  1. Fur Armor useless

    In my opinion the Fur armor in its current state is way too weak since it still is common to have an ice cube at the bottom of the screen for half of the time im in the ice biome. I would either suggest buffing it or making a better version available in the engram system to get rid of this annoying inconvenience. Also an Armor, craftable on the island, that protects against heat in the southern regions would be cool too.
  2. Fur Saddles

    Insulated saddles would keep players warm in the snow. They could be crafted with extra pelt added onto original saddle materials. While on the saddle the player would be protected from the cold, until they dismount then they would be effected by the natural temperature around them. The saddle's effects would go away in water/when wet, just like fur armor. To sum it up, it is like fur armor on a dino. Feel free to suggest any edits!

    Opposite Scorched Earth DLC?! We need more DLC and Scorched earth made everything a lot more fun.. HOWEVER. I was thinking of a opposite version of Scorched, Possible taming Yeti's, Ice dragons that shoot cryogenic blasts! and do stunning damage!, Pick axes that allows you to climb over high terrain. & so on. I was thinking of introducing Mythical cold creatures like how the Wyverns and Golems are used. It would be awesome to see it switched in a whole new different biome of the opposite.

  6. Winter/Cold Survival Help

    Hey there brothers, fellow ARK survivor, Buck, here. Wondering if any of you guys had any tips or advice to survive in the Northern parts of the Island. I love the atmosphere up there and its natural white beauty. However, many malicious creatures lurk around this paradise and prefer to make my ARK life miserable. And on top of that, its so darn cold that my nut sack freezes. I seek tips, tricks, and any kind of advice, to help counter these problems. Great thanks and enormous sincerity, BuckMcSkeet

I have been tossing around the idea of a new type of armor that's geared towards the Sea and after much feedback I think I've settled on something that would work without taking away the usefulness of other Armors. It would be crafted from Scales and Organic polymer and provide better protection than hide (20 armor) but say slightly lower than chitin (50 armor), something around 35 armor. It would provide a boosted insulation stat while in the water similarly to how Fur loses its insulation when wet. SCUBA provides 270 cold protection with out a glove equip so I'm thinking around 150 insulation (half of what SCUBA can provide) in the water while only 75 outside the water. This would give it more cold protection than Hide while wet and less than hide when dry, allowing for its intended Sea use but not to be better than Hide when trying to live on land or in the snow biome. It could give less protection against heat say -70 where as Hide is -60 and Chitin is -35, so for Hot jungle use it wouldn't be appealing option. In all, I believe this would be a great way to give some sort of option between low level hide armor, and very high level SCUBA armor for players wanting to be sea dwellers. What do you guys think? Armor Stats Breakdown Hide Armor = 20 Cold Protection = 85 Heat Protection = -60 Scale (new) Armor = 35 Cold Protection = 75 Dry 150 Wet Heat Protection = -70 Chitin Armor = 50 Cold Protection = 43 Heat Protection = -35
  8. I love this game alot, despite it has alot of bugs and glitches. But this forum is about gameplay. So, I was thinking about temperature in the game. It's a great simulation, but I think when your cold anywhere, once you have a flame right next to you or in front of you, it shouldn't make you cold anymore. Most of the times I don't use fire for light (don't want to be seen). I use it for warmth, but it doesn't do anything, I'm still cold. And when youre cold, you feed alot. All I'm saying is that once a flame is next to you, it should instantly remove the cold stat...unless you're in the snow of course. Just my first forum on gameplay suggestion.
  9. Snow Biome Atrophy

    Has anyone else noticed that the amount of health atrophy has gone off the charts in the snow areas now? Yesterday while I was downloading I was in chat with one of our tribe members. She was saying she kept dying in the snow really fast. I thought it was just her being a bit dramatic, until I logged in. I flew into the snow and noticed that I was losing about 2.5 health per second with 34 fortitude. This is a new component that wasn't there prior to the last patch and I'm trying to figure out what the plan was here. Did anyone else notice this as well?
  10. I'm wondering if the Devs are going to add in an aspect of body heat generation? What I mean is that I find it strange that your temperature is guided by what you wear or the lack of and in general the environment around you - But what seems to be lacking is the ability of ones body generating heat when physically active! It could be a freezing night, but even if your jogging or chopping trees down, you can't seem to increase your temperature? Likewise when you're less active, you should cool down to ambient temperature + clothing. I suggest that our overall temperature is guided by the environment (including fires), what we wear and our actions or activity which is directly linked to how quickly we use our stamina... This will add greatly to the survival aspect as you would be able to have a heat stroke if you're too active in a heat wave or be more active in a snow storm so as to not get hypothermia. If one's temperature is normal in a cold environment, they would need less food - but at the cost funny enough of more food to be more active. There would not be any more food consumption than what is already happening in the snow, but would actually justify the food loss that's taking place. Any thoughts? On a side note, it would be interesting if there was better insulation from heat and cold in a thatch house, less in wood, then much less in stone, and then metal being the worst in keeping good insulation! The higher up the building tier, the more important it is to have fireplaces or air conditioners...just a thought.
