Ravager). This is meant to be a late-game tame that can cause hazards when encountered in the wild, especially if a Survivor is ambushed by a Crystal Skink disguised as a Crystal formation. While not as powerful as a Reaper, it possesses an "alternate" dynamic to the Reaper - being buffed by Charge Light instead of weakened by it. This creature also allows exploration of the Surface during the day - an ability that is currently impossible, and I've always felt would be a fun addition. (Plus glowing crystal armor on its body and projected onto nearby allies! Who doesn't like glowing stuff?!) Real-world recreation of the Tiliqua Frangens I'm more than happy to incorporate feedback for the idea, these are just my initial thoughts on the design. Thanks for reading!
  10. Species: Chaoyangsaurus🦎 Time: Late Jurassic🌤️ Diet: Herbivore🌿 Temperament: Passive defender🕶️ 💚Wild🦎 Chaoyangsaurus in the wild is a lively, social creature often traveling together with other passive creatures. They are friendly enough to come right up to you and look you over before venturing off to explore its surroundings. Enjoying warmer temperatures and lower climates with lush fauna or shrubs. Being no stranger to the aquatic life you can also find them in the swamplands. The Chaoyangsaurus is also fiercely loyal, and while it won't outwardly attack you, it will always rush to the defense of the passive creatures around it that are under attack, so be careful when hunting where these quick loyal defenders roam with other creatures. 💚Domesticate🦎 Chaoyangsaurus is a very curious and friendly creature that loves visual stimulation If you can lead one to your home it will often times settle right in with you. While not large enough to ride, the Domesticated Chaoyangsaurus makes for an excellent companion retaining their fierce loyalty and helping you in your day to day activities. Once a harness is crafted for them they are more than happy to hold your food and narcotics for you, and will even help you feed your tames in surrounding area! 💚Behavior🦎 The Chaoyangsaurus is a passive, friendly animal that is full of curiosity, often running up to new creatures that come into its path. Though they will never strike first once they or a fellow creature is in danger they will rush to the defense of others. 💚Passive Tame🦎 Chaoyangsaurus enjoys visual stimulation above all. Feed it it's favorite treat of a rare flower and it will follow you for a time. Leading it through your base, or other structures you have built will slowly tame it, the more advanced your build is, the faster it will tame, and the more different things for it to examine will raise it's efficiency. 💚Combat🦎 The Chaoyangsaurus is far from a fighter, but better than nothing. They will attempt a sweeping tale attack to knock back smaller creatures. While this attack is indeed weak it will not effect taming effectiveness of an unconscious creature. 💚Utility🦎 The Chaoyangsaurus is a early to mid game companion creature. Larger than your shoulder friends, but smaller than a raptor these fast creatures strive to be your best friend! If you fall unconscious they will try to wake you with gentle nudges. Once you build the harness for the Chaoyangsaurus They have a high carrying capacity for Berries🍇, meats🥩 and narcotics🐍. They can also be strapped onto other tames that have saddles, although they will need your help to detach from them. They will work as feeding troughs for your tames, automatically feeding them the most beneficial food and narcotics to nearby unconscious creatures, but will have no effect on passive tames. The harness can also be used as a mobile mortar and pestle. 💚Extras🦎 Chaoyang is not only a curious and intelligent creature but an obedient one, able to learn commands such as sit, or laydown, or play dead.🦎
  11. The creature I have in mind is completely made up, LYCANINE SELACHIMORPHA (LIE-K-9) the ideas I've had is a slightly larger then survivor wolf headed seal creature with swords fish sail and two front fins. I imagined a creature that was opportunistic and extremely fast. That smelled out killed and carried dinos similar to the carcha but with a regular taming like the otter. The Lycanine would be without a saddle and able to slowly hop on land without an oxygen state. One issue I've heard and experienced is the fear of the sneaky jelly fish dismounting and killing you and your mount. Though mods have given us creatures to fix this I thought an amazing vanilla creature would really make the oceans of the ark a bit more enjoyable. When the Lycanine gets shocked it's sail will immediately shoot up and launch the rider vertical while the Lycanine shoots electricity through its spiked and gets enraged with a damage buff without the stun. The electricity would enrage the lycanine similar to the giga as in if you are to close it could turn on you, "shocking". The design of the Lycanine is also designed to be similar to the sword fish with the idea if it keeling its incredible speed being one if the fastest water creatures. I also really enjoy dinos with the ability to sleep so I imagined the lycanine being very "sleepy" during the day and falling on its back to enjoy the days sun. Though you could wake it though it's not built for land and will slowly try and hop around. I really hope everyone likes this creature and I am aware u missed all the creature submissions but I do hope to see this creature on the ark
  12. Common Name: Edmontosaurus Species: Edmontosaurus annectens Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: "When I first saw this colossal herbivore, I thought it was a gentle animal. But that's not the case with Edmontosaurus. This creature usually goes in small herds of 4 individuals and at least one member of the group is a baby. For this reason, adults show extremely territorial behavior against any possible threat. Even if you are a newly arrived survivor! The Edmontosaurus on this ark have evolved by developing a complex bioluminescent system. When their body does not generate light, it means that they are calm while walking through the mushroom forests. But as soon as the light on their bodies turns red, it is a warning sign because they feel threatened and could soon respond aggressively." Domesticated: "Some survivors discovered that the Edmontosaurus's diet can affect its bioluminescence. By consuming any type of mushroom, it is capable of releasing certain spores around it and allowing the creature to use abilities that in the wild it would not be able to. Any ally within his radius will be under a healing or lighting effect, depending on what their tamer decides. Allied dinos recover their health faster and the nameless don't even dare to come to the surface with Edmontosaurus present! There is also a third ability that the creature can use once it consumes mushrooms. It consists of concentrating its spores and releasing them in a powerful shock wave that damages everything within the radius. This allows the Edmontosaurus to harvest any material around it and deal heavy damage to any enemies nearby. This set of skills makes the edmontosaurus a worthy rival to apex predators or even bosses and a great explorer of the radioactive zone Introduction: Greetings survivors! I present to you my humble idea of the Edmontosaurus, the massive herbivore of aberration The main functions of this dino consist of: Rol as a Support Instant healer Light creature Area damage Tank turrets Area Harvester Immunity to torpor, toxins and radiation Ability to find max-level creatures Taming helper Wild: Edmontosaurus usually roam the green zone of aberration, although they can rarely be seen in the blue zone. As they are the largest herbivore on this ark (rivaling in size with spinosaurus or even a reaper king), only a maximum of one herd can spawn (between 4 and 5 specimens, one of them being a baby). They are not fast, but they can be very insistent when they enter a territorial state. Taming Process: Since the adults are too dangerous, the only alternative is to tame the baby of the herd. The process is complex: being a bioluminescent creature, the survivor must attract the baby with a light creature. It should be approached little by little, with the light creature turned on and without attracting the attention of adults.(It is recommended to wear a camouflage suit. Only the baby will detect you if you have the light on) Once the baby becomes curious, it will slowly approach until it is within reach of the survivor. When the baby starts to wag its tail, turn off the light and wait for the edmontosaurus start a light sequence. Once finished, the baby will turns his head to the side and that means it is your turn to imitate the pattern. If you repeat the pattern correctly using your light creature, the baby will let itself be fed by you. But if you make a mistake, the baby will start crying and the adults will respond aggressively. As you tame the baby, the confidence of the adults will change depending on the taming bar. From 1% to 25% domestication, adult edmontosaurus will be territorial if they spot you. from 26 to 50% domestication, adults will only watch you in case they detect you. From 51 to 100% domestication, the adults will no longer be territorial, unless you make the baby cry. Once the little edmontosaurus has been domesticated, the wild adults will no longer behave territorially towards the survivor, unless a new baby appears in the herd. Tamed: Congratulations! You have tamed an Edmontosaurus. Like any baby, you will need to spend time and care with it until it becomes an adult and finally uses its abilities. Actions: Primary Attack: A basic bite attack. It doesn't deal much damage, but it does help you harvest berries, fiber, wood, and straw. Secondary Attack: Generates a radius that allows you to use any of the edmontosaurus' spore abilities (requires consuming 100 mushrooms of any type) Spores Abilities (Click C, , ): Allows the Edmontosaurus to activate any of its 3 spore abilities. (healing state, lighting state, shock wave) Bipedal posture (Press Control, , ): allows the dino to stop using its quadrupedal stance and move bipedally, making it faster when walking or running (spore abilities not available in this state) Spores Abilities: Each spore ability requires the edmontosaurus to consume a total of 100 mushrooms of any type. This will recharge a spore fuel that will appear next to the survivor's inventory (just like mek fuel). Depending on which skill you use, the edomontosaurus will consume a certain percentage of this fuel. Heal state: When it activates, it instantly heals allies for 25% of the Edmontosaurus's total health (the more health the dino has, the more it heals) Then, over a 5 min period, all allies within range will be healed for a 5% of Edmontosaurus's total health constantly. Once that period is over, the edmontosaurus will be able to use any of its spores ability again. (Using this skill will consume 25% of the spore fuel) Lighting state: When activated, it creates a lighting effect on all allies within its radius. Prevents the appearance of nameless and reaper kings. It also allows you to identify max level creatures nearby. This state of the Edmontosaurus combined with a good battle mount, will allow you to fight or tame Reapers. The lighting range will be affected by the amount of stamina on the dino (The more stamina it has, the larger the area affected by the light will be) The duration of this state is 10 minutes. Once finished, the dino will be able to use any of its spore abilities again. (Using this skill will consume 50% of the spore fuel) Shock Wave: When activated, it generates a powerful shockwave that destroys any harvestable material around it and the resources will be stored in the Edmontosaurus's inventory. Enemies that are affected by this ability will take triple the total damage of the dino (example: if the edmontosaurus has 200 damage, the shock wave will do 600 damage) In addition, enemies will be affected by a bleeding and a bones fracture that weaken them for a few seconds. The damage and shockwave effects are instant, but cooldown is 3 minutes to use any of his spore abilities. (using this skill will consume 100% of the spore fuel) Conclusion: Edmontosaurus is a mount with primarily support uses. However, the combination of those skills along with proper upbringing make him an indispensable dino. There are few healers available in the game and few herbivores capable of taking on dangerous predators like rexes, reapers, or even gigas. Edmontosaurus opens the door for a hervivorean (not counting titanosaurus) to be able to take on the ark's dangerous apex predators. Thanks you
  13. 💋RED-LIPPED BATFISH (Ogcocephalus darwini)💋 “Imagine this creature running after you in the dark” Taxonomy Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Actinopterygii Order: Lophiiformes Family: Ogcocephalidae Genus: Ogcocephalus Species: O. darwini Time: Anthropocene Diet: Carnivorous In nature: The Ogcocephalus darwini or batfish was a fish of no more than 40 cm with piscivorous habits that lived in the depths of the Galapagos, however its passage through the corrupted ark of aberration changed that... Living up to its name, the batfish "adapted" to its new environment. Its size increased considerably, its breathing became less demanding... and its diet became carnivorous. At nearly three meters tall and four meters long, the batfish is capable of hiding in the mud near bodies of water. It stalks its prey and lures it in with its massive head bulge and striking red lips. When its prey gets close enough, the batfish uses its prominent red lips to powerfully suck in its prey, killing it instantly. In addition, with the help of its powerful fins, it is able to "walk" on solid ground to chase its victims if the surprise attack does not work. His movement is clumsy, but he makes up for it with his ability to launch rocks as large as cannonballs from his mouth. It is capable of emitting a terrifying sound that seems to be taken from a horror movie... You don't need to see the red-lipped batfish to know that a horrible death awaits you. Domestication: Getting close to a red-lipped batfish is a death sentence, which is why it's best to keep your distance. A good option to gain the trust of these creatures is to feed it by throwing dodos directly into its mouth (otters and other small animals are also useful). Skills: -General skills: It is a fish, so it needs water to breathe, but it is capable of holding its breath to surface for considerable periods of time. Its powerful fins allow it to move on firm ground as if they were legs. *NOTE: When you run out of oxygen your health will begin to decrease until death. If you are knocked unconscious on the ground your oxygen will continue to decrease. Its skin on the back is thick as rock, which makes it very resistant to any attack, making it a walking tank. Some might take advantage of the clumsy movement of the batfish and attack it from below in the soft area of its body, but he has the solution... he simply drops on the poor fools. His scream from beyond the grave is used to terrify animals of all kinds, on land and sea (there is no sound underwater, but believe me, seeing his expression when emitting it is not pleasant.) *Controls (Xbox) : >To Crush >Hold To Hide >RS Cry from beyond the grave -Shooting mode: With its large lips it is capable of sucking oil veins, rocks or any small object on the ground (this includes small animals, packages, etc.) Its huge mouth allows it to suck, store and shoot rocks like cannonballs (can be created in the fish's inventory), no matter if it's on land or sea. It can also throw water and oil (Check the saddle section for more details) *Controls(Xbox): >Out of ammo, RT to suck >Out of ammo, LT spits water >With ammo, RT to shoot cannon >With LT ammo to shoot oil -Hunter mode: He is able to hide in the ground to go unnoticed. Its powerful lips will have great suction power, but its bite is just as deadly. In addition, with a fast and strong movement of its tail, it can render its enemies unconscious (Humans, small and medium-sized animals). *Controls: >RT Bite >LT Tail Strike Saddle This saddle specially designed for the red-lipped batfish is one of a kind, an engineering marvel made possible by the versatility of the gems (red, green and blue). To start we have two glass and polymer tubes that connect directly to the gills located just below its "nose", these pipes transport water stored in two large capacity containers on the sides of the animal, this to maximize the time that the batfish can stay out of water. *NOTE: it automatically refills when entering the water or with rain. This mechanism allows him to use water whenever he wants and in this way launch jets of water from his mouth that, although they do not do damage, are capable of keeping his enemies away. Also attached to the sides of his "nose" are two metal nozzles connected to a container and are ready to shoot oil directly at his enemies, perfect for keeping them away or encircling them in flames when ignited with an incendiary arrow. *NOTE: Refills by sucking oil veins or manually by placing oil in inventory. Finally, the leather-made saddle has room for three players. The first drives in the central area, while the others are located on the sides armed with their favorite firearms. Farming Fish meat: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Meat: ⭐⭐ Hide:⭐ Oil: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **PERSONAL COMMENTS FROM THE AUTHOR: The red lipped batfish is a fish of the genus Ogcocephalus that inhabits the depths of the Galapagos today. Although this article details a beast, the reality is that the fish does not have amazing abilities beyond its appearance. That is why I take inspiration from fictional creatures from popular culture, such as the Gooper Blooper (Mario Sunshine), Blastoise (Pokemon) and the Dwarf Bulbear (Pikmin). Also i was thinking in a kind of lantern, to fit in aberration, but not sure how to add it or for what. Below I put links with information about the red lipped batfish and my inspirations. 14. -SUMMARY: Common Name: Cave Frog Inspiration: Blue Milk Frog with convergent evolutionary aspects of Poison Dart Frogs & Gliding Leaf Frogs. Species: Trachycephalus ton asterión (Rough-head of the stars) Time: Post-Holocene Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Languorous Map Relation: Native to Bioluminescent Biome Main Diet: Glowbugs, Shine Pets, Lamprey & Nameless Natural Predators and Only Counters Completely Immune to their Torpor Damage: Reapers, Rock Drakes, Basilisks, Karkinos Colors: Black, Grays, Purples. Blues -WILD: Passive unless attacked. They rarely can be seen clinging to the branches and ceilings of the bioluminescent biome. Cave Frogs are usually spotted occasionally when they hop and glide across caverns to snatch a Glowbug that flies up too high. They also descend onto the Nameless when they rise out of the ground. Even more rare are seeing groups glide down to the water pools under the glowing trees. Where after they give a brief light show, the female will drop eggs into the water before they all retreat back up together. The eggs then hatching into wild Tadpoles, that when mature, will make their way up to join the rest of the other adults. The only things that attack fully grown Cave Frogs, are Reapers, Rock Drakes & Basilisks. While Karkinos will eat Tadpoles they come across, as well as try to grab a Cave Frog when they get the rare opportunity to. These four creatures are the only things immune to the Cave Frog’s defensive and offensive Torpor Damage, and are their true counters. When attacked by one of their 4 natural predators, the Cave Frog will use their Shine Burst to stun them and try to retreat back to a safe elevation. However anything smaller that is foolish enough to attack one will quickly turn the Cave Frog aggressive. Making it lash out while most certainly trying to eat the smaller threat. -DOMESTICATED: The true champions of this 3D Environment. Cave Frogs can cling to any surface, jump great distances, as well as move at deceptively fast speeds on land and in water. Being able to also glide slightly with their large toe pads. This allows them to direct their decent when falling. This mobility makes them unquestionably the best way to get around the Aberrant Caverns of this ARK. As well as being able to fire weapons from their saddles, and a constant supply of Bio-Toxin produced in their inventory, They are invaluable partners when Taming. Being able to turn aspects of their diets into defensive, or offensive capabilities doesn’t hurt their utility much either. From gaining effects from Rockwell recipes to being able to fire a cannonball from their mouths. Cave Frogs can be the Swiss Army Knife of Amphibious, or in some cases, Aerial Assault. Tamed Passively with: Set-up Charge Lamp (or Glow Pet) Preferred Food: Leech Blood Cave Frogs are tamed passively through a little trickery. You set up a charge lamp within range of the where the Cave Frog is hanging around and back away. The Cave Frog will become curious and dive down to it to investigate if it is food. At this point you can sneak up beside it and offer it Leech Blood Passively. A New Model for a Charge Lamp laying on its side on the ground would be needed, but an animation of the Cave Frog trying to swallow, and then spitting out the Charge Lamp would be great if it is not fed quickly enough. Then it would make a confused look before climbing back up to where it came from. If fed quickly enough it will just hang around and let you continue feeding it. But if it is left hungry for more than 5-10 seconds, it will become uninterested and climb back up to where it came from. A Charge-Light Pet on wander can also be used instead of the Charge Lamp to lure the Cave Frog down. However if the Cave Frog is not fed Leech Blood quickly enough. It will eat the Charge-Light Pet. Although cruel, this can benefit you. Giving a huge boost to the initial taming process similar to a Sanguine Elixir. As long as Leech Blood is offered within 5-10 seconds of the Cave Frog becoming hungry afterwards it should stick around and continue the taming process as usual. Weakness: Entering Deserts & Very Hot Volcanic Temperatures dries out the Cave Frog’s skin and begins to drain its health. I just felt like you couldn’t beat a Giant Tree Frog for Aberration. I don’t think this creature will fit with any other map so anyone who votes and helps get this Frog to the top 10, I truly appreciate you. This is my dream creature for Aberration and I hope the community likes it too. Thank you for your time.
  15. An adult snakefly resembles a lacewing in appearance but has a notably elongated thoraxwhich, together with the mobile head, gives the group their common name. The body is long and slender and the two pairs of long, membranous wings are prominently veined. Females have a large and sturdy ovipositorwhich is used to deposit eggs in some concealed location. They are holometabolousinsects with a four-stage life cycle consisting of eggs, larvae, pupae and adults. (Scaled up in Size to be as tall as two large survivors) Main Uses - - it may be broad or taper at the back, but is very mobile, allowing for it to carry your survivor at high speeds through the air nimbly! -The mouthparts are strong and relatively unspecialised, being modified for biting giving it the ability to pick up fellow tribe members, enemies and small to medium sized dinosaurs in its mandibles. -It has a large pair of compound eyes on the sides of its head giving it incredible vision in all harsh weather conditions & at night & a tracking ability you can use to track dinosaurs similar to a snow owls that allows you to search for a specific creature (i.e Only rexes will show up in night vision when selected) that can be turned on and whenever you have its preferred food in its inventory. The females typically have a long ovipositor, which they use to deposit their eggs into crevices or under bark, this is where the taming comes in to play! The eggs will have to be found in a nest similar to a wyvern or magmasaur and taking one will cause a swarm of Raphidioptera to aggro you but be careful because the females have a venom they can spit that will dismount you and slow you down if hit by it!
  16. ARK has a lot of awesome sea creatures but what about various sharks? Don't you think it's time for sharks to get more love? I'm here to (re)introduce you to Alopias Grandis, AKA, The Thresher Shark. But I'm talking about the ancient version, a lot bigger than today's version! Below, read the original description about this creature. I am open to new ideas and suggestions! Feel free to leave a comment of some suggestions or ideas! This creature is big, beautiful and even with it's large teeth and speed, it has a long tail that can whip away potential enemies! I hope you vote for this creature. Common Name: Thresher Species: Alopias grandis Time: Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Reclusive Wild: Alopias's most distinguishing feature is its massive caudal fin, which doubles its length from an already respectable size that would be similar to the Megalodon had Alopias had a more standard tail. Alopias uses this fin to great effect, arcing its tail over its head to use it as a whip to stun prey. This shark is a pelagic species, and favors water near the surface. Domesticated: Actually taming is simple enough: feeding it its preferred prey, fish, is enough to earn its trust. The real challenge comes from the process leading up to this point. You see, adults cannot be tamed, and a baby must be tamed instead. This species does not exhibit parental care, meaning that infant individuals are easy prey from the larger predators of the sea, and must be protected during this process. Should you tame one, and it reaches maturity, you are now in possession of one of the most useful predators of the water. The shock wave emitted by its tail spreads rapidly, able to stun entire schools of fish. However, the shock wave dissipates just as fast, meaning Alopias must get within its own body length for its stun to be at its best effect. Even mighty predators like Teusoteuthus and Mosasaurus are not entirely immune to this, and must not charge straight in. Alopias can even breach the surface to whip low flying flyers out of the sky! 17. Introduction: ARK: Survival Evolved is a popular open-world survival game that allows players to explore a vast prehistoric landscape filled with a variety of fascinating creatures. The game offers players an immersive experience, presenting them with the opportunity to interact with and tame a diverse range of animals. However, one notable absence from the current roster of creatures is the Sheepshead fish. In this essay, we will discuss why the Sheepshead fish deserves a place in ARK: Survival Evolved and how its inclusion would enhance the game's overall experience. Ecological Diversity: ARK: Survival Evolved prides itself on showcasing a rich ecosystem that mirrors the prehistoric world. Introducing the Sheepshead fish to the game would contribute to this goal by increasing the diversity of marine life. The Sheepshead fish, also known as Archosargus probatocephalus, is a saltwater species found along the coastlines of North America. Its unique appearance and distinct behavior would provide players with a fresh and engaging underwater experience. Realism and Educational Value: Adding the Sheepshead fish to ARK: Survival Evolved aligns with the game's commitment to realism. The inclusion of this species would help educate players about the marine life that existed during prehistoric times. By accurately modeling its appearance, behavior, and habitat, players would have the opportunity to learn more about this fascinating creature. This educational aspect adds depth to the game and can spark curiosity and interest in real-world biology and paleontology. Gameplay Mechanics: The Sheepshead fish possesses several attributes that would make it an interesting addition to the gameplay mechanics of ARK: Survival Evolved. For instance: 3.1. Unique Feeding Mechanism: The Sheepshead fish is known for its distinctive set of teeth, which resemble human molars. These teeth are specifically adapted to crush and grind shellfish, crustaceans, and other hard-bodied prey. Implementing this feeding behavior could introduce a new mechanic to the game, where players would need to find and consume shellfish in order to satisfy the dietary needs of tamed Sheepshead fish. 3.2. Underwater Interaction: ARK: Survival Evolved already offers a diverse range of aquatic creatures, and the Sheepshead fish would further enhance the underwater gameplay. Players could swim alongside these fish, feed them, and even ride them, opening up new possibilities for exploration and transportation in the game's vast oceanic environments. Aesthetics and Customization: The Sheepshead fish possesses a unique appearance that would add visual appeal and aesthetic variety to the game. Its silver-gray body, prominent black stripes, and distinct facial features would make it a visually stunning addition to the existing roster of creatures. Additionally, the game could incorporate a range of color variations, allowing players to customize their tamed Sheepshead fish to suit their preferences. Cultural Significance: The Sheepshead fish holds cultural significance in various coastal communities. It is a popular game fish sought after by anglers, and its inclusion in ARK: Survival Evolved would resonate with players who have a personal connection to this species. Such cultural representation can foster a sense of inclusivity and appeal to a wider audience. Conclusion: The addition of the Sheepshead fish to ARK: Survival Evolved would enhance the game's ecological diversity, provide educational value, introduce new gameplay mechanics, and offer aesthetic customization options. Furthermore, it would contribute to the game's commitment to realism and align with its goal of recreating a prehistoric world filled with diverse and fascinating creatures. By acknowledging the importance of the Sheepshead fish and including it in the game, ARK: Survival Evolved would create a more immersive and engaging experience for players worldwide.
  18. My idea for a new creature submission is the Olm i know we have diplocaulus and adding something that kinda looks like a mix of that and eels would be strange, but ark being ark this creature would be a litlle different from the real life counter part being more akin to the the creature from arcane, having a good all-terrain creature but faring better in deep sea enviroment So this animal known as olm is relatively similar to an axolots, this cave salamander is most notable for its adaptations to a life of complete darkness in its underground habitat. The olm's eyes are undeveloped, leaving it blind, while its other senses, particularly those of smell and hearing, are acutely developed. It also lacks any pigmentation in its skin. It has three toes on its forelimbs, but only two toes on its hind feet. It exhibits neoteny, retaining larval characteristics like external gills into adulthood, like some American amphibians, the axolotl and the mudpuppies Olm also has exceptional regeneration capabilities – it is even able to regrow an amputated limb So trying to not stray away from this abilities, the ark olm would be the same size as a Rock Drake so it could be ridable and look cool as heck, it would have a similar ability to parasaurs, it would also be a good oxygen supplier underwater, would regen like carchar, would create some sort of mucus that slow or depletes stamina from enemies and have a bite that either creates torpidity slowly or poisons the target depending how the player toggles it The breeding/eating patttern should be like a diplocaulus I know this creature submission looks a litlle bland compare to others but i dont draw that well and its my first post in this community XD If you think any changes can be made to the design or abillities, write in the comments, it would be great to create a creature most people tend to like and had a sugestion in the creation P.s: Also sorry if my english sucks, not my main language
  19. Epidexipteryx Common Name: Epidexipteryx Species: Epidexipteryx hui Time: middle Jurassic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: skittish wild: epidexipteryx is a very nimble and shy species, especially towards humans. As soon as they spot you, they scream and flee. epidexipteryx seems to love honey, was often observed climbing on trees to reach the honey. The epidexipteryx was feathered and bore four conspicuously elongated, band-like feathers on its relatively short tail, it is believed that they can use their tail as a radar function and sprays spores to make himself unnoticeable, so he can escape his enemies. domesticated: You can wear the epidexipteryx on your shoulder It is a faithful and helpful companion, especially when you are looking for specific resources. Its tail serves as a radar function, which shows you certain surrounding resources. Not only that. It can increase the amount of resources when mining. Also you can use it to make yourself unnoticeable to sneak up on a dino, thanks to its spores that it sprays. A very useful companion general info: passive taming with honey shoulder dino you can breed it lives in the redwoods Skills: Can ping certain resources with it on your shoulder you can make yourself unnoticeable to other dinosaurs.
  20. Opabinia: The Portable Hydration Station Basic info: Group: Arthropod Species: Opabinia regalis Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Reactive Description: Opabinia is a strange and rare arthropod that lives in the various oases that scatter the map. Although they can 'swim' through the desert sand, they prefer an aquatic lifestyle and are only found underwater in the wild. It's slightly larger than its prehistoric counterpart, retaining most of its ancestor's odd features: five stalked eyes scattered atop its head, segmented flaps that propel Opabinia forward at surprising speeds and a long 'trunk-like' proboscis with a deadly claw at its end. It uses this to latch onto its prey, and to absorb large quantities of water within its body to help survive against droughts. Opabinia will attack as soon as it notices you enter the water, doing bleeding damage over time. Utility: Hydration/Living Waterskin: Using its trunk to drink its body weight in water, it can latch on to anyone that tames it like a backpack. Providing hydration to the wearer at the cost of speed. Water still appears to evaporate over time, although it may do so at a slower rate. If the Opabinia runs out of water, it will seek a more desperate means of survival and become parasitic. Parasitic: It uses its clawed proboscis to latch deeper into its host's body, doing a small amount of bleeding damage over time as it feeds. It is near impossible to remove Opabinia once it has taken blood from its host. If Opabinia's host dies whilst it is in this mode, it rejects its owner and is no longer tamed, swimming rapidly through the sand and back to the nearest oasis. Drops: Raw Meat Chitin Taming: Opabinia can be passive tamed by approaching it while wearing ghilie armor. It will no longer attack underwater unless provoked, and instead will latch onto the player, taming over time while decreasing the players' water bar at a much faster rate than usual. Once bred, the Opabinia stays attached to the host and provides its body weight in water. Keeping it hydrated will ensure it doesn't become untamed upon the player's death. Breeding: Opabinia cannot be bred. Sources: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opabinia
