Three New Defences Now that the new genesis creatures have been balanced out a bit, one element of raiding still seems very consistent. No matter if its an online or offline raid most raiders at some point are forced to maintain a distance and do some form of soaking before moving into an enemy base. These three base defense ideas are intended to shake things up and keep raiders on their toes. They also enhance all aspects of base defense, from active defending, offline defending and even retaliation. Hope you guys agree! 1. Grapples for ballista (non platform only, rafts ok)-I've seen this suggested a couple times on steam and reddit. The idea is that a ballista could shoot a larger grappling hook that could pull in larger dinos from beyond turret range. The grapples should be extremely expensive and deteriorate fairly quickly once attached, as this can be a death sentence under the right circumstances. While the grapple should be able to fire beyond turret range it should not be able to pull that same distance with one grapple, giving the raider ample time to retrieve/whistle their dino to safety. Personally I would like to see ballista and catapults used more frequently in both raids and base designs. 2. Cyropod Turrets-One of my own ideas that I think could be really interesting. These turrets would increase fuel consumption and have a far smaller range than that of regular turrets, as well as a cooldown in between shots and a limited storage capacity of say 10-20 slots, but it can be loaded with your own frozen tames. The idea is that as raiders are moving in to a base and soaking they could occasionally trigger one of these turrets and now must deal with an aggressive tame nipping at their heels. This would be useful as it would allow dinos to be implemented as base defense tools, without making them sitting ducks for the raiders to pick off. 3. Tracer Ammunition-A very expensive round that can be loaded into turrets. The round would require electronics and perhaps a few other materials. Once fired into a tame or player the round will imbed itself into the target for 36 hours and report the targets server location to the tribe log without notifying the raider(s) that they are being tracked. This means that if a tribe is offline raided they can still track the attackers to their home server and plan a retaliation via their own attack or by seeking help from an allied tribe. Those are my three ideas. Let me know what guys think, whether they are good ideas or horrible, I wont mind. Cheers!
Let's all have fun enough of this over toxicity Don't know why people say solo is hard on small tribes when it's no where near as hard on normal pvp server, it is legit impossible to progress with alot of OP and toxic tribes to compete with. And nearly as hard to find a decent tribe to join without getting insided.. we all spend massive hours on this game and starting off is hard and frustrating.. I would really love to see some actual tribe battles and not real dog act moves where people are destroying wooden bases and taking everything they have, even lvl 30 parasaurs when the raiders themselfs have lvl 300+ wyvernns.. I'd have to say ark is the most toxic game out there, you can play it's for years and progress only by lvl.. If your reading this give low lvl people or tiny tribes a chance, theres no reason to be so toxic, if your base could get wiped by low lvls then upgrade it and not wipe everyone you come across.. if some1s on an argy and your on a mana, griffin or wyvernn have a laugh and do circles around them not just instant kill them and there tames.. even just make them land and drop all there stuff if you wish, make if fun for both players... if you really get off being lvl 100 and killing lvl 5s then you need to change your actual real life problems because your being like a baby hitler lol
Need Xbox server to be admin-builder on I'm looking for a good server that I can be a builder admin on. I'm on almost everyday, but I don't have the time take care of a full tribe, or worry about going solo. But I absolutely love building. If I were an admin on your server, I would be happy to build anything the server needed. Whether that be a coliseum, a shop (which I would be happy to run), raid bases, an admin center hub, etc. I'd also be happy to help as an admin around the server. (Fixing any tribe problems, clearing out old traps and destroyed bases.) I am centered in the central time zone, I know most commands by heart, and I'm a nice guy willing to help out your server. Reply if your interested!
Downloading Xbox Account, Ark Data & Bugs I had to redownload my Xbox live account to get past Arks loading screen awhile back because of a bug in the game that I hope has since then been fixed. My question, or suggestion or however you would take this stems from when I redownloaded my Xbox Live account on my Xbox One and opened ARK, my character was there too use, but my base, all my Dinos I had tamed and bred, including boss rexes that took to say the least AWHILE to breed were all gone. What I would like to ask... is if one of your customers, like me for example, spent money on an Xbox One X to upgrade from just an Xbox One, would we lose ALL of those days, weeks, months, even years in some cases of progress of building and taming when we download our Xbox Live Account on our new system and start playing? If so I was really hoping and praying this is something you can change. When we download our accounts on to a new system we shouldn't just get our character we should get our GAME that we have saved on our accounts. Bases, Tames, etc. All right where we left them. That is where the real time in this game goes, and if you lose it that easily it is really hard to want to keep playing. My suggestion is you guys should really work on backing up the data surrounding a character/account including builds, tames, and all the map data in general. If there is some reason this can't be done then I would really like to hear it because that definitely should of been something to consider when you designed the scope of this game and the time it takes to play it. For PC and Consoles we should be able to back-up our map data or an entire save file to retrieve later if some bug wipes our games out. This has happened to me 3 times on single player. I have recently started again on single player and it seems to be working right for the most part for the first time ever, but I was still really considering quitting playing because progress in this game is VERY time consuming and we shouldn't have to lose all that just because you guys update the game and then bugs run wild. Please figure out away to just get our whole save file backed-up, or it at least gives us our whole save file, map data, tames, builds and all when we download our Xbox/PlayStation Accounts on a new system. It is only fair, because I dont know if I could continue to ever play this game again if I lose all my progress, builds and tames for a 4th time... Please look into this... Thank you for your time.
