The game settings that you can download/change by allowing the Expert Mode for the rented Nitrado servers for xbox show the resolution set to 1080x720. I have the new xbox one x and a 4k or 3840x2160 resolution tv. is there any reason i should not use the full 4k resolution setting by changing the resolution setting on my rented server from 1080x720 to 3840x2160 ?
Long story short. Had ARK Survival Evolved on PS4, got to like level 89 single player. PS4 Died and didn't have saved games backed up to cloud. Bought a new PS4 PRO to go with my 4k tv and installed ARK and restarted from scratch. I do not currently have any expansions or DLC, just vanilla ARK Survival Evolved. Sometime after the Dec 12th patch I noticed a HUGE improvement in graphics. Water and lighting went from how they always looked to WOW WOW WOW WOW stunning. Tonight after the latest 1.54 patch the graphics went back to how they always looked. The texture on the beach had changed too. My main base of operations is at the Northern 3 spawn point, last bay before the cold line. I know this bay inside and out because it's where I've always been. The beach changed from sandy to a more defined rocky look and the water and lighting looked absolutely stunning...now all gone including the beach texture reverted back to sandy. Am I going crazy or did this really happen? Also why is it so hard to find notes on the latest patches. There's a sticky with notes on 518.2 but it's dated from March 27, how is that still relevant? No mention of graphics anyway. So what is the deal, Does Ark support 4k on the PS4 Pro or not? And how do I check and verify whether it is actually running in 4k without having to fly over water and look at it from different angles and rely on memory?
