There's a couple choices-Icthyosaurus, Baryonyx, Sarco, and Megalodon. I quite like the sarco, as crocodiles are cool and it's got a solid mix of speed and power. It can also walk up onto land, so you don't need a water pen for it. They're somewhat easier to tame than barys because they don't have the stun, and like I said, they're a lot faster than almost anything else in the water. Megalodon are pretty cool as well-once found one stuck on herbivore island and promptly tamed it-only to find I couldn't get it unstuck. Me, being the idiot that I am, killed it, forgetting about cryopds... Anyway, what are your opinions? Cheers, good luck, and happy ARKing!

Image courtesy of AfricanAquaticConservation.org Background: The Pezosiren Portelli was an early ancestor of the Sirenia line of aquatic mammals (Ancestor of Manatees and Dugong before they became fully aquatic), that lived about 50 million years ago in the Eocene. The Pezosiren Portelli is a dog or pig sized herbivorous creature that lived in shallow waters and coastlines in tropical and warm climates. Many fossils of this creature have been found in Jamaica. Although having 4 legs equipped to walk on land they had many adaptations for aquatic life, like heavy rib bones to help with submerging and an opening on the top of their snouts to resurface and breath easier. Wikipedia for those interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pezosiren Hello Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to check this suggestion out! I play Ark as a very casual player and I thought this would be a funny idea for my first creature submission! I've spent a lot of time making this creature as unique as possible, so if you enjoy this guy and want to see his on your local Ragnarok beach sun tanning, consider upvoting! Now meet, The amazing, Pezosiren Portelli! <In-Game> Due to the abundance of Vegetation on Ragnarok, and places to sunbathe, The Pezosiren Portelli has grown to be the size of and adult Hippopotamus. These large lads can be found on, and in the waters around the beachy areas near jungles, relaxing and tanning. Oftentimes they are seen floating belly up in the water sleeping, or sunbathing in groups of 2-4 on the sand. With a lack of any significant predator, these guys simply lack the ability to be mean, making them one of, if not the most friendly creatures you'll ever meet! The Portelli is such an expert of relaxation, that it has mastered the ability to remain perfectly still while snoozing, becoming invisible to the naked eye. They are a good early game water and land support tame. With the Pezosiren Portelli by your side, you and your tames will be much safer when exploring the Ark! <TAMING> Taming this Giant couch potato is a very easy task for any new or experienced survivor. When a Portelli is sunbathing, or floating aimlessly in the water, sneak up to it, and give it belly rubs. This will prompt the Portelli to want a snack. It usually asks for berries, rare mushrooms, or rare flowers. Give them enough snacks, and they'll be your best friend forever! <ABILITIES> ● Conceals your Tames when snoozing When resting near your tames, the Pezosiren Portelli will "hide" your tames from pesky predators, making them significantly harder to be targeted by aggressive dinos. This only works when they are stationary and snoozing, but providing a good area of effect, easily encompassing an early game beach hut. No longer will you come back to your base to see all of your Dodos killed by a pesky Compy, or pack of Raptors. ● Makes Mud Balms to Cloak Tames on the go When the Portelli is given cementing paste and thatch in its inventory, it will begin to convert it into Mud Balms. When thrown at your tames, the smelly nature of the Balm will help hide the creature from wild dinos for a short period of time, making them harder to be detected by predators. This Mud Balm even makes it harder for the Parasaur to detect them, making sneak attacks on enemy tribes all the sneakier. ● Reduces the amount of food tames need to eat When sleeping at your base, it's laziness rubs off on your other tames, making them less hungry than normal. This passive ability reduces the amount of food that your dinos need to consume to be full, saving you all the time it takes for meat runs and berry farming! ● Too Slippery to be grappled underwater The large amount of blubber and fat on the Portelli and their smooth skin, make it very hard for creatures like the Tusoteuthis to latch onto it. ● Can't be Death rolled by Sarcosuchus The Pezosiren Portelli is too fat to be Death rolled. ● Can be ridden without a saddle Saddles ruin their Tan Lines. <Attacks> ● Belly Flop The Portelli can hop forward and smush it's foes with it's massive underside, crushing the dinos caught beneath it. This attack is simmilar to the Maewing's belly flop. ● Log Roll This pile of lard will lie down and log roll for a short distance, trampling anything that lies in its path. ● Flail The Portelli can flail it's stubby limbs around itself underwater and on land, damaging all the creatures around it. This looks similar to a toddler having a temper tantrum. ● Mud Bomb The Portelli can launch a ball of mud at dinos, slowing them for a short while. <Thanks For Reading!> It means a lot to me that you took the time to check out my suggestion, and if you enjoyed it as much as I did, consider giving it an upvote! If you have any feedback feel free to tell me, I would love to hear your thoughts! Gigantophis - The Lumbering Serpent
RaptorRapture19 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
What is Gigantophis? Gigantophis is an extinct species of constrictor, living around 40 million years ago, it was the largest snake discovered until Titanoboa was found. Gigantophis was roughly around 35 feet long putting it near Whale Shark sized! Gigantophis were believed to of fed on the early relatives of elephants called Moeritherium. More Information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigantophis Gigantophis Dossier Wild: Gigantophis Comprimens unlike Titanoboa exornantur prefers to spend its days basking in the sunlight waiting for its next meal. This immensely large snake prefers to constrict its prey crushing every single bone in its body, once it has its coils wrapped around you, there is no way of escape, just death. This creature is regularly seen preying upon the likes of Paraceratherium, Stegosaurus and even Triceratops but it won't pass up the opportunity to grab a nearby survivor. Tamed: Whilst tamed Gigantophis is a viable asset, I have seen survivors using it as sort of upgraded chain bola which holds creatures in place but due to Gigantophis constrictor nature, it slowly crushes the creature. Personally I have been using mine as a sort of make-do tent protecting me from the elements, it is a terrifying thought but the babies are so cute with their little goofy smiles, you will get immediately attached to them. (Working on Dossier) Behaviour Due to Gigantophis being a predator, it is highly aggressive, and relentless. It will attack any survivor or tame which is within reach of its thick coils. They are mainly found in marshlands and open plains (when nesting). A nesting mother will not attack unless you are very close to it. Appearance Gigantophis looks like a modern day Anaconda but super sized, they tend to be solitary and ambush their prey with thick coils which disable prey, if the prey is larger than it, they bite it with their rows of needle teeth preventing the prey from moving. Taming Gigantophis is a passive tame and requires special precaution. It is advised to bring tames with high hp which you don't mind losing for example Moschops'. You must first find a mother Gigantophis coiled around its nest, the level of the mother represents the level of eggs inside the nest. Whistle your Moschops towards the mother, the mother will agro to the Moschops and start to coil then kill it, you must keep sending Moschops until the mother's taming effectiveness is at 100%. Once it is at 100%, the mother will spawn an egg and you must send one more Moschops to distract the mother from the egg. Gigantophis mother go up to level 225. Combat It is advised to use high ground against Gigantophis with a decent shotgun or use a large tame which deals a lot of damage, so you do not get constricted by Gigantophis. Attacks Primary: Is a bite attack which deals bleed damage similar to the Deinonychus. Secondary: Coil attack which coils around creatures and hold it in place, you must press the button again to start constricting, inhibiting their movement whilst giving a bone break effect after a while and slowly increases in damage as time passes. Tertiary: Latch attack, only for large creatures, you bite and latch onto the creature then press the coil button to start constricting the creature. You can also just use it to slow down your target. Abilities - PvP Soaker counter: Gigantophis can hold soaker in place preventing their movement so you can kill them more easily. Whilst constricting, if Gigantophis is damaged, it will let go and leave the tame with a bone break effect. Movement restrict: Gigantophis can latch on to large creatures like gigas and slow/prevent their movement allowing you to kill them easier. Unaffected by picking: Due to Gigantophis being so low to the ground and the position of the rider, you are immune to creatures like Desmodus picking you off your mount. Tank: Due to Gigantophis' girth, it has a large hp value and can take quite a lot of hits, this is especially useful against hard hitting tames. Abilities - PvE Make-do Shelter: Ever had that horrible feeling of not being able to get back to your base in time when servers are about to update, well Gigantophis acts as a shelter and bed, all you have to do is access its option wheel and choose the shelter option, whilst in this mode Gigantophis gains the apex buff meaning you will be mostly safe. Egg Collector: Gigantophis is a necessity for breeders who aren't at base, Gigantophis will collect your fertilized eggs while you're away and keep them safe until you need them. Boss Fighter: Due to Gigantophis hp stat and its decent damage, it is a viable candidate for any boss fight. Underwater Mount: When Gigantophis is in the water it gains a significant speed buff and it does not lose oxygen. Meatrunner: Gigantophis is a reliable meat runner being able to carry a lot of meat without getting encumbered! Tame Helper: Using Gigantophis coil attack, you can reliably hold most creatures down so you can tranq them out. Snake Bridge: Acts as a bridge between 2 rock faces, for easier traversal with other creatures.- 20 replies

Machimosasurus Rex -The Largest Marine Crocodilian-
Everdark posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Hello Survivors, For this vote I’d like to present to you, what is believed to be, the largest marine crocodilian aka The Machimosasaurus Rex. Getting straight to abilities, something that Casuls be used to set it apart from the other crocodilians in game is it could utilize the hydration buff and possibly have an immunity or resistance to the Cnidaria and Eels electricity and have a higher gather efficiency of Raw Prime Fish Meat if you aren’t already relying on a Leedsicthys farm. Another trait that could be used to differentiate it from other marine creatures is it could be more agile or have better control underwater, maybe on par or better than the Ichtyosaurs we currently have and the Machimosasaur could be a possible tame for dealing with other hydration buff creatures while they are submerged in water and possibly even squids by being immune to grabs and stuns while submerged. Size-wise the croc appears to be comparable to the in game Sarco so I could see the Machi being somewhere in between the Sarco and Karoo if it makes it into the game.- 4 replies

land and water mount Pontolis - The early water mount
helenabee posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The Pontolis is an extinct pinniped which can be found in groups, basking on the large beaches, or swimming around the shallows. Males of the species are larger and very territorial, they will fight each other in the wild. Females are smaller, have a different pattern, no tusks, and cannot be ridden. Basically these guys would be an early game water mount. Not terribly strong, you don't really want to be fighting with these guys, but great for getting around reasonably safely. If something big attacks then you can buff your defence and stun them to flee. They can be kept on land which makes keeping them safe easier in the early game. Mid/late game their use is more for their agility and speed than strength, and the fact that you can shoot while riding them. In the Wild Can be found on the large beaches along the south and west of Ragnarok, basking in large groups. The males are larger and have two pairs of tusks. The strongest male will have an 'alpha' glow and will fight all other wild males in the area. When attacked males will fight back. Females are smaller and will flee when attacked. They can also be found swimming in the shallows. Tamed Only males can be ridden. Form a pack (harem). A pack can only have one male, who will have the 'alpha' glow, and up to 6 females. Each additional female gives a small boost to all the pack's defence. They are very clumsy on land, but extremely quick and agile in the water, able to swim in all directions similar to how a tapejara can fly. Male's melee attack is a slash that causes bleed. Female's melee attack is a headbutt which stuns creatures and causes them to lose aggro (builds stun on large creatures like a yuty's courage roar) allowing you to flee. Males can 'bellow' to buff the pack's defence and speed. Can shoot from the creatures back. Taming Method You need to fight them to reduce their hp to <10%, at which point they can be tamed by feeding similarly to a Moschops. You can only tame the alpha male when there are no other males in the area. Abilities Left Click - bite (inflicts bleed) Right Click - bellow (buffs defence and speed of pack) Pontolis has very low oxygen drain, allowing it to stay underwater for long periods. Player character oxygen drain is greatly reduced while riding the Pontolis. Appearance Similar to a modern day walrus, but much bigger and males have two pairs of tusks. Males are larger, covered in scars and have different markings. Generally they are a mixture of browns, greys and dark blues.-
