  1. Latzelia Primordialis - The Living Artillery Cannon So we all know and love (hate) the acid spitting, armor destroying millipede Arthropleura, but now prepare for the new idea of a massive centipede, with the ability to lob exploding acid blobs of many varieties, the Latzelia Primordialis. So the basic idea for this creature submission would be a rather large, lets say around Basilisk sized centipede that resembles a house centipede, just way bigger. Now for the abilities i have thought for this creature: Torpor inducing bite ála Arthropleura Wall climbing, this creature would be the first platform saddled creature to be able to climb walls and ceilings. Though it would be rather slow climber all things considered and the platform isn´t too big. Skipping on water surfaces, similar to the Rhyniognatha or the Bloodstalker, only slower. Faster with the tek saddle equipped, could use the same jet boosts as with the hovering ability (read below). Spitting exploding acid globules, think Arthropleura but bigger in scale and with added AoE, they could use a variety of different ammunition. They also have a gas attack that has different properties depending on the ammunition used. They would have an eerie luminescent glow to their legs and abdomen, changing color based on what they are eating or using as ammunition. If you hade more than one type of ammunition in it´s inventory, you would be able to change them in a command wheel on the go. Oil - Black color: Spit explodes in to oil slicks and gas attack blinds and slows enemies. Low damage. Healing Brew - Red color: Spit explodes in to regenerating area that lingers for a moment, gas attack becomes a healing AoE similar to Daeodon. Deals no damage. Propellant - Orange color: Spit explodes in to sticky flames. Gas attack bursts out flaming gas around it self. Low initial damage, sets things ablaze. Narcotic - Green color: Spit explodes in to a tranquilizing AoE splash. Gas attack works a bit like the gas grenade but with larger AoE. Low damage. Stone - White color: Spits out a goop covered rock, deals concussive damage like a catapult. Can damage up to stone buildings. Medium damage and no gas attack. Ammonite bile - Lime color: Spits out ammonite bile in an explosive glob, blowing up and giving out the ammonite bile debuff in an AoE. Gas attack does the same thing but around the creature. No initial damage. Spoiled meat - Dark green color: Spits out an acidic glob that explodes, dealing high damage to armor durability like arthropleura spit except in AoE. Gas attack does the same thing but around the creature. Medium damage. Organic polymer - Cyan color: Spits out an acidic glob that explodes, dealing less damage to armor durability, but has highest damage of all the natural ammunition types. High damage. Gas attack does the same thing but around the creature, damaging everything around it. As for the stats i would say its on the tankier side, with a good amount of weight for carrying all the ammunition needed, not too fast though. There would be a small platform saddle and a tek saddle. The tek saddle bringing the living artillery to a whole new level with new ammunition types to use along with element and doubling the AoE of the gas attack. The tek saddle also enables small jets from the tips of the creatures armored legs, allowing it to hover down, slowing its fall from high places. This would come in handy when you have to reposition or escape in a pinch. When activating the tek cannon, the creature buries its tek enhanced legs in to the ground, essentially rooting it self in place, enabling the rider with a 360 degrees turning giant tek artillery cannon, similar to the M.S.C.M. for the Meks. Tek ammunition types: 10 x Metal ingots + 1 element: Orange energy color, the cannon shoots a massive slug of molten steel, dealing extremely high concussive damage and being able to damage up to Tek tier buildings. No gas attack. 10 x Propellant + 1 element: Red energy color, the cannon shoots a large fireball or slug that explodes in to a large area dealing medium damage and bursting everything around it in flames. Gas attack bursts flaming gas along with flamethrowers from the tek saddle around the creature, burning everything around it. 10 Crystal + 1 element: White energy color, the cannon shoots a railgun beam similar to the Tek Railgun, dealing higher damage than the Tek Railgun, being able to pierce walls. No gas attack. 10 Biotoxin + 1 element: Blue energy color, the cannon shoots a rather large blue shocking tranquilizer bullet, dealing high torpor damage, some health damage and dealing the Cnidaria shocking debuff. Gas attack deals medium torpor damage and shocks nearby enemies. Taming would require you to feed both the male and female with the food corresponding to the color of their abdomen and legs. The required food is the same as the colors as the ammunition they use. After the initial feeding the creature will hold still for a moment, sort of "chewing" on whatever you fed it, enabling the harvesting of materials from their behinds. They are neutral untill you gather the materials from the rear, turning agressive and using their corresponding gas attack immediately upon gathering. You need to get Latzelia pheromones from the males, and Latzelia eggs from the females. Combining both with a simple rifle bullet in the chemistry bench and use the ammunition to shoot one of your own tames, starting the gestation process. After the gestation is done, the baby creature bursts out similarly to Rhyniognatha. After obtaining both tamed male and female, you´ll be able to gather the pheromones and eggs easier from your own creatures without the fear of being attacked, though with a cooldown between gathering. Dossier: Species: Latzelia Primordialis Time: Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Neutral Wild Latzelia Primordialis only confirms my suspicions about genetic modification done to enhance the creatures of the Arks. These hulking behemoths of a house centipede gone wrong are quite a spectacle to behold. They spend their days searching for food in the wastelands. Being rather omnivorous when it comes to food, they end up ingesting a lot of different materials. The materials they cannot digest are used in self defence however. If provoked they will spit out whatever indegistible garbage that ended up inside them, soaked in centipede digestive juices, enhancing the effectiveness of the projectile. And if that wasn´t enough they can emit a foul gas around them from their bodies that will turn even the hungriest predator around. Domesticated Many tribes want to get their hands on even one of these beasts for obvious reasons. They are adept climbers and can be used as beasts of burden, but the real power resides in their ability to chuck big globs of acid far away, preferrably at an opposing tribe, enhanced by whatever they have in their stomachs. I have even heard of some more technologically advanced tribes mounting giant cannons on the backs of these creatures. To get one of these insects to bend to your will is no easy task though. Requiring you to, for a lack of a better word, "gather" certain ingredients, mainly the pheromones of a male Latzelia Primordialis and an egg from a female. Some tribes have learned that by feeding them different materials would wake up their breeding behaviors, making it possible to grab the aforementioned materials from the behinds of these bugs. Just be carefull as they don´t exactly take kindly to anyone poking around their rears. Once acquired, one would need to inject the egg and pheromones to another living creature to activate the incubation of the egg. Once incubated the newborn larvae will burst out of the poor being, usually killing it in the process. Lastly i would like to say that i am by no means an artist and i am not asking anyone, but if you feel like it, feel free to post a prototype dossier here, along with any suggestions of your own. Links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latzelia https://naturalhistory2.si.edu/vt3/NMNH/DT/assets/31/Arthropods/s09.html
  2. Disclaimer: I am no artist so visual representation won't be super great, but hopefully my written descriptions will suffice! Also The species might not fit the time period qualifications for submission, but it does not need to be this ant species specifically. But in my head since this is extinction I figured the element corruption grew an ant on earth to a massive size, if that is not acceptable then just imagine it is a cousin species of the titanomyrma that underwent the same corruption process! Specific species isn't super important to me, I just think a ride-able ant in ark would be dope! Wild Spawn The Dinoponera Matriavastus is a creature you will never find on it's own. Because of this, they benefit from a pack bonus that gives a substantial damage reduction buff. When killed the Dinoponera drops a large amount of chitin and a small amount of meat. The Dinoponera workers spawn in the vicinity of a nest, which looks like a man sized anthill sticking out of the ground. Inside the nest is the Dinoponera queen, who will occasionally leave the nest to wander before returning into the tunnels. The Dinoponera is not aggressive to humans unless they get close to the nest and the queen. They share the same temperament to wild creatures except small creatures like dodos, lystros, etc, and they will consume corpses. Because the Dinoponera reproduces asexually, the species only contains females and all of the workers will be an identical level to their queen, so if you see mis-matched levels of workers it means another nest is nearby. The nest will act as a structure and is destroyable, when destroyed it forces the queen out and aggros her and all of the workers. Once the nest is destroyed all Dinoponera will stop spawning in the area and any existing Dinoponera will slowly despawn when out of render, so you can clear nests in the hopes of finding a higher level nest nearby in the future. Taming You first have to reach the nest without being detected by the workers. The queen can be coaxed out of the nest by dropping honey just outside of the nest, or you can wait for her to naturally emerge. Once the queen is out of the nest you must feed her bug repellent without drawing aggression. This will cause her to lose health quickly until she dies. Killing the queen this way will not aggro the workers. Once the queen is dead, access her inventory and remove her pheromone. Then apply the pheromone to yourself. If you currently are affected by bug repellent yourself, you must wait for the effects to wear off. Be careful of how long you wait, as the pheromone will spoil within a few minutes outside of her inventory. When you are affected by the pheromone, if you are attacked by any creature, nearby workers will come to your aid. This could help save your life, or get the workers killed by accident, so watch your surroundings. Once covered in the pheromone, approach a worker and it will give you a request for some kind of resource. It could be a basic material or a basic food, ie wood, stone, berries, raw meat, etc... Put this item in your last inventory slot and give it to the worker. The more of that item you have in a stack, the more tame progress will be made. So giving it a full stack of 100 wood will give it more tame progress than giving it a stack of 5. Continue filling the requests of the worker until the tame is complete and you have a Dinoponera! You can technically tame as many Dinoponera as there are in the area, but because you only have 30 minutes of pheromone you have to manage your time properly. Once the pheromone wears off, any wild Dinoponera in the area will instantly aggro on you. Breeding Unfortunately since you cannot tame the queen they would not breedable. But I have been debating whether or not they should be. Maybe a decent idea would be the ability to feed a worker certain items and it will transform into a queen, giving you the ability to have one that lays eggs. Possibly feeding a worker 1-5 queen pheromones will turn it into a queen? I'm still split on this part simply because I love breeding and getting mutations. Saddle Upon reaching level 35 you unlock the Dinoponera saddle, which is crafted in the smithy and costs: metal, hide, fiber, and chitin/keratin. This saddle would provide the usual 25 armor and visually would have slight armor plating and saddlebags all over it. It's saddle acts as a crafter, but not a smithy or mortar+pestle. This saddle is able to craft unlocked primitive engrams that would normally need to be crafted in your inventory. So primitive structures, certain saddles, and much more could be crafted on the move without the need for a blueprint. Utility Weight Reduction Once tamed, it is an exceptional beast of burden, capable of reducing the carry weight of wood, thatch, fiber, hide by -40% while reducing the carry weight of stone, metal, flint, obsidian, crystal by -35%! On top of that it reduces the carry weight of all structures by -50%! This makes it extremely useful when moving large quantities of supplies or setting up/moving to a new base location. It can gather wood, thatch, meat, hide, berries, and fiber, albeit at a relatively inefficient rate. Not the best for gathering, but will do in a pinch. Traversal & Mandibles It is able to climb walls and uneven terrain fairly quickly. Pressing the crouch key while riding a Dinoponera allows you to use it's mandibles to pick up certain things. It is capable of picking up and carrying storage boxes, similar to how the rhynio can carry structures. But the Dinoponera can only carry small storage boxes, large storage boxes, and vaults (vaults will act as a drag that I will talk about shortly). It's mandibles are also able to pick up and carry creatures. Anything with a drag weight of 100 or below can be picked up and carried. Not only that, but creatures that fit the weight can also be picked up and carried if they are dead or unconscious! The Dinoponera is also capable of dragging creatures with a drag weight of 101-300! The drag is quite different from the carry. With dragging, the Dinoponera can move heavier objects, but because of the weight, must focus all of it's strength moving it. Therefore when dragging heavier creatures and metal vaults, the Dinoponera can only walk backwards. But have no fear! The Dinoponera is capable of climbing up surfaces backwards, so you can still drag that unconscious Ankylo up a cliff! This can be quite useful to move knocked out creatures to a safer area for taming. It also has use as the ability can drag corpses, making you able to bring a corpse to a tame with better gathering efficiency or even transporting bodies to assist in Carchar taming! Although you would still need to drag the body closer to the Carchar yourself, the Dinoponera can move the corpse quickly from a further distance. Dinoponera Nectar Lastly, when 1 honey and 20 berries are placed into the inventory of a Dinoponera, it will convert the honey into a sweet and nutritious nectar that will provide +40 food as well as a 15% bonus to movement speed, stamina, and stamina regeneration for 15 minutes! The Dinoponera love this nectar and it can be fed to them as well, doubling the effectiveness of the nectar but for only half the time.
  3. Common Name: Vicalocust Species Name: Nomadacris Chimera Based off real world - Nomadacris Septemfasciata just Extinction-ified Time: Post - Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: In swarms of up to 5 These ambush predators are normally found high up in redwood trees, Cliff sides, and sometimes even large caverns, blending into their surroundings they will attack any survivor that crosses their path as well as anything small enough to get caught in their claws. Their normally wood-like skin gives them natural armor against cutting and slashing and their quick and agile movement makes them a formidable foe in combat. Domesticated: Once tamed they make a fantastic mount with their backpack-like saddle they can carry a surprising amount of weight without losing any agility or speed. With powerful jumps into the air, being able to climb seemingly any surface with their claws and superior ambush capabilities this bug would make a great addition to any survivors arsenal. Taming: To tame this bug one must prove themselves to be the better hunter. You must lure one into a bear trap whether it is chasing you or attacking a tame once trapped in a bear trap you must take it down to 15% of its health and then feed it corrupted hearts. This display of dominance will gain this creature's servitude. Abilities: Climbing: This creature has 2 sets of arms, the front are equipped with a longer claw used to stab into surfaces in order to climb quickly up surfaces. The back arms are smaller and cannot be normally seen from the front but these allow it to hold itself in place to get into a ready position to do any Ambush/Grapple attack. Ambush: It has chromatophores that allow it to change the color and texture of its skin allowing it to find a high up tree, mountain, Cliff, or even Caverns, to sit in wait for prey to come into range. It can also use its hook-like feet to latch onto a ceiling and lay in wait there. Grapple: Has the ability to grab and bite into smaller creatures. Aerial Grapple: The Vicalocust can launch itself onto a small/Medium flyer pulling it to the ground and pinning it. Or pulling a survivor off a large flyer. Lure/Mimic: Has the ability to mimic the calls of other creatures allowing it to cause them to walk into its ambush range. Attacks: Left Click: Claw slash attack Right Click: Grapple Attack (Aerial Grapple if in Ambush position) Spacebar: Jump and holding charges jump Pressing Ctrl: Activities climbing ability Pressing : X When climbing this activities the ambush mode. (Turning it around to face outward so It can pounce onto anything passing by) Pressing X: Press once to Targets Dino for the lure call Press X again to activate the call.
  4. Chameleon the elegant and colorful lizard with so much ability, they can change it skin color to blend with nature and almost impossible to spot them. their main weapons is their tongue which they lunch it like bow and arrow and hit the target so quickly and pull them towards their mouth, they can also climb rapidly and easy, if you want this colorful and beautiful lizard by your side you have to steal their egg in the wild which there is various of them with different ability's they are aggressive and their skin color become brighter when they are in bad mood survivors need to be approach them when they are calm . Jackson Chameleon *suitable for desert biome Its look like a tree triceratops which they grow three horns they can ram other creature they use for defense/attack and they do bleeding damage and brake bond slow other creatures *parason chameleon suitable for forest biome ability they can get buffs and ability by killing insects and bugs for ex if you kill glowbug with chameleon you can recharge battery with it or if you kill other insect you can get healing buff speed buff damage reduction buff etc. also they can pull survivors off there mount and prevent flyer from flying away because of there saliva and sticky tongue which work jus like sticker glue you can also give this lizard dye to change their color . Frost chameleon this species live in cold biome and can heal other creatures by load it mouth with water and spray the creature to heal it or use it as weapon to freeze enemies and kill them
  5. Dossier: Glypheoidea better known by survivors as a Crawdad though In terms of size this thing seems to be around 14ft long sporting two large claws on the front that add a few extra feet in length, and even compares to the Karkinos that roam near it and the Cindarias it eats as snacks. Being the ancestor of our modern Crayfish I can see how this thing has adapted to living in it's many environments both here and across other arks, This cave has water everywhere it's the perfect place for these things to thrive, and seeing it live in the swamp waters, and even the artic has quite a few though they prefer to stay submerged in mud underwater. I have even seen this thing swim in element and thrive it's a very adaptable creature. Wild: When dealing with them in the wild, they seem harmless in comparison to the Karkinos, in the caves. until a survivor decides to see how hard the shell is. The massive claws can pack a decent punch, and the many legs underneath can carry it at a decent speed. One survivor tried to kill one while hanging from a climbing pick, until the thing dug its claws into the rock and one by one pull itself closer. In order to kill it Mei Yin ended up knocking it upside down with her Drake and making quick work of its underside. Domestication: Some Survivors have managed to tame these however, using biotoxin to leave it a trail of bread crumbs right into a cannon. After using the cannon on its side to knock it over, it was very quickly knocked unconscious using basic narcotics and fed like any other tame. It still preferred the biotoxin over anything, and even ignored the shocking tranqs we tried previously as it just digested it. After tamed It was quite the useful steed. Not quite as fast as the Rock Drake we use, but quick enough and durable enough to go on extended hunting trips for resources and such. Using a vast amount of wood, and platfibers we managed to make a malleable mobile home on its back that we could fold up if we needed to move anywhere or climb. The driver had to lie down of course to have enough room, but we did manage to fit a fabricator, smithy and even a vault on the back. Once we got to a good stopping place we just unhooked the latches and let to fold back out into an open crafting station. Variants: The Glypheoidea being the ancestor of the modern Crayfish It has the potential and capabilities to live in nearly any environment. Crayfish having Gender Dimorphism With females being smaller with lower damage, faster speed, wider tail, and males having larger claws for damage, slower speed, and narrower tails. Variations would be strictly male as the females need a strict environment to actually lay their eggs. Deep Ocean variant found at the bottom of the ocean, Capable of giving off a faint glow around the sides of its legs similar to aberrant creatures. Artic Variant, The spit attack instead of being normal water it is a slowing ice effect like the snow owl except a breath attack like the Managarmr, and the Corrupted Variant being much faster and having 2 Crusher Claws rather than a Crusher Claw and a Pincer. Riding: It would be similar to the Megachelon in the sense that it has 2 basic attacks, 1 Attack using it's claws and another spitting water in front of it, though this uses some of its water stat. This attack can be changed to be a stun like attack similar to the Voidwyrm by feeding it Biotoxin, both slowing creatures hit by it and creatures relatively close to it. When the Saddle is closed the rider will lay down on its back while riding and the creature is capable of climbing cliffs similar to the Megalania, by digging it's larger claws in to the rock. Stationary: When not actively moving you can fold the saddle out forming a decently wide platform saddle fitting whatever crafting stations you would like in the slots in the creatures inventory. While in this mode, the creature has half movement speed, and cannot climb. This mode would be useful to accompany survivors near the rock drake nest as a temporary outpost to repair hazmat and or log off, as with a hazard saddle nothing inside is affected by radiation. Similar in design to a Mobile Home that can fold out when you decide not to go anywhere. The Glypheoidea is mostly a traveling mount capable of carrying a large amount of items and being a mobile home for an extended period of time, and if Male it could even be a combat mount. A Female could make this a very useful Siege Dino as well As The Enlarge Tail Allows for a Siege Platform to be made providing additional armor and converting the saddle into a pillbox cannon. Breeding: To breed they must be in water and touching the bottom of whatever source to be able to dig in the mud and make a hole to lay eggs in. If not in a suitable environment, the Female is capable to taking an extended period to hatch the eggs inside her body and give a live birth. Additionally Female Variants are capable of being tamed with babies already inside shown by a few eggs being visible by the abdomen, and by the female curling the back of the tail under itself. It would have half weight on structures, wood, stone, and metal. It would be the first creature that has a water stat that needs instead of a food stat, however It gets water from biotoxin, swimming, and being in range of water, and a slight amount of water gained from fish meat. It's platform saddle would be able to fit everything smaller than an industrial grinder, and a maximum of 5 slots for placeable stations (generator, storage, and crafting) and 1 slot for beds, or seating.) Basic Primitive Saddle: 5 slots, and 1 slot Both Genders Hazard Sealed Saddle: 3 Slots and 1 Slot, The Hazard Saddle sports a generator at the back side, (Can be powered by congealed gas balls instead of gasoline to protect from Radiation for all inside the saddle.) Protect from water. Both Genders Combat Saddle: 2 Slots and 2 slots, Provides additional Armor, and Has a Slot at the back for (Minigun Turret, Catapult Turret, Cannon, and Rocket Turret.) Male Exclusive. Traveling Outpost: 7 slots and 1 slots. Wider Platform saddle decreases movement speed and climbing speed greatly, when unfolded, creature is completely incapable of movement and will dig into the mud to save energy. Sports a generator at the back side, (Can be powered by congealed gas balls instead of gasoline to protect from Radiation for all inside the saddle.) Protect from water Female Exclusive. 6. Lobster Art commissioned from RiskyBiscuits, Dossier Sketches commissioned from Lapis. Dossier by Me. Name: Giant Lobster Species: Pemphix Gigantstation Time: Triassic Temperament: Aggressive Wild Just when i thought the ARK’s Oceans were terrifying enough, I come across this oversized Lobster I’m calling Pemphix Gigantstation. This Giant Crustacean has two unique claws, one for grabbing its prey & a more sharper one for stabbing. When it isn’t walking along the ocean floor, it can be seen occasionally hiding in the sands of beaches with only their antenna sticking out. Survivors must not approach a buried Lobster unless they plan to tame one. Domesticated If you managed to tame this Giant Lobster, you’ll find that this Megalodon Sized Crustacean has some incredible utility both inside & outside of combat. The Giant Lobster acts at your Underwater Daeodon, able to heal allies both on Land & Water!! It can even latch itself onto ally creatures, healing at a much faster rate and making its ally invulnerable to damage. It also has incredible mobility being able to walk the ocean floor, swim, walk on land and even climb surfaces with the help of its powerful claws. Abilities: Left Click: Claw Attack (Becomes jab attack if holding a target) Right Click: Grab (Press again to release) (Ability inspired by Elden Ring Lobsters) C: Healing (Can be used on Land & Water) Lobster has a healing bar that starts at 0% but increases at it heals its allies. At 100% it can latch itself onto a single ally super healing it while also preventing the creature its latched to from taking ANY DAMAGE for a period of time. As its Latched, the healing bar will decrease, once the bar reaches 0%, Lobster will detach itself then you need to heal allies to do the super healing ability. (Ability Inspired by TF2 Medic & Ubercharge) Taming: You need to let The Giant Lobster Grab you with its Claw and before it stabs you with its sharp claw, feed it Extraordinary Kibble where it will drop you and become passive for a little bit before becoming aggressive again. Repeat until Tamed Saddle: Lv 65 UNIQUE ENCOUNTER: THE BLUE LOBSTER A Blue Lobster has a 1% chance to spawn in the wild in place of a Regular Red Lobster (HA, I made a funny). It can heal much more than Regular Lobsters but it also has the Unique Ability to launch a powerful Pistol Shrimp like Stunning Punch that stuns targets for a period of time (Cannot be Spammed). Pros: Bulkier & More Combat Version of the Karkinos, Ocean version of Daeodon, Can Climb on Surfaces Cons: Slower than Crab in walking/sprinting, while it can swim it's not as fast as some of the ocean’s fastest swimmers (about Basilo speed), Can only carry one creature compared to Karkinos carrying two, while it can climb, it's not winning any marathons as it is a very slow climber NOTE: If Lobster doesn't win, He'll be back for Gen 1 & Crystal Isles Votes THANKS FOR READING!!
  7. WILD- Emarginachelys Cretacea is one of the most devious beasts any survivor could ever lay eyes on. You would expect to see Emarginachelys dominating lakes or lying in wait within the spacious waterways of the ARKs, but you'd still be surprised. Despite its massive lumbering frame, the creature has even been spotted clinging halfway up the sides of seastacks thanks to its devastating claws! Its abilities don't end there, since like its modern counterparts, it can sink right to the bottom of any depth of water and lie in wait for seemingly days, until just the right moment to launch out its neck and clamp down on anything it deems a worthy meal. DOMESTICATED- I've heard tales of a single warlord who's managed to tame the Emarginachelys, and the method used was nothing short of insanity. Supposedly, the way this warlord tamed what the others called "Marge the Barge," was using certain trophies the creature deems "treasure" that can be gifted until it accepts a survivor as a worthy master. One would have to seek the creature out while its appetite is sated and deliver the trophy. Only after satisfying the creature's greed will you be able to utilize an unstoppable, all-terrain juggernaut! TECH & IDEAS- -Tames by eating a carcass, then gaining a satisfied status similar to the Carcharodontosaurus. Then, must be hand-fed Alpha trophies to gain taming percentage. Can be fed twice before satisfied status wears off, then must eat another carcass. -Might enhance loot drops from defeating Alpha creatures. -Rocking a massive 30% damage resistance and a deep health pool, unless it is attacked while its neck is outstretched, then taking normal damage, this creature encourages timing and patience. Also ignores stuns. -Has a powerful attack where its head can reach out over it's own body length in distance in front as well as over its body and to behind its forelegs. Does massive damage but takes up to 2 seconds to retract its head, taking normal damage until its neck is fully retreated. -Saddle is located under the crest of Emarginachelys' shell, protecting the rider from dismounts and stuns. -Walks/sprints at around the speed of a Trike on land and has a slow in-place turn. Can sink to the bottom of water/ocean bodies, gaining considerable walking/sprinting speed and can swim around Baryonyx speed. -Can use a tail slap if attacking while aiming behind itself. -Can climb much like a slower rock drake using its powerful claws, but no gliding. Climbing speed is the same as its walk/sprint. -Thank you for checking out my creature submission, I thought having a tanky, aquatic, and tactical counterpart to the Rock Drake would be a great way to accentuate the Center's amazing use of biomes and verticality. Regardless of potential changes, I'm greatful for your consideration and wish the best of luck to all of these excellent submissions, most of them blow mine out of the water Here's a slapped together concept art!
  8. Dossier: Name: AmphivoRex Species: Amphibious Glider Intro: In the enigmatic realm of The Center, an extraordinary adaptation has given rise to the AmphivoRex, a captivating creature inspired by the real-world Sharovipteryx. Evolving to thrive in both land and water, the AmphivoRex combines the gliding prowess of its prehistoric relative with newfound amphibious capabilities, making it a unique and versatile companion. Appearance: The AmphivoRex bears a striking resemblance to its prehistoric counterpart, the Sharovipteryx. Its body boasts an elongated form designed for streamlined gliding. With a length of approximately 2 meters (6.5 feet), the creature's remarkable adaptation includes webbed feet and specialized wing structures, allowing it to seamlessly transition between terrestrial and aquatic environments. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/603060206327918004/ https://nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestand:Sharovipteryx_BW.jpg diet: The Amphivorex sustains itself on a diet of various aquatic and terrestrial food items. Its adaptable nature allows it to consume both plant-based and meat-based resources. Survivors can provide the creature with a mix of aquatic vegetation, such as aquatic mushrooms and aquatic berries, along with standard berries and meat. This diverse diet reflects the creature’s versatile lifestyle, encompassing its abilities to swim, glide, and traverse both land and water environments. behaviour: The Amphivorex exhibits a cautious yet curious behavior. It tends to avoid direct confrontations, preferring to rely on its agility and ability to swiftly escape danger. When left undisturbed, it explores its surroundings with a sense of wonder, often using its gliding abilities to move between different areas. In the wild, the Amphivorex can be observed gracefully gliding over bodies of water and scaling rocky cliffs with ease. Its amphibious nature allows it to move seamlessly between land and water, making it a versatile survivor in various environments. While not inherently aggressive, the creature will defend itself if provoked or cornered, utilizing its sharp claws and beak to fend off threats. Domesticated Amphivorex show loyalty to their handlers, forming strong bonds through consistent interaction. These creatures thrive in open spaces that allow them to demonstrate their climbing, gliding, and swimming abilities. With proper care and training, an Amphivorex can become an invaluable companion, serving as a trusty mount and a reliable mode of transportation across diverse landscapes. Habitat and Adaptations: The Center's diverse landscapes have nurtured the AmphivoRex's unique capabilities. Its wing adaptation facilitates both efficient gliding through the air and graceful swimming beneath the water's surface. This dual adaptation has elevated the AmphivoRex as a true amphibious explorer, making it a valuable companion for navigating the land, skies, and aquatic depths. https://www.reptileevolution.com/sharovipteryx.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharovipteryx Abilities: 1. **Amphibious Glide:** The AmphivoRex's wings and webbed feet enable it to glide through both the air and water with remarkable agility. This amphibious gliding ability allows it to traverse land and aquatic environments effortlessly, expanding survivors' exploration horizons. 2. **Aquatic Forager:** In its amphibious habitat, the AmphivoRex excels as a forager, utilizing its webbed feet and gliding motion to skim the water's surface and capture aquatic prey. This natural foraging ability benefits both the creature and its survivor allies. 3. **Dual Defense Mechanism:** The AmphivoRex exhibits a unique defense strategy that capitalizes on its dual abilities. When threatened in the water, it can swiftly dive underwater, employing its streamlined form to evade danger. On land, it utilizes its wings to create a threatening display, deterring potential predators. 4. Wall Climbing: The amphivorex strong limbs and specialized toe pads enable it to cling to and climb vertical surfaces, including rock walls and trees. This ability grants it access to hard-to-reach areas and serves as a unique means of both defense and escape. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharovipteryx Saddle and Taming: The AmphivoRex does not require a saddle to be ridden. Its streamlined body and natural gliding capabilities allow survivors to seamlessly mount and ride it without additional equipment. Taming the Amphivorex requires a hands-on and physically engaging approach, as survivors must ride the creature and accompany it through its natural activities of climbing, swimming, and gliding. To initiate the taming process, survivors need to locate a wild Amphivorex in the forested areas near water bodies within the Center map. Once found, the survivor should approach the creature cautiously and gain its attention. Once the Amphivorex acknowledges the survivor’s presence, they can carefully mount the creature’s back. The challenge begins as the survivor must maintain their balance while the Amphivorex showcases its agility. The Amphivorex will embark on a journey that includes climbing up steep terrain, swimming through water bodies, and gliding gracefully between trees. Survivors must skillfully adjust their position to stay on the creature’s back and keep their balance during these diverse activities. To keep the Amphivorex tamed and cooperative, survivors must feed it a mix of aquatic and terrestrial food items during the journey. This not only sustains the creature’s energy but also reinforces the survivor’s role as a provider and partner. The Amphivorex will occasionally pause during its journey, providing the survivor with the opportunity to dismount briefly to gather more food resources. However, they must remain vigilant, as the creature’s trust can waver if left unattended for too long. Successfully navigating through the taming journey while maintaining balance and nourishing the Amphivorex will establish a strong bond between the survivor and the creature. Once the journey is complete, the Amphivorex will acknowledge the survivor as its trusted rider. As a tamed companion, the Amphivorex can be ridden across various terrains, demonstrating its remarkable ability to transition seamlessly between land, water, and gliding. The survivor’s attentive care during the taming process will ensure a loyal and capable partner for their adventures on the ARK. https://www.reptileevolution.com/sharovipteryx.htm this is weirdly how they run (Note: The AmphivoRex is a fictional creature inspired by the real-world extinct animal Sharovipteryx. The description provided seeks to capture the creature's essence and adaptations within the context of the game.)
  9. Introducing the Lagosuchus by JustCallMeAL, Common Name: Lagosuchus, Species: Lagosuchus Capax, Time: Late Triassic, Diet: Carnivorous, Temperament: Aggressive. Dossier: wild- Crazy is just one of those Ark norms I’ve grown used to as crazy fits the cut here. The Lagosuchus is a crazy impressive as they are capable hunters too, shockingly they’re quite traversal, terrain is no issues for them which makes escape harder. From what I’ve been observing they always found and stay in numbers and primarily inhabit the swamps, rivers and beaches. A fascinating behavior I see from them is their hunting behavior, every time they down something they get whipped up into a frenzy and get stronger as a result I’ve seen them hunt large things with no problems truly quite a force. I’ve seen that they don’t tolerate bleed well and steer clear from creatures that specialize in that. Domesticated- I’m impressed with the capabilities of these fascinating creatures. Taming one requires to dispatch of its pack which then immediately brings it into a docile state, then you work on gaining its trust by feeding it carcasses the better the hilarity they are the better the process goes to gain its favor. As far as their viability goes there’s no shortage! They can traverse many types of environments and terrain with ease. As mentioned earlier their pack and frenzy abilities make them all the more better to handle and survive the Ark with. They also gain a power buff by eating amphibians they really like them. About Lagosuchus: Abilities- climbing, they can climb vertical surfaces and ceilings efficiently, traversal, they traverse well through water and uneven terrain with good speed too. Buffs- Pack Buff they’re stronger together in numbers, Frenzy Buff the more things they eat the stronger they are raising attack and defense and of course when you don’t keep up with the buff you lose it (I was thinking it would last 30 seconds) Amphibian Bonus they like amphibians a lot that they gain strength. Latch Ability- The Lagosuchus has the ability to latch on to large things and deal good damage while being safe it of course comes with the cost of your stamina. Draw Back- they aren’t resistant to gnash effects and take 2x the amount of damage taken from it. I figured this guy needed some sort of kryptonite. Taming- like I mentioned get rid of its pack it can’t be tamed with others it has to be by itself. When you do so then it will get docile and passive drag a carcass to it (the better the creature that the carcass is the better it goes) when you keep doing this it will warm up to you and stay by you and it drools as an indication that it’s hungry, amphibians make the process go quicker. I hope you guys like my Idea/Submission and I hope you guys also dig its concept. Best to everyone who’s submitted and is a part of this!
  10. They are neutral until you gather the materials from the rear, turning aggressive and using their corresponding gas attack immediately upon gathering. Being rather omnivorous when it comes to food, they end up ingesting a lot of different materials. The materials they cannot digest are used in self defense however. If provoked they will spit out whatever indigestible garbage that ended up inside them, soaked in centipede digestive juices, enhancing the effectiveness of the projectile. And if that wasn´t enough they can emit a foul gas around them from their bodies that will turn even the hungriest predator around. Domesticated Many tribes want to get their hands on even one of these beasts for obvious reasons. They are adept climbers and can be used as beasts of burden, but the real power resides in their ability to chuck big globs of acid far away, preferably at an opposing tribe, enhanced by whatever they have in their stomachs. Just be careful as they don´t exactly take kindly to anyone poking around their rears. 11. This is Leaellynasaura, the Center’s new all-terrain support Dino with applications for both PvP and PvE purposes. The medium-sized Ornithischian gets a size boost to be completely rideable, and hails from Prehistoric Australia. The Leaellynasaura is designed as an excellent forward scout and army-support, as well as an all-terrain alternative for Flyers. Let’s get into her abilities, shall we? Design Leaellynasaura are originally small, bipedal ornithischian Dinosaurs from Early Cretaceous Australia and Antarctica. Theorized to be covered in feathers of some kind to aid in temperature regulation. ARKs Leaellynasaura is similar. A naturally albino creature with light blue hues, the feather covered Leaellynasaura is hard to spot amongst the icy places it calls home. Unlike its real world counterpart, the ARK Leaellynasaura is larger, just under the size of a Utahraptor, and has significantly larger front limbs, boasting gripping claws. Dossier “Common Name: Leaelly Species: Leaellynasaura Aquambulatio Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivorous Temperament: Passive” Wild ”Leaellynasaura Aquambulatio are unique little fellas, found in arctic regions. Since they’re lower on the food chain, they can oftentimes be seen by the coasts, where they are the safest. Their fluffy coats offer them protection from the cold, and keeps them relatively dry from chilly waters. They keep to the shores due to the unique method they use to escape predators: walking on Water! Much like Basilisk lizards, they can run on the waves, though unlike them, Leaellynasaura can move at several speeds and even drift! They can even clamber up sheer cliffs if need be. They can often be seen near to the Mammoth herds that wander the Tundra, as they often defend the smaller critters from the ravenous Direwolves and Yutyrannus.” Donesticated “Leaellynasaura Aquambulatio offer unique attributes few tribes out here can master. Particularly, their impressive mobility on both land and water allow their riders to move at significant speed across most terrains, acting as top-of-the-line forward scouts and exploratory mounts. Interestingly, some tribes have been able to coax out a frosty armor from the air trapped within the fuzzy friends feathers, coating their Allies in a frozen armor of some kind, greatly increasing their defenses. If one can master a Leaellynasaura, they can potentially master the entire region.” Ecology Leaellynasaura are found in the north and south arctic regions, particularly around the coast. They are (mostly) herbivores, meaning they are oftentimes on the run from stronger predators such as the Yuty or Direwolves. They have developed a unique taste for Organic Polymer however, and will prey on Kairuku is pressured. They have a unique relation with the Mammoths of the region, oftentimes using their unique abilities to boost up the mammals in defense of their territory. Taming Leaellynasaura are tamed passively, through gaining their trust. Survivors must keep hostile creatures (including tamed ones) away from the Dino long enough for it to develop into a calmed state. Once it is in this state, it must be fed berries, crops, Veggie Cakes, or their favorite, Organic Polymer. If a hostile creature enters a certain radius, Taming Effectiveness and Taming level itself will begin to decrease, and any nearby Mammoths will become hostile. Abilities Leaellynasaura have a wide range of abilities designed to aid survivors in both PvP and PvE environments. Firstly, they are adept at travel, being faster than most other species, similar to the Galimimus. Due to its claws, it also has notable climbing capabilities, identical to those of the Deinonychus. The signature ability of the Leaellynasaura however is it’s ability to run on water, much like the real life basilisk lizard, yet with fewer limitations. Leaellynasaura can move at either speedy or more controllable speeds, allowing it to effectively evade predators or forage for food. While they can’t properly stop on the water, they can quickly drift to get into a new direction. Their traveling capabilities are only supported by their fur insulating riders from both heat and cold. What’s more, is they can provide an icy armor to Allies, increasing defense significantly. This does not heal like that of a Snow Owl, but the Leaellynasaura remains mobile and can reapply the effect when out of harm’s way. Uses ~All-terrain Exploration Mount The Leaellynasaura is a must-have for traveling The Center on foot, and potentially even for caving. Its unique set of skills allow it to be an amazing land mount, where Survivors can quickly escape a bad situation and keep moving to find their next target, and due to its thermal regulation, survivors can worry less about the environments they chose to explore. ~Forward Scout Due to its small stature, natural camouflage, unique skills and impressive speed, Leaellynasaura works amazingly as a forward scout prior to a raid. Few creatures can keep up with it, and it’s capabilities allow its rider to get a complete view of the enemy prior to any assault. ~Bossing/Defense Support With its Icy armor buff applied, Leaellynasaura easily pairs well with Yutyrannus or Mammoth buffs for both Boss fights and Raid defense. It excels especially due to its mobility allowing it to dodge and weave through attacks, making up for it’s relatively small health pool. ~Caving Dino while not as physically powerful as contenders such as the Baryonyx or Thyla, Leaellynasaura makes up for it with its impressive mobility, only matched by Deinonychus and Megalania within most Artifact caves. Notes -I submitted the Leaellynasaura due to the lack of variety in most community votes. While many different species (some good, some bad) have made it into the top ten, the winners are mostly the large carnivores (Charchar, Fasolasuchus, Gigantoraptor) or flyers (Desmodus, Sinomacrops, Rhiniognatha) and I wanted to introduce something new. Specifically a herbivore, as the last herbivore to be introduced was the Amargasaurus on Lost Island (unless the Andrewsarchus eats berries but I don’t recall it doing so). -the Leaellynasaura was designed as both a PvP and a PvE tame to appeal to both crowds. while I’d generally expect more PvE use based on its abilities, It can almost certainly contend among other PvP support Dinos. -I specifically submitted it to The Center due to the map’s wide variety of environments and conditions and the lack of a proper all-terrain creature on the map (that isn’t a flyer). -While it is inferior in several ways to other creatures (Bloodstalkers, Deinonychus) I believe the Leaellynasaura is an excellent mix of several unique abilities that fits into a unique niche on its introduced map.
  12. Welcome to my submission for the Ark The center vote, and in this post i will show you what i had in mind for the Natovenator. In real life: In real life these creatures were quite smaller than what i wanted for ark and they lived fishing in the sea, this species is not a known species so i wanted to represent it here because....it catched my attention and i think the abilities i thought to him are cool. Dossier: Common name: natovenator Species: natovenator peritissimus Diet: carnivorous Temperament: territorial Wild: In the wild the natovenator peritissimus lives alone or in couples, it can be seen hunting fish or small animals in the sea or in rivers, this creature is extremly territorial with survivors or other creatures who try to pass in it's territory, that are normaly beaches or caves with big nests, one admirable behaviour on this species is the dance, it mares this dance as sign if it whill not let you aproach or if you can pass, legends say that survivors tamed those creatures this way, bad face or shaking tail don't move, strange laugh or clapping hands you can pass, a lovely behaviour on this species is that when trying to impress a female it will give gifts hug and kiss, but don't let the lovely acts fool your self, because this creature has the psycopathic behaviour of just diving in the air and catching small creatures and then doping them. Tamed: Only Lucky or strong survivors succeded in taming this magnificent beast, some say that only understanding the significa and then feeding fish will make the creature docile, but others prefered rubbing the egg, putting their lives at risk, after taming them they can flat like a boat, climb, glide and dive really fast in the air or in the wather. Abilities and controls: 1) The natovenator has a boost of 20%of damage in aquatic creatures. 2) When pressing C it activates the peck abilitie that does 40%more damage but only works for a few seconds and it has a cooldown. 3) As a flyer it can carry things with its beak like a small animal or an item, so you can drop bombs while gliding, but you know how to do that. 4) By pressing CNTRL you can activate, the one, the only, DIVE!!! An abilitie that makes you really fast while gliding and if you colide in the ground you don't take damage, and if you do that on a creature if it isn't dead it's because it's really strong, and to get things even better it can be used underwhater but just a bit slower. 5) By pressing y on a creature while gliding it applies a bleeding effect to kill the creature(remembering that it can only do that with samll creatures). 6) If you can't escape a fight just find a climbable place to start gliding and then press CNTRL and C to activate an escape energy to run away. Design and the end: The natovenator is a bit larger than a raptor on ark, and it's arm feathers are long and it has the colors of the dwarf oriental kingfisher in the same order, just adding tiny yellow balls to it's wings and tail, and the female looks like the one from the picture i showed on the beggining, and on it's tail and head it has a crest made from feathers just like the ones in the raptor or in the rockdrake. Well, that's the end i hope you liked my idea, and if you have any questions you can ask me, so thank you, and that is the end.

  14. Lobster Art commissioned from RiskyBiscuits, Dossier Sketches commissioned from Lapis. Dossier by Me. NOTE: This was originally going to be submitted for future Genesis 1 & Center Votes but i Thought it would fit well on Ab because it brought the Giant Crab so Why not have a Giant Lobster there as well. Some abilities may seem out of place but they can be edited to fit map or be brought over to others through transfers. Giant Lobster Pemphix Gigantstation Time: Triassic Temperament: Aggressive Wild Just when i thought the ARK’s Oceans were terrifying enough, I come across this oversized Lobster I’m calling Pemphix Gigantstation. This oversized Giant Lobster has two unique claws, one for grabbing & one for stabbing. It grabs its prey with its grabbing claw before stabbing them with its more sharper claw. When it isn’t walking along the ocean floor, it can be seen occasionally buried in the sands on of beaches with the only their antenna sticking out of the sand. Survivors must not approach a buried Lobster unless they plan to tame one. Domesticated If you managed to tame this Giant Lobster, you’ll find that this Giant Crustacean has some incredible utility both inside & outside of combat. In Combat, The Giant Lobster can use its powerful claws to grab creatures up to the size of rex and stab them with its sharp claw and if you are lucky, can even dismount riders from their tames. It also plays a support role in the Ocean by being your Ocean Version of the Daeodon being able to heal all of your Ocean creatures. It also has incredible mobility being able to walk the ocean floor, swim, and even climb surfaces with the help of its powerful claws. Abilities: Left Click: Claw Attack (Becomes jab attack if holding a target) Right Click: Grab (Press again to release) C: Healing (Only can be used in Underwater (if it wins vote, it can use it on land and water) Lobster Compared to Karkinos The Giant Lobster is more combat based that Aberration’s Giant Crab. While both can carry creatures, The Lobster can only carry one compared to Karkinos being able to to carry two with the Lobster able to carry much large creatures Compared to Karkinos Unlike Karkinos, The Lobster is able to Swim. It’s also a lot slower than Karkinos when walking/sprinting and it cannot jump while Karkinos can. The Lobster has more Damage output & Health than Karkinos. Taming: You need to let The Giant Lobster Grab you with its Claw and before it stabs you with its sharp claw, feed it Extraoridnary Kibble where it will drop you and become passive for a little bit before becoming aggressive again. Repeat until Tamed Saddle: Lv 75 Pros: Bulkier & Stronger than Karkinos, Ocean version of Daeodon, Can Climb on Surfaces, can carry bigger creatures compared to Karkinos Cons: Slower than Crab in walking/sprinting, while swimming it's not a fast as some of the ocean’s fastest swimmers, Can only carry one creature compared to Karkinos carrying two, can’t jump while Karkinos can, while it can climb, its not winning any marathons
  15. So we all know and love (hate) the acid spitting, armor destroying millipede Arthropleura, but now prepare for the new idea of a massive centipede, with two mounted turrets of your choice and the ability to lob exploding acid blobs as the rider, the Latzelia primordialis. So the basic idea for this creature submission would be a rather large, lets say around Basilisk sized centipede that resembles a house centipede, just way bigger. Bit like the Rhyniognatha this creature would be scaled up from its real life counter part, they would live in deeper in the red crystal biomes in Aberration around where you would face Reaper Queens. Now for the abilities i have thought for this creature: Maybe a torpor inducing bite ála Arthropleura Wall climbing (duh its Aberration) Spitting exploding acid globules, think Arthropleura but bigger in scale and with a bit of added AoE (maybe uses things like organic polymer or spoiled meat as ammunition? or maybe they could use the many different mushrooms as ammunition for different effects?) Triple seater saddle (sort of) so the saddle would have obviously the rider, which would be mounted towards the head of the creature, than you have a middle segment and the back segment or tail segment which every you prefer. The middle and tail segments would have slots for them in the creatures inventory when saddled, and would allow you to insert any of the Arks many different mountable turret types on them, making the creature a walking, climbing triple turret of terror. Maybe you have two catapults, maybe a minigun and a rocket turret? The choice is yours to make. As for the stats i would say its on the tankier side, with a good amount of weight for carrying all the ammunition needed for the added turrets, not too fast though. Taming could be something similar to the Rhyniognatha, where you´d have to find the males and harvest the pheromones, get the females to impregnate a dino and wait for it to go pop. Lastly i would like to say that i am by no means an artist and i am not asking anyone, but if you feel like it, feel free to post a prototype dossier here, along with any suggestions of your own. 16. Common Name: Glowlix Species: Corytophanidae Time: Mid-Jurassic Diet: Insectivore Temperament: Aggressiv WILD The Glowlix travel alone at the giant roots of the Luminous Marshlands. They will only attack you if you come really near because they cant see really good . You can also find some Glowlix on the ground searching for their prey . Its not hard to find them because they glow really bright . Domesticated When tamed , the Glowlix will be a strong parthner for your trips in Aberration . They can use their light to protect you from nameless and they can climb , so its not hard to get around . ABILITY The Glowlix has the ability to throw his tale on enemys and bola them for 40 sek. you have to wait 1 min untile his tail grew back. they can climb and deal bleeding damage . TEKSADDLE With his Teksaddle hes able to glide around , shot projectiles , and project a small tek shield in front of his head to block damage , if the shield gets destroyed you will have to wait 3 min to open the shield again TAMING If you want to want to tame that giant lizard you will have to get near him and hopp on his back , you have to be really slow and quiet or else he will attack you . if you hopped on his back the last thing you have to do is pressing key combinations , the key combinationts will pop up on your screen . ----------------------------- I inspiratet myself from the animal (helmet basilisk)
  17. Hello all! This is only my 2nd attempt to come up with a creature for this so take it easy on me I hope you enjoy! This is the Vulpikala, and was heavily inspired by the Vulpes Qiuzhudingi, which is an extinct Arctic Fox believed to be the ancestor of todays modern fox breeds. Of course my creation is not an arctic fox but after generations in the toxic areas of Aberration, It has adapted some extremely unique abilities and traits in order to survive and thrive. NOTE: This is a Hybrid shoulder pet and mountable tame! How? Well Continue and you will see Vulpes qiuzhudingi Paleozoic Period Omnivore Curious / Defensive WILD The Vulpikara spent a great deal of their existance in blistering cold conditions, but upon traveling to this toxic zone, their everyday lifestyles have changed. They spend most of their days as a cute and innocent "fennic" like creature, and love to sit in trees where they playfully observe others. They have been known to "fetch" goodies for those they admire and in some cases become attached to them. They are mainly herbivores eating the fruits of the trees, but when provoked will not pass up a kill. When the Vulpikala feels the need to protect itself, it draws forth the radiation it has stored in its body to undergo a massive transformation, Going from cute and cuddly to LARGE and Formidable! If you are among those that have provoked this creatures transformation, be ready for a true test of speed and power. The true rival of the Vulpikala has always been known to be the Rock Drake. When it senses one of these creatures nearby, it starts to release a trailing glow as it moves signifying that the Vulpikala is warning its master and preparing for battle. Little is known as to why they dislike the Drakes so much, but it is believed this is due to their young being hunted and slaughtered by the drakes for many years. The size of the Vulpikala in full form dominates that of the Thylacoleo. DOMESTICATED Those who have become imprinted on by a Vulpikara have told tales of both true companionship and mystical experiences. The Vulpikara have been changed by the radiation of this abberant zone in a way like no other creature. When they or their partner are in danger, they waste little time leaping into battle from their shoulder and transforming into their full size in a flash that leaves those that see it in awe. This transformation startles all attackers as if they have been paralyzed for a brief time, allowing the Vulpikala and rider enough time to escape or fight. The Vulpikala can be ridden in this stage without a saddle, and is said to have the speed of a lightning bolt when it leaps out of danger, bouncing between cliffs and trees. If the Vulpikala finds itself in a battle it cannot win, it lets out a screech that disorients its opponent, and it releases all of its radiation to the surrounding area causing the Vulpikala to revert to its original form, but giving its master the time to escape as the cloud slows all creatures briefly, and pacifies smaller creatures. Vulpikala have been known to be an explorers best companion in the deepest zones of Aberration. Not only does it give you a get out of jail free tactic when it leaps into battle to save its master, but its ability to leap from cliff to cliff in a flash scaling even the most vertical of cliffs makes it a must have to escape any situation in the deepest depths. It is also an Ideal companion for stealing dino eggs from nests in the blink of an eye. The Vulpikala may transform to protect its master without being told to do so, but it is also known that some masters have forced this transformation at their will using a gas like substance only found in this area. TAMING In order to make one of these adorable creatures your companion, one must first create a bond with the Vulpikala. Once you locate one, approach it with ease as you do not want to both provoke it or scare it away. The Vulpikala will then decide if you are interesting enough to approach as they are extremely curious but prideful creatures. If it approaches you without incident, you then give it a "Toxic Substance" to empower the Vulpikala, then you have started the "Battle Bond" taming method. Once transformed the creature will protect you at all costs but its transformation has 2 side effects. First off it will cause all visible creatures to go into a frenzy, making them attack you without reason. Second, the Vulpikala also starts to build a frenzy meter as you battle along side it. With every kill the Vulpikala gets closer and closer to bonding with you fully but it also gains frenzy. Once frenzied its eyes glow red and it lets out a screech like no other that stuns all creatures around including yourself and attacks without mercy. If you are not lucky enough to get away in time, you may be its next victim. After the frenzy it reverts back to its cute former self and the process continues. Once tamed, the Vulpikala's "Battle Bond" with you is much like an imprint from baby to parent, but forged by the battle itself. The quality of this buff is determined by your skill as a tamer. NOTE: You cannot approach a wild Vulpikala with a tamed creature to start the taming process, and you cannot use a tamed creature to help you battle bond to it. The Vulpikala, as stated previously, is a prideful creature and will only bond with those fearless enough to fight at its side as one. SHOULDER FORM ABILITIES When on the ground, you can whistle the Vulpikala to attack any creature of its size. It has even been know to leap into the air and pull Icthyornis and Dimorphodon strait out of the sky. It has also been known that if it is wandering around on its own it can dig up and find valuable resources for its master. When shouldered, the Vulpikala soothes the master's mind allowing for any buffs applied to itself and allied mounts to last longer. Also reduces stamina consumption. FULL FORM ATTACKS Left Click - Bite attack that hits twice. Once for the initial bite, and once for ripping away flesh. Right click - A claw based slashing attack that damages and bleeds everything in a cone in front of you. C - Used to consume any "Toxic Substance" it is holding and let out a screech that buffs its speed and stamina regen for itself and all allies in the area. (While under these affects, the Vulpikala emits a light in the area due to the radiation consumed. Works like a glow pet.) CTRL - Cosmetic Howl CONCLUSION In my opinion the Vulpikala would be a perfect addition to Aberration as they are swift, can scale cliffs and dangerous areas with ease but in a unique way, and can protect their master with their many defensive traits and offensive traits. Plus the ability to steal the eggs of its only rival is pretty cool in itself I would love to hear your opinions below that could help me shape this creature even more! But remember, all things about this creature are subject to be changed by Wild Card. All art credits go to Blue Willow AI art bot.
  18. Introduction The Kunpengopterus, or the "Monkeydactylus", will be the prime stealth bomber of Aberration, and a raider's best aerial friend. Using its corrosive Gel bombs and excellent climbing and gliding abilities to its advantage, survivors bold enough to tame this vibrant pterosaur will possess a lethal weapons valet and explorative superiority over the caves and caverns of Aberration. (more pretty pictures are in the comments section) Table of Contents: Artwork and Introduction Dossier Potential Base Stats and Spawn locations Taming Before the Jump Leap of Faith Abilities and Controls Abilities Climbing Gels Mobile Chemistry Bench Other Bombs/Throwables Other Notes Controls Dossier Common Name: "Monkeydactylus" Species: Kunpengopterus Fortisarmis Time: Mid-Jurassic Diet: Insectivore/Piscivore Temperament: Docile until Provoked Wild The towering luminous trees and cavern cliffs on this ark harbor a strange Pterosaur that resembles Kunpengopterus. The colloquially named 'Monkeydactylus' make themselves at home in this subterranean world. Similar to the Pteranodon in size, the Monkeydactylus have large forelimbs equipped with proportionally larger hands and opposable thumbs that come in handy when climbing and eating small animals. I've noticed that due to the lack of any real 'sky', the air here is far thinner, resulting in large creatures such as Monkeydactylus being unable to fly. However, its arms and wings are still strong enough to maneuver the rocky terrain with ease. Interestingly, I've had the privilege to watch some of the more daring tribespeople attempt to lasso and ride Monkeydactylus straight off seering high cliffs to tame them. Domesticated When tamed, the Monkeydactylus becomes a deadly effective weapons valet for the adventurous survivors of this ark. After eating a sufficient amount of food, Monkeydactylus regurgitates basic saliva that it can spit on foes below. Clever tribespeople has crafted saddles that utilize 'Monkeydactylus Gel' to their maximum potential. 'Pure Gel' acts as a severe narcotic that deals catastrophic damage to unaware or unprepared adversaries below. Meanwhile, 'Diluted Gel' has various defensive properties, like resistance to spores and acids. I thought I saw everything until I witnessed a group of Monkeydactylus dive bomb from the cavern walls, turning the land a putrid purple with goo and smoke! Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 350 Stamina: 550 Oxygen: 200 Food: 1000 Weight: 320 Melee Damage: See "Abilities and Controls" for base damage values for the differing attacks Torpidity: 1000 Monkeydactylus would spawn within the luminescent Region (blue zone) in groups of 5-6. In the wild, these gregarious groups of pterosaurs would be seen walking or climbing near high cliffs and plateaus across Aberration. With their wildly vibrant color schemes, they would fit right into the lush background of massive mushroom trees and crystalline cliffs. Taming Taming a Monkeydactylus is all about timing and placement. The unique method of lassoing a Monkeydactylus and hunting with them cowboy-style is dangerous, exhilarating, and the prime opportunity to gain a valuable mid-game ally. Before the jump To approach Monkeydactylus to tame them, survivors need to be wearing a full ghillie suit and have a Monkeydactylus lasso (Above) equipped with them as well. A Monkeydactylus lasso can be crafted by killing a Monkeydactylus (one from a different group beforehand) and harvesting the "Monkeydactylus tail". Which when combined with some fiber and thatch, makes for a strong enough lasso to ride a Monkeydactylus (see "Abilities and Controls" for more on the Monkeydactylus Lasso) *If survivors walk towards a group of Monkeydactylus without both or only one item equipped, the Monkeydactylus will stay neutral towards them. However, they will display that they know of your presence, not allowing you to start the taming process. When close enough, survivors need to lasso the Monkeydactylus! This initiates the next phase of taming. Leap of Faith Upon lassoing your target Monkeydactylus, it'll let out an ear-piercing screech as it runs in panic to jump off the nearest cliff! Here, survivors will have 3-4 minutes to catch as many small animals as humanly possible by hunting across the terrain below! Fish and insects are more effective in taming than other small animals since it's their favorite food! Monkeydactylus' favorite prey: Achatina Araneo Arthropluera Coelacanth Dung beetle Meganuera Piranha Sabertooth Salmon Trilobite While hunting during the 3-4 minute period, survivors can utilize the Monkeydactylus' abilities to climb, soar, and skim-feed to tame it. *Skim-feeding is the action of gliding across bodies of water and having the Monkeydactylus open its mouth until it snaps up a fish. A skim-feeding animation would initiate when you attack the surface of the water, and after a couple of seconds, the Monkeydactylus would be seen snatching up fish to add to its taming bar. If survivors fail to gather enough food to befriend the Monkeydactylus or if it takes too much damage, It'll buck you off and begin to attack you! So, be careful when figuring out where and when you want to tame a Monkeydactylus! Abilities and Controls The Monkeydactylus has multiple abilities that allow survivors to maximize both their PvE and PvP potential. *All the following potential abilities and values could be subject to change to whatever WildCard sees as fit and balanced.* Climbing/Gliding Firstly, the Monkeydactylus would join the Rock Drake as the only other climber in ARK Aberration! The Monkeydactylus would be able to climb all surfaces in Aberration, and combined with its great stamina, allows for long ranged exploration into the caverns of the ARK. Whilst they can both climb effectively, the Monkeydactylus is more fragile and maneuverable in the air, having a dive-bomb akin to the Griffin. The ability to climb and glide across far distances perfectly segways into its truly lethal component, the Gel. Gels The primary thing that sets the Monkeydactylus apart from everything in Aberration is its role as a deadly Bomb valet. Over time, a tamed Monkeydactylus passively produces "Pure Monkeydactylus Gel", a corrosive substance that can be used to severely damage unwary survivors and tames. Using bombs and blasts made from the Gel provide a variety of attacks to utilize while gliding. However, when this Pure Gel is chemically diluted with water (cooking it with water), it turns into "Diluted Monkeydactylus Gel", a substance that provides more defensive properties. Pure Gel (Purple Goo) (the Grimace Shake 😮) Monkeydactylus will produce Pure Gel passively over time as long as they have sufficient amounts of food in their inventory. 5 Pure Gel = 1 Jar of Gel Pure Gel and Jars of Gel can be made for different things (see “Other bombs” section for more) Fish meat and Chitin boost Pure Gel production whilst standard meats and other foodstuffs give no boost. The Monkeydactylus' special attack consists of a Pure Gel blast, dealing heavy damage and decent torpor (though not as concentrated as the bomb)(appears as a large, purple ball of saliva that splats on a large radius on the ground). While most creatures use the stamina stat for their attacks, the Monkeydactylus will use up its food stat when it attacks with its Gel. So, it's crucial to keep the Monkeydactylus supplied with its favored food to replenish lost hunger and recharge for more Gel Blasts. Pure Gel can also be crafted into a throwable smoke bomb that deals heavy torpor, decent damage(not as concentrated as the Pure Gel Blast), and induces temporary blindness in a small radius (appears in the form of a purple cloud) Diluted Gel (Teal Goo) Diluted Gel yields various resistances to different hazards survivors face across the ARK. 5 Diluted Gel = 1 Jar of Diluted Gel When Diluted Gel is applied to armor, it provides a perfect counter against the acidic venom of the Arthropleura and other arthropods (it also makes your armor look slick and shiny as a byproduct) All armor types are available to craft with Diluted Gel within the Monkeydactylus' crafting modules (more on that in the "Mobile Chemistry Bench" section) When Diluted Gel is consumed, it grants you extra resistance against Torpor, Spores, Diseases, and some slight health regeneration, at the price of some of your food stat. Mobile Chemistry Bench The Monkeydactylus saddle comes equipped with a mobile chemistry bench along with a few other craftable items: Other Bombs/throwables When combined with different resources, Monkeydactylus Gel can be crafted into different types of items, all having varying effects. Jar of Pure Gel + Basilisk Scales = Poison Grenade Jar of Diluted Gel + Chitin = Regular Antidote (usable on both tames and survivor, heals diseases) Jar of Pure Gel + Narcoberries/ascerabic Mushrooms = Narcotic Bomb (throwable bomb; deals high amounts of torpor, very little damage) Plant Species Z has good synergy with the other throwable bombs Monkeydactylus have, so it's worth equipping them here. Other notes As an overview, a combination of climbing/gliding, the Gels, and the various throwables the chemistry bench provides, the Monkeydactylus is a versatile explorer and fighter that can be deadly to any foe unprepared to fight it. The Monkeydactylus carves out a niche as the prime stealth bomber of Aberration, using the plethora of bombs it has to wreak havoc on everything below. However, riders need to be careful. The Gliding, while flexible, can leave survivors in vulnerable positions when they finally land on the ground. Because the base movement speed of the Monkeydactylus is average at best(becoming exponentially faster when climbing), Survivors need to accurately aim for where they're going to land when in combat. Monkeydactylus Lasso: Another possible item the Monkeydactylus can be used for is the aforementioned "Monkeydactylus Lasso". While it is required to tame the Monkeydactylus, there are a few options on how the lasso should be handled. Option 1: If only a Survivor is carrying it, the lasso would only be able to be used to tame a Monkeydactylus, and would become more useful while riding a tamed one. While Riding a Monkeydactylus, the lasso could be used to wrangle creatures, just the same as the lasso made from the Equus. Option 2: The Survivor can only use the Lasso strictly for taming the Monkeydactylus Option 1 is a lot more fun, We weren't sure if it would be balanced or not, so this one is in the air. If the Monkeydactylus were integrated into the game, I'd be keener on seeing option 1 become a reality. Controls Space (on the ground near a wall) -> Jump on the nearest surface, if you aren't near a climbable surface, this initiates a standard jump-glide like a Deinonychus Space (whilst climbing) -> Detach off of the attached surface (if high enough, the Monkeydactylus will glide off) W+shift (camera pan down mid-air) -> Dive-bomb for acceleration (remember: you can't fly, use this sparingly and with a far distance between you and the ground) Lmb -> Standard Bite; The Monkeydactylus lunges forward to bite its enemies! Damage dealt: 20 Rmb -> Gel Blast; The Monkeydactylus hawks up a giant Gel blast from its gular pouch! Damage dealt: 45 (uses 150 food)(can be aimed from the player POV) X -> Roar/Taunt -> The Monkeydactylus unleashes a loud screech while having its wings fully stretched out in an intimidating display! With all of that being said, thank you so much for taking the time to read through this! We believe that the Monkeydactylus truly fits right in with the colorful and bizarre world of aberration, and we hope you do too! Special thanks to my good friend @Pine.warbler.paleoart on Instagram for helping make this vision a reality.
  19. Common Name: Hatzegopteryx Species: H. kavoratrogon Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Insectivore Temperament: Neutral Wild: Adapted to subterranean caverns, Hatzegopteryx kavoratrogon can be found climbing around the giant roots of the Luminous Marshlands. It has developed a taste for creepy crawlies of all shapes and sizes and behaves aggressively toward them. Otherwise despite its nightmarish appearance this flightless pterosaur is actually quite docile unless provoked. Although reaching a wild Hatzegopteryx in its natural habitat can be physically tricky, the creature's calm demeanor means it can be safely approached and fed chitin or, more effectively, alpha karkinos claws to earn its loyalty. Domesticated: Hatzegopteryx specializes in hunting bugs, crushing them easily and feeding exclusively on chitin. Its powerful beak is especially effective against karkinos, able to use well-aimed strikes to knock them unconcious with similar effectiveness to a catapult. Rumor has it that this ability is also effective for knocking out golems as well! Hatzegopteryx' pick-like forelimbs enable it to scale verticle surfaces with relative ease. This could almost certainly come in handy when trying to snatch those pesky high-up rock drake eggs! Unfortunately its wing membranes have become too vestigial to support so much as gliding let alone powered flight. Although Hatzegopteryx is not semiaquatic per se, it can swim well enough to hunt its karkinos prey. Artist's Notes: This design leans into the now-disproven hypothesis that Hatzegopteryx may have been flightless. I thought it was still a fun idea to experiment with especially in the context of Aberration. I wanted an alternative method to karkinos taming, as messing with catapults or cannons can be resource-intensive and finicky. I've been sitting on this concept for over a month and am excited to finally showcase it! Thank you for checking my idea out and I hope it earns your vote. Community Suggestions: ~If transferred to other maps, this Hatzegopteryx would have an unlockable tek saddle that would equip it with artificial wings and restore its ability to fly.
  20. Giant Charge frog (Electrorana Limoae) The Electrorana Limoae would be the first mount that emits charge. Being able to eat charge bugs to gain charge it can then use its Vocal sac as a large lantern inflating it and filling it with charge to emit light. Abilities: - emits charge - Rideable - It’s saddle can charge batteries as well as be used like a charge lantern. - Can climb walls and zip lines - Can hold creatures smaller than it in its mouth so you can move them up zip lines or cliffs. - Radiation proof - Can use its sticky tongue like a grappling hook to swing like a blood stalker. Taming method: Tame with the help of charge light. You can use charge light to get a wild Electrorana to fill with charge allowing you to ride it. Allowing you to lead it to a charge bug and get it to eat the charge bug. causing it to be tamed after an eating a few charge bugs. Omnivore, eats meat and mushrooms. I think the game of ark needs more than one frog and a giant glowing cave frog would make a fine addition. Imagine how useful the first charge emitting mount could be, for traveling aberrations depths. transporting baby dinosaurs around your base, or stealing baby Dinosaurs from others. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrorana
  21. Introducing Rheobatrachus volans, the Gliding Frog! This animal is based off of a combination of the recently extinct Gastric Brooding Frog and the living Wallace’s Flying Frog. Aberration is no stranger to downright weird wildlife, and what’s weirder than a combination of a frog that gives birth to live babies and a frog that can fly! If this creature was added, it’d certainly do wonders for ARK’s heavily lacking amphibian roster, along with adding something that Aberration sorely needs! The biggest part of Aberration, in my opinion, is the unique methods of transportation that are imposed on the player due to the environment. While end game choices like the Rock Drake are everything you could want and more for cave exploration, I feel like early game creatures like the Ravager and Roll Rat are lacking. Their movement abilities are interesting, but are either incredibly niche in use or aren’t really the best for the map (for example, as much as I love the Roll Rat, on Aberration it’s very prone to just rolling off a cliff, and struggles to turn in tight passageways). Rheobatrachus will be the answer to your early game transport needs and add a new, if a little goofy, way to travel in style! Let's hop into the concept! Table of Contents 1. Artwork 2. Dossier Text 3. Potential Base Stats and Spawning 4. Taming 5. Abilities and Controls - A Flying Frog? - Abilities - Controls 6. Supplementary Links Dossier Text Common Name: Gliding Frog Species: Rheobatrachus volans Time: Holocene Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Evasive Wild Apart from the size, Rheobatrachus volans bears strong resemblance to its recently extinct relatives… except for the fact that this super-charged frog can fly! Well, more like fall with style. Much like other frogs, its sticky toe pads allow it to grip a variety of surfaces with ease. However, the webbing between its digits is specifically designed to catch the air like a parachute! This allows it to leap great distances, then gently float back to earth without a scratch. An excellent adaptation for staying mobile in these twisting caverns! Somehow stranger than the gliding is its preferred method for avoiding predators… weaponised charge light! Females will produce ammunition in the form of specialised eggs, which they swallow and store in their stomach. When threatened, they burp them up, and the resulting blinding flash caused by the eggs bursting open stuns predators long enough for them to make their escape! The males aren’t defenceless either, filling their vocal sacs with charge to put foes in a trance, then croaking loudly to send them running! Domesticated While not the most adept climber, or the fastest glider, Rheobatrachus is the perfect choice for those just starting to explore the depths! The giant amphibian is especially popular thanks to its unique reproduction. Giving birth to live young means that it is far less water-dependent than its kin, making them much easier to keep in captivity. Any added mobility in these caves is invaluable, and its affinity for defending itself with charge light has saved my skin more times than I can count! Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 225 Stamina/Charge Capacity: 300 Charge Regeneration: 150 Food: 1500 Weight: 280 Melee Damage: See "Abilities and Controls" section for base damage values Torpidity: 175 Rheobatrachus would be found in the Fertile/Green Zones of Aberration. You may see this hybrid frog meandering along the ground, or resting in a lofty perch inside the caps of the giant fungal trees. I feel like having an animal, like the Archaeopteryx, that can be found roosting in trees would really help the map feel a lot more alive! All of the “activity” in ARK really happens at the player’s eye level, there’s rarely a reason to look upwards aside from trying to find a flyer. Having a creature that could bring some life to the tree canopy would be more than welcome! Taming While I love a good custom taming mechanic, an early game creature shouldn’t have anything too complex. Rheobatrachus would be a conventional KO tame, but I’d be open to any appropriate suggestions to spice things up! However, there are a few things to note about taming yourself a froggy friend… Diet Rheobatrachus likes to eat, in order of preference: Plant Species Z Fruit (kibble) Mutton Prime Meat I feel having it specifically require Z fruit as its kibble could make things a bit interesting. While intended to be an early game tame, if you really want to kibble tame it, you’ll have to wait till midgame to get a good one. Also, a few of its abilities would most certainly be useful for midgame and even into the lategame as a taming helper! Mobility These frogs are so fine tuned for movement, even bola-ing them down doesn’t stop them completely! I think it would add to the personality of the Rheo if it could still manage a (pitifully) slow crawl while trapped in a bola. Not the fastest or most dignified escape, but it’s all it can manage when its back legs are all tied up! Abilities and Controls A Flying Frog? First things first, lets get this out of the way. I hear you, how does this thing not invalidate creatures like Beelzebufo and Rock Drake? Simple, it has its own niche! Below is a handy dandy chart detailing how its mechanics differ from the rest of the bunch! Art also thanks to RRG! In terms of abilities: The Rheobatrachus would be a wonderful way to get around the upper regions of Aberration! While its combat prowess leaves a bit to be desired, it more than makes up for it in its utility! Both males and females can spread their webbed toes wide to catch the air below them, turning them into living parachutes! Both can also manage that awkward, but endearing, frog climb up a variety of surfaces! However, each has their own charge light themed abilities! Males Males are able to inflate their vocal sacs and fill them with charge light, turning them into a living lure that can slowly lead creatures to different locations. While the sac is inflated, you won’t be able to glide. Females Females will use their charge light stat to slowly produce ammunition, much like Rhyniognatha’s conversion of sap to resin. The ammo will be in the form of explosive eggs! These eggs can be shot out in front of them and create a flash of light, like Plant Species Z. A unique feature of this amphibian is its reproduction. It will give birth to live young when bred! In terms of controls: Left Click : A simple bite. 12 base damage. Harvests a good amount of chitin! Right Click : On males, this will do the equivalent of parasaur's scary honk. On females, it will be a small forward stomp with 20 base damage. C : Charge-based abilties! Males will glow and lure things towards them, females will shoot out a singular egg from their ammunition stockpile. Left-Control : Activates climbing mode. Being a frog, this fella can climb, just nowhere near as fast as creatures like the Rock Drake or Megalania. Really, its climbing is just enough to help you not have to take the long way round if you fall off a cliff. Spacebar : Leap! Can be aimed much like the Procoptodon's/Karkinos' jump. Holding spacebar activates the parachute. 22. SCRAT BUT IN ARK Ark has many creatures, including the mammoth, the saber-tooth tiger, the giant ground sloth, and even ice age baby(if you make you character creation correctly). So I thought to myself( which I sometimes think to myself) ,"What about scrat? Why is Scrat not in ark and all the other characters from ice age are?," So that gave me an idea! There is a creature vote coming for abb so why not make this creature perfect for this map. After hard(sort of) work, I INTRODOSE(idk how to spell) CRONOPIO!!! ANYWAY HERES THE DOSSIER DESCRIPTION WILD The Cronopio is a very unique creature. It's stealthy and nocturnal making it a very skilled hunter. Cronopio can become almost invisible besides a slight outline that is hard to spot before its to late. The Cronopio can jump from tree to tree. It can also climb up cliffs, trees, mushrooms, walls and even large creatures(pacers). Cronopio has a venomous bite that can knock out even the largest of creatures. This squirrel stalks its prey and watches in the shadows until the perfect moment. Dentiacutus has two different variants one having a bushy tail and other flat. Domesticated To tame the Cronopio you need to lure wild creatures into its territory. The Cronopio will realize your helping it and become tamed (this is way harder than it sounds). Once tamed Dentiacutus is a great travel, stealth, and pvp mount. It can be commanded to become invisible(sort of) and it can also be told to stalk specific prey to track down and kill. Cronopio can also hold structures such as walls, roofs and even vaults down on enemies(this is very different from the rhino). THE SADDLE!!!!! Text: "Two seater saddle and rocket launcher attachment" "Extra Padding on the side for bullet proof protection" I wanted to saddle to be something cool and unique so I did what any normal person would do and add a rocket launcher attachment, I think its cool thou. Anyway I thought of this saddle having like a riot themed saddle and good for snipers. PVP AND STEATH MODE Cronopio is a very useful pvp mount. The ability to climb walls at high speeds makes an easy access to an enemies base. You can also pick up body bags within the fangs of Cronopio, so if you died it's an easy recovery. The Saber-tooth squirrel has a unique ability to become invisible. Stealth mode lasts for one minute and has a cool down for five minutes. You can shorten the cool down by two seconds(seems like not a lot but if you being sniped then its very useful) if you have a pack of two Cronopios. If there is another added to the pack of two the cool down gets doubled. So if you have four Cronopios in a pack it gives eight seconds off the cool down. Stealth mode also gives you increased speed and jump hight.
  23. Introducing the giant aye-aye, Daubentonia! Aberration is where horrors of the night thrive: the aye-aye is a nocturnal lemur who, in folklore, could mark people for death by pointing at them! In-game it would be a rideable climbing creature that is reactive to charge light, and who attacks by stunning/hypnotizing players and dinos at range. If you like my idea, please give it a vote! Feedback and suggestions would be great! I hope you like it! Here’s some reasons why I think it would be a great addition- o Nocturnal creatures are a great fit in Aberration- and an opportunity for jump-scares, including making the player hallucinate. It would be extra-powerful at night and on Aberration, but unlike the Megalosaurus, would not be useless once the sun comes up. o Climbing and using ziplines- a more support/utility alternative to rock drakes and ravagers. Great for building, taming and stealing rock drake eggs! Aberration, especially on single player, really needs a smaller creature that can climb and help with building taller structures. o Easy-to-aim ranged stun/ torpor attack by pointing/ glaring at enemies. Only applies torpor at night or on Aberration but can still stun during the day. When used at night on players, will cause them to hallucinate visions of predators (as well as stun/ torpor). o Enemy detection by echolocation, including being able to spot hidden rock drakes, basilisks and purlovias. o Turret mode that uses both enemy detection and ranged stun, even when latched to walls and ziplines. o Reactive to charge lights- A reason to turn off glow pets in the blue zone, and to go high up in its tree roots (where there’s currently not much to do). Can be passively tamed when charge lights are off, but be ready to fend off the Nameless! o Most predators will not attack it unless provoked, and aye-ayes are immune to red-zone radiation, perfect for a first tame to explore the red zone and rock drake trench with. o Auto-harvesting sap and giant bee honey when latched to trees or next to wild beehives. o Auto-feeding its rider with giant bee honey, which takes longer to spoil in its inventory. (Credit to Metatrox for the dossier template provided on the forum) Background The giant aye-aye (Daubentonia robusta) lived until around 1,000 years ago in Madagascar. Under the cover of darkness, it would search for fruit, sap and insects. It would find insects by tapping tree trunks and detecting the vibrations off the bugs, almost like echolocation. The latin name for the Ark’s aye-aye could be Daubentonia torvexspiravit (meaning ‘glaring ghost aye-aye’). Its modern counterpart, the aye-aye, is now endangered (but was itself once thought to be extinct, just like the coelacanth). It is the target of Malagasy superstition; it is believed that those pointed at by an aye-aye have been marked for death. Their ears and long fingers have evolved a similar sense to echolocation. This, coupled with its creepy appearance and large, nocturnal eyes, are a fantastic inspiration for Ark’s own version of this evolutionary experiment. It’s believed D. robusta looked like a larger version of the modern aye-aye but there is not enough fossil evidence to confirm this. D. torvexspiravit will be even bigger, much larger than the player and able to be ridden. While the local folklore surrounding aye-ayes does make for an interesting addition to the game, it is in real life a cause for wild aye-ayes to be hunted. Aye-ayes are endangered (and at one time themselves were believed to be extinct). Adding this to Ark would help raise awareness about modern aye-ayes and their persecution. Dossier Wild While the Arks are patrolled during the daylight by towering reptiles and fierce predators, Daubentonia has made a life for itself under the cover of darkness. Wild aye-ayes shy away from all light sources, including charge light. While you’re unlikely to see an aye-aye, you may hear them tapping trees to hunt insects with their freakishly long fingers. Aye-ayes prefer to hide away from combat, but when cornered can stun a would-be attacker with a hypnotic glare. Even the largest foes can be frozen for long enough to allow an aye-aye to escape! If you can approach an aye-aye in the dark without startling it then you may be able to tame it with its favourite food, honey. Domesticated While not the most appealing-looking creature on the Arks, aye-ayes make for intelligent and loyal pets. When ridden, they can climb up trees and along ziplines. They will even share their favourite food with a hungry rider! For the more sedentary tribes, they can latch onto trees or beehives and gather sap or honey. Daubentonia’s unique set of talents can provide valuable support to any tribe. During the night, their stunning glare can be used just as effectively on command as in the wild. I have seen a tribe keep aye-ayes inside their homes to detect and stun intruders. Their enhanced senses allow them to detect nearby aggressors, even in caves. Wild Behaviour Spawns high up in the trees of the bioluminescent zone- it’s such an amazing part of the map but there’s currently little reason to go there. It’s also fairly hard to get to, so the chance to tame an Aye-aye would make the journey worthwhile. An alternative is the redwoods of the Green Zone but this would be too easy to get to and doesn’t punish you for having charge lights off in the area. Unlike other aberrant creatures, aye-ayes should not be bioluminescent. They should be dark and hard to spot; their glowing eyes and sounds of tapping on branches the only signs they are near. This would make a surprise encounter, especially for the first time, even more thrilling. Other wild dinosaurs do not attack aye-ayes as they fear their mysterious abilities. Nameless and reapers do not attack wild aye-ayes however they will target tamed ones. Their temperament is defensive- if the player comes too close with charge lights on it will retaliate with a ranged stun attack. This stun attack can induce torpor even when a player is riding a dino. This however is not used to kill the player: only in self-defence and the aye-aye will retreat afterwards (to match the lore behind it looking much creepier than it really is). In the dark of the blue-zone this stun could be a creepy jump scare (including showing hallucinations of predators on the screen). With all lights, including charge light, turned off, a player can approach the aye-aye to tame it. Taming Passive tame- Approach them with charge light/pets/torches turned off. If the aye-aye is up a tree or a blue zone root it can be lured down with giant bee honey. Once on the ground it can be passively fed honey, sap, citronal, berries or chitin (in order of decreasing effectiveness). Just like many passive tames if it takes damage the taming progress will reset. Passive tames are usually quite easy, however the real challenge will be surviving long enough with charge lights turned off to complete the taming process. You’ll have to fight off the nameless and reapers without hitting the aye-aye and resetting your progress. Utility These are ideas and abilities I think would fit the Aye-aye and be a good fit for Ark, hopefully WC will follow this same idea. Ridden- The aye-aye would require a saddle to ride. The saddle should be craftable at around level 60, requiring hide, fiber, fungal wood and blue gems. The aye-aye is adept at climbing, able to climb like a thyla or dinopithecus. They can use ziplines, walking on top of the zipline like ravagers. It has a fairly fast sprint on land (similar speed to a Baryonyx) and good ability to jump. It would be immune or resistant to fall damage. Being a smaller climber on Abb would be super helpful for building as rock drakes are too big and clumsy for this and climbing picks have limited durability. Players can use weapons from the back of them, even when climbing or on ziplines. Even when ridden they can still detect enemies. When the player’s hunger is below 50% the aye-aye will automatically feed the player giant bee honey from its own inventory. Like the dinopithecus, most predators will not attack a tamed aye-aye unless provoked. The exceptions (on Aberration) to this are rock drakes, reapers, nameless, karkinos, spinos and direbears. Alongside an immunity to the red zone’s radiation, this makes aye-ayes a great first tame for exploring the red zone and artifact caves. Combat- Instead of relying on biting in combat (the bite should do around base 35 damage), the aye-aye has a ranged stun attack that can also apply torpor. The ranged attack’s animation should look like the aye-aye pointing, just like in Malagasy superstition. Night vision goggles could prevent this attack from affecting players or tames that can wear it. When ridden, a reticle would be on-screen to help aim the attack. This attack would require good aim and is therefore easier to use against large creatures than players. At night time (or always on Aberration) this ranged attack will hypnotise its target and apply significant torpor. Stun recharge is too long to stun-lock but each stun lasts long enough to out-manoeuvre enemies. Torpor is applied gradually, so will still stack despite the lower frequency stun. During the day the attack is still useful for stunning enemies before using tranqs. At night and on Abb extra tranqs won’t be needed for knocking out creatures! When the ranged attack is used on players it will cause hallucinations to appear on the screen; this will take the form of Aberrant predators (randomly chosen, could be raptors, ravagers, carnos or megalosaurus) running towards them, vanishing once they get too close. This can also be caused by wild aye-ayes. This effect makes more sense to only happen at night or on Aberration. This attack would be especially scary as the target would also be stunned! This ranged attacked would work in turret mode, alongside enemy detection. This makes aye-ayes a perfect base defence tame. Enemy detection- As modern aye-ayes can ‘echolocate’ by tapping their long fingers on trees, they should be able to detect nearby enemies in-game. The in-game animation would be the aye-aye tapping the ground and then listening. It can also detect invisible rock drakes and underground basilisks/purlovias, and is therefore useful as a more versatile alternative to parasaurs. Can be used when ridden or set to turret mode (turret mode can also auto-stun, auto-detect or both using the radial wheel). Can even work when latched to walls. When ridden, enemy detection is the ‘roar’ attack. Resource gathering and auto-feeding- When dismounted while climbing, it stays latched onto any surface. If latched onto redwood trees it will passively gather sap slowly. If near wild beehives or honey resource nodes it will passively gather giant bee honey (but more slowly than a tamed hive). Auto-gathering can be turned on or off using the radial wheel. Only gathers sap and honey, not berries. The bite attack will gather small amounts of berries or mushrooms if used near a bush. The amount gathered is very small, less than an iguanodon, to prevent the rider being encumbered after every fight. This bite can still harvest meat and hide, but less effectively than carnivores. It has a weight reduction of 50% for berries, honey and sap. Honey spoils more slowly in its inventory to make it better at auto-feeding and auto-gathering. When the rider’s hunger is below 50%, the aye-aye can automatically feed them some giant bee honey from its inventory. This ability can be toggled with the radial wheel, just like turret mode settings. Overall, functions similarly to a mid to late-game rock drake/ravager but also has its own unique uses. Being smaller than rock drakes, it can be used to climb structures and make base-building easier (it’s currently a pain on Abb). Its stun attacks, rock-drake detection and climbing abilities would make it great for helping steal rock drake eggs or caving. It can be used on Abb, or at night time, for taming (and in the day time you can fire tranqs off its back). It’s also different enough to the previous two to not fully outclass them- ravagers will still be better for pack-based combat and as a pack mule, and rock drakes would have better health and faster movement when gliding. As well as being a traveling and taming mount, aye-ayes could be useful in PVE and single player for gathering honey or sap in an alternative way, reducing the need for tree taps. In PVP it could have a niche use for stunning enemies or riders- it’s stunning abilities can be devastating when used right! They would also make a great turret tame and synergise well with other turrets by stunning targets. Wikipedia for Daubentonia robusta- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_aye-aye Wikipedia for the modern aye-aye- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aye-aye Thanks for reading! What are your thoughts on the aye-aye? What do you think its stats should be and do you have any additions that could improve this creature? I’ve tried hard to make a creature that would be a fun, useful and balanced addition to Aberration that fits the theme. I think all of the suggested abilities make sense for this creature but I’m happy to hear your opinions!
  24. Dossier Transcript Common name: Giant Sloth Lemur Species: Archaeoindris kakopios Time: Holocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild You’d be forgiven for mistaking Archaeoindris kakopios for a species of bear or even a giant ground sloth, but fascinatingly, it is actually a giant lemur- unfortunately, their habit of pelting rocks at passersby has thus far kept me from studying them closer for long, though their “songs” are loud enough to be heard for quite aways, and may well keep you from walking into the faceful of rocks they throw at visitors. Domesticated Archaeoindris share close family bonds that cannot be broken in the traditional taming manner, nor are they such psychopaths that they’ll go along with the killers of their family group like a Dinopithecus- the only method that seems to have ground to stand on is kidnapping an infant while the Parents and sibling aren’t aware- this tends to require some significant stealth prowess. Once this kidnapped infant is raised, though, it will become a handy tool in many survivors' arsenals. Among Archaeoindris’ specialities are its superb hearing and “singing”- a tamed Archaeoindris can be coaxed to listen out for creatures and will attempt to communicate some of what it hears to the rider. The “song” however is more of a double edged sword- capable of warding off some creatures on the smaller side, but possibly drawing in larger predators should they hear it, so it’s always handy to check what might be listening before trying to scare away a pack of ravagers or the like. Additionally, the throwing skills of the Archaeoindris may come in handy should survivors want to bludgeon things into submission, and its climbing capabilities are not the worst i’ve seen. Additional Info Attacks/movement options Primary: basic attack Secondary: Aim/throw rock Tertiary: Song Quaternary: Listen Climbs using the same system as a ferox Taming Enter the Archaeoindris territory with Ghillie on, and distract them with another tamed creature or some other source of noise while you go for the infant. Alternatively you can murder the whole family other than the desired infant but that seems less fun Author’s notes I think Lemurs are kinda weird looking Picture sourced from google by Van Hoang Dao
  25. Reason Aberration is an incredible map, with beautiful biomes and and treacherous terrain. Aside from Rock Drakes, not many Aberration creatures can travel the different biomes without the use of a cryopod. That's where the Simocyon comes in. Creature Info Simocyon batalleri is an extinct relative of the Red Panda, belonging to the family Ailuridae, which lived in the late Miocene and early Pliocene across Europe, Asia, North America and Africa. Like the Red Panda, simocyon was an adept climber, however, unlike the red panda, Simocyon was predatory, and had the same false thumb Giant Pandas use to hold bamboo. Additionally, some researchers have suggested that Simocyon had the same kind of bone-crushing bite a hyena. They grew to a similar size to the modern-day cougar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simocyon https://carnivora.net/simocyon-batalleri-t350.html Wild Living in the fertile depths of the Mushroom Forest and River Valley, Simocyon is completely at home amongst the redwood trees and rocky cliffs. They use their dexterous hands to grab their prey, and incapacitate them with their bone-crushing bites. A careful predator, Simocyon will not attack survivors unless provoked in some way. With their powerful limbs and thumb-like claws, they have no issue scaling steep surfaces. They can jump higher than similar-sized creatures, and are able to run in a "skipping" motion, bounding upwards on their two rear legs before landing on their front limbs at increasingly greater speeds the longer they run for. The Simocyon can grab live prey in its hands, and sit back onto its back legs while biting the unfortunate creature. Taming To befriend a Simocyon, the survivor must trap them in a bear trap, and feed it rare mushrooms. This will enrage the creature, and and others of its kind nearby, whilst also increasing the creature's torpor. Once it breaks free of the trap, the survivor must not harm it, and try to survive its furious attacks before trapping it again. This process is repeated until the Simocyon falls unconscious, where it can then be fed to tame. Domesticated A domesticated Simocyon is the ideal travel-mount for crossing the green and blue zones of Aberration. With its climbing abilities and vicious bite, Simocyon can get just about anywhere, and has the strength to fend of small-to-medium opponents. This creature can run along zip lines and vines with ease. Using the Simocyon's special bone-crushing bite ability, the rider can give wild and enemy creatures a slowing effect that reduces the speed of their movement. Additionally, a tamed Simocyon can grab smaller creatures and players when ridden, and either hold them in place while the captured creature is tamed; or, deal savage bites to the captive enemy. Attacks LMB: Slash attack (faster, less damage) RMB: Bite attack (slower, more damage - hold for 5 seconds to do bone-crushing bite) C-Key: Grab attack Saddle Unlocking As a mid-game tame, the saddle should be available around Level 37
